Hmm... Yeah, sorry. I was moon gazing. I know. It's just such a nice night out.
~ Alucard's first lines

No nobility, conviction, or rationale. You can't transform into mist or bats. You can't even recover from the wounds you take. You kill women and children when you don't even need to feed. And lastly, you can't even fight once the bullets run out. You still think you can be nosferatu? What a disgrace!!
~ Alucard to a vampire in Volume 1 Order 3

What a pissant. I'm starting to wish I'd never bothered to suck your blood. You could've died as a human then, had you chosen to. But you chose the night. No matter how much you long for the light of day... All it would do is devour your body. Listen to me, police girl. Once you deny the morning sun and begin to walk the night, you can never, ever turn back to the day! But maybe this too could work. There may be a place for a timid "evening walker" like you.
~ Alucard to Seras Victoria

"Even if I hide?" I'm not running or hiding. I just got a bit tired of waiting for you.
~ Alucard to Luke Valentine

Sow?! That's what I'd expect from the infamous section XIII. Always trying to impose their peace and laws on everyone else. Those at the top squelching any who oppose their power. Nothing ever changes. Nothing's ever changed in Rome these past 2000 years.
~ Alucard to Maxwell

Stop!! Anderson!! You mean to become a monster?! God's monster?! You mean to become an immortal true toy of god's power? It's the same. Practically the same piece of shit! As a monster that affirmed god. As a monster that denied god. Do you intend to use that ruin... ...Of a miracle to become a ruin of miracle yourself? Do you intend to send our struggle away... ...To that other shore? A monster like me, a weak monster that could not go on being human... ...Must be defeated by a human!! Stop this, human!! Don't become a monster like me.
~ Alucard to Alexander Anderson
You're something else. Your training is superb, for a man. Rival! Come kill me!! Come pierce this heart with your bayonets!! Like five hundread years ago!! Like a hundred years ago!! Put an end to the interstice of this, my dream!! Beloved mortal foe!!
~ Dracula to Alexander Anderson
Yup, too bad. You screwed up. I had thought I was all out. But half-eaten dog bait's surprisingly good. What's wrong, black one? Stand up. You can't just say "Okay, I give up." after getting hit once. Boy. That's what you get for becoming a vampire through a no-good hack. Regeneration and healing take a huge toll on your body. Now, what'll happen to you? I bet you can't keep that form sustained. Not like that, your heyday!! So what'll it be? Back to being an old man? Or maybe... You'll be a kid again. Hi, Walter. Been sixty years, hasn't it? I'm not toying. You're the one who's toying. I'm just playing along with your show. Your child's play. Appearance and shape hold no meaning for me. I thought I told you sixty years ago. Not to mention why you turned traitor. You're a slow learner, boy. It's nothing, really. When you get down to the nitty gritty... This kind of thing's a kid fight. So look we're kids. Me! You!! It's the essence of conflict. "Unless you beat it down, you can't be yourself. For that you overturn anything and everything in a sacrifce sale. Yes, like me 500 years ago! Like you right now! Like Anderson!! Like that Major!! Didn't you want to fight with me? Otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to take a single step, would you? Would you even know which way to go? Do you fear becoming useless?! Do you fear old age?! Do you fear being left behind?! John Bull? Bullshit!! You're the one who's toying. You're a little punk. A scrawny little punk who hasn't changed a bit in the last sixty years. So. Bring it on, punk bitch!!
~ Alucard in his girl form to Walter

Background

Alucard is the main protagonist of the Hellsing series created by Kohta Hirano.

He is the most powerful weapon of the Hellsing Organisation which works against vampires and other such supernatural forces. Alucard is no mere Vampire; it has been implied that he is the most powerful vampire alive and may be the most powerful character in the series, rivaled only by The Captain and Alexander Anderson. He is also Seras Victoria's Master and a very loyal servant to the Hellsing Organisation's leader; Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Alucard’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

The Dawn
He was given a new name, Alucard, by Arthur Hellsing. In 1944, Alucard, along with a 14-year-old Walter C. Dornez, is sent on a mission to Warsaw, Poland, to stop Millennium's vampire production program. They presumably destroyed the project, but its main architects escaped. Decades later, in 1969, Alucard was imprisoned in a dungeon in Hellsing manor by Arthur. According to Sir Hugh Irons, Arthur Hellsing came to believe that Alucard was "too powerful a drug to be used as more than the occasional medicine".

Before the Events of Hellsing: Ultimate
Immediately after Arthur’s death, Richard Hellsing, jealous of Integra for inheriting the family headship, attempted to hunt her down and kill her. Integra escaped her traitorous uncle and managed to reach a dungeon in the mansion's sublevels, where her father had said she would find her salvation. Hoping to find a knight, she stumbled across an old, dried-out corpse instead. Richard found her, cornered her, and shot her in the shoulder, spilling her blood across the floor of the room. The corpse, who ended up being a vampire whom Arthur had imprisoned 20 years earlier, awoke and licked up Integra's blood. Rejuvenated, it proceeded to kill her persecutors, thus saving her.

Richard desperately attempted to kill Integra one last time, but the vampire blocked his bullet. Picking up a gun, Integra shot and killed her uncle, becoming the last descendant of the Hellsing bloodline. The vampire, whose name was Alucard, became her loyal servant.

Volume I
Alucard first appears as the Hellsing Organization is called in the investigate happenings in Cheddar.

Meeting Seras Victoria
Here he meets Seras Victoria, one of the police sent in beforehand to handle the situation, as well the target, the Cheddar Priest. After hearing Seras scream and seeing both of them, he smiles and approaches them and coolly says that he's the priest's death after he questions his identity.

The priest mockingly says "My death? Oh really....? My god. This is pathetic." Finally, he snaps his fingers after ordering his army of ghouls, armed with weapons to kill him. Alucard gets stormed with bullets, which caused a huge, grey smoke after the ghouls finished shooting. The priest, after seeing Alucard's corpse falling, laughs maniacally, until Alucard's eye glows bright red and multiple caterpillars surround his body. His whole body regenerates, including his clothing and hat while he smiles, and after regenerating fully, he pulls out a giant pistol with a very long barrel called "Casull" and points it at the priest's ghouls, and fires, which instantly killed them, then he turns around and sprays, wiping out all of the ghouls that surrounded him, which made the priest, get immediately terrified. He then reloads the Casull, while explaining what type of bullets the Casull has; "The Silver cross of Manchester Cathedral was melted down to make this 13-millimeter exploding shell", and claims that nothing he ever shoots, ever gets back up again.

The priest, thinking Alucard will not shoot him if he holds the girl hostage, puts Seras between himself and the other vampire's Casull but, after knowing that the Police Girl is a virgin, Alucard shoots him anyway, and the Casull's bullet penetrates through Seras' heart and hits the Cheddar Priest's. After the priest lets go of Seras, Alucard quickly ran straight toward him and impales him with his hand, killing him. He then gives Seras a chance to avoid death and turn into a Vampire, which she accepts. Alucard later on returns to Integra and introduces her to Seras. Integra, thinking that Seras was just a survivor of the incident, was shocked to hear that she's a vampire. Integra screams at Alucard and Alucard says that he didn't have a choice.

Bermingham Mission
Alucard sets about trying to teach her how to be a true vampire, helping her unlock her bloodlust and tap into her superhuman abilities. Alucard approaches Integra and Integra is feeling nostalgic so she recalls what happens Ten years ago, Seras and Alucard made fun of her and Integra became furious. Integra orders Alucard to eliminate Leif and Jessica on a mission in Bermingham. Alucard shoots the door and introduces himself to Leif, who he quickly eliminates. Jessica however, took the opportunity to run seeing Alucard busy. Not knowing Seras was there, Seras eliminates Jessica with a Sniper.

Badrick and meeting Iscariot's Trump Card for the first time
On a mission in Badrick, Alucard was seen eliminating ghouls upstairs and sits down, drinking medical blood before telling Seras what to do. He is interrupted by Alexander Anderson, who impales Seras with multiple bayonets when he was trying to teach her, and was surprised when he "purifies" the house. When he saw Alexander, he was smiling and after a brief talk, both of them approaches each other, ready for a standoff. Though Alexander was fast enough to impale Alucard with 2 bayonets. However, Alucard was able to shoot him in the head at point-blank range with the Casull. After complimenting Alexander a little, Alucard tries to help Seras. But, Alexander shocks Alucard when he stands up and impales him with 2 bayonets once again. Alucard leaps forward and shoots Alexander, which was powerful enough to send him reeling back. He regenerates again and ran straight toward Alucard, who dodges and keeps shooting at him. Alexander blocks all bullets from the Casull and throws multiple bayonets at Alucard, which shattered windows. Seeing Alucard distracted, Alexander takes the chance and grabs his hands, stabbing them with his bayonets. After Alucard is trapped, Alexander shows his healing ability to Alucard. This was when he realizes Alexander is a Human Regenerator. Alexander once again throws multiple bayonets at Alucard's torso before decapitating him. Alexander laughs at went for Seras, who Alucard tells to drink his blood. Integra stops Alexander but Anderson states that he will not back down against a "Protestant whore" and swiftly kills Integra's bodyguards.

But before he can kill Integra, Alucard regenerates and engages Alexander again. Alexander manages to cut off Alucard's arms, but Alucard heals so fast that it made Alexander withdraw, who states that he's not ready. After the battle is over, Alucard, Integra, and Seras head back to the Hellsing Organization Manor.

Volume 2
Alucard was sleeping in his chair and has a dream about the time Abraham Van Helsing defeats him. Alucard woke up and cried tears of blood. After that, Alucard goes into Seras's room, which has Walter in it, and calls her an idiot.

The Jackal
Walter then introduces Alucard to his brand new weapon, the Jackal. Alucard holds it for the first time and says that it's perfect. Seras is impressed and stares at the Jackal until Walter introduces Seras too about her new weapon, the Harkonnen. Later, when the Hellsing Organization is assailed by Luke Valentine and Jan Valentine and Alucard hears the noises upstairs. Walter gets a call from Integra and Alucard was excited when he hears that Walter will rescue Integra with Seras, and is finally gonna witness Walter's true identity after decades. Alucard then leaves and patiently waits for Luke Valentine. After Luke swiftly eliminates the Hellsing Personnel that ambushes him, he searches for Alucard and finally founds him. After Luke says if he's hiding or not he will find him, Alucard says that he's not hiding.

Luke Valentine
After Luke introduces himself, Luke pulls out his M1 Garand and before Alucard's wine drops and shatters, both have their weapons on each other's heads at point-blank range. The wineglass shatters and both shoot each other. Alucard's Casull was powerful enough to send him reeling back and Luke's M1 Garand made Alucard get excited. Alucard tries to shoot Luke again but Luke was fast enough to shoot Alucard multiple times before running out of bullets and dodging his Casull. Luke, who's dodging Alucard's Casull states that he will defeat him and become number one and ran straight towards Alucard yet again and says checkmate. After realizing he fell for his trap, Luke leaps and dodges his Casull again, and after Alucard shoots the Jackal for the first time, Luke was shocked and terrified when it destroys a huge chunk of a wall, seeing Alucard stand up, bleeding, and asking for his name again. Alucard compliments him and releases Control Art Restriction to Level One, which shows Luke's true nature, a coward. Luke dodges multiple Baskervilles and screams, then runs away.

Alucard's arm with the Jackal came out of one of the Baskervilles' mouths and shoots his leg. Luke falls and was absolutely terrified of Alucard. He then came out of Baskerville, telling him to stand up, and attack him while holding one of his legs. After Luke calls him a monster, Alucard was disappointed and stares at Luke, furiously. He insults Luke and calls him "Dog food" before Baskerville comes out of Alucard's right arm and devours Luke. Before Alucard walks away, he calls Luke "dog shit".

Volume 3
Meeting the Wild Geese
Alucard was first seen when he meets the Wild Geese once they are hired, walking through a wall, terrifying them in the process and calling them "a pathetic bunch of live-livered cowards".

Second encounter with Alexander Anderson
In the museum, Enrico called Integra a "miserable English sow", only to have his first meeting with Alucard. Alucard threatened to kill Maxwell for insulting her, but Enrico was calm and responds back by calling Anderson. To both's dismay, Alucard and Alexander immediately attempted to duel. Before anything happens, they were stopped when Seras posed as a guide for the museum (possibly because of some agreement with Walter that Alucard would not destroy the museum, since the two smiled at each other after everyone had gone). The two decided that this isn't the right time to fight, and they both leave with Alucard saying that he's tired.

Trip to Rio, Brazil
Later on, Alucard saw Walter and is surprised that he's up late, then asks if Integra's sleeping. Both talked about how they can't believe that it was the Nazis that did it and both talked about the time that they "killed them all" 50 years ago. Alucard then comments about Walter aging and says that it's a terrible thing, though Walter says that the English can enjoy "aging". After that, Walter says that they're going to send Alucard to South America as soon as possible. Walter then asks about Seras and why he turned her into a vampire, to which Alucard replies with "On a whim? No. She chose to of her own free will." After which, Walter informs him that she's an orphan. Walter has doubts about her drinking blood but Alucard is adamant about it. However, before they can talk about anything else, Seras barges in.

The next morning, Integra wakes up and sees Alucard in a new outfit, ready to travel. He also decided that Seras will be put in a coffin. Integra comments about his outfit and Alucard says that he can't board a plane looking like that, then expresses his hatred for the sun, though it is not fatal to him. Integra then says that he has only one order, to "Search and Destroy".

He then heads to Rio with Seras and Pip Bernadotte. Alucard is taking on a new identity called "Mr. J. H. Blenner". Pip, after seeing Alucard use his hypnosis power, is confused and asks him what he did. Alucard says he did nothing and says that there's no problem. Alucard, Pip, and Seras in a coffin go to their room and Pip is jealous about how big the room is. Alucard says that Seras is quiet and it's not like her. Alucard sits on his coffin and says that it is his domain and he was born and died there.

Alucard wakes Seras up and upon exiting his room, Alucard is attacked by the remaining BOPE members, and he proceeds to sadistically and brutally massacre them. After killing the last BOPE members by impaling them on flagpoles, the Dandyman stood in the courtyard outside the hotel. After politely introducing himself and declaring his intent to kill Alucard, Tubalcain attacked the Hellsing-aligned vampire with his razor-sharp cards.

The Dandy Man
Initially, Tubalcain kept Alucard on the defensive with trickery and an endless flurry of cards. However, Alucard managed to evade Alhambra's killing strike and take the battle to the roof of the hotel, where the Millennium officer was attacked by Seras' Harkonnen. Although Tubalcain easily deflected the former police girl's gunfire, even cutting one of the Harkonnen's shells in two before it could hit him, the distraction allowed Alucard to release his Control Art Restriction System to Level One and close the distance between himself and Alhambra. After tricking Tubalcain into attacking his shadow familiars, Alucard finally managed to grab the enemy vampire, delivering a powerful kick that severed Alhambra's left leg below the knee.

In a last attempt to protect himself, Tubalcain attempted to slash Alucard with a card held between his fingers. In response, Alucard used his own hand to meet the attack, tearing both vampires' arms apart. As Alhambra reeled in pain, Alucard regenerated from his wound and seized the Dandyman's head, explaining that he had been ordered to "thoroughly" interrogate him to learn more about Millennium. Unfortunately for Tubalcain, Alucard's "interrogation" involved drinking his blood and absorbing his soul, thus gaining access to Alhambra's memories. As Alhambra's remains burn, Pip arrives with a helicopter and escapes with Alucard and Seras.

Volume 4
Alucard and company then set up shop in a small Brazilian town after the fiasco in Rio, from where Alucard calls Integra to report in. He tells her that he is now aware of what Millennium is planning to do, and Integra orders him back to London after a small verbal jab from Alucard. When Seras and Pip return (apparently from buying groceries), they begin to brainstorm how to return to London when Anderson kicks in the door. He and Alucard exchange a few hard punches before drawing weapons. Anderson, however, simply stakes a set of release papers to a wall, explaining that the Vatican will be providing their transport home.

Meeting an old friend and the declaration of War
In London, Alucard and company join a meeting involving the Iscariot and Round Table management, presided over by Queen Elizabeth II herself. After exchanging a tender greeting with the Queen, Alucard reports on Millennium's plan to use their newly bred vampire army to avenge their defeat during WWII. Immediately after this report, Schrödinger appears and sets up a video conference between Integra and The Major. After The Major states his intentions, Alucard tells him it will be a pleasure to destroy Millennium again and blows Schrödinger's head off as per Integra's orders. Sometime later, the Royal Navy receive reports of a Millennium hijacking of an aircraft carrier, the HMS Eagle. Integra, Walter, and Alucard journey to London to devise a way to recapture the ship. After listing and shooting down several possibilities, Walter comes up with the idea to use a modified SR-71 to get Alucard to the Eagle.

Rip Van Winkle
Alucard then uses the plane to fly over the Eagle, well out of weapons range, and then to nosedive straight towards the ship before it can get its engines started. The Nazi soldiers and Millennium first lieutenant Rip Van Winkle attempt to shoot him down, but Alucard simply covers the SR-71 with his own body, keeping it in one piece long enough to crash into the flight deck of the Eagle. As he moves to confront a terrified Rip, the Nazi soldiers attempt to kill him while Rip retreats. Alucard brushes off their attack and butchers the lot of them. He then moves to confront Rip again, who gathers her courage and attempts to blast him into the ocean with her magic bullets. Right on the verge of falling off the ship, Alucard casually catches the bullet in his mouth and shatters it. He then punches Rip, stakes her to a wall with her own gun, and devours her. After consuming Rip, he lets out a maniacal laugh as the Major prepares his troops to attack London.

Volume 5
Despite the strategy of stranding in the ocean (as vampires cannot cross large bodies of water on their own), he manages to use his shadow powers to take control of and sail the stalled ship. Alucard begins his journey back to London on board the Eagle as Millennium burns London, opposed only by an advance force of Iscariot led by Alexander Anderson.

Volume 7
He later communicates telepathically with Seras during the attack on the Hellsing Manor by Millennium forces led by Zorin Blitz, prompting her to learn how to see through Zorin's illusions.

Volume 8
As the Vatican continues to fight the Last Battalion and murder the civilians of London, Alucard, at last, reaches London. Covering his arrival in a city-wide cloud of fog, he leaps from the Eagle (situated on the Thames river), and floats down between the Vatican forces and the Last Battalion, about to engage each other.

The Battle of London
When he lands, both Alexander Anderson and The Captain of Millennium move to confront him, each ignoring the other in favor of killing Alucard. Alucard shouts to Integra to give him an order, and she responds by ordering him to kill every one of Hellsing's enemies. To this end, she orders him to release Level Zero, Alucard's final and most devastating form. Every one of his enemies is overcome by dread as he initiates his release, sensing the horror that is to come, and they all attack him. Anderson and The Captain, seeing their attacks have no effect on Alucard, retreat while the Vatican and Millennium soldiers continue desperately to attack him.

True Identity
Ultimately, they are unable to harm him, and the shadow matter Alucard's body was reduced to during the joint attack on him envelopes his foes like a tidal wave. As the shadow matter spreads throughout the city, human bodies begin to rise out of it, revealing that Level Zero is, in fact, the release of all the souls Alucard has devoured in corporeal form. As the Last Battalion and the Vatican prepare for the onslaught, Alucard takes the form of Vlad III "the Impaler" Dracula, appearing as he did when he first became a vampire. His forces wash over the Last Battalion and the Vatican while Tubalcain Alhambra and Rip Van Winkle, now familiars, destroy the Vatican's air forces. As the one-sided carnage draws to a close, Alucard greets Integra and Seras, acknowledging his pride in Seras for finally becoming a true vampire.

The Final Battle between Alucard and Anderson
The Reunion was short-lived as Alexander ran straight towards Alucard with his Bayonets in the air. Alucard compliments Alexander and Alexander makes a speech before charging against Alucard again. Telling his archenemy to come and kill him if he can, the two engage in a duel, with Alucard in his Vlad Tepes form wielding a broadsword.

When Anderson backs off to throw his bayonets at Alucard, Alucard shifts back to his Count-form and draws his guns, introducing Anderson to the Jackal. Anderson charges Alucard again, with Alucard shooting with the Casull, Alexander blocks the Casull's bullets but when Alucard shoots him with the Jackal, Alexander's majority of his left upper arm was blown off.

Alexander, however, does not give up and still ran straight toward Alucard and slashes him. But, Alucard has summoned his familiars and then leaps behind a swarm of his familiars, out of reach of Anderson, who is then peppered with Alhambra's cards and shot by Rip Van Winkle's bullet. Badly hurt, with the wound in his left arm not regenerating, Anderson pauses to catch his breath while Alucard mocks him with the seemingly impossible odds of actually killing him. Anderson, disregarding these odds, prepares to charge into the horde of familiars, with Alucard looking on approvingly. As Anderson cuts his way to Alucard, Alucard revels in the thought that Anderson might be the human opponent he has been searching for; the one who might actually kill him. Anderson is finally stopped by Alucard's familiars but just as they are about to kill him, he is saved by a group of the remaining Iscariot-priests led by Heinkel Wolfe and Yumie Takagi.

