Janemba is incarnated in the Other World into the Saike Demon, a teenage ogre responsible for watching the Soul Cleansing Machine, when the latter slacks off and causes the cleanser to explode. The evil formed around the ogre which mutates him into a giant, yellow, and childlike being who begins to turn Hell into his own paradise which results in the inhabitants of Hell coming back to the living realm. Goku and Pikkon are interrupted from their match in the Other World Tournament to fight Janemba. Arriving at the Check-In Station, Pikkon shouts at Janemba to turn things back to the way they were but gets flicked instead for his effort with Pikkon saying that Janemba is stronger than he appears. Goku excited to fight the behemoth, manages to lure Janemba after this where they move down to Hell below. Pikkon being left behind to free King Yemma from the barrier that Janemba created around the Check-In Station where he throws insults at it in order to get it to crack, though the process is slow. Placing his hand to the ground, Janemba creates multiple smaller versions of himself (though they were still much bigger than Goku) and they all swarm on Goku until he throws them all off and they vanish. Janemba proceeds to use a variety of strange abilities as well as performing surprisingly nimble physical attacks that Goku proves to have little to no answer for even as a Super Saiyan. With no other option, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3. Janemba is pummeled by Goku's new found might and is seemingly defeated. However, Janemba transforms into a smaller but much more powerful and fierce looking form known as Super Janemba. Goku fights valiantly against the monster but loses the upper hand, thanks in part to Super Janemba's Bunkai Teleport ability that allows him to avoid attacks. Super Janemba is able to give Goku added pressures after he forms the Dimension Sword and appears to defeat Goku before he is saved by Vegeta. Vegeta tries his hand at defeating the monster but fares no better and it is Goku's turn to do the saving where they flee and eventually decide to fuse together while Super Janemba searches for their location. After a failed attempt at fusing, Goku and Vegeta make a second attempt while Pikkon shows up to try and buy them some time though Janemba beats him with ease, only being troubled when Pikkon insults him due to sharing the same weakness as the barrier. When Super Gogeta finally emerges, he utterly overpowers and destroys Super Janemba by purifying his pure evil energy and turning him back into the Saike Demon. |

Varies: Skill with Strongest Charged Blast (Charged Blast have one focus all of their energy into one single point[10], putting the blasts power far beyond what their peak strength is[11], allowing them to destroy things they couldn't prior with their regular attacks[12], this also allows them to use charged attacks that can stop enemies far beyond their level, such as Tien Shinhan pushing back Semi-Perfect Cell with his Neo Ki-Ko-Ho[13], along with stopping an attack shot from Buu absorbed Gotenks[14]. Strongest charged blast can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[15], with blasts capable of[16] seriously damaging/destroying[17] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[18]. Charged Blast also rely heavily on emotional states for example Gohan not believing in himself[19] was having Cell overpower him in a beam clash[20]) | At least Island level (Potency) (Fought and harmed Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku, who in this transformation was able to shake the afterlife. Treated as such a threat he should be comparable to the Buu's in power). Varies: Skills with Strongest Charged Blast

Powers and Techniques
- Chi Manipulation & Ki Manipulation (All beings in Dragon Ball[21][22][23] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[24], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[25] block attacks that would otherwise[26] kill them from[27] raising their guard[28], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[29])
- Aura
- Projection: A users ki aura can exert itself[30] as a weapon to attack[31].
- Explosive: Ki users through powering up can form an entire aura around themself, radiating their immense power[32], where depending on their immense strength, can cause them to explode their aura outwards to remove excess ki from themself[33].
- Mood Reflection: Goku and Piccolo Jr. with their auras and their stern concentration on each other reflected in their electric auras, even shooting electricity at each other[34].
