Drawcia

From The Codex
Revision as of 22:57, 11 September 2021 by GiverOfThePeace (talk | contribs)
This powerful sorceress once turned Kirby into a rolling pink ball and Dream Land into a world made of paint. Her name is awfully similar to that of Claycia's, but no one knows for sure if the two are related.
~ Drawcia’s Figurine description in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Background

Drawcia is the main antagonist of Kirby: Canvas Curse. She is a powerful sorceress born out of a mysterious painting, wanting to rule a world made of paint and art. Being the original owner of the mighty Magical Paintbrush that turned Kirby into a ball and Dream Land into a piece of artwork, she is capable of creating shadow-like entities out of paintings and fire blasts of powerful dark magic. Her capability to bring things to life with paint is similar to the abilities of Adeleine, Paint Roller and Paintra; however, Drawcia has much more creative and magical power at her disposal than any of these characters, being able to create whole worlds and even full-fledged bosses (including Paint Roller himself) to impede Kirby in his attempt to undo her spell on Dream Land.

Like many final bosses in the series, Drawcia has two forms that Kirby must confront in battle. She is fought as both Drawcia Sorceress (the form she appears in during the opening cutscene) and Drawcia Soul.

Intelligence: Genius (Was able to somehow gain sentience and learn she was a painting and in response cause the entirety of the universe to turn into a painting, with her even defeating Kirby. Her loss was only due to the Rainbow Brush wanting to stop Drawcia and being transported too The Player)

Standard Tactics:

Drawcia instantly led with transforming the entire world into her painting, if one resists this her next act is to transmutate them, if they somehow can fight even while transmutated she will proceed creates replicas of King Dedede, Kracko, and Paint Roller out of paintings to hinder the person from getting to her, she will also force them to go through rooms where they must flee her deletion wave. Once confronting her, she fires magical blasts, draws huge spikes that pop out from beneath the ground, jumps into the air and quickly zooms towards the opponent, and summons smaller versions of herself called Para Sorceresses. She can paint enemies to life with her paintbrush. Drawcia is passively protected by a forcefield, once defeated, she will remain as just her soul.

Drawcia Soul's attacks are quite different from those of her living counterpart, relying more on brute force than potent magic. Drawcia's main attack in this phase is to summon several spherical creatures referred to as Para Matters. Drawcia Soul has a wide array of other attacks, such as warping around the screen, and raining paint blobs. The undead blob can also rush across the screen in the form of a meteor that covers much of the screen. Finally, Drawcia Soul will periodically warp to the center of the screen and open her core, sending many dazzling, rainbow-colored cutters flying out as she does so.

Weaknesses: If she is defeated her painting can be used to re-seal her. Reflecting her attack back at her will temporarily negate her forcefield and paralyze her.
