"Mature Content"
This character or verse has mature themes and concepts, thus those of young age are ill-advised to look through these.

Alice, do you truly wish to return to the outside world? The System forbids me from leaving the manor. In other words, I have never beheld reality... Listening to the wishes of my guests made me think... That for you humans, to leave this manor... Is to let go of great happiness...
Foolish child... She has no idea... That page 000 is made to be unreachable... Still, I suppose you could say... That her foolishness is proof of her humanity... The book requires 235 more people for it to be complete... Just how long will it take...? I've had enough of this... How I wish to begin the party already... I've grown sick and tired... of having to keep granting the ridiculous wishes of these humans. And then... I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice. Heh... Heh Heh... Heh heh heh...

Background

The Serpent is the head of the manor Alice wakes up in. His goal is to fill the place with 666 guests, so that he may be able to host a "party" to celebrate its completion.

He wishes to escape his prison so he can be worshipped by humanity. However, upon gaining his wish, he learns that humanity has already been destroyed long before he escaped and he only gets to exist outside his prison for a few short minutes before Alice absorbs him just as she did the rest of humanity.

Powers and Techniques

All of the people's wishes are merely the result of him bringing them into the book storing all of their souls inside of him[29], where all their anger, sadness, joy, strength, weakness, wishes, prayers, all truth is turning into words, and all truth is being carved into her[30], thus he gets:

Consumption (Metaphysical Consumption) & Fusionism (The Book consumes people, binding all of the flesh and souls together merging all into one being of immense power[31]), Madness Manipulation (For every wish granted to one the book has consumed, its magick drives their heart madder and they grow ever distant to their neighbors and the outside world[32]), Corrosion Manipulation (Upon one leaving their room, their body will start to rot and once it spreads across their body, their body will crumble[33]. This was shown when Alice repeatedly kept resurrecting a new body every time her body kept rotting away[34]. The desire poison grows more severe the farther one is from their room, making it where the lower the page number, the faster travel rots the body, where those in the rooms below room 100 can't even enter their neighbors' without crumbling[35]), Text Manipulation & Transmutation (If the body compeltely rots away, then the persons soul will be dragged back to their room and they will become words[36], further noted by Serpent that those who die in the book turn into words[37]), Magic (The book contains magicks as a means to fufill people's desires[38]), Wish Granting & Reality Warping (All wishes shall come true within the pages of the books[39]), this includes:

Creation (Alice wished for food and received a large amount of food[40]), Universal Creation (Guest 324 made a world where they could "smell the universe"[41]), Resurrection, Space-Time Manipulation, & Pocket Reality Manipulation (Guest 430 created a room where he could endlessly kill the same person day after day[42]), Fire Manipulation (Everytime Guest 430 killed the guy, it would cause fire all around his body[43]), Physics Manipulation & Gravity Manipulation (Guest 413's room has a different laws of physics where Alice was falling into the sky[44]), Flight (Guest 413 wish to become a bird, to be free from the meaningless borders drawn across the ground, to be free from the unslightly conflicts of man[45]), Explosion Manipulation (Guest 413's wish had constant bombardments on the ground to symbolize the "unsightly conflicts of man"[46]), Time Manipulation & Time Stop (Guest 385 gained the abilities to stop and resume time through his wish[47]), Weapon Creation (Guest 385 has the ability to create weapons with his wish[48]), Empathic Manipulation (Guest 385 made a room where everyone will fall for him and respect him[49]), Smoke Manipulation (Guest 366 wished for a world where he could endlessly smoke, having smoek come out of his eyes, mouth, and fingers[50]), Transformation (Shapeshifting; Guest 339 turned himself into a talking tree[51]. Guest 359 turned himself into a musical instrument[52]), Technology Manipulation (Guest 312 made a world purely of them singing on TV, with TVs being everywhere[53]. Guest 255 had a world where he had technologically advanced devices and cloning[54]), Size Manipulation & Duplication (Guest 330 made a world where there are dozens of giant naked woman[55]), Erasure (Guest 285 wished for a world where time did not exist[56]), Immortality (Ageless; Guest 276 made a world where she could live forever[57]), Plant Manipulation (Guest 276 could control the plants in her world[58])

Equipment

Through his knowledge and pages, he has at least 666 rooms with an endless amount of equipment

Notable Techniques

  • Energy Blast: Serpent shot out a massive energy blast from his mouth.

Other

Standard Tactics:

  • In the Book: Serpent in the book does not attack, merely waiting for 666 rooms to be filled.
  • Outside the Book: Once the party is complete and Serpent is outside, he begins destroying all that's near him and shooting out a massive blast of energy.

Weaknesses: The system forbids the Serpent from leaving the manor[59].

Note

Trivia

  • While Alice is loosely based off Alice from the Lewis Carrol novel Alice in Wonderland. The Serpent could be seen as a loose allusion to the Chesire Cat from the same novel, due to his relationship with Alice.