- Emotional Empowerment (It's noted that ki users can receive energy through one cheering them on[35]. Ki users can be greatly increased by their emotions and beliefs, Son Goku explains that Son Gohan needs to remember the time he fought Cell and bring out all of the power he has, this way he can lose to no one[36] where it's shown during the Cell beam clash that he was holding back greatly out of fear of destroying the earth but from being cheered on and using all of his power within him, he was able to overpower Cell[37])
- Attack Reflection (All Ki users are able to reflect attacks just by being stronger than their opponent[38]. Examples include, Nappa deflecting a masenko from Son Gohan[39], Son Gohan being able to bounce back the spirit bomb[40], Son Goku deflecting a crusher ball from Jeice[41], Frieza deflecting a Final Burst Cannon from Vegeta[42], Son Goku reflecting multiple death beams back to back from Frieza[43], and Future Trunks being able to completely repel an energy blast with his hand from a Frieza Soldier just by being much stronger than them[44])
- Homing Attack (Ki users can create attacks that will home in and chase a target forever[45])
- Penetration Damage
- Weapon Creation (Ki users can create energy weapons out of their attacks[49])
- Power Absorption & Energy Transferal (Ki users can transfer their ki to others and absorb the ki given to them from others[50])
- Attack Nullification
- Power Nullification
- Ki Energy Based: Through having greater ki, one can nullify the powers done through ki attacks, such as Frieza being able to nullify a hakai ball[54], which fully destroys a target[55], though he is unable to resist a hakai ball from Toppo due to him being stronger[56], this ability however only works on ki, attacks unrelated, characters cannot resist through being stronger, such as how Vegeta, Krillin, & Son Gohan are unable to resist Guldo's psychic powers[57], along with even the likes of Son Goku[58].
- Forcefield Creation (Ki users such as Cell can generate forcefields around themselves[59]. These forcefields can be expanded[60], and used to protect others and defend against attacks far higher then the user[61])
- Super Armor (Through releasing one's ki, they enter a state known as "Hyper Mode"[62], in this state they do not flinch from weak melee attacks[63])
- Self-Destruction (Ki users in Dragon Ball are able to[64] release all of the energy within them[65] to cause a massive[66] self-destruction of energy that normally kills the user and turns them into dust[67] though one can control it to surviving but having no stamina or energy left[68])
- Dormant Power Reservoir (Ki users have a dormant power reservoir within them, as shown in arcs like the Buu Saga where Babidi saps this energy in order to use the energy to revive Buu and break his seal[69])
- Internal Destruction (Powerful ki users can overload enemies with their ki, causing them to swell up and explode from the sheer density of ki within them[70])
- Binding
- Dreaming Existence (Characters in Shin Budokai have shown to create physical bodies in alternate timelines through dreaming[73])
- Non-Standard Interaction
- Intangible Interaction: Those with ki can block intangible attacks when they focus and notices them[74].
- Space-Time Interaction (3+1-D): Characters can blast space-time distortions to close them[75].
- Healing
- Healing Singular Targets
- Advanced Healing: Ki can be used to heal beings, allowing them to survive even with half their torso[76], it can also heal from near death[77].
- Healing Singular Targets
- Resurrection
- Resurrection of the Deceased (Limited): Ki users can resurrect ones heart from death if their ki beams hit their heart, restarting it[78].
- Resurrection from Exhaustion: Can heal downed allies to give them ki back, reviving them[79])
- Intimidation & Spirit Manipulation (Ki is the manifestation of one’s lifeforce[80], along with the aura giving one the feeling of being crushed[81], exerting fear[82] into the target, sometimes making them incapable of moving as their[83] body is instinctively stuck due to the sheer difference in power[84])
- Link Manipulation & Mind Manipulation (Characters can link their ki together and train within each other’s mind enacting in image training[85])
- Vibration Manipulation
- Electricity Manipulation
- Weather Manipulation (Powerful Ki users can generate entire storms through merely powering up alone, Nappa used this in order to conjure the electricity from the storm[90]. Goku showcases this when he first turns super saiyan, causing a massive lightning storm in the background[91])
- Energy Manipulation (Ki is the latent power in one's body, this latent power allows them to form and create energy from controlling their ki, which can be used to shoot out energy blast[92])
- Explosion Manipulation (Ki attacks can create massive explosions[94], or control the ki to set off a huge explosion under the enemy[95], or in front of them[96])
- Portal Manipulation
- Non-combat applicable: Characters in GT can link their minds together to open a portal between the living realm and the other world[97].
- Heat Manipulation
- Light Manipulation (Ki can be used as a flash of light[101][102][103][104][105][106][107][108][109], Degisu seeing ki attacks be fired notes that the characters are "firing light from their hands"[110]).
- Aura
- Limited Resistance to
- Durability Negation (Ki users can focus their energy to localize an object to a specific spot to stop them from attempting to destroy their organs/insides[111])
- Soul Manipulation (Characters with a strong enough will can keep moving after getting their soul reaped, though this requires something akin to a familial or friendship empowerment)
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Skilled in Hand to Hand Combat
- Flight
- Self-Sustenance (Respiratory Self-Sustenance, Nutritional Self-Sustenance, and Restful Self-Sustenance)
- Large Size (Supersized)
- Immortality (Life and Death Immunity; Due to Janemba sealing the Yama Realm in a barrier, from warping heaven and hell, this brought back all the dead from heaven and hell)
- Regeneration (High-Mid) & Transformation (Shapeshifting; Regenerated from Super Saiyan 3 Goku destroying the top half of his body and requiring to reform his body into a new body)
- Analytical Prediction (Janemba can read movements as noted by Goku)
- Reality Warping & Law Manipulation (Warped the entire afterlife after awakening, an alternate universe, was slowly breaking down the laws governing the afterlife)
- Ice Manipulation (Froze beings by awakening)
- Sealing & Barrier Creation (Sealed the Yama Realm in a barrier)
- Transmutation & Soul Manipulation (Transformed the frozen souls of hell into mini versions of himself)

- Soul Manipulation (Janemba is an amalgamation of countless evil souls collected in the Soul Cleansing Machine)
All previous powers and abilities to a far greater extent.
- Weapon Mastery (Turned a club he found into a sword that he uses in combat for various attacks)
- Extended Blade Range (His sword can leave massive AoE cuts just from swinging in front of himself along with cut from extremely far range)

- Breath Attack (Can shoot ki attacks out of his mouth)
- Spike Manipulation (Can grab a piece of a spike and cause it to elongate and shift).
Equipment
- Dimension Sword: An Ogre's club transformed into Janemba's personal sword via Matter Manipulation.
Notable Techniques
- Flight: The ability to fly through magical prowess.
- Ki Blast: Janemba is capable of firing destructive ki blasts or projectiles from either his hands or mouth.
- Bunkai Teleport: Stemming mostly, if not completely, from his power to control reality, Janemba in his final form has the power to fade backwards while he is breaking into cubes, very similar to the Instant Transmission, only he does not leave all at once. This power actually pulls him through more portals much like Illusion Smash, it only looks like cubes. This is supported when Vegeta fires a blast at the space Janemba just left, but the blast hit him where he reappeared as if it traveled with him.
- Cosmic Illusion: A counterattack in which Janemba avoids the opponent's attack with the Bunkai Teleport and appears at their side to blast them away.
- Imprisonment Fist: Super Janemba teleports behind the opponent before punching them in the head with both fists in a vice-like fashion.
- Psychokinesis: Janemba displays this power in his giant form. He uses it to trap Goku within the colorful stones so he could perform Illusion Smash.
- Regeneration: When Pikkon curses Janemba in the movie, his body shows signs of cracking. However, Janemba is able to reform his body, healing himself of the damage.
- Cloning: Janemba is able to create small copies of himself and others, such as when he creates a clone of Goku to counter the latter's Kamehameha. Super Janemba also displays the ability to create clones of other people in the story of Shin Budokai, such as when he creates a perfect copy of Goku out of magic and later a clone of Majin Vegeta and when he creates clone of himself in the form of a sentient wall which surrounds King Yemma's castle. Janemba's small clones are named Mini Janembas in Daizenshuu 7.
- Mystic Copy: During their battle, when Goku starts getting serious, Janemba holds out his hand and creates a copy of Goku, which attacks on a similar style with his own Kamehameha technique and hits Goku. After Janemba uses his Copy Attack, in the original Japanese has Goku stating that he is "...also a wizard". Janemba's clone of Goku is named Mini Goku in Daizenshuu 7.
- Rapid Energy Cannon: After Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan, Janemba (while in his first form) uses this attack on Goku. He spins around to rapidly fire powerful, orangish-yellow spheres. Janemba spun so much that most of the ki blasts he shot at Goku formed into a huge nuke-like explosion, inflicting extreme damage.
- Altered Reality: An ability he carries through both forms, the demon can alter reality. For example, he changed the Other World Check-In Station, with King Yemma in it, into a jellybean looking like-structure along with everything else in Other World, even the tournament grounds. Janemba's ability was enough to bring back the dead and allow all deceased villains to escape from Hell, and restore Vegeta's body.
- Dimensional Hole: In his second form, the demon defended himself from one of Super Saiyan 3 Goku's ki blasts by creating portal in front of his face that swallowed the blast and redirected through another portal that formed behind Goku.