These priests engage in suicide bomber tactics to provide a path to Alucard for Anderson, which he utilizes successfully. Anderson then reveals his trump card, Helena's Nail, and prepares to stab himself with it. Horrified, Alucard shouts to him not to do it, telling him that he had enough strength as a man to win and begs him not to make the same mistake that he had made, himself. Anderson declines, saying that he does not wish to be a man, but a terrible storm of heartless, tearless piety, and stabs the nail through his own heart. Alucard, beside himself with fury, walks up to Anderson and points the Casull at him, screaming at him for his foolishness, but Anderson cuts off the arm with the Casull and Alucard's head in one motion.

His headless body then blows off Anderson's head in return. As the two of them fall back, their bodies catch themselves and start to regrow their lost pieces. Alucard's pieces reappear as their usual shadow matter, but Anderson's head regrows as a half-human mass of thorny vines. Alucard then unloads upon Anderson, blowing off numerous chunks of the priest's body, but to no avail. He then shoots a Jackal round at the nail itself, only for the bullet to be stopped in mid-flight by Anderson's vines. Anderson, smiling, then leaps into the air and casts a bayonet at Alucard's head, impaling him and doing the first real damage to ever be dealt to him. Vines erupt from the blade in Alucard's head and set him aflame, burning his horde of familiars (which is just an extension of his form) as well.

Volume 9 and Volume 10
Alucard then has flashbacks concerning his past (possibly his life flashing before him) and relives being sodomized by a Turkish high ruler and losing his war against them. These visions culminate in his decision to become a vampire as he is about to be executed. Fortunately for him, however, Seras intervenes and grabs Anderson's blade, preventing the monster of God from cutting Alucard further. She is quickly consumed by the burning vines as well, but holds out, screaming for Alucard to awaken. As she is about to be overcome, Alucard regains his senses and takes hold of the blade as well.

He sadly tells Anderson that, as a monster, he cannot win, and proceeds to somehow consume Anderson's vines and shatter his blade. As the vines dissolve, Alucard transforms into his jumpsuit form and charges Anderson, as Integra and Seras watch. He proceeds to charge against Anderson and Alexander tries to stop him by throwing multiple vines at him, but Alucard swiftly slices them with his hand with ease and leaps at Alexander then destroys multiple vines that were thrown to him by Alexander again, before plunging his hand onto Alexander's heart and pulls it out before crushing it, ending Alexander.

Instead of gloating or laughing as with his other defeated foes, Alucard is overcome by grief and screams at Anderson for making the same mistake that he did. Anderson quietly laughs, however, and says to Alucard "Monsters don't cry. And that's why you became one, isn't it? So you wouldn't have to." This gets Alucard's attention and he gets ahold of himself as Anderson continues with, "When a man's tears dry up forever, they become a monster...so laugh...just as always." Anderson exchanges a few final words with Alucard and then crumbles to dust with a final, "Amen", echoed by Alucard.

Walter, the traitor
The scene of mourning is then interrupted by a rejuvenated Walter descending from the sky onto Anderson's crumbling remains. Walter explains to his former family how he has betrayed Hellsing of his own free will, and Alucard tells him sorrowfully that his old body was far more beautiful than his new, immortal one. As he sadly kneels in Anderson's ashes, Walter shouts at him to stand up and fight. Alucard then asks Integra to reaffirm her kill order which she does, to the delight of not only Alucard but The Major and Walter as well.

As Integra and Seras leave to storm the Deus Ex Machina, Alucard and Walter begin their battle. Walter initially seems to have the upper hand since most of Alucard's fighting methods are useless against him. When he is about to use the Jackal against Walter, the pistol is revealed to be made by Millennium as The Doctor uses his remote to destroy it. Alucard then creates a hellhound out of his body, nicknamed "Baskerville" by Walter, who cuts it in half. A disgusted and confused Luke Valentine crawls out of its body, much to the amusement of Alucard. The hound's corpse and Luke are both then hijacked by Walter's wires, and he begins to control them like puppets. As he uses them, however, Walter's wires go slack and he coughs up blood due to his hasty transformation. Alucard then shoots the controlled Luke and dispatches the hound after being bitten in half by it. Walter then re-engages a regenerated Alucard himself, cutting his arms and legs off, slicing his torso in half, and suspending him in the middle of the room with wires. After collapsing and regressing in age, Walter then picks up a piece of re-bar and impales what he believes to be Alucard through the heart with it.

In actuality, it was only the body of Luke Valentine disguised as Alucard who, now in the form of a young girl, snappishly punches Walter. This blow causes Walter to revert back to his 14-year-old body, with Alucard theorizing as to the cause of his regression. Alucard then taunts Walter, telling him that he was afraid of becoming old and useless and that his victory over Alucard would just provide a self-esteem boost. Alucard then begins to absorb the blood from the deceased inhabitants of London and the two defeated militaries.

Alucard continues to absorb the city's dead as Walter vertically bisects him with his wires, which is as futile as his other attacks. Alucard then grabs Walter, who appears to have given up at this point, contemptuously mocks him and Anderson for their respective failures, and prepares to kill Walter. Unknown to Alucard, Schrödinger commits suicide as Alucard drinks the city's dead, combining his remains into the river of human blood flowing to Alucard. Alucard inadvertently absorbs his soul as he drinks, and when he does, The Major claims that Alucard has lost.

Alucard's defeat
The vampire arrogantly mocks him for saying so, but as he does, he sees the sunrise. As he gazes at it, he recalls that whenever he thought he was about to die, he saw the sunrise in just the same manner. This time, however, for some reason, it seems more beautiful to him than ever before, and he starts to disappear as the Major explains to Integra what is happening. He explains that as long as Schrödinger can recognize himself, he exists everywhere and nowhere; but because he is absorbed by Alucard, he became a part of Alucard and was thus no longer a separate entity that could recognize itself.

Thus, Alucard, now containing Schrödinger, can no longer stay in phase with the rest of reality and is becoming "a set of imaginary numbers", existing on some level, but not in reality. Integra shouts an order at Alucard not to disappear, but as his numerous eyes continue to close, he tells Integra that there is nothing he can do, and bids her farewell as he closes his final two eyes. All that is left is a bloodstained Hellsing pentagram on one of the cobblestones in the street.

Aftermath and Legacy
After Alucard's death, Integra was saddened and argues with The Major if he or Alucard is a monster. After the battle of London is over, Integra was revealed to be sorrowful, not only for Alucard but for Walter, too. Seras assures Integra that Alucard will come back.

