Five Nights at Candy's
Five Nights at Candy's is an indie fan-game series consisting of point and click survival horror games. The main goal in each one is for the player to survive the night from 12 AM to 6 AM while avoiding the enemy of the specific game.
An upcoming game, Five Nights at Candy's 4 will be a free-roaming point and click survival horror game.
Background
The plot of the first three games covers Mary Schmidt or someone related to her such as Marylin Schmidt and her connection with the Candy's animatronics, starting in the 1960s at the Rat & Cat Theater.
For the first game, it covers Mary as a Night Guard working at Candy's Burger and Fries where she learns from the junior manager that the Animatronics act weird around adults and that she's tasked with making sure no one breaks in while also making sure the Animatronics don't get into her office. After doing this for six nights, she is fired on the seventh night for the reasoning of tampering with the animatronics and wearing too much perfume. In this game, the events of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 happened and can be seen in a newspaper if the player gets a game over.
In the sequel, the player instead controls Mary's daughter, Marylin Schmidt, who is tasked with staying at an abandoned factory for five nights after losing a bet. It's implied at the end of the game that she burns down the entire factory with the animatronics in it before escaping it.
In the third game, the player is back to controlling Mary where it covers her repressed trauma. Mary is in her bedroom fending off against the nightmares of the Rat and the Cat that is later revealed to be the manifestation of her guilt for thinking she's the cause of the men in the rat and cat costumes getting killed by the Puppeteer.

Common Misconceptions
Mary Schmidt and Mike Schmidt are related
While many people claim Mary Schmidt's brother to be Mike Schmidt or that her husband is Mike Schmidt, the protagonist of the first Five Nights at Freddy's, there has never been confirmed a relation between the two.
From what's seen, her husband is unnamed and her brother is never depicted to be Mike Schmidt.
Power of the Verse
The verse has many human characters dealing with somewhat superhuman animatronics. There are some supernatural elements and abilities with spirits possessing robots, and abilities such as Teleportation, Astral Projection, Technological Manipulation, Text Manipulation, etcetera.
Explanations
Dreamscape
The dreamscape[1] is an area where one is somewhat dreaming[1]. One can communicate with one in the dreamscape from the deepscape and vice versa. To truly dream, Mary goes to sleep within the dreamscape to face off against the nightmares[1]. The room in the Dreamscape gets more and more filled the more Mary remembers[2].
Deepscape
The Deepscape is a place where Mary's deepest memories are[1]. It comprises of glowing particles that make up a path so that Mary can safely travel[1] as traversing off the path is where the shadows will get her[1]. The Deepscape's design changes with each night, where later nights the Monster Cat spawns where it causes a timer to count down whenever Mary steps off the path[2]. When Mary becomes familiar with the unfamiliar, the deepscape has dream trees grow which serve as guides to let Mary know where she is[2].
