The Saiyans...? They’re here. I am they. We are one. Unfortunately for you, Omega.
~ Gogeta to Omega Shenron

Background

Gogeta is the fusion between Son Goku and Vegeta, through use of the Metamoran Fusion Dance. Because of this, Gogeta is a sort of counterpart to the Potara Earrings Fusion of Goku and Vegeta, Vegito.

Because of the nature of the Metamoran Dance, Gogeta’s fusion runs on a time limit, which is normally around 30 minutes. However, transformation into further Super Saiyan forms will decrease this time tremendously.

Goku and Vegeta first accessed this form during their fight with Janemba, becoming Super Saiyan Gogeta and ending the fight almost immediately with a Soul Punisher. Later, Goku and Vegeta resort to the Fusion Dance once again during their battle with Omega Shenron, becoming Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, though they don’t take the battle seriously enough and are unable to finish the fight in time.

General Information

Key: Fusion Reborn | Dragon Ball GT

Name: Gogeta

Origin: Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn

Gender: Male

Age: 30 minutes old (Fusions only last around 30 minutes)

Classification: Alien, Metamoran Fusion

Species: Saiyan

Occupation: None

Status: Deceased (Goku and Vegeta during the events of Fusion Reborn are both in the afterlife) | Alive

Alignment: Neutral Good (Gogeta is so concentrated that he doesn't even utter a word to his opponents. The moment he faced Janemba in battle, he almost immediately used his most powerful technique and eliminated him. Gogeta allows for no playing around, no room to even revel in combat for a moment, and instead ends things as soon as possible) | Chaotic Good (Directly opposed to his first appearance, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta seems to derive more from Vegito's personality. He doesn't take fights seriously, even when the entire universe is at stake, and will waste his limited time on playing pranks, as seem with his fight against Omega Shenron)

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Power Source: Ki (All beings in Dragon Ball[1][2][3] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[4], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[5] block attacks that would otherwise[6] kill them from[7] raising their guard[8], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[9])

Attack Potency: At least Island level (Potency) (As a fusion of both Son Goku and Vegeta during the Buu Saga he should be comparable to Vegito. Superior to Son Goku, who, moments before Gogeta’s appearance, shook the afterlife with his Super Saiyan 3 transformation, along with being unimpressed by Dabura's power, who he compared to Perfect Cell, who is far superior to his Semi-Perfect form, who destroyed several islands with several blast). Varies: Skill with Strongest Charged Blast (Charged Blast have one focus all of their energy into one single point[10], putting the blasts power far beyond what their peak strength is[11], allowing them to destroy things they couldn't prior with their regular attacks[12], this also allows them to use charged attacks that can stop enemies far beyond their level, such as Tien Shinhan pushing back Semi-Perfect Cell with his Neo Ki-Ko-Ho[13], along with stopping an attack shot from Buu absorbed Gotenks[14]. Strongest charged blast can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[15], with blasts capable of[16] seriously damaging/destroying[17] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[18]. Charged Blast also rely heavily on emotional states for example Gohan not believing in himself[19] was having Cell overpower him in a beam clash[20]) | At least Island level (Potency) (Could casually overpower Omega Shenron, even kicking away his Minus Energy Power Ball). Varies: Skill with Strongest Charged Blast

Durability: At least Island level, Higher with Guard Up (Ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard), Lower with Ki Control (Higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them) | At least Island level, Higher with Guard Up, Lower with Ki Control

Striking Strength: At least Island Class (Potency) | At least Island Class (Potency)

Lifting Strength: At least Class 50 (Is superior to Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku, who is superior to his Super Saiyan Buu Saga self, who could casually fight while carrying 40 tons) | At least Class 50

Travel Speed: Relativistic (Far superior to Super Saiyan Gotenks who flew around the earth a few dozen times in this time frame. Superior to Super Saiyan Son Goku on Namek, who previously in his base form traveled from Frieza's ship over to Vegeta in this timeframe) | At least Relativistic

