Background Born in Age 756, Videl grew up training in martial arts with the aspiration of matching her father's skill, though she was unknowingly already more capable and powerful than he was. At age eleven, she won the Junior Division of the 24th World Martial Arts Tournament. Her mother left the family at some point, leaving Videl and Mr. Satan alone together, though they had many servants to help around the house. Her father was overly protective, especially when it came to boys, and would only allow her to date someone stronger than him, which Videl believed was an impossible standard. Her mother had passed away from a heart illness when Videl was still a baby, so she was raised entirely by her father. Dragon Ball Z Videl watched the Cell Games like the rest of the world. However, when Gohan and Cell clashed, the ZTV camera equipment was destroyed, so neither she nor anyone else saw the actual outcome. After the battle, the official story was that Mr. Satan had defeated Cell, and Videl accepted it like everyone else. Still, part of her doubted the truth behind her father's claims, though that suspicion wouldn't be confirmed until seven years later. This was also the first time she saw Gohan and the other Z Fighters, though she would not meet them in person until the same amount of time had passed. Majin Buu Saga In her free time, Videl assists the police and fights crime around Satan City. She became suspicious of Gohan after meeting him on his first day at Orange Star High School and began following him to learn more. She eventually uncovered his identity as the Great Saiyaman. In the manga, she easily tricked him into revealing himself by asking how he had left class, and he answered without thinking. In the anime, she discovered the truth while helping him return a baby pteranodon to its parents. In both versions, she realized he was the son of Goku, the winner of the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, and used that information to pressure him into entering the 25th tournament and teaching her how to fly. Within days, she learned to fly and started to develop feelings for him. She cut her hair short after Gohan suggested it, though she initially thought he preferred girls with short hair. He clarified that long hair would only get in the way during fights. When Chi-Chi asked Gohan if he planned to marry Videl, it left him embarrassed. As Videl grew more skilled at flying, Gohan began to see her as someone truly special. Despite teasing from friends like Krillin, the two developed a genuine bond. Videl became exceptionally strong for a human and entered the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. When she met Goku and the other Z Fighters, Gohan explained that his father was dead, pointing to the halo above his head. This was one of many supernatural things that astonished Videl but were normal for the others. After the punching machine was replaced, she drew her first opponent, Spopovich. She initially dominated the match and even broke his neck, but he healed instantly, shocking her and the audience. No matter what she did, he kept getting back up. When she tried to fly away to recover, he followed and struck her down with a Kiai. Exhausted, she was brutally beaten around the ring and stepped on by Spopovich, who pushed her head down until she cried. Enraged, Gohan transformed into a Super Saiyan. Yamu reminded Spopovich of their mission, and he kicked Videl out of the ring to end the match. Gohan carried her to the infirmary and later healed her with a Senzu Bean from Goku. She thanked him, though Mr. Satan grew suspicious and insisted she be checked for poisoning. Back in the arena, Videl watched Gohan's match and confirmed he was the "Gold Fighter" she had suspected. When Yamu and Spopovich drained his energy, she tried to help but was held back by Goku. After Kibito healed Gohan and explained the situation, Videl asked to go with him. She believed him when he admitted he was the Gold Fighter, the Great Saiyaman, and the golden-haired boy from the Cell Games seven years ago. She realized her father's story was false and correctly concluded that Gohan had been the one to defeat Cell. She wanted to help against Babidi's forces, but Gohan asked her to inform the others. She agreed and said she would see him again. On her way back, she told Goten and Trunks about Majin Buu, which excited them and sent them toward the battlefield. She joined the group in searching for the Dragon Balls and later took refuge on Kami's Lookout, where she learned of Gohan's supposed death at Buu's hands. She broke down crying and confessed her love for him. While everyone believed he was gone, she sensed he was still alive, which turned out to be true. When Super Buu attacked the Lookout, Piccolo stalled him by mentioning Videl's connection to Mr. Satan. Eventually, Buu turned everyone on the Lookout into chocolate and ate them. After being revived and reunited with Gohan, Videl was relieved to see him again and admitted she had been worried sick. She felt embarrassed when her father asked people to donate energy for his fight against Buu. When Goku and the others returned, she greeted her father happily, and he introduced her to the dog Bee and Good Buu, who she was shocked to see until her father explained he was now an ally. Later, she became Gohan's crime-fighting partner as Great Saiyaman II, adopting a similar outfit and performing the same poses she once found ridiculous. Mr. Satan eventually allowed Gohan to date Videl, since Gohan was clearly stronger than him and he owed him for taking credit for Cell's defeat. Over time, Videl grew closer to Gohan's family, and they became like family themselves. A few years after the Buu incident, they married and had a daughter. Mr. Satan helped them build a house to live in together. God of Destruction Beerus Saga Some time after Majin Buu's defeat, Gohan and Videl got married, and Mr. Satan built them a house. Goten and Trunks went on an adventure to find a special spring water that was said to keep skin soft, intending to give it to Videl as a wedding gift. When they delivered it to her, she used it but soon realized it was just ordinary water. Not wanting to disappoint them, she accepted it graciously and thanked them for their effort. Videl later attended Bulma's party alongside Gohan, Chi-Chi, and Goten. She helped Mr. Satan serve food to Buu and spent private time with Gohan during the event. When Beerus and Whis arrived, she clapped and chanted along with the others. After Beerus defeated Buu and Gotenks, Gohan attacked him and was quickly beaten, and Videl rushed to his side. Beerus also defeated Vegeta after he powered up in response to Bulma being slapped. When Beerus prepared to destroy Earth, Goku arrived and summoned Shenron, who explained the ritual needed to create a Super Saiyan God. The first attempt failed, but Videl stepped forward and revealed she was pregnant. She joined the ritual, and this time the group succeeded in transforming Goku into a Super Saiyan God. Golden Frieza Saga After Goku and Vegeta's fight with Beerus, Videl was at home with Gohan. She was about to make dinner, but Gohan insisted on cooking instead so she would not overwork herself. More than six months after Vegeta left for Beerus's planet, Videl gave birth to their daughter, Pan. She later spoke with Chi-Chi and Bulma about how to raise Pan and decided that she wanted her daughter to grow up freely. She had no issue with Pan becoming a martial artist, since she had met Gohan that way. She and Gohan later went shopping and left Pan with Piccolo. When they returned, Videl held Pan and noticed the sky darken as Shenron was summoned. She later comforted Pan while she was crying, unaware that Frieza was destroying the planet. Both she and Pan were killed in the blast, but Whis reversed time with his Temporal Do-Over so Goku could defeat Frieza once more. Afterward, Gohan returned home and promised to protect Videl and Pan. Videl later attended a celebration at Bulma's house with her family and friends. Universal 6 Saga Videl watched the Tournament of Destroyers from the sidelines and had very little to say throughout the matches. "Future" Trunks Saga In the "Future" Trunks Saga, Videl plays a minor role. She and her father are surprised to meet Future Trunks and have dinner with him before he departs. She is also involved in a rivalry between Gohan and an actor named Barry Kahn, who plays the Great Saiyaman in a movie. Barry grows jealous of Videl's marriage to Gohan and tries to turn Gohan against her. At one point, he blackmails Gohan by taking photos that made it look like he was involved with another woman. Videl did not fall for the trick, knowing Gohan would never do such a thing. The two confronted Barry and threw him out, even after he threatened to expose Gohan's identity as the Great Saiyaman. Later, Barry was possessed by a space criminal named Watagash and became strong enough to knock out Gohan and kidnap Pan. Gohan eventually defeated him, and Videl was confident he would never fail in front of their daughter. Cocoa also stopped Barry from revealing Gohan's secret by threatening to expose him as the monster he had become. Universe Survival Saga When Goku asked Gohan to take part in the Zeno Expo alongside him and Majin Buu, Gohan was hesitant after learning that losing universes in the Tournament of Power would be erased. Videl showed up and encouraged him to go, saying it would be a good chance to spend time with his father. She was not told, however, that the losers and their universes would be destroyed. Super Hero Videl called Piccolo at his home and asked if he could pick up Pan from school, since she was busy teaching a martial arts class. Piccolo reluctantly agreed after learning why Gohan was unavailable. Videl thanked him and offered to bring him something good to eat, but Piccolo reminded her that he only needed water. She then offered to get him another stuffed plush for his collection. Later that day, Videl was shocked and angry to find their house half sunken after Gohan had lost his temper. Peaceful World Saga During the ten years following Majin Buu's defeat, Videl attends the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament to support her family at the conclusion of the Dragon Ball Z series.