Alucard reappears in Integra's bedroom after a 30-year absence. He approaches a sleeping Integra and leans down, apparently with the intention of biting her. Before he can do so, however, Integra wakes up and unloads a handgun into him, knocking him to the floor. The commotion alerts Seras, who kicks open the bedroom door and turns on the lights. The two women find themselves staring at Alucard, who is sitting up against the wall regenerating. Integra, now an old woman, asks him to explain what he was doing this whole time, and he tells her that he was killing his own lives except for one so that he could exist with Schrödinger's powers. She asks him if he is hungry, to which he responds that, after 30 years of not eating anything, of course he is. When Integra regretfully comments on how old she is now, Alucard simply tells her that it is fine with him. She then smiles, bites her finger, and gives him a drop of blood, as Alucard, having finally earned his right to immortality, licks. Alucard's eyes seem to have changed slightly due to possessing only a single soul.

Saved the life of Seras Victoria, by turning her into a vampire after shooting her in order to kill the Vicar[22]. Views practices from vampires such as killing women and children when they don't need to feed, along with lacking many basic skills of a vampire as lacking nobility, conviction or rationale[23]. Has fought and killed human soldiers when they tried to ambush and kill him[24], with him feeling no remorse from doing so and noting to Seras that the humans started the war against them so they naturally will strike back[25] though before killing the rest of the soldiers stationed outside, he waits for Integra to give him orders to do it[26], and then proceeded to massacre all of them[27])

Codex Statistics

Key: Pre-Schrödinger | Post-Schrödinger

Tier: Low 8-C, Higher with Restriction Level 1. 8-B with SR-71 Recconnaisance Jet Crash | Low 8-C

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D | 3-D Avatar, Unknown True State (Absorbed the blood of Schrödinger's Cat, becoming the concept itself, where he is both everywhere and nowhere as long as he's cognizant of himself[28][29][30][31], Alucard is neither alive or dead, and nothing more then a cluster of imaginary numbers[32][33][34][35])

Attack Potency: Small Building level (Punched through a vampire hard enough to cause his entire body to explode into blood[36]. Punched through the Vicar hard enough to cause his entire body to turn into paste[37]. Casually cut multiple men apart with a swing of his hand while just recovering from being a corpse[38]. It is noted by Integra that Alucard has spent 100 years being gloriously built into the ultimate undead[39]. Vampires are noted to be exceeedling powerful, being able to tear through humans like they were mere rags[40]), Higher with Restriction Level 1 (Easily overpowered and killed Luke Valentine[41][42] who he in his prior form was fighting equally too[43]. Overpowered and defeated Tubalcain Alhambra, who is able to destroy entire buildings and was fighting relative to his base self). City Block level with SR-71 Recconnaisance Jet Crash (Can use the SR-71 Recconnaisance Jet to crash straight into the enemy, resulting in these levels of energy) | Small Building level (Regained his form and shouldn't be any weaker then before)

Durability: Small Building level (Tanked the destruction of the SR-71 reconnaissance jet, which gives these levels[44][45]), Higher with Restriction Level 1. Regeneration & Immortality make him difficult to kill | Small Building level, Regeneration & Immortality make him extremely difficult to kill

Striking Strength: Small Building Class, Higher with Restriction Level 1 | Small Building Class

Lifting Strength: At least Superhuman (Vampires are noted to be exceedingly powerful, being able to tear through humans like they were mere rags[46]. Has casually lift and threw humans, superior to Seras Victoria who can casually lift several extremely large firearms and weapons on her back with no issues[47], and he orders to move his and her caskets around[48], which as oversized caskets, weigh around 500 lbs each), Class 100 with Restriction Level 1 (In this state he lifted a falling SR-71 reconnaissance jet[49], which has a combined gross takeoff weight of 140,000 pounds and fuel weight of 80,000 pounds or 99,790.3214 kg in total), Class M with Telekinesis (Telekinetically controlled a HMS Eagle to come back towards London[50], which weighs 22,000 tons under standard load) | Class 100

Travel Speed: Superhuman (Upon waking up he moved fast enough to cut off a man's head before he could react, and then proceeded to kill four men at once before they could react[51]), Higher with Restriction Level 1 | Superhuman

Combat Speed: High Hypersonic (Was able to fight comparably to Luke Valentine[52], who was able to dodge shots from Alucard's guns[53]. Was able to tag the Vicar[54], who was able to casually dodge gunfire[55]. Upon waking up he moved fast enough to cut off a man's head before he could react, and then proceeded to kill four men at once before they could react[56]), Higher with Restriction Level 1 | High Hypersonic

Reaction Speed: High Hypersonic (Caught a bullet from Rip Van Winkle's gun with his mouth[57], which can circle around and tag a[58] SR-71 reconnaissance jet[59], that was nosediving at full speed[60], which is noted to move faster then mach 3[61], giving the bullet these speeds[62]. It is noted by Integra that Alucard has spent 100 years being gloriously built into the ultimate undead, which would make him superior to any regular vampires[63], who can avoid point blank gunshots from[64] Rip Van Winkle's gun. Blocked multiple gunshots and caught the bullets from close range[65]. Blocked against multiple gunshots from a submachine gun[66]. Casually blocked a gunshot from hitting his mistress while just recovering from being a corpse[67]), Higher with Restriction Level 1 | High Hypersonic

Stamina: Superhuman+ (Has went through various different battles without tiring, easily taking down entire army of soldiers with no real issues[68], killed over three million, four hundred twenty-four thousand, eight hundred and sixty-seven souls in the span of thirty years without tiring[69])

Range: Standard Melee Range, Several Meters with Air Manipulation (Vampires are able to attack enemies from a distance away with mere flicks[70]), Hundreds of Meters with abilities (His abilities should still be superior to a fully vampire Seras Victoria, who could use her shadows to cover an entire building[71]), Kilometers with Casull and Jackal (Able to shoot a target from one kilometer away[72]), Multiversal with Schrödinger's Cat (Absorbed the blood of Schrödinger's Cat, becoming the concept itself, where he is both everywhere and nowhere as long as he's cognizant of himself[73][74][75][76], The state can be controlled to where the user doesn't need to be omnipresent but merely choose where they want to be[77], where the user can enter a persons thoughts[78], with this further being confirmed by Alucard[79]. As Schrodginer's Cat and Wave Functions are mentioned, this has the Hellsing verse run under quantum mechanics, which contains the many worlds theory, with this Alucard should be able to appear in any universe he wishes under the Schrödinger's cat state)

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius (Noted that Alucard is a special anti-vampire expert, with Integra noting no one is more of an expert then him when it comes to monsters and vampires[80]. Casually shot down multiple men without much trouble[81]. Notes to Seras Victoria to stop using normal human aiming as she'll always miss like they do and then proceeds to shoot a target from one kilometer away dead on[82]. Alucard was disgusted and disgraced by a vampire not being able to transform into mist or bats, recovering from the wounds they take and not being able to fight once bullets run out, viewing these as basic abilities[83]. Noted that Hellsing is handling the vampire attacks from skillfully then one thought they would and have kept casuaties to a minimum[84]. Easily took down an entire army of soldiers that had him surrounded with just two guns[85])

