Background

Pico is one of the mascots of Newgrounds created by Tom Fulp. He originated as the Protagonist in Pico's School and continued to appear in many other games throughout Newgrounds history such as Pico vs Uberkids, Pico Vs Bear, Resident Pico, and Friday Night Funkin'.

In Pico's School, he was as an ordinary kid until Cassandra, the leader of Goth Punks decided to rebel against the school with violence. Pico managed to beat all of the Goth Punks but was left with untreated schizophrenia and became homicidal after the events of Pico's School. In Pico's school: Love Conquers which all took place in an alternate timeline, Pico was able to stop the Goth Punks from rebelling against the school by talking to them and helping them redeem themselves. After the events of Pico's school, The Ghettobots were sent from space by the Pennilians to defeat Pico and take over the world. However, Pico was able to overcome their strength and defeat them as well. In an alternate timeline where UFA took place, Pico even got them to work with him and they conquered and ruled the whole world.

In Pico Vs Uberkids, Pico, Nene, and Darnel were chosen to test the Uberkids in a competition. Pico chose to compete in Rock Paper Scissors Roulette and all the Uber kids lost in the end despite being made to be genetically superior. In Pico Vs Bear, Pico is now a assassin and is recruited by a Policeman to stop a Bear named Big Brown Barry that is terrorizing and killing children. Pico was a fan of the bear before but now put his feelings behind to stop Big Brown Barry. In Resident Pico there was an army of Zombies attacking the town but Pico killed them all by himself and casually danced his victory.

Many years after the events of the Pico games, Daddy Dearest is humiliated by Boyfriend after losing a rap battle and hires Pico to kill him. Pico however knew Boyfriend in the past and decided to rap battle against him instead of immediately killing him with his gun. In week 7, Pico is hired again by Girlfriend's parents in order to get Boyfriend's dead body but he defied them again and ends up defending Boyfriend as he killed the tankmen trying to kill Boyfriend and Girlfriend.

However, they made up in the end and became friends again)

Pico not only defeated the Ghettobots who greatly surpass human limits in stats and the Penillians but was seen as such a threat that the entire Penillian species did not dare to even come near earth again until he naturally died of age to come back to earth to attack a second time. The Penillians are able to kill military soldiers and destroy tanks casually in UFA but still dared not to go against Pico until he died of age. He was able to become a professional assassin as a kid and was even considered one of the best despite being a young kid. He is able to use the environment to his advantage as seen in Pico vs Bear, and think of quick solutions to save himself like when Bear was going to blow himself and the house up in just a few seconds while Pico was trapped inside. He was able to take advantage of weak points like Cassandras eyes to prevent her from shooting energy projections and fight against other characters like Hanzou and Alucard in combat despite never engaging in combat before as well as being able to use a gun effectively with no training or prior knowledge.)

It is likely done like this as characters like Nene resurrect right after they killed themselves and ended up going t school on the same day regardless and completely fine).

Standard Tactics: Pico shoots in multiple games such as Pico's School and Pico Vs Bear. At close range he can fight physically as well. He sings in Friday Night Funkin'

Weaknesses: Pico is a daredevil as shown in Pico vs Uberkids (Took 2 shots instead of 1 on his turn of Rock Paper Scissors Roulette). If Pico is beaten in a rap battle, he will have his bones shattered. However, this is only a weakness in-verse as this is a specific ability all users in Friday Night Funkin' share.

Note: Pico's School is canon to Friday Night Funkin'. It has even been approved by Tom Fulp who called it official Pico lore while Ninjamuffin called it Friday Night Funkin' lore and their relationship is not a joke. Pico is even shown with Boyfriend in Pico's School: Love Conquers All which is only a timeline split due to Pico simply talking about a band he likes which stopped the shooting all together, which would confirm Boyfriend exists in the main universe too. Its even stated to be a retelling of that exact same event and everything prior is the same as the main universe where Friday Night Funkin' and Pico's School takes place. It has even been confirmed multiple times that they were exes in the main universe. (context) Tankman even directly mentions Pico being ''sexually ambigious" refering to his past relationship with Boyfriend and directly references the events of Pico's School. (Note: It's a common misconception that Pico was the shooter despite being the hero).

Note 2: The reason characters in Friday Night Funkin' share the same hax from singing is because rap battles are the main method of battle in Friday Night Funkin' and they have been shown to be deadly as Boyfriend breaks his bones through losing these battles and requires Girlfriend to rewind time so he can try again after his skeleton cracks and he dies. (The NSFW part specifically is a joke, Girlfriend revives him by setting the battle to the beginning just by sitting down on the speakers and can even do it while Boyfriend holds her as shown here.) The official itch.io page directly states that characters such as Daddy Dearest are trying to kill him and not to die in the instructions with the only way of dying being to lose a rap battle. Daddy Dearest also hired Pico as a bounty hunter to kill Boyfriend and there are implications of even more going on during rap battles in canon. Characters that very clearly want to kill/possess Boyfriend and Girlfriend on the spot such as Monster and Spirit lead with starting a rap battle and singing. Boyfriend survives all of these situations unharmed by winning the rap battles. Tankman even implies that boyfriend was killed by losing the rap battle itself and not to mention every character has a death icon when they are pushed all the way to the end of the bar that shows who is winning the rap battle. That same bar is also directly called a health bar by Phantom Arcade.