Attack Speed: Relativistic (Can react to foes far beyond 22nd Budokai Son Goku, who could dodge a mouth blast from Tambourine, which he used to tag the flying nimbus where even post King Kai training Goku used the flying nimbus to make it to the saiyans implying it is at least comparable to his flight speed by then, with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds) | At least Relativistic

Reaction Speed: Relativistic | At least Relativistic

Stamina: Superhuman (Superior to Son Goku, who traveled over Snake Way for countless days straight, and who, as a kid, was able to survive training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for nearly a year, which is said to be incredibly physically taxing and difficult to stay in for even a short amount of time)

Range: Standard Melee, Interstellar with Ki Attacks (Ki attacks can reach out of the planet and to other planets. All ki attacks should be comparable to Goku's kamehameha, which reached all the way to the sun)

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence (Contains the mind of both Goku and Vegeta, who are both combative experts. Vegeta was able to outsmart Frieza’s entire army and lay low during the Frieza Saga, and managed to trick the likes of Doctor Gero into fleeing by feigning confidence after trashing Android 19; Goku replicated a Kamehameha after seeing it once, which is supposed to take 50 years to learn according to Roshi, copied Master Roshi’s ultimate technique the afterimage after seeing it done, could copy Tien’s Solar Flare and his flying technique and could copy the demon clan’s air ki techniques)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Acrobatics (Capable of doing large superhuman jumps and leaps along with acrobatic flips during combat), Martial Arts (Striking Arts; Before training under Master Roshi, Son Goku was trained by Grandpa Gohan to use techniques such as the jajanken (Rock, Scissors, & Paper) along with being able to deliver punches and kicks while blocking and defending from attacks. Went to train under Master Roshi and learn the turtle hermit style, a style training one to break the wall of humanity[113] mastering the art in both body and mind[114]. This style requires one to train in knowledge[115], work on one's stamina[116] work on their muscles and speed[117] dodge attacks even while tied to a rope in a short range[118] all the while wearing 20-kilo shells[119]. The Turtle Hermit Style are incorporated within this[120], allowing for students that trained under this style to be capable[121] of fighting against other martial artists[122] without needing to be taught any real fighting[123] along with taking no damage from attacks due to the style training their durability[124]. Spiritual Arts; Told by Master Roshi to go out into the wide world and learn more about life, extending his knowledge and growing further for three years. Trained under Mr. Popo and Kami in the style of not wasting movements and making one's heart still going beyond merely just using one's eyes and being able to tell what actions one has done behind them being capable of seeing weak spots in techniques after only a little exchange), Vehicular Mastery (Able to drive cars), Weapon Mastery (Goku can use his power pole in combat and for other practices, such as a way to extend objects up without the use of his hands, along with reaching "the heavens" (Kami's Lookout)), Enhanced Senses (Goku’s nose is as sharp as a dog’s allowing him to smell the scent of people from far away. Can sense people in a village even when they are all hiding), Pure Heart (Goku is able to ride the nimbus cloud, which only those of a pure heart can ride. Was directly noted he doesn't have a single bit of evil in his heart), Accelerated Development (Training; Physical Stats, Skill, & Abilities. As Goku trains he naturally grows stronger at a much faster rate then any of the earthlings. As an example, in the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament saga, Goku in a few months of training matched Master Roshi, one of the strongest Earthlings. Goku is able to increase his ki allowing him to mimic various attacks and gain access to abilities that even if teachers could not, such as how he was able to access Kaio-ken, which even King Kai couldn't access when he made the move itself), Bulletproof (Asides from gag scenes, bullets are unable to pierce him), Fusionism (Goku can perform the Fusion Dance), Extrasensory Perception (After drinking the Water of the Gods, Goku was able to sense ki. Goku has been trained by Mr. Popo in learning to hone his sixth