Background

Princess Peach (casually Peach, usually known as Princess Toadstool outside of Japan prior to Super Mario 64) is a main character in the Mario franchise and the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. Peach first appeared in Super Mario Bros. and was created by Shigeru Miyamoto to be the damsel-in-distress throughout most Mario games. She resides in her castle along with many Toads, who act as her loyal servants. Her kingdom is often attacked by the Koopa Troop, a group led by Bowser. She is the love interest of Mario.

Peach has an affinity for the color pink, which accents her gentle personality and kind temperament. Peach's gentle nature and role as the damsel in distress are often represented with her heart abilities and crown emblem. Peach's initial design was said to represent her stubborn yet cute appearance.

Since her debut, Peach has appeared in installments related to the Mario game series for over three decades. She has appeared in more games than any other female character in video game history. Peach is occasionally a supporting character in mainstream games and almost always playable in spin-off installments. Her most prominent appearance to date is as the heroine of Super Princess Peach and the most recent mainstream game where she appears as a playable character rather than a damsel-in-distress is Super Mario 3D World.

Transformation, Dimensional Travel (The Magic Potion can create doors to parallel universes), Summoning (Eating 5 cherries gives Peach a Starman. With the Yoshi Cookie, which summons Yoshi. Can summon a Chain Chomp, Porcupuffer, Thwomp, Ghost Shroom. With the Event Block, can summon Boo, Koopa Troopa or Bowser. With the Duel Glove, when used, the player using it will summon a Goomba. The player will then choose an opponent to duel in a duel minigame. After this, the player will have the option to choose how much is to be dueled for. With the Magic Lamp, when used, the player summons the Mushroom Genie. With the Boo Bell, it summons a boo who will steal a Power Star from another player. With the Lucky Lamp, when used, the Mushroom Jeanie will appear. She will then move the Star from its current location to somewhere else, essentially making it the counter-part of the Magic Lamp. With the Bowser Phone, when used, the player will call Bowser. Bowser will then ask who is calling him, the player chooses one of the players. Bowser will then perform his events to that player as if the player landed on a Bowser Space. With the Lucky Charm, when a player uses this item, they will summon Game Guy. Game Guy will then take all of the player's Coins, and a Game Guy minigame will be initiated. This can also be used to force another player to play a Game Guy minigame. If a Chomp Call is used, four small Chain Chomps appear, surround the host that holds the Star in the Star Space, and scare them away to another space.
