Brad Armstrong is the protagonist of LISA: THE PAINFUL. The game surrounds his journey of sacrifice to save Buddy from the Rando Army by any means necessary. He is constantly tormented by the haunting memories of his broken past, the abuse from his father, Marty Armstrong, and the suicide of his sister, Lisa.

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Accelerated Development (He gets stronger over the course of fights and can instantly incorporate the skills of trained martial artists into his fighting style without having to train), Genius Intelligence (In terms of combat only), Martial Arts (He is the creator of Armstrong Style, which is a mixture of karate and pain), Fire Manipulation (He can shoot out several different types of fireballs), Vehicular Mastery (Despite there not being anything that indicates him to have had any prior knowledge of how to do so, he is capable of immediately taking a motorcycle off jumps despite being offroad and managing to not lose his balance despite running over multiple people. He is capable of skillfully driving a bicycle, motorcycle and shopping cart even when he has no arms), Healing and Statistics Amplification (When using joy, he recovers all of his health and his attacks become much more powerful), Berserk Mode (He has entered a joy-induced berserk rage on several occasions), Regeneration (Mid-low, semi combat applicable. He can receive deep slices, gunshots, stabbings and more, and only on few occasions does this result in him bleeding profusely; this implies a quick scarring that avoids further bleeding. Not even losing one of his arms makes him bleed out), Resistance to Pain (LISA characters can tank slices, gunshots and powerful strikes with little impediment to their fighting ability as well as continue fighting while being near death). As a Failure, he still has the aforementioned abilities, as well as Immortality (Type 6; After fighting against the Rando Army, he was shown to have had several arrows pierce through his skin, with two of them having pierced through his skull. Yet, he was still able to fight against Rando and endure strikes from the latter that "stabbed through his chest and targetted his heart") and eventual Transformation (Failure Brad is on the verge of turning into a joy mutant)

    Standard Tactics: Although a bit of a wildcard, Brad specializes in close quarters combat and utilizes the moves the Armstrong Style entails. As a failure, his fighting style becomes more aggressive and feral, as evidenced by him starting to bite enemies even if he still has both of his arms at that point. This makes him even more unpredictable than before.

    Weaknesses: Brad will occasionally go through Withdrawal if he hasn't taken Joy in a while, which puts a heavy damper on his stats to the point where he is unable to harm comparable enemies with his normal attacks and only do chip damage with his most powerful ones (this however only sparingly affected him in his last key and over the course of his final fight he lost this trait as he was on the verge of turning into a joy mutant). He is considerably weaker than he initially was if he has lost one or both of his arms and his need for joy will be even greater than before.