sense to be able to notice people attacking him from behind without using his eyes and feeling the environment around him. Goku is capable of hearing telepathic conversations), Mimicry (Power Mimicry & Technique Mimicry; Goku has a consistent streak of mimicking abilities he’s seen others use, the most famous being him easily mimicking the kamehameha, an ability stated by Roshi takes 50 years of practice to use, along with mimicking the demon clan’s air attack abilities and Tien’s solar flare, and Goku being capable of mimicking Roshi’s afterimage technique after seeing him use it against Krillin, with Goku even being able to improve upon it), Sheer Will (Goku has an immense amount of willpower, to the point that he can start his heart beating again after it stops from sheer will, along with drinking the water of the gods and suffering immense and unexplainable pain for six hours straight without ever giving in just to gain more power), Damage Boost (His beam attacks such as the kamehameha, are far beyond his regular attacks which is an attack that focuses all of Goku's latent energy into a single blast), Afterimage Creation (Could use Jackie Chun’s afterimage technique. Could eventually make an even better version of Chun’s afterimage technique), Precognition (Premonitions; Son Goku can have dark premonitions through bad dreams that allowing him to see people like Vegeta and Nappa who he hasn't seen or knew about beforehand and just knew two saiyans were coming to earth[125]. Analytical Prediction; During his training with Korrin he learns how to read his opponents movements), Air Manipulation, Shockwave Generation & Breath Attack (Goku can unleash a great blast of air from his lungs to momentarily stop himself in the air. Through punching the air with tremendous force, Goku creates a shockwave that blows opponents away before they have a chance to dodge), Flight (By the end of original Dragon Ball he learns the flight technique from seeing Tien and co. do it), Pressure Point Strikes (Used it to chop King Chappa and knock him out in one blow), Power Suppression (Statistics Suppression; With ki control, able to suppress one's ki to be able to fight weaker enemies, along with vary it to hide their true strength), Light Manipulation (With the solar flare, creates a flash of light that blinds the opponent), Aura (Has an aura of ki surrounding him whenever he exerts ki), Vibration Manipulation (Powerful ki users can cause the very ground itself to shake when they power up), Intimidation, Spirit Manipulation & Pain Manipulation ( Ki is the manifestation of one’s lifeforce, along with the aura giving one the feeling of being crushed, exerting fear into the target, sometimes making them incapable of moving as their body is instinctively stuck due to the sheer difference in power), Spatial Manipulation (Goku can erase his presence completely, and ki allowing him to appear wherever, even when Piccolo punched him he didn't actually hit the real Goku), Telepathy (Goku is able to telepathyically speak in people's heads. Read Krillin's mind, could read into King Kai’s telepathy with Guru and telepathically speak with King Kai), Adaptation (While initially struggling in gravity ten times the gravity of Earth, through training he was able to overcome it and move naturally in it), Damage Reduction (His gi created by King Kai allows him to repel weak attacks), Statistics Amplification (With Kaioken transformations, capable of increasing his strength and durability at the sacrifice of his body. With the Super Saiyan transformation, capable of increasing his power level by a multiplier of 50. With the Super Saiyan 2 & 3 transformations, capable of increasing his power level by a multiplier of 100(x2 the x50 multiplier of Super Saiyan 1) and a multiplier of 400 with the Super Saiyan 3 (x4 the x50 multiplier of Super Saiyan 1)), Transformation (Partial Transformation; During the Frieza saga through the rage of seeing his best friend's death, Goku was able to achieve the legendary Super Saiyan transformation. Can also transform into a Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3), Power Manifestation (Goku is capable of coming up with new abilities), Telekinesis (Goku is able to use telekinesis being capable of telekinetically moving water, though this took a lot of concentration), Teleportation & Dimensional BFR (Forced Teleportation; Via Instant Transmission. Can forcibly send his opponent to other places such as heaven), Fusionism (With the fusion dance Goku is able to fuse with another to amplify his strength to unimaginable levels)