- Illusion Smash: While in his first form, the demon attacked Goku by punching into small portals big enough for his fists. By doing this, Janemba was able to hit Goku with a series of punches from a distance away. Named in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
- Shadow Kick: An aerial variation of Illusion Smash where Super Janemba stomps his foot through a portal to hit the opponent with a downward kick from another portal above their head. Named in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
- Matter Manipulation: In his final form, Janemba is apparently able to physically alter and Reconstruct and Deconstruct the matter and mass of objects. An example of this power would be best demonstrated when he grabbed a stone spike and reconstructed it into a growing in length spear-like object meant to puncture Veku through the head. He can transmute objects, as was seen when he turned a club into a sword, calling it the Dimension Sword in Budokai Tenkaichi 2, though this was destroyed in the movie by Vegeta. In his first form, Janemba can also change other objects into miniature versions of himself.
- Savage Skewer: Super Janemba grabs a stone spike which he re-configures into a growing in length spear-like object meant to puncture his opponent in the stomach. Originally used against Veku but failed due to Veku defusing as a result of their fusion timing out. Named in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
- Dimension Sword Attack: This technique is used in his final form when he stabs at his opponent through portals using his sword in similar manner to Illusion Smash.
- Dimension Sword Rush: Super Janemba fires a crescent blast of ki from his sword. It is his signature attack in Raging Blast 2.
- Brutal Destruction: A rush attack Super Janemba used against Veku and finished with a pink energy wave.
- Lightning Shower Rain: Super Janemba shapes a line of bright-white, sharp glass by running his finger through the air. Once he makes the line, it shatters and he fires all the powerful sharp shards at his enemies. Named in the Budokai Tenkaichi series.
- Spike Hell: A variation on Lightning Shower Rain, used in Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World. Super Janemba traps his opponent in a red sphere of energy, then teleports away. When he teleports back, the dimensional fragments that explode out of the portal he created fall on the opponent and cut them at lightning speed.
- Hell Gate: A green Mouth Energy Wave Super Janemba used against Super Saiyan 3 Goku in Fusion Reborn. It is named and seen as one of Super Janemba's attacks in Infinite World.
- Mystic Attack: Janemba stretches his arm to a great length to strangle Vegeta. He also appears to able to bend and curve his arm while stretching it.
- Evil Energy: Janemba is born from and maintained by evil energy. Evil energy appears as purple clouds. When enough evil energy clumps together, or takes over a person, it takes on a physical body, becoming Janemba. As shown in the Shin Budokai games, if Janemba's physical body is destroyed, he will revert to his evil energy state until evil energy clumps together or a new host is found. Evil energy appears in places and planes of existence where Janemba goes, but if Janemba's physical form is destroyed by good energy, then all the released evil energy on that plane of existence will be destroyed.
- Pre-Transformation: Janemba is Janemba's first shown form, called Janemba (Pre-Transformation) in Daizenshuu 6 and Daizenshuu 7, is chubby and extremely large. in the Funimation dub, this form is called Janempa. Janemba's intelligence also seems quite limited; the only word he knows how to say is his own name. This form is a result of Janemba's evil energy taking control of the Saike Demon. His attacks involve things such as creating miniature versions of himself and of Goku, creating dimensional portals, and shooting ki blasts from the four holes on his belly. Janemba also seems to be playful and not really trying, much like Majin Buu, which is used as a reference by Goku ("You should feel proud of yourself, only Majin Buu has pushed me this far"). Even in this base form, he, for the most part, managed to beat around Goku in both his normal and Super Saiyan forms. After causing immense destruction around him, he finally forces Goku to transform into his Super Saiyan 3 form. At this stage, Goku easily overpowers Janemba, smashing his head into his body. After being defeated, Janemba transforms.
- Clones: Janemba splits himself into many smaller versions of his Pre-Transformation state.
- Post-Transformation: Janemba is Janemba's second shown form, and is called Janemba (Post-Transformation) in Daizenshuu 6, Janemba Final Form in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, and Super Janemba in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. The form is much more powerful than his previous one - being more structured for fighting - and has the appearance similar to the Frieza Race. Janemba reaches this stage after his head is caved into his torso from Goku's attack, he then proceeds to compress himself into a smaller space, resulting in this new form. This form is able to use a deconstruction/reconstruction teleportation known as the Bunkai Teleport, portals with which he can attack through, stretch his arm at lengths, turning objects into deadly weapons, project his opponents' own Ki Blasts back at them through portals. He wields a powerful sword capable of shooting unblockable ki out in strikes, though Vegeta, who arrived to help Goku, destroyed this sword. In this more powerful form, Janemba overpowers Goku even when he is at Super Saiyan 3. Even after Vegeta shows up, Janemba is still able to effortlessly overpower both of them. However, once they successfully fuse to form Gogeta, Janemba is unable to faze them with even his most powerful punches. In a short time, Janemba is defeated effortlessly by Gogeta with the Stardust Breaker technique, restoring the Saike Demon to his original state.
