Shadow Candy
Shadow Candy is the final evolved form of Shadow Cat from Five Nights at Candy's 3. He appears as an Easter egg in Five Nights at Candy's and Five Nights at Candy's 2, and serves as a secret final antagonist in Five Nights at Candy's Remastered. He is controlled by the spirit of the actor who portrayed Cat at the Rat and Cat Theater.
This character has mature themes and concepts, thus those of young age are ill-advised to look through these. | |

In the original Five Nights at Candy's, Shadow Candy have a rare chance of appearing on the Main Stage if Candy and Cindy were already gone. In Five Nights at Candy's Remastered, Shadow Candy mainly appears in Night Null, where it tries to drain Mary's battery in order to initiate it's death jumpscare. In Five Nights at Candy's 2, Shadow Candy is in some of the end of night minigames, leading the animatronics to a destination or goal for said minigame. |
Appearance
General Description: Shadow Candy's appearance is identical to Candy the Cat, with a few distinct alterations depending on the game.
Five Nights at Candy's 1 / Five Nights at Candy's 2: He has been re-colored to a very dark shade of purple, almost black. His eyes resemble the Phantom Animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's 3. He has glowing teeth, like the Shadow Animatronics from Five Nights at Freddy's 2. He sports five fingers on each hand.
Five Nights at Candy's 3 (Shadow Cat): His appearance is identical to Monster Cat, re-colored to a dark purple. He shares his appearance mainly with his sharpened teeth and fangs, which weren't present in the original Cat from Five Nights at Candy's 2. This form only appears in minigame form.
Five Nights at Candy's Remastered: He looks very identical to Candy, but sports an entirely purplish-black color. The ends of his fingers have become claw-like, and he still possesses five fingers on each hand. He can severely glitch horizontally whenever Mary stares at him on one of the cameras.
Goals
- Kill Mary (Failed).

Nothing notable.
Notable Techniques
Jumpscare
Shadow Candy effectively sneak attacks Mary Schmidt.
They quick attack which likely in-universe catches Mary off guard.
However, in Shadow Candy's case, it uses its jumpscare to reset the night and drain power from Mary.
Once the power reaches 0, it does its jumpscare where it causes a glitched game over screen[14].
Other
Standard Tactics
He rarely appears on the Main Stage if both Candy and Cindy are gone, looking at him through the camera will have the Main Stage change some of the coloration to a dark purple, such as the decorative stars. He will then appear by the window after a couple of seconds, if the ticket booth door is not closed then he will crash the game.
He has the same behavior as he did in Five Nights at Candy's. He also appears in Night Null, which can be unlocked by entering the extras menu and zooming in on RAT's face for five seconds to activate a code that can be entered into the custom night. After that, going to Cam 1 will cause him to appear for the first time, and once the monitor is flipped down, he will spawn in the office and jumpscare Mary Schmidt, beginning his special night.
Shadow Candy cannot actually kill Mary while power remains. However, every time he jumpscares or knocks on a closed door, battery power is lost: 2% per knock and 6% upon a jumpscare. Additionally, if Shadow Candy manages to attack Mary, he will not kill them but instead reverse time by an hour. This can be undone by finding the Origami cat in the cameras; finding it resets the time but does not restore lost power. If Mary runs out of power, Shadow Candy will instantly kill them. After completing the secret night, a teaser image for Forgotten Candy plays, and Null is unlocked for every other night.
Shadow Cat, the first and original form of Shadow Candy, makes its debut in the Dreamscape minigames on Nights 3, 4, and 5. It only appears through its jumpscare, which triggers when Mary remains in the darkness for too long.
Weaknesses
- Standard Animatronic Weaknesses: If it hits 6 AM, the animatronic no longer targets and resorts to its daytime functions[15]. They can be lured away by the sound of phone calls[12].
- Unique Weaknesses: If stared at on the camera he will return back to camera 13[14].
Trivia
- The method Mary uses to summon Shadow Candy to the Office is strikingly similar to how Golden Freddy is summoned in the Five Nights at Freddy's series, though Shadow Candy never had a kill screen for looking at him for too long. The two also seem to be fended off in the same way.
- Shadow Candy is one of the only animatronics not to appear in the Extras menu, the others being the Markiplier Animatronic, Dawko Marionette, and Vinnie.
- He is the only animatronic not to appear in Emil's "Thank You Too!" image.
- He is also one of the only animatronics not to outright kill Mary, the other two being the Markiplier Animatronic and The Penguin.
- However, he does cause the game to crash if Mary observes him for too long.
- As confirmed in the Extras Menu of Five Nights at Candy's 3, Shadow Candy originally had a jumpscare image and a texture for being inside Mary's office, rather than appearing in the window.
- While it is believed that Shadow Candy's purpose is to be a protector, this is not true, since he murdered two twin children as The Cat. It is likely that the reason he guided Old Candy to the man punishing the child was to cause chaos, resulting in Old Candy being retired.
- The way Shadow Candy attacks Mary from the right and left doors references his unused texture in Five Nights at Candy's.
- Shadow Candy has no visible relation to Shadow Cat from Five Nights at Candy's 3. However, Emil Macko has stated that Shadow Candy is the Cat's soul, in his incorporeal out-of-animatronic form. He started off as Shadow Cat, but by the first game, he had evolved into what he is now.
- In the remastered version, before Night Null starts, Shadow Candy appears in a position very similar to where he stood on the Main Stage in the first game, where he was just an easter egg. Whether this is a recreation or a reference to his appearance in the first game is unknown.
- Unlike Shadow Rat, Shadow Cat makes no appearance in the "Shadow Challenge."
- With this absence, Shadow Cat completely lacks a 3D model. Note that the model in his infobox is fan-made.
- Shadow Cat takes most of its appearance from the Monster Cat of FNaC 3 and "The CAT" of FNaC 2, and does not have a visible sprite in the Deepscape. It is only seen through its jumpscare.
- Shadow Cat has no visible relation to Shadow Candy from the previous two games. However, Emil Macko has stated that Shadow Candy is the CAT's soul, in his incorporeal out-of-animatronic form. He started off as Shadow CAT, but by the first game, he had evolved into what he is now.
