<tabber widths=”400”>
|-|Weapons= | |||
===Swords=== | |||
*'''Recruit's Sword:''' The Recruit's Sword resembles the Hero's Sword and Oshus's Sword from the game's predecessors, The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass respectively. This dangerous yet unremarkable weapon is obtained in the training room of Hyrule Castle, as Link requires a Sword in order to make his way from the Hyrule Castle's back door toward the Tower of Spirits, through a pathway full of enemies. Russell, the captain of the Hyrule Castle Guards, gives it to Link after he successfully completes a basic sword training exercise. It is eventually replaced by the Lokomo Sword.
*'''Lokomo Sword:''' The Lokomo Sword is a powerful sword capable of defeating the demon Malladus, and contains the sacred energy of the Force. It has also shown to be able to attack Phantoms without the need for tears of light.
===Shields=== | |||
*'''Shield:''' A regular shield used to block various projectiles and enemy attacks.
*'''Shield of Antiquity:''' Link’s shield in Phantom Hourglass, and passed down to the later Link in Spirit Tracks. It is just as durable as the Hylian Shield. It cannot be absorbed by Like-Likes
''' | |-|Equipment= | ||
*'''Boomerang:''' If thrown, it goes forward, and homes back onto Link. Link can also throw it whichever direction he pleases and into certain patterns. Those who are hit are either damaged or stunned.
*'''Bomb:''' Bombs can be either placed, thrown, or rolled, and explode after a set period of time.
*'''Bow:''' Link can deftly shoot arrows from it. He also has a Light element to his arrows, with Light arrows he can pierce evil.
*'''Rabbit Net:''' The net is given to Link by Bunnio. It is used to catch rabbits that are scattered throughout the land of Hyrule. The Rabbit Net is not a regularly usable item; it is automatically readied after Link hits a wild Rabbit with one of the cannonballs from his Spirit Train. Sometimes, the Rabbit Net is simply too slow in comparison to the speed of the Rabbit in question, and a careful technique must be used to anticipate the Rabbit's next resting point in order to catch it. Once captured, they can be taken to Rabbitland Rescue for a cumulative reward.
*'''Spirit Flute:''' It is stated by Anjean she entrusted the Spirit Flute to Tetra long ago when the feisty pirate captain first arrived on the shores of the land. Tetra promised that she and her descendants would use the Spirit Flute to protect the land, as she was the heir to the ancient royal line of Hyrule that would come to rule over the land. For many years, Tetra and Anjean carried on a close friendship, and Tetra would often play the Spirit Flute for her granddaughter, the reigning Princess Zelda at the time of Spirit Tracks, when she felt troubled or worried. Upon meeting the reigning Princess Zelda, Anjean notes the many similarities between the princess and her grandmother, as well as instructing she and Link to keep the Spirit Flute with them as it will aid them in restoring the Spirit Tracks. Link can learn a total of five songs, all of which are taught by Air Stones scattered throughout the various villages and sanctuaries in Hyrule. All of the following songs are recorded in Link's inventory, with the exception of the Lokomo Songs, which only function when the young hero is playing along with another Lokomo.
**'''Song of Awakening:''' Awakens Gossip Stones.
**'''Song of Healing:''' Calls a fairy to heal Link once per dungeon (resets when Link leaves and reenters).
**'''Song of Discovery:''' Reveals hidden treasure in the ground.
**'''Song of Light:''' Reveals hidden diamond-shaped objects that shine beams of light when uncovered.
**'''Song of Birds:''' Calls nearby birds to Link.
**'''Lokomo Songs:''' Special duets used to energize the Spirit Tracks leading from the sanctuaries to the temples.
*'''Whip:''' A whip that can latch onto enemies, steal their stuff, strip them of their weapons and armor, and latch onto other things. The Whip can be found in the Ocean Temple in Spirit Tracks. Its main use is to swing from poles and for puzzles that require the transfer of certain Swords from one place to another. It can also be used to remove thorns from Trees that block Link's path as well as being able to hold on to flying propellers to travel to otherwise unreachable areas. When summoning Birds by playing the "Song of Birds", Link can use the Whip to latch on to the wooden bars they hold, which allows him to be carried by them. The Whip can attack certain Chuchus that Link cannot attack with his Sword. It can also take the Shield and armor away from certain enemies. The Whip is required during the fight against Phytops, the Boss of the Ocean Temple, where it is used to pick up and throw thorns to damage the creature's weak point.
*'''Whirlwind:''' A pinwheel like item that creates small tornadoes that lift things into the air. The Whirlwind can be found in the Forest Temple. It has the ability to pick up and move small items, like Small Keys. It can also blow around and stun lighter enemies, and send Phantom Zelda flying through short distances. The Whirlwind can be used as a propeller when Link moves through water while being on a Block, as well as extinguishing Torches. When Link is holding the Whirlwind, it brings up a line with which he can aim. Link must then blow into the Whirlwind to send a gust of Wind across the screen. The longer he blows, the farther it travels, dying after a few seconds.
*'''Sand Rod:''' A magical rod that can create large pillars of sand. In Spirit Tracks, the Sand Wand is obtained after beating three Stalfos Warriors in the Sand Temple. It can raise walls wherever the green orb of the Sand Wand touches, which is controlled by the Stylus. Each cube-shaped segment of the sand walls will stay intact for four seconds. Link can use it below his feet to raise himself to higher ground, as well as to roll boulders, flip puzzle blocks, trap certain enemies, find items hidden beneath sand, and allow Phantom Zelda to move across sand where she would normally sink. The Sand Wand's utility is also quicksand-proof, allowing the young hero to avoid sinking in deep-rooted sand. The Sand Wand is also extensively used to solve various block puzzles in the Ends of the Earth Station located in the Fire Realm.