Resistance to Hell Manipulation (Goku is completely unaffected by attacks that effect the evil in one due to having no evil in his heart), Pain (Is capable of drinking the Water of the Gods and withstanding the unimaginable pain from it which even a small bit of it can induce terrible pains), Extreme Heats, Extreme Colds, & Air Manipulation (Survived in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a year, which contains sub-zero temperatures to over one hundred degrees temperatures, along with the chamber having 1/4th the air of the regular world and ten times gravity. Unaffected by the heat of the desert), Illusion Creation (Standard Illusions; When focused, Goku can see into his mind's eye to see through illusions), Gravity Manipulation (Can withstand 10 times Earth's gravity), Mind Manipulation (The original Super Saiyan was consumed by its own rage and power losing any sense of itself it had, Goku is capable of maintaining Super Saiyan for as long as he wants), Ice Manipulation (Broke out of Ebifury's Frozen Fist with the Kaio-ken and was immune to its ability to freeze others)

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Genius Intelligence, Enhanced Senses & Extrasensory Perception (Goku has been trained by Mr. Popo in learning to hone his sixth sense to be able to notice people attacking him from behind without using his eyes and feeling the environment around him, other users such as Vegeta have learned the ability of ki sensing from watching people on earth use it), Sheer Will (Vegeta's will allows him to resist mind control), Mimicry (Power Mimicry & Technique Mimicry; Learned to ki sense from watching the people on earth do it), Body Control (Should be able to do the same with his tail that Kid Goku could do who could control his tail to move fast enough to have him briefly fly, along with Raditz, who can use his tail to attack enemies), Accelerated Development (Training; Physical Stats, Skill, & Abilities. Vegeta as well as others can train and quickly grow stronger, surpassing even the earthlings), Damage Boost (His galick gun focuses more energy then his regular power, putting it far beyond him and letting him be capable of destroying planets), Energy Projection (Can fire out energy blast), Flight, Afterimage Creation, Transformation (Transformative Arsenal; Vegeta can transform into a great ape upon seeing the moon. Partial Transformation; Can transform into a Super Saiyan. Can transform into a Super Saiyan 2), Weather Manipulation & Vibration Manipulation (Through Vegeta powering up, he caused massive vibrations to the point that it felt that the Earth was trembling, causing storm clouds to form around and then dispersed them once he was done powering up), Self-Destruction (Used this in desperation against Majin Buu), Telekinesis (Killed a Saibamen from destroying his insides), Fusionism (Vegeta can perform the Fusion Dance)

Resistance to Gravity Manipulation (Can withstand 300 times Earth's gravity), Extreme Heats, Extreme Colds, & Air Manipulation (Can survive in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for an entire year, which contains sub-zero temperatures to over one hundred degrees temperatures, along with the chamber having 1/4th the air of the regular world and ten times gravity), Mind Manipulation (The original Super Saiyan was consumed by its own rage and power losing any sense of itself it had, Vegeta is capable of maintaining Super Saiyan for as long as he wants)

Notable Techniques

  • Flight: With a mastery of Ki control, Gogeta is able to fly at incredibly high speeds.
  • Ki Blast: Using Ki, Gogeta can concentrate it into a ball that he uses as a projectile attack.
  • Ki Sense: Gogeta is able to detect lifeforms and power levels from far off.
  • Kamehameha: The iconic move coined by Master Roshi, which Gogeta has adopted for himself. This starts as a blue Ki ball, which is charged in Gohan’s hands before releasing as an incredibly powerful beam.
    • Super Kamehameha: This is an amplified version of the Kamehameha which has a larger and more devastating beam, which Gogeta uses by first bolstering his Ki.
  • Big Bang Attack: One of Vegeta’s greatest moves, which Gogeta can use by proxy. This has him extend his arm forwards and form a large blue ball of Ki in his palm, which he then launches at the enemy.
  • Big Bang Kamehameha: The combination of Goku’s Kamehameha Wave, and Vegeta’s Big Bang Attack. Gogeta forms a blue ball in front of him, before launching a gigantic blue beam out of it, disintegrating the opponent completely.
  • Soul Punisher: A small rainbow ball of Ki formed in Gogeta’s palm, consisting of purifying energy. When this attack collides with a soul of darkness or evil, it completely erases them and purifies the negative energy.
  • Ultimate Impact: Gogeta charges at the opponent and kicks them into their stomach, bicycle kicking them up into the air while saying "Here goes!" He then flies up to the opponent, and attacks them with a powerful barrage of punches and kicks at a very rapid rate. He then appears behind the opponent saying "Its over." Next, he turns around to elbow the opponent in their face and spin kick them away. Finally, Gogeta teleports above the opponent and hook kicks them down into the ground, inflicting a massive amount of damage.
  • Punisher Shield: Gogeta swipes his left arm out to slice the air with a bluish-green barrier of sorts before delivering a swinging downward kick. The barrier reflects any energy blasts from afar as a giant blue blast, and Gogeta can teleport behind the foe to kick them at a higher angle down into the ground.