• Standard Ki Weaknesses: Ki users that do not have sufficient training over their emotions put their power within a mental lock, thus affects to their emotions can seriously limit their powers, their emotions can also have them instinctively block using the full power of their attacks out of fear of the destruction along with lack of confidence in themselves. Ki users can only sense targets moving at super speed through feeling their chi, with them becoming so accustomed to tracking energy that they've lost their eyes for movement. Ki users can get hit by off guard attacks from characters far slower then them. If ki users are paralyzed or their nerves are numb, they can be killed by much weaker attacks. If a Ki user is inflicted with any kind of status, disease, or poison, powering up or transforming will put further strain on the body and can speed up the process of poison. Users of Ki Sensing cannot sense beings that invisible, even if the character is in front of them attacking them, they have a hard time countering them due to being invisible. Users of Ki Sensing also have a harder time sensing the true being using illusions, requiring them to focus in on energy fields to see who is moving and who is casting the illusion. Due to the nature of ki draining stamina and energy, Dragon Ball characters ki usage requires them to usually use their higher levels of energy in short bursts, using a large amount of ki overtime can greatly weaken them to the point that characters far lower then them can actually harm them with attacks. Taking large amounts of damage can greatly deplete a ki users attacks, making it where attacks that would otherwise kill massively weakened characters, only pushes them back. Ki users cannot put all of their ki and strength into an attack if parts of their body are broken/injured, they also lose half of their chi if something like one of their arms are badly injured or broken.Ki users that are able to ki sense cannot do it when their guard is dropped, such as when Vegeta was able to sneak attack Son Goku during the end of their fight in the Buu Saga. Despite some ki users being able to reach blasts that can destroy planets through charged attacks or techniques, they have not shown to be able to tank such blasts themselves, with attacks that have destroyed several planets in the series always killing the character. Even characters such as Majin Buu's body cannot withstand the energy of a planet exploding. Using ki volley attacks come with the caveat of their aim being rather poor, making it harder to hit moving targets. If ki users are at all possessed, even by accident, their true self will be sleeping within, with the possessor needing to awaken them. Even if awoken, they are immobilized and unable to move without the possessor giving them the ability to, even with them wanting to wake up, they cannot do it. Specific waves can can suppress a ki users power, and put their consciousness to sleep. If Ki users stamina is broken, they will unable to be able to continue fighting for a short while, this will also cancel out any ki attack they were attempting to use, including ultimate's, this also adds on that ki users guards are down while charging ultimate attacks. Their stamina can also be broken if a character moves far too fast and surprise attacks them while they're charging their ki. Ki Users can also be grabbed out of charging their attacks. When ki users radiate their Ki at its highest, their body is also freed the most, making them open to attacks and making them easy to possess. Ki attacks can be blocked by magma based attacks, such as even when Vegeta's strongest charged blast, the final flash, was being blocked by Magetta's magma. Ki users have far lower reactions and speeds when they do not have their ki up or are not on guard, such as when Mai's sniper would've hit Goku Black if she didn't miss.