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics (Vampires are noted to be exceeedling powerful, being able to tear through humans like they were mere rags[86]), Enhanced Senses (Vampires through using their third eye are able to see targets even from 600 meters away at nighttime[87]), Extrasensory Perception (It is noted that vampires have excellent reflexes and conceptration, a sixth sense[88]), Pierce Resistance (Standard Pierce Resistance; Noted that guns won't do a thing and that guns could never kill a vampire[89], vampires such as Alucard can casually block bullets[90]), Surface Scaling (Vampires can walk on walls and run up them[91]), Immortality (Ageless; Vampires are noted to be ageless and immortal[92]), Regeneration (Low-Mid; Vampires can normally regenerate from things such as Alucard being shot up by multiple guns at once and losing parts of his body and arms[93]), Resurrection (Through blood coming on their body or drinking it, vampires are able to reanimate their corpses[94]), Supernatural Resilience (Vampires can survive any wounds, even from their weaknesses as long as it doesn't target their heart[95][96]), Precognition (Analytical Prediction; Vampires are able to feel a humans killing intent and read their movements[97]), Transformation (Shapeshifting; Alucard views as basic vampire abilities the ability to transform into mist or bats[98]), Telepathy (Vampires are able to speak telepathically with their servants][99]), Intangibility (Phasing; Vampires are able to phase through walls[100], along with phasing from the floor[101]), Corruption (Vampires can only breed more vampires by drinking the blood of a virgin of the opposite sex, others are simply food and end up becoming ghouls, the servants of vampires[102]), & Mind Manipulation (Mind Control; Vampires that attack victims who are not virigins turn them into zombies that are under their control[103]), Air Manipulation (Vampires are able to attack enemies from a distance away with mere flicks[104]), Blood Manipulation (Vampires are able to suck the blood from humans which acts as both their sustenance[105], and as a way to heal or resurrect themself[106]), Absorption, Metaphysics Manipulation (Soul Manipulation & Essence Manipulation), Conceptual Manipulation & Power Absorption (It is noted when Alucard reaches level 0 by Integra that vampires sucking the blood out of one is to make the whole existence of a life one's own, which makes previously devoured opponents apart of them and they gain their abilities[107][108][109][110], with people like The Major further noting that the life of souls is similiated through sucking one's blood[111], along with this vampires can even absorb the blood of abstract concepts such as the schrodinger's cat[112][113][114][115]. Alucard upon biting Rip Van Winkle absorbed her and her blood into his body[116]), Paradox Existence Negation (Concept and Non-Concept), Personal Nonexistence Negation (Metaphysical Nonexistence), Immortality Negation (Life and Death Immunity) & Regeneration Negation (High-Godly; As vampires can absorb the blood of abstract concepts such as Schrodinger's cat, they can also completely kill the Schrodinger's Cat user for good, gaining the ability themself[117][118][119][120]. Where in the state of Schrödinger's Cat, one is neither alive or dead, and nothing more then a cluster of imaginary numbers[121][122][123][124], where users such as Alucard returned back to his physical form[125] after being erased on such a scale that he became a collection of imaginary numbers, existing everywhere and nowhere, meaning he was nonexistent through every point in time[126][127][128][129]), Fusionism (Through sucking one's blood, vampires have a combination with the existence of others and the fusion of their lives and minds[130]), Animal Manipulation (Noted that vampires can manipulate wolves and bats[131]), Illusion Manipulation (Standard Illusions; Vampires can cause illusions such as growing into massive giants that can cut through entire buildings[132]).

Resistance to Illusion Manipulation (Standard Illusions; Vampires through the use of their third eye can see through illusions, along with this, even vampires untrained in their third eye will be able to tell that something is an illusion[133])

Vehicular Mastery (Air Vehicles; Alucard is able to pilot and fly a SR-71 reconnaissance jet[134][135], which are jets that are tricky and delicate to fly properly), Weapon Mastery (Marksmanship; Shown to be a master wielder of his guns, being able to dual wield them to shoot down multiple foes at once[136]. Able to shoot a target from one kilometer away dead on[137]), Intimidation (Alucard has sent fear and intimidation into people, causing a soldier to kill themself after they saw what Alucard did to all of their comrades[138]. Sent immense fear and terror into Rip Van Winkle, making her unable to move[139], along with his mere near presence making her fall to her knees and go into a panic state[140]. His presence and the start of his restriction level 0 sent fear into over 3000 soldiers[141]), Pain Tolerance (Alucard can take massive amounts of pain without any real reaction from him, being able to take gunshots to the head[142], even against attacks that negate his regeneration and healing[143]), Immortality (Reliance [On Object]; It's revealed in his level 0 state by Alexander Anderson, that the reason Alucard never dies is because everytime he suffers a blow that would kill a vampire, a soul will be sacrificed for him[144][145][146][147], with Alucard holding over three million, four hundred twenty-four thousand, eight hundred and sixty-seven souls, this makes him virtually unkillable[148]. Extra Replacements; As Schrodinger exists everywhere and nowhere, it would exist even before Alucard has obtained Schrodinger in a paradoxical sense), Enhanced Senses (Alucard could smell the scent of men being stabbed, women being cut down, babies being burned and elderly being shot to death miles away from London[149]), Aura (Alucard is noted to have a powerful chi one can sense[150]), Regeneration (High-Mid by himself; Alucard is able to regenerate from his head being cut off[151], Low-Godly with his souls; Alucard can regenerate his body from nothing left through using one of his millions of souls to give him a new body[152], even if his body is incapable of being healed back, he will be able to regenerate a new one such as when he took the form of a girl[153]), Power Suppression (Statistics Suppression & Ability Suppression; Alucard has put restriction levels on himself to withhold his immense power[154][155]), Telekinesis (Telekinetically controlled a HMS Eagle to come back towards London[156]), Mind Manipulation (Mind Control; Alucard is able to hypnotize someone through touch[157]. Mind controlled one of the subordinates to open the elevator when the rest of the soldiers were trying to close it to get away[158]), Fire Manipulation (After biting into Tubalcain Alhambra, he caused him to set on fire and burn to death[159]), Memory Manipulation (Alucard manipulated the memory of a pilot he hijacked a helicopter from where he had no memories of what he was doing there[160]. Through biting into Tubalcain Alhambra[161], everything he and the nazis were up to were engraved into Alucard's brain[162]), Weather Manipulation (Caused a massive fog around him and his ship so no one could detect him while he was entering the harbor[163]), Illusion Manipulation & Resistance Negation (Put an illusion on Walter as a vampire that he could not see through[164]. Alucard put illusions around Luke Valentine[165]).