  • Super Saiyan: Gogeta is referred to as Super Gogeta while in this form. In Fusion Reborn, immediately after the successful fusion of Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta is at Super Saiyan as both halves (Goku and Vegeta) had previously mastered the transformation. Even though Janemba easily took care of Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, he was unable to even hurt Gogeta at all, with a full-force punch from Janemba to Gogeta's face not doing anything. In a matter of seconds, Gogeta was able to destroy Janemba without any problem whatsoever, even while at this stage, he is still many times stronger than Goku as a Super Saiyan 3 and Vegeta as Super Saiyan 2.

Other

Standard Tactics: Gogeta will engage in hand to hand combat, along with shooting ki attacks. If facing against a particularly evil being he will hit them with Soul Punisher.

Weaknesses

Note

  • Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[164].
  • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.

Explanations

Codex Statistics Questions

Q: What about the planetary feats in Dragon Ball?

A: Planetary feats are normally done through their strongest charged blast, where they can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[165], with blasts capable of[166] seriously damaging/destroying[167] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[168], though they themselves are never capable of leaving this unscathed.

Frieza throws a destroy the planet death ball attack but it doesn't destroy the planet. Goku then interestingly notes the reason the planet didn't blow up is because Frieza was too scared of getting caught in the blast[169] . Vegeta's final flash is noted it's going to destroy the planet and Perfect Cell, who is beyond Vegeta, couldn't tank the blast and had to dodge it last second or it would've killed him[170]. Goku's kamehameha was going to destroy the earth and Cell cannot tank this blast, needing to regenerate[171]. Semi-Perfect Cell explosion was consistently noted it was going to destroy the planet and Gohan and it killed Goku[172]. Ultimate Gohan dies to an attack that destroys the earth, his guard was up too since this was when he was fighting Super Buu[173]. Kid Buu shoots a blast trying to destroy the planet, with Vegeta noting he's going to take himself out with it if he lets it off[174]. In Dragon Ball GT, Great Ape Baby Vegeta shoots a super galick gun that he claims will destroy Earth, when Goku is hit by it, he is knocked out to the point that he can't move for a good while, Elder Kai and Shin later state that Baby is going to shoot another blast that will destroy the planet on, greatly injuring Baby if he's caught in the Blast and will kill everyone on the planet if done[175]. Frieza destroyed the entire earth, killing Vegeta in the process[176]. In the Dragon Ball Super Manga, Gohan tells Goku that he doesn't need to hold anything back and can go all out because anything that happens to the Earth can be restored with Dende and the Dragon Balls. Yet, none of Goku's all out attacks destroy the planet but just heavily causes shockwaves around it[177]. Semi-Perfect Cell unleashes a several blast that destroys several islands Android 16 notes that the attacks are just strong enough to not kill Android 18[178].

In the fight of Trunks vs. Mecha Frieza, who is far stronger than his final form, Mecha Frieza immediately goes for his strongest attack, the Supernova. In the original Z anime King Kai even states this is ten times stronger than the power he used on Namek:

  • DBZ Kai Version[179].
  • Original DBZ Anime Version[180]. The attack is directly noted that it could destroy the planet, but doesn't because Trunks catches it, when Mecha Frieza proceeds to detonate it, the explosion is massive but the planet is still intact, implying Frieza must target the core in order to destroy the planet.