Other
Standard Tactics: Janemba passively warps the laws of life and death, giving them Immortality, they will use various attacks along with magic attacks and making copies of the enemy while ultimately playing around, they will also seal opponents in the vicinity, they mainly use the more magical aspect of their reality warping powers and will punch enemies through their spatial manipulation. Once transforming, they will use their dimension sword to cut at the enemy and use various energy attacks and manipulate their own matter to teleport around and surprise the enemy while also opening portals to redirect their attacks.
Weaknesses
- Standard Ki Weaknesses: Ki users that do not have sufficient training over their emotions put their power within a mental lock, thus affects to their emotions can seriously limit their powers[113], their emotions can also have them instinctively block using the full power of their attacks out of fear of the destruction along with lack of confidence in themselves[114]. If a Ki user is inflicted with any kind of status, disease, or poison, powering up or transforming will put further strain on the body[115] and can speed up the process of poison[116]. Users of Ki Sensing cannot sense beings that invisible, even if the character is in front of them attacking them, they have a hard time countering them due to being invisible[117]. Users of Ki Sensing also have a harder time sensing the true being using illusions, requiring them to focus in on energy fields to see who is moving and who is casting the illusion[118]. Due to the nature of ki draining stamina and energy, Dragon Ball characters ki usage requires them to usually use their higher levels of energy in short bursts, using a large amount of ki overtime can greatly weaken them to the point that characters far lower then them can actually harm them with attacks[119]. Taking large amounts of damage can greatly deplete a ki users attacks, making it where attacks that would otherwise kill massively weakened characters, only pushes them back[120]. Ki users cannot put all of their ki and strength into an attack if parts of their body are broken/injured[121][122], they also lose half of their chi if something like one of their arms are badly injured or broken[123].Ki users that are able to ki sense cannot do it when their guard is dropped, such as when Vegeta was able to sneak attack Son Goku during the end of their fight in the Buu Saga[124]. Despite some ki users being able to reach blasts that can destroy planets through charged attacks or techniques[125][126][127][128], they have not shown to be able to tank such blasts themselves[129][130][131], with attacks that have[132] destroyed several[133] planets in the series[134] always killing the character. Even characters such as Majin Buu's body cannot withstand the energy of a planet exploding[135]. Using ki volley attacks come with the caveat of their aim being rather poor, making it harder to hit moving targets. If ki users are at all possessed, even by accident, their true self will be sleeping within, with the possessor needing to awaken them[136]. Even if awoken, they are immobilized and unable to move without the possessor giving them the ability to[137], even with them wanting to wake up, they cannot do it[138]. Specific waves can can suppress a ki users power, and put their consciousness to sleep[139]. If Ki users stamina is broken, they will unable to be able to continue fighting for a short while, this will also cancel out any ki attack they were attempting to use, including ultimate's[140], this also adds on that ki users guards are down while charging ultimate attacks. Their stamina can also be broken if a character moves far too fast and surprise attacks them while they're charging their ki[141]. Ki Users can also be grabbed out of charging their attacks[142]. When ki users radiate their Ki at its highest, their body is also freed the most, making them open to attacks and making them easy to possess[143].
- Unique Weaknesses: Janemba's armor and forcefield is weakened from insults.
Note
Janemba does not get a tier from warping the afterlife as the method of him doing it isn't tierable. He did this through sealing King Yemma, thus warping the laws of the afterlife and Yenma is the dictator of the dead. With Hell, he just made Hell look different.
- Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[144].
- The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
Trivia
- The dubbed version makes a large distinction between the character's two forms, calling the first form "Janempa" and the second form "Janemba." In the closing credits of the movie, Janempa and Janemba are listed as different characters, as they are voiced by different actors. The original Japanese dub makes no such distinction, using the name Janemba for the two forms.
- Janemba is very similar to Majin Buu. They both start out as overweight beings who are limited in intelligence and eventually transform into a physically fit and stronger form.
- The two have allied several times: in Super Janemba's ending in Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai's arcade mode, he and Kid Buu are shown to be able to understand each other's words, and they even become friends. In Xenoverse 2, Janemba and Kid Buu become friends in the parallel timeline featured in Parallel Quest 57: "Hell is a Picture?" where they end up turning hell into their playground. In Dragon Ball Fusions, Kid Buu and Super Janemba are allies and can use EX-Fusion to become Janembu.
