This I swear!
Okay, be good!

Background

White Pantera is the superhero form of Rodolfo Rivera. Described as a legendary hero by the intro, he is known for his good deeds and powers he has done in the past. His mystical item of power is his Bronze Boots of Truth that give him a powerful kick and high running speed. Unlike Manny's El Tigre and Granpapi's Puma Loco transformations, White Pantera always has his costume on, the reason for this is unknown. He is the overprotective superhero father of Manny Rivera, son of Manny's Grandpapi, and ex-husband of Maria Rivera. Rodolfo outside of his White Pantera powers is what one would call the stereotypical Hero type personality that will stand up for anything that is good, strong, and honorable. He is usually Manny's adviser on being on the good side. Rodolfo teaches Manny many lessons on being a hero and a family member throughout the show.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of White Pantera’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Pre-Series Prior to the beginning of the series, Rodolfo was and still is a legendary superhero. He inherited the Bronze Boots of Truth from his ancestors, battling many super villains in his career, even his own father's alter ego Puma Loco. At one point in time, he met Maria, with whom he would marry and later father Manny.

However, Maria became unbearably concerned and afraid of Rodolfo putting himself in danger in his quest for ridding Miracle City of crime, which prompted the woman to separate from him. Though very distraught, Rodolfo continued to fight evil, and raise Manny with Grandpapi.

Canon Future It's been stated that he'll get back together with Maria Rivera once Rodolfo finally retired from being a superhero. This may possibly be that once Rodolfo actually gave up being superhero, Maria was able to return to him.

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Multilingualism (White Pantera can speak both english and spanish), Acrobatics, Vehicular Mastery (Land Vehicles; Can drive race vehicles), Cartoon Physics (Mid Potency. Has consistently shown to defy logic, such as when he screamed loud enough to make the stars fall from the sky), Statistics Amplification (White Pandera's Boots give him super speed[9]), Immortality (Type 8; Even upon death, as long as White Pantera is remembered he will still exist in the land of the dead, in which he can leave through talking to the original El Tigre who will summon the ancient tiger spirit and summoning a portal[10]), Mind Manipulation (Having the boots touch one's face can force someone to tell the truth[11]).
Resistance to Magma Manipulation, Fire Manipulation, & Extreme Heats (The boots can withstand lava[12])

Equipment

  • Bronze Boots of Truth: The Bronze Boots of Truth are the mystic items of White Pantera. With it, the person gains super speed and can force someone to tell the truth if the boots touch their face.

Notable Techniques

  • Super Speed: His boots allow White Pantera to move at super fast speed, letting him catch up to criminals much faster.
  • Boots of Truth: The boots can also make someone tell the truth against their will. Grandpapi, Frida, and the Titanium Titan are 3 of those who have been made to tell the truth. Of those, Grandpapi was the only one shown whom White Pantera himself tried this particular power on. Frida touched intentionally to try them. Titanium Titan had a Truth Proof Vest though that rendered him immune to the effects.

Other

Standard Tactics: White Pantera will run up at super speeds and attempt to kick his opponent.

Weaknesses: Allergic to jug bands[13]. White Pantera is very easily gullible, such as when his boots clearly didn't work and he couldn't harm El Oso with them, he believed it was his fault and it was time for him to retire[14]. White Pantera is good to a fault, meaning he will never try and strategies that fall out of his moral compass, even if none of his other strategies work.

Note: El Tigre is a very inconsistent series with various showings, where higher feats such as Sartana's moon face feat exist but also much lower feats, such as how almost every episode consistently treats buildings falling on the characters as a legitimate threat and in some episodes they can either tank it with minor to major damages or be completely hospitalized. Along with those, the scaling in the show is immensely inconsistent, Manny can at times fight El Oso by himself and then other times need his entire family to fight El Oso and even then sometimes the combined might can't beat him. El Mal Verde was treated as the strongest villain in the show, and was easily defeated by Sartana. Along with this, at the end of the series, El Mal Verde was defeated by El Tigre, White Pantera, and Puma Loco with a single punch.

Trivia

  • In the storyboard pitch of "Sole of a Hero", White Pantera's "Power Punch Kick" was originally written as an actual punch, not a kick. Afterwards, it became obvious that the boot-themed super hero should have a kick against his most powerful villian, Voltura's attack.
  • In Dia De Los Malos, Rodolfo comes out of the bathroom with a comb in his hand, combing something back. But already had his mask on, so what was he combing? His mask?
  • In Eye Caramba, it is seen on Rodolfo's super hero license as White Pantera that he is an organ donor.
White Pantera's superhero license
  • Pantera means "Panther" in the Spanish language.