Resistance to Regeneration Negation & Vampiric Weaknesses (High-Mid; It was noted by both Integra and Anderson that none of Anderson's current blessed equipment would be enough to kill Alucard[166], which is equipment used to negate the regeneration and healing of vampires[167]), Extreme Heats (Was unaffected by being surrounded by fire[168]), Purification, Fire Manipulation & Metaphysics Manipulation (Soul Manipulation; It's revealed in his level 0 state by Alexander Anderson, that the reason Alucard never dies is because everytime he suffers a blow that would kill a vampire, a soul will be sacrificed for him[169][170][171][172], with Alucard holding three million, four hundred twenty-four thousand, eight hundred and sixty-seven souls, this makes him virtually unkillable[173]. Was stabbed by Anderson's blade which purified all of the souls in his body yet remained fine and ended up defeating Anderson[174][175][176][177])

Summoning (In his restriction level 1 state, he can summon multiple dog-like shadow creatures to attack his opponents[178][179]), Statistics Boost (In this state, Alucard's strength is massively increased, along with the fire power from his guns being able to completetly blow a persons leg off[180][181]), Transformation (Body Morphing; In his Restriction Level 1 State, he is able to create dozens of hands that all cut through soldiers casually[182]), Sealing (The dogs that eat his enemies in his restriction level seals their souls within[183][184][185]).

Resistance to Regeneration Negation (High-Mid; In this state Alucard is able to regenerate from Tubalcain Alhambra's cards[186], which were able to negate his regeneration beforehand[187])
Necromancy (In Restriction Level 0, Alucard releases the over millions of souls he has in his body and sends them into battle[188][189][190][191]), Blood Manipulation (Gained all the blood from all of London to feast on[192][193]), Regeneration Negation (High-Mid; Has Tubalcain Alhambra in him[194][195][196][197], whose cards were able[198] to negate his regeneration beforehand[199]), Homing Attack (Has Rip Van Winkle in him[200][201][202][203], whose bullets endlessly home in on a target until they're dead[204])

All previous powers and abilities to a far greater extent, though he no longer has any of the souls he absorbed beforehand, Nondualism (In the state of Schrödinger's Cat, Alucard is neither alive or dead, and nothing more then a cluster of imaginary numbers[208][209][210][211]), Reality Separation & Omnipresence (True Omnipresence; Absorbed the blood of Schrödinger's Cat, becoming the concept itself, where he is both everywhere and nowhere as long as he's cognizant of himself[212][213][214][215], the state can be controlled to where the user doesn't need to be omnipresent but merely choose where they want to be[216]), Teleportation & Dimensional Travel (The state can be controlled to where the user doesn't need to be omnipresent but merely choose where they want to be[217], where the user can enter a persons thoughts[218], with this further being confirmed by Alucard[219]), Immortality (Life and Death Immunity; In the state of Schrödinger's Cat, Alucard is neither alive or dead, and nothing more then a cluster of imaginary numbers[220][221][222][223], even if one kills Schrödinger, they will come back as they are a state of being alive nor dead thus their death is merely imaginary[224][225][226]), Regeneration (High-Godly; Alucard returned back to his physical form[227] after being erased on such a scale that he became a collection of imaginary numbers, existing everywhere and nowhere, meaning he was nonexistent through every point in time[228][229][230][231]), Paradox Existence (Concept and Non-Concept; In the state of Schrödinger's Cat, Alucard is neither alive or dead, and nothing more then a cluster of imaginary numbers[232][233][234][235]), Personal Nonexistence (Metaphysical Nonexistence; As Alucard exists both everywhere and nowhere and is merely a set of imaginary numbers, he does not exist[236][237][238][239]), Metaphysics Manipulation (Soul Manipulation; Killed over three million, four hundred twenty-four thousand, eight hundred and sixty-seven souls in the span of thirty years without tiring[240], all while not existing for those 30 years)

Equipment

Hellsing ARMS .454 Casull Auto
Hellsing Combat Pistol 'Jackal'
Thompson SMG

Notable Techniques

  • Regeneration: Alucard has the ability to perfectly and quickly recover from any physical injury. He has been torn to shreds by conventional weaponry and holy weaponry designed to kill his kind and has survived all of it. Holy weapons, while they do affect him more, are regenerated all the same if not as quickly[241].
  • Extrasensory Perception: Alucard has senses that are not only sharper than a mortal's, affording him abilities such as perfect accuracy, but he has abilities that they completely lack. In particular, he possesses a 'third-eye' which allows him to see things from far, far distances[242]. Though he never uses it to do so, he can likely see through things that fool human eyes, as Seras does when facing Zorin Blitz[243] . This is not an inherent ability and must be used consciously, as Alucard was unable to see through Tubalcain's illusionary clones. Similarly, Seras was unable to see through Zorin's illusions until told outright that's what they were.
  • Dark Composition: Though he generally dons a corporeal, humanoid form, Alucard is made up of a highly variable otherworldly substance that is black in core and reddish on its edges[244]. This can be especially seen whenever he takes heavy damage, the darkness being immune to conventional weaponry. Along with composing his being, it can serve as a weapon. Alucard is able to transform this material into virtually anything he chooses, like a puddle of goo.
  • Intangibility: Alucard has the ability to walk through solid objects, such as walls[245].
  • Immortality: It is unclear if Alucard is a true immortal, but he is at least biologically immortal, immune to disease and aging. Alucard has suffered all manner of injury to the most extreme degrees, only to reform himself. This seems to indicate structural immortality as well, but the vampire himself asserts that there is no such thing as a true immortal[246]. This means his immortality is only biological, and there is a way to kill him. Anderson's talk of him being "alone"[247] and his duel with Walter implies that after his seals are removed, his heart is vulnerable to being impaled, if not other forms of destruction, which would, in turn, destroy him for good. After absorbing Schrödinger, his immortality may have been augmented, but if so, it is not known how.
  • Hematophagy: As a vampire, Alucard has the ability to consume blood raw. He has long, conical fangs to assist in this job as well as a serpentine-like tongue. His feeding habits have been seen to vary: from the traditional neck-biting[248] to simply ripping people to pieces and outright devouring them. Alucard doesn't seem to need blood to survive, however, if starved of it, he will enter an inactive death-like state.
  • Aestivation: Alucard will enter a dormant state if he goes too long without blood. It is unknown if he can be starved to death, as he goes decades without a drop of blood before a young Integra finds him. It is never made clear if this is unique to him or if all vampires can do this[249].
  • Hemokinesis: Alucard has the ability to manipulate blood [250]. This ability seems to be limited to blood outside of the body, as he is never seen influencing the blood of enemies while they are intact.
    • Soul Absorption: By draining a person of their blood, Alucard gains dominance over their souls and very forms. He also takes on whatever knowledge they possess, as he was able to find out about Millennium by draining Tubalcain Alhambra of his blood.
      • Anderson, surrounded by Alucard's familiar army.
Familiar Control: Alucard can summon forth anyone he's taking the soul of at will[251]. Whoever he absorbs, their powers are at his disposal. While Seras gives her familiar, Pip Vernedead, some free reign within her own soul, Alucard seems content to completely dominate everything living inside him. It is unclear if this is due to their individual wills or a lack of experience on Seras' part. It is unclear if Alucard is able to gain any familiars after consuming Schrödinger. During the battle of London, Alucard releases Level zero, his final restraint, and releases all souls that he possessed to roam freely, wiping out the entire Crusader army and almost all of the Last Battalion. He has thousands, if not millions, of familiars including Alhambra and Winkle themselves. In the end, all of them have been slain.
  • Shapeshifting: Though form is of no particular importance to him, Alucard claims to be able to change into anything. He has changed into a child, several bats[252], an amorphous darkness[253], has several "default" forms[254][255], and can assume the form of a hellhound[256]. It is unknown if he can take the shape of inanimate objects such as tables or chairs. In Ultimate 5, or chapter 34, Alucard was shown spawning multiple arms to hold Rip Van Winkle still while he's drinking her blood.
    • Mist Body: Alucard is capable of turning his body into some sort of dark reddish mist in order to render attacks against him useless[257].
  • Telepathy: Alucard is able to communicate telepathically with his fledgling, Seras. The telepathy doesn't seem to have a maximum range[258]. He can also read the thoughts of others, if he wishes.
  • Teleportation: Alucard is able to vanish and reappear at a different location. The range in which he can teleport is unknown. He also can't cross large bodies of water this way as shown when he had to pilot a plane to the H.M.S Eagle and later take control of the ship in order to return to England.
  • Telekinesis: Alucard showed said ability when he was able to move the HMS Eagle to London overnight. Said ability was also demonstrated in the OVA when he knocked away two of the queen's bodyguards without even touching them, and how he slammed the door shut when the SWAT team attacking him in the hotel tried to escape. It can also be assumed that he used telekinesis to toss all of the SWAT team out of the hotel to impale them on flag poles.
  • Daywalking: Other vampires operate in the dark, because of a presumed weakness to light. Alucard, however, seems to have no problem with sunlight, only complaining that being up during the day is exhausting.
  • Weather Control: The ability to control the weather to an unknown limit, as demonstrated by the fog created when he returned to London aboard the H.M.S Eagle.
  • Alucard's hypnosis ability.
Hypnosis: Alucard has the ability to control minds, doing so exclusively with humans. The afflicted human will enter a euphoric, stupor-like state and their eyes will glow red. They will be pliant to all of Alucard's designs, doing and speaking as he wills. This hypnotic link is established through direct eye-contact and does not waver, even when Alucard's attention is elsewhere[259].
  • Gravity Defiance: Alucard, during his fight with Tubalcain, is shown not only to be able to stand vertically on a wall, but run backward up it. This would indicate some ability to defy gravity. Also, during Seras' first mission, Alucard is seen floating behind Seras.
  • Supernatural Detection: The ability to sense supernatural activity. In The Dawn, a prequel to Hellsing, Alucard knew the Captain was a werewolf the moment he saw him, and in the OVA, he could see the blessings on Father Anderson's bayonets as well as the holy barrier preventing their escape.