*'''Compass of Light:''' The Compass of Light is found beneath the altar of the Tower of Spirits. It is a special golden compass that uses the power of the Spirits of Good and has the ability to track the location of the Demon Train. Since Chancellor Cole didn't know where to find the Demon Train, he tricked Byrne into making this special compass to find the Demon Train in the Dark Realm and thus be able to free Malladus from his imprisonment. When Anjean reveals she does not know where Malladus could be after his escape with Cole to the Dark Realm via the Demon Train, Byrne reveals that there is a special set of tracks located beneath the altar of the Tower of Spirits that leads to the Compass of Light. As it uses the power of the spirits, neither Cole nor Malladus can touch the Compass of Light. Once obtained, the Compass of Light reveals the tracks leading into the Dark Realm, which are located just west of Aboda Village in the Forest Realm. This enables Link and Princess Zelda to go after Cole and Malladus for a final confrontation to restore Zelda to her body and destroy the villains.
*'''Rail Maps:''' Maps used to restore the different realms tracks.
|-|Helpers= | |||
*'''Zelda:''' Zelda is Link's guide in Spirit Tracks, she is an invisible spirit that can possesses people, give Link advice, and use Phantoms and such to help Link fight in battle.
|-|Pickups= | |||
*'''Heart:''' A collectible that restores his life.
*'''Tears of Light:''' In Spirit Tracks, each section of the Tower of Spirits contains three Tears of Light that must be collected to power up Link's Sword. Once all three Tears have been obtained, Link can strike a Phantom in the back, which stuns it. Princess Zelda's spirit can then possess the Phantom while it is in this state. After Link obtains the Lokomo Sword, he no longer needs to use the Tears of Light. The Lokomo Sword itself is infused with divine energy, and can allow Zelda to possess Phantoms in the same way Link's previous Sword did. In the Dark Realm, Tears of Light appear on the Spirit Tracks. If Link passes through one on the Spirit Train, it gains temporary invincibility, as well as a significant speed boost whenever Link blows the whistle. With this upgrade, it is possible to destroy Armored Trains. The Tears of Light here will eventually reappear after being collected.

It is given to Link by Princess Zelda so that he can disguise himself and be able to pass by the guards unnoticed as the two escape from Hyrule Castle. It serves as a replacement to the Engineer's Clothes, which Link can reobtain later in the game when he obtains 15 of the 20 stamps in Niko's Stamp Book. There is no functional difference between Link's outfits in this game, and switching between the two can be done at any time by talking to Niko.

Summary
The Link in Spirit Tracks is the ninth Link appearing in The Legend of Zelda series, and the second Link chronologically in the Adult Timeline branch.
In Spirit Tracks, taking place many years after the Hero of Winds found the new Hyrule, Link is a child who lives with Niko in Aboda Village. He is an apprentice of a master engineer, named Alfonzo, who has helped him in order to become a Royal Engineer. When Zelda presents Link with a certificate for this achievement,[104] she also gives him a letter, telling him to meet with her, to discuss her suspicions over the mysterious Chancellor Cole as well as the disappearing Spirit Tracks. When Link sneaks Zelda out of the Castle, they meet up with Alfonzo, who escorts them to the Tower of Spirits by train. However, as the Spirit Tracks begin to fade, they crash, and are then ambushed by the chancellor, who attacks the trio. Link and his master are knocked unconscious while Zelda's spirit is separated from her body, which is seized by Cole's apprentice, Byrne. Link awakes back in Hyrule Castle to discover that Zelda is now a ghost and that Link is the only person who can see her. After visiting Anjean in the Tower of Spirits, he agrees to help her in defeating Chancellor Cole and recover her body in the process.
After Link and Zelda travel up to the Tower of Spirits to recover a Rail Map, a Phantom Knight attacks him, but Zelda charges at the Phantom just in time to take control of its body. After this, Link and Zelda begin their journey to restore the Tower of Spirits and the Spirit Tracks, traveling across the overworld using the Spirit Train that is granted to Link by Anjean. Whenever Link returns to the Spirit Tower to obtain another Rail Map, Princess Zelda possesses a Phantom's armor in order to aid the young hero. As the pair continues to travel, Link and Zelda establish a close friendship as the two get to know each other better.
Once Princess Zelda recovers her body from Malladus with the aid of Link, the two together face up against the Demon King, who has now taken over Chancellor Cole's body. Together, Link and Zelda deal the final blow on Malladus using the Lokomo Sword, and shortly after, Anjean and the rest of the Lokomos depart towards the heavens. As they leave, Anjean entrusts Princess Zelda to watch over the land, asking Link to help her as well.[105] Link and Zelda are then seen holding hands as they witness the departure of the Lokomos. Unlike other instances where Link departs from the land after having saved it, the young hero stays in Hyrule to fulfill Anjean's request, where he continues to be either an engineer or a warrior, depending on which Link chose. This is witnessed when Princess Zelda gets up from her seat in her office and waves out the window after having heard either a train's whistle or the clanking of swords.
