Tidus grew up in Jecht’s shadow, constantly tormented by his father’s harsh words and legendary Blitzball Player status. As a Gundam unit, Gundam Heavyarms is far more advanced than most mobile suits, and thus requires an extremely skilled person to pilot it. It was one of the five main Gundam suits built for Operation Meteor, alongside [[Wing Gundam]], [[Gundam Deathscythe]], [[Gundam Sandrock]], and [[Gundam Shenlong]]. Although a powerful mobile suit in its own right, Gundam Heavyarms is nothing but a descendant to the highly-advanced and extraordinarily dangerous [[Wing Gundam Zero]].
However, during the Jecht Memorial Cup blitzball tournament, a powerful creature known as Sin appeared and wreaked havoc through Tidus’s home city of Zanarkand. During the attack, Tidus was taken to the world of Spira, where he was surrounded by a completely unknown environment.


Following its self-destruction, Gundam Heavyarms was taken up to space by [[Heero Yuy]]. In secret, the five original developers of the Gundam mobile suits took the remains of Heavyarms, and not only rebuilt it, but also heavily enhanced it. This marked the creation of '''XXXG-01H2 Gundam Heavyarms Custom''', also called '''Gundam Heavyarms Custom''' or '''Gundam Heavyarms Kai'''.
Tidus soon joined a girl named Yuna on her pilgrimage to defeat Sin, and made friends with others, such as Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri, and Rikku; along with his mentor, Auron. Together on the journey, Tidus travelled through Spira, initially wanting to return to Zanarkand, but soon growing a love for Yuna and a desire to help her defeat Sin.


Heavyarms Custom is far more powerful than its previous iteration, and has been outfitted with the capabilities to fight in, and travel through, space. Furthermore, it has been given an extra Gatling Gun on its arm, which allows for double the firepower than it had before.
During this journey, Tidus learned of the world of Spira, and learned things about himself as well. Tidus and Yuna’s friendship blossomed into a relationship, although both of them knew it likely wouldn’t last due to their fate in fighting Sin. Despite this, they clung to optimism and discovered the truth behind Sin together.

Background