- Ironically, their counterparts do not get along as Buu absorbs Janemba, however this may have been due to his personality changing from having absorbed Dabura.
- Additionally, Janemba shares Broly's love of destruction and fighting. Both Broly and Janemba team up in the opening of Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and work for the Time Breakers to cause trouble in Age 774 in Xenoverse 2.
- In Xenoverse 2, Chronoa is shown to be fully aware of Janemba's history which is not surprising given the threat possessed by his ability to manipulate dimensions and reality.
- In the Budokai Tenkaichi series, Janemba is the only character to have a base giant form, then transforming into a regular sized character and losing health when transforming.
- As part of the 1.15.00 Update DLC in Xenoverse 2, Janemba's armored sections can be color customized to make him resemble his Black Janemba form.
- When encountering Dabura in Shin Budokai - Another Road, Dabura states that Super Janemba resembles the Master of the Demon World.
- Toyotarō drew a what-if form of Janemba named "Masked King of Destruction Baby Janemba", having it as a warrior who was taken over by Janemba, who was infected by Baby and then placed under mind control by Towa and Babidi.[145]
- In the Funimation dub, Kent Williams' Janemba voice is similar to his Dr. Gero voice. However, in later media, he made him sound more demonic. The Japanese dub also had a voice change. In the movie, Janemba's voice was deep like in the Funimation dub, but in later media, it's high like Kid Buu's voice.
- In Xenoverse 2, Janemba is one of the two movie villains which does not serve as a mentor to the Future Warrior. The other is Android 13.
- His weakness to insults is similar to that of the Metalman race introduced in Dragon Ball Super. However in Janemba's case, insults can inflict physical damage upon him as his body (and his altered reality constructs) are literally weak to insults, while in the case of Metalman, it is more of a mental handicap/weakness.
- Janemba is the third main movie villain to have a weakness, after Bio-Broly (solidifies when exposed to salt water), and Lord Slug (Namekian weakness to whistling).

Q: What about the planetary feats in Dragon Ball?
A: Planetary feats are normally done through their strongest charged blast, where they can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[146], with blasts capable of[147] seriously damaging/destroying[148] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[149], though they themselves are never capable of leaving this unscathed.
Frieza throws a destroy the planet death ball attack but it doesn't destroy the planet. Goku then interestingly notes the reason the planet didn't blow up is because Frieza was too scared of getting caught in the blast[150] . Vegeta's final flash is noted it's going to destroy the planet and Perfect Cell, who is beyond Vegeta, couldn't tank the blast and had to dodge it last second or it would've killed him[151]. Goku's kamehameha was going to destroy the earth and Cell cannot tank this blast, needing to regenerate[152]. Semi-Perfect Cell explosion was consistently noted it was going to destroy the planet and Gohan and it killed Goku[153]. Ultimate Gohan dies to an attack that destroys the earth, his guard was up too since this was when he was fighting Super Buu[154]. Kid Buu shoots a blast trying to destroy the planet, with Vegeta noting he's going to take himself out with it if he lets it off[155]. In Dragon Ball GT, Great Ape Baby Vegeta shoots a super galick gun that he claims will destroy Earth, when Goku is hit by it, he is knocked out to the point that he can't move for a good while, Elder Kai and Shin later state that Baby is going to shoot another blast that will destroy the planet on, greatly injuring Baby if he's caught in the Blast and will kill everyone on the planet if done[156]. Frieza destroyed the entire earth, killing Vegeta in the process[157]. In the Dragon Ball Super Manga, Gohan tells Goku that he doesn't need to hold anything back and can go all out because anything that happens to the Earth can be restored with Dende and the Dragon Balls. Yet, none of Goku's all out attacks destroy the planet but just heavily causes shockwaves around it[158]. Semi-Perfect Cell unleashes a several blast that destroys several islands Android 16 notes that the attacks are just strong enough to not kill Android 18[159].
In the fight of Trunks vs. Mecha Frieza, who is far stronger than his final form, Mecha Frieza immediately goes for his strongest attack, the Supernova. In the original Z anime King Kai even states this is ten times stronger than the power he used on Namek:
- DBZ Kai Version[160].
- Original DBZ Anime Version[161]. The attack is directly noted that it could destroy the planet, but doesn't because Trunks catches it, when Mecha Frieza proceeds to detonate it, the explosion is massive but the planet is still intact, implying Frieza must target the core in order to destroy the planet.
