Background

Mahito is one of the primary antagonists of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He is a cursed spirit allied with Suguru Geto. His group's ultimate goal is the eradication of humanity and ultimately replacing the population with cursed spirits.

Intelligence: Gifted (Mahito possesses very high intellectual prowess, especially for a cursed spirit. He was accurately able to deduce that jujutsu sorcerers were investigating him and was able to set a trap for his pursuers. Mahito can also surmise his opponent's skill level and even their cursed technique after just a few exchanges. He was able to accurately do so against Nanami and he was able to realize that Yuji had the ability to see souls thanks to his relationship with Sukuna. He is also very adept at using a variety of tricks to fool his opponents. Along with Suguru Geto, Mahito often acts as the brains of his faction's operation)

Standard Tactics: Mahito will abuse his cursed technique and will unleash the stocked civillains he has in a fight. He will toy around with his opponent and will try to transfigure their soul. If he is aware that his opponent can harm his soul or if they just annoy him, he will try to immediately kill them.

Weaknesses: If the shape of his transformation is too big, its maneuverability and power will decline.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Cursed Energy (Juryoku?): A power source aligned with negative emotions used by sorcerers and curses to fuel their jujutsu. Mahito has a vast amount of cursed energy at his disposal, more so than even Sukuna's vessel after consuming three fingers. Mahito is able to use his cursed technique repeatedly without depleting his cursed energy. Only his Domain Expansion has used up significant enough amounts of cursed energy to exhaust Mahito's reserves. As the events progressed, Mahito evolved his control over cursed energy. The first major results of that were shown in his fight with Yuji during the Shibuya Incident, when he used a variety of manipulations with his cursed energy to trick his opponent. Mahito's control ended up being well-refined enough to the point where he could use Black Flash practically at will.

• Idle Transfiguration: Mahito's Cursed Technique grants him the ability to reshape souls. Doing so allows him to disfigure his victims' bodies, heal his own wounds, transform his appendages into weapons, and a limitless variety of other possible transformations. Additionally, he can change the target's soul's shape to turn them into monster-like creatures that obey his orders and change their size.
• Soul Multiplicity: Mahito uses his Cursed Technique to merge two or more souls together, which causes a reaction due to the merge's rejection.
• Body Repel: By using the effect of Soul Multiplicity and increasing the soul's Energy, Mahito directs the overwhelming output towards an opponent.
• Polymorphic Soul Isomer: Using Soul Multiplicity, Mahito can form the souls with weak rejection into one body. The result is a Transfigured Human that can attack Mahito's opponents on its own. A Polymorphic Soul Isomer is more stable than a regular Transfigured Human, as it doesn't seem capable of randomly dying mid-battle. A result of expending so many souls at once is the explosive power behind the Isomer's attacks, as they're strong enough to send a powerful Sorcerer, like Aoi Todo, flying. However, the trade-off is the low durability of these Transfigured Humans, which was shown when Todo managed to take them down in just one punch for each.
• Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing: When Mahito found the true essence of his soul, he unlocked a new stronger body. When using it, Mahito is visibly more muscular and monstrous, bearing some resemblance to Hanami. This body is also extremely durable, as shown when Yuji's punches had no effect on him. To activate this form, Mahito has to rip his human face off.
• Self-Embodiment of Perfection: Mahito's Domain Expansion creates an environment where he is automatically connected with the souls of anyone inside and is capable of transfiguring them at will. With this power, Mahito doesn't need to touch the target directly to affect their soul, as the target's soul is essentially already on the palm of his hand when inside this domain.
• Curtain: A cursed technique that separates an area from the rest of space. Sorcerers mostly used it to hide their activities from the world by rendering the inside of the area invisible to the outside, obscuring any action to prevent unwanted witnesses or interruptions.
• Black Flash: A Technique that creates spatial distortion when a user connects with an impact of Cursed Energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit. The phenomenon causes Cursed Energy to flash black, strengthens regular attacks by 2.5 times.
