Background

SCP-3812 is a reality-altering entity, making it extremely difficult to describe accurately due to its influence on reality itself. It is known that SCP-3812 was once Sam Howell, a non-anomalous African-American man believed to have died in 1996. Shortly after his death, witnesses observed SCP-3812 emerging from its grave before disappearing. The entity came to the attention of the Foundation after its presence led to the destruction of an apartment building in Warsaw, Poland. SCP-3812's constantly shifting appearance, resulting from its anomalous abilities, makes tracking it nearly impossible. Currently, its location is recorded at 26°26’49”S 137°56’27”W in the South Pacific Ocean.

SCP-3812 exhibits severe symptoms of an advanced form of Eigenmann-Vietor schizophrenia, characterized by extreme paranoia, mood disturbances, a distorted sense of reality, and hallucinations that include hearing, seeing, and feeling things that aren’t there.

Since SCP-3812 was first discovered over twenty years ago, these symptoms have progressively worsened. Initially, SCP-3812 interacted with Foundation staff and sought assistance to manage its condition. However, it has become increasingly reclusive and unpredictable, often altering reality to match its distorted perception. As a result, it’s difficult to track how often these alterations occur, except in cases where residual signs are left behind.

Containing SCP-3812 is impossible through conventional methods, as it alters reality to remove any confinement or relocate itself. Even attempts to sedate or neutralize it are ineffective since it changes reality to negate any threats. Consequently, containment efforts focus on managing the damage caused by its reality-altering episodes rather than confining the entity.

Over time, SCP-3812’s physical form has become less human-like, taking on various shapes. Additionally, it causes distortions in space and time around it, occasionally accompanied by violent outbursts capable of massive destruction. While SCP-3812 is usually passive, these outbursts are deadly to any nearby life and can lead to large-scale damage if not controlled.