• Her name is an anagram of "devil"; since her father's original Japanese name is Mr. Satan.
• Videl's car, seen in the introduction, has "666" written on the side of it, in further relation to the religious references.
• In the episode "Blackmail", both Gohan and Bulma referred to her as Videl Satan, however, in the Dragon Ball: Super Exciting Guide, Akira Toriyama states that "Mr. Satan" is actually a ringname for her father.

It is unknown if Moden is related to Videl (like Beat who is a descendant of Goku in World Mission) or just resembles her as several of Hero Town's inhabitants resemble Dragon Ball characters.
• In Dragon Ball FighterZ, if you select Videl on the Character Select screen while holding L1/LB/L or L2/LT/ZL, you will unlock an alternate costume with her pigtails (with Great Saiyaman getting his helmet), making Videl the only character in the game with an alternate costume.

Ultimate Gohan dies to an attack that destroys the earth, his guard was up too since this was when he was fighting Super Buu. In Dragon Ball GT, Great Ape Baby Vegeta shoots a super galick gun that he claims will destroy Earth, when Goku is hit by it, he is knocked out to the point that he can't move for a good while, Elder Kai and Shin later state that Baby is going to shoot another blast that will destroy the planet on, greatly injuring Baby if he's caught in the Blast and will kill everyone on the planet if done. Frieza destroyed the entire earth, killing Vegeta in the process. In the Dragon Ball Super Manga, Gohan tells Goku that he doesn't need to hold anything back and can go all out because anything that happens to the Earth can be restored with Dende and the Dragon Balls. Yet, none of Goku's all out attacks destroy the planet but just heavily causes shockwaves around it. Semi-Perfect Cell unleashes a several blast that destroys several islands Android 16 notes that the attacks are just strong enough to not kill Android 18.

In the fight of Trunks vs. Mecha Frieza, who is far stronger than his final form, Mecha Frieza immediately goes for his strongest attack, the Supernova. In the original Z anime King Kai even states this is ten times stronger than the power he used on Namek:
