Background

Jevil is a Darkner and antagonist in Chapter 1 of Deltarune, in which he serves as the first bonus boss encountered. He is one of the holders of a Shadow Crystal.

Combat Speed: Supersonic (Can keep up with and tag Kris, Susie, and Ralsei)

Lifting Strength: Class 10 (Comparable to Berdly, who can carry around a statue of himself and Queen)

Striking Strength: Room Class

Durability: Room level (Can take multiple hits from Kris, Susie, and Ralsei)

Stamina: Very High (Can seemingly fight Kris, Susie, and Ralsei for an endless amount of time. Needed to be hypnotized 10 times to start feeling tired yet could keep fighting at his full power for extended periods of time)

Range: Tens of Meters with attacks

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Immortality (Type 1 and 6. Claimed to have been over 100 years as well as being unkillable, which is supported by Kris' and co.'s attempts at trying to kill him being futile and only tiring him out), Longevity, Sheer Will (Could keep fighting despite being "truly exhausted"), Transformation and Large Size (Type 1. Can transform himself into a giant Devilsknife), Flight (Can float in midair), Body Control and Elasticity (Hitting him causes his head to spring off and reattach to his body), Afterimage Creation (Can causally make afterimages by moving), Invisibility (Can flicker from being visible to invisible), Reality Warping (Could warp the area where he is fought in), Personal Domain and BFR (When one encounters a monster they get into a fight, a FIGHT is an encounter in a monster's personal domain allowing them to fight humans, this has various rules such as turn-based combat), Soul Manipulation and Essence Manipulation (Can directly attack the SOUL), Curtain Fire, Energy Projection, Homing Attack (Can make his projectiles home in on the SOUL), Summoning and Explosion Manipulation (Of his scythes, which he can cause to explode), Duplication and Teleportation (Can make temporary clones of himself as well as teleport), Chaos Manipulation (Can seemingly cause chaos at will), Air Manipulation (Fighting him is said to be like being caught in a whirlwind and the air was described as being "free"), Nothingness Manipulation (Made his prison vanish after his fight), Transformation and Statistics Amplification (Can lend himself to someone as an equippable gear item to use as a weapon in his devil's Devil's Knife form. He can also give someone a tail like his called Jevil's Tail that can be equipped as armor. Both of these increase some statistics when equipped), Resistance to Physical Attacks (All monsters bodies are attuned to their SOUL thus only attacks that can affect their SOUL can affect them), Soul Manipulation & Essence Manipulation (Can take hits to the SOUL), Mind Manipulation and Sleep Manipulation (Needed to be hypnotized 10 times to even become vulnerable to a sleep inducement spell)

Standard Equipment: Devilsknife and Jevil's Tail

Intelligence: Above Average (Is quite knowledgeable about the Dark World and is a skilled combatant, having created the most complex and versatile attacks among bosses)

Standard Tactics: Jevil will fire an array of projectiles that will home in on the opponent's SOUL.

Weaknesses: Doesn't take fights seriously and prefers having fun. As with all Darkners, he is restricted to his own Dark World and will turn into stone when venturing outside, or turn into a basic object if he is brought in the Light World.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Spades: A projectile in the form of a spade symbol. They can be big or small and Jevil sometimes traps his opponents in a circle of them.
  • Diamonds: A projectile in the form of a diamond symbol. Jevil likes to send a barrage of them at his opponent from below.
  • Hearts: A projectile in the form of a heart symbol.
  • Clubs: A projectile in the form of a clubs symbol. Can shoot 3 small white orb projectiles from their tip.
  • Devilsknife: A scythe which Jevil either turns in to or summons. Can summon several of them at once. They either fly across the battlefield quickly or move up and down in a rotation with 3 other Devilsknife to hit Jevil's opponent. The biggest Devilsknife was shown to be building sized. Devilsknives can create large beams of light upon hitting the ground. He can also summon a red Devilsknife that is larger than normal ones and moves in a straight line sideways.
  • Ducks: Summons a barrage of slow-moving large ducks that go up and down towards their opponent. One of the ducks can have Everyman's head. The implications of this are unknown, but the callback is appreciated at least.
  • Card Boxes: Boxes that rain down from the sky that release a flurry of Spades, Diamonds, Hearts, or Clubs.
  • CHAOS BOMB: Jevil unleashes several different patterns of attacks at once, including all four suits.
  • FINAL CHAOS: Jevil increases the bullet box's size to include the entire room and make several Devilsknifes fall from the sky, each of them creating upward lasers upon impact, culminating in a giant scythe falling down and crashing on the battlefield.
