~ Withered Sprout upon seeing Saitama

Background

Withered Sprout was a Tiger-level Mysterious Being. The Surly Brothers estimated the monster's disaster level to be Dragon. He was killed by Saitama.

Withered Sprout is seen in Z-City when the Surly Brothers show up. Withered Sprout pretends to be scared and is attacked by one of Angry Man's attacks, but quickly freezes him. Withered Sprout still acts weak, but manages to defeat Crying Man and Smile Man. Saitama later passes by and Withered Sprouts still acts weak but uses a sneak attack on him. After Saitama easily breaks his glaciers, he attacks him again only to be killed by Saitama's punch.

Powers and Techniques

All beings in One-Punch Man have a Limiter which through trying to break it[14], starts granting them the following abilities:

Indomitable Will (One that breaks their limiter need to have extreme will to continue[15]), Pain Tolerance (As they constantly need to put constant pressure on both their body and mind[16]), Accelerated Development (Passive, Physical Stats & Abilities; Limiter Removal, allows for endless growth as there is no intrinsic limit placed on people[17]), Adaptation (Garou has shown to increase himself to blitzing and overpowering Darkshine, who previously managed to break his entire ribcage, by breaking his limiter[18]), Supernatural Resilience (Characters like Garou were able to survive being ripped apart and a hole in his chest[19]), Resurrection (To experience explosive growth, one must be on the brink of death and die than resurrect[20]).

Resistance to BFR (Forced Teleportation; Child Emperor due to his strong will, can break out of Pheonix Space[21]), Mind Manipulation & Absorption (Psykos resisted Orochi absorbing them into them and taking over their mind through sheer will[22]), Telekinesis (Garou with his sheer will couldn't have his movements negated by Gyro Gyro[23]), Sleep Manipulation (Through sheer will and getting pumped up Metal Bat can resist the tranquilizing odor that made him nearly lose consciousness[24]), Empathic Manipulation (Fubuki is able to resist Monster Princess' whip due to having a strong will where her whip can turn one into a slave[25]), Power Nullification (Limits are meant to be intrinsic limits placed on people[26])

Trivia

  • Jumping Spider and Withered Sprout are the only Mysterious Beings officially considered with three different disaster levels.
    • He was first considered to be a Wolf-level threat, due to his cowardly nature and weak-looking appearance.
    • He was considered a Tiger-level threat by the Hero Association after being defeated instead of a higher threat level to prevent "destroying the balance of the pro hero world".
    • He was suggested and considered to be a Dragon-level threat by a Hero Association staff member and Smile Man, but not officially registered as one.
