Background
The Fish is an enemy in MOTHER (localized as EarthBound Beginnings), found in the Magicant Underground. It resembles a yellow carnivorous fish in an upright position. It is the game's only optional boss, and guards the Onyx Hook, an item which can transport Ninten to Magicant whenever he uses it. The Fish itself resides in the Magicant Underground, and the battle will more specifically initiate once Ninten has stepped on the stairs leading to the room which contains the Onyx Hook. Despite its ability to use moderately damaging continuous attacks, it is not a difficult enemy to defeat and goes down in a few physical hits.
