Totem Pokémon Theme

Background

Totem Wishiwashi is the Totem of Brooklet Hill. The trial begins as soon as the player walks through the trial gates (which are located immediately before the Totem's Den); however, the player can leave at any time with no impact on the trial, since the trial only includes the battle with the Totem Pokémon. In this trial, the player must investigate the mysterious rippling water in the middle of the Totem's Den and defeat the Totem Pokémon. In the battle with Totem Wishiwashi, it will call Wishiwashi on its first turn, and call Alomomola if its HP is below half (if the ally Wishiwashi has been defeated). If its HP drops below approximately 2/3 before it has a chance to call an ally, it will call Alomomola first, then call Wishiwashi at the first opportunity after Alomomola has fainted. Once an ally is defeated, Totem Wishiwashi cannot call it again. After defeating the Totem Pokémon, the game cuts to Lana and the player talking on the shore. Lana gives the player a Waterium Z as a reward, as well as the Fishing Rod and ten Dive Balls. After completing the trial, wild Pokémon will appear in the Totem's Den.

They directly act as bosses as well, making them valid.

    Totem Pokémon Theme

    Background

    Totem Araquanid is the Totem of Brooklet Hill. The trial begins as soon as the player walks through the trial gates (which are located west of the first lake); however, the player can leave at any time with no impact on the trial. In this trial, Lana requests that the player drive the Wishiwashi in Brooklet Hill's pools downstream in order to draw out the Totem Pokémon. The first lake is not part of the trial site. In both lakes within the trial site, each contains two water splashes, one containing a Dewpider and the other containing a Wishiwashi; to progress the trial, the player only needs to defeat the Wishiwashi (the Dewpider's water splashes disappear once the player completes the trial if they have not been defeated). Lana will not allow the player to proceed further south until they have defeated the Wishiwashi. Once the player sends both Wishiwashi downstream, it will start raining in all of Brooklet Hill, causing it to rain in all battles conducted there until the trial is complete. Unlike other non-Totem SOS Battles, the initially encountered trial Pokémon in the third lake will successfully call for help every turn as long as it does not already have an ally, even if it has a status condition; the Pokémon called as allies will not themselves call for help. The Pokémon encountered in the second lake do not call for help. When the player enters the Totem's Den, they will see a small water splash in the center of the den, which Lana tells them is the Totem Pokémon. When initiating the battle with the Totem Pokémon, the overworld rain gets stronger throughout the whole area (although the regular rain condition still occurs in battle), remaining in effect until the player defeats the Totem Pokémon even if the player loses to it. In the battle with Totem Araquanid, it will call Dewpider on its first turn, and call Masquerain if its HP is below half (if the ally Dewpider has been defeated). If its HP drops below approximately 2/3 before it has a chance to call an ally, it will call Masquerain first, then call Dewpider at the first opportunity after Masquerain has fainted. Once an ally is defeated, Totem Araquanid cannot call it again. After defeating the Totem Pokémon, the game cuts to Lana and the player talking on the shore.     Totem Pokémon Theme

    Background

    Totem Kommo-o is the Totem of Vast Poni Canyon. The trial site is located at the north end of the canyon. The trial begins once the player enters the trial site; they can leave the way they came in at any time, although this will reset the trial. If the player loses the battle against the Totem Pokémon, when they attempt the trial again, they will only need to battle the Totem Pokémon; however, if they then leave after this, the trial will be reset. The player cannot use Charizard Glide during the trial. This is a natural trial that has no Trial Captain, said to be the first ever trial. A tablet at the entrance of the trial site explains the trial. The player proceeds forward through the trial site, being attacked by a wild Jangmo-o and a wild Hakamo-o that leap from up high as the player proceeds toward a Z-Crystal pedestal. If the player tries to proceed out of the passageway behind the pedestal, they will be forced to turn back due to the fear that the Totem Pokémon will attack them from behind. When the player attempts to take the Z-Crystal from the pedestal, they are unable to retrieve the Dragonium Z before being attacked by the trial's Totem Pokémon, a Kommo-o. In the battle with Totem Kommo-o, it will call Hakamo-o/Noivern on its first turn, and call Scizor if its HP is below 2/3 (if the ally Hakamo-o/Noivern has been defeated). If its HP drops below 2/3 before it has a chance to call an ally, it will call Scizor first, then call Hakamo-o/Noivern at the first opportunity after Scizor has fainted. Once an ally is defeated, Totem Kommo-o cannot call it again. After completing the trial, the player collects the Dragonium Z from the pedestal.

Nihilego should scale to other Ultra Beasts who could fight the Ultra Guardians and Ultra Beasts were considered so much a threat that Zygarde went to Alola to protect its ecosystem from them in their Complete Forme. Zygarde should scale to Xerneas and Yveltal and can overpower them in his Complete Forme with Xerneas and Yveltal being stronger than the ultimate weapon and them having to power it which was around this level. As a legendary Pokémon, it should also scale to Groudon and Kyogre with Groudon being able to raise continents)

    Notable Techniques

    *Clanging Scales: The user rubs the scales on its entire body and makes a huge noise to attack the opposing Pokémon. The user's Defense stat goes down after the attack.

    • Sky Uppercut: The user attacks the target with an uppercut thrown skyward with force.
    • Flash Cannon: The user gathers all its light energy and releases it all at once. This may also lower the target's Sp. Def stat.
    • Protect: Enables the user to evade all attacks. Its chance of failing rises if it is used in succession.
    • Drain Punch: An energy-draining punch. The user's HP is restored by half the damage taken by the target.
    • Dragon Claw: The user slashes the target with huge sharp claws.
    • Thunder Punch: The target is punched with an electrified fist. This may also leave the target with paralysis.
    • Poison Jab: The target is stabbed with a tentacle or arm steeped in poison. This may also poison the target.

    *Sky Uppercut: The user attacks the target with an uppercut thrown skyward with force.

  • Autotomize: The user sheds part of its body to make itself lighter and sharply raise its Speed stat.
  • Work Up: The user is roused, and its Attack and Sp. Atk stats increase.
  • Bide: The user endures attacks for two turns, then strikes back to cause double the damage taken.

  • Dragon Pulse: The target is attacked with a shock wave generated by the user's gaping mouth.
  • Air Slash: The user attacks with a blade of air that slices even the sky. This may also make the target flinch.

    Note: While it was agreed that Wild Pokémon should not have pages due to the number of pages needed and how wildly inconsistent Pokémon species vary, Totem Pokémon are an acceptation as they are member from their species who is much more powerful than a normal member and were affected by energy spilled from Ultra Wormholes. They directly act as bosses as well, making them valid.