Being too powerful to be left on his own, his power is restricted by the "Control Art Restriction System (拘束制御術式, Kōsoku Seigyo Jutsushiki?)" and has to be accessed by the "Cromwell Invocation". There are shown to be six levels of restriction and six corresponding states, with lower numbers meaning greater levels of power.

  • First Form:
The first form Alucard had in the OVA was in a black straightjacket that kept his arms right behind his back, he broke free of the restraints in order to protect Integra Hellsing from death. Alucard's appearance changed since then but every now and then he goes back to this form, he has used it; in his fight with Luke Valentine, his fight with Tubalcain Alhambra, when he attempted to board the Eagle and succeeded when he finally killed Anderson, and in his fight with Walter.
  • Young Girl Form:
In World War II (September 1944, specifically), when he arrived in Warsaw, Alucard took on the form of a little girl, known as "Girlycard" by many fans. Although he changed his looks, Alucard didn't change his voice (at least, in the OVA. It is possible that his voice changed in the manga). In this form, Alucard wears a hat made of fur, a white suit including a long coat, and for a weapon, he has a Tommy gun.
  • Buisiness Man Form:
When Alucard was sent by Integra Hellsing to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, along with Seras Victoria and Pip Vernedead, he changed his form to what seemed to be a businessman. Only Alucard's clothes seem to change here, as his hair is as it was before Abraham Van Helsing defeated him. Alucard wears a dark grey suit with a long coat he only wears over his shoulders, along with the goggle-sided sunglasses he usually wears.
  • Count Dracula:
Alucard is Count Dracula, the King Of Vampires, which means when he was human he was originally Vlad The Impaler, a three-time Voivode of Wallachia. Alucard's Vlad form is his "original" form, and when he is using it he wears shining silver armor and a large black cape, which is red on the inside. In the English dub, he also gains a Romanian accent. In real life, Vlad had a beard, but in Hellsing, he does not. He does, however, have a lot of stubble when he transforms. Also, when Alucard returns to Integra Hellsing and Seras Victoria in London, Seras asks Alucard after he transformed into Vlad- "You originally had a beard, didn't you?" (In the English dub she just playfully points out that he grew a mustache).
  • Count Form:
Alucard's most common form is his "Count" form, which is the same form described at the top of the page. It is possible that Alucard mimicked this attire from Abraham Van Helsing, who wore a similar uniform in Alucard's flashback in OVA 2. Alucard uses his "Count" form throughout the whole story of Hellsing, but only wears the fedora hat up to OVA 3, and the glasses up to OVA 4. Alucard sometimes manipulates this form; by increasing the length of the cape of his overcoat, even reaching his feet, or he simply wears the coat without having his arms through the sleeves and over his shoulders, as he does when he reaches the Eagle in OVA 4. Even though in "The Dawn" Alucard uses his form as a young girl, in the WW2 clips in the OVA 3 credits, Alucard is seen in his common "Count" form while being gunned down by Nazis, and regenerating shortly after. Alucard even reverts back to his "Count" form halfway through his second fight with Anderson, right after leaving his "Original" Vlad form. Interestingly enough, when he regenerates, so does his clothing.
  • Black Hound Form:
One form which is the least used appears to be his usage the Black hound of Baskerville's form. It appears as a large black dog with multiple eyes on each side of his face. Alucard is seen as the dog in the Hellsing opening as well as in the trailer for the Hellsing OVAs.

*Omnipresence: After consuming Schrödinger accidentally and being lost within himself for 30 years, Alucard emerges with the Werekin's powers. He is both nowhere and everywhere. As people saw that Schrödinger couldn’t die when shot in the head, the reason behind this is due to people thinking of his existence and that he is able to escape death. The Major has stated that Schrödinger only exists for as long as he is aware of himself, however, Alucard didn't recognize himself during the events of the Battle of London, therefore, he disappeared and was gone for 30 years. Alucard, after he's back at the Hellsing Manor, explained that during the long 30 years, all he's been doing is killing all the souls inside of him when he absorbed the millions of people that died in London, except for one soul; Schrödinger's. So as long as Alucard is fully aware of his existence, he would be alive and can use Schrödinger's powers freely, however, if he does not recognize himself, he will disappear from reality itself and become "Nowhere". It is apparent that Alucard has this ability because he is able to appear within the Hellsing mansion as nothing but a shadow, not alarming Seras' familiar, shadow Pip, who covers the entire mansion. Thanks to this Alucard is able to do this as well as being able to be in places where normally he could not do[260].

Other

Standard Tactics: Alucard's strategy heavily vaires on how worthy he feels the opponent is, with low level enemies and vampires he will merely just use his two guns to shoot them to death. Though he employs battle strategy weaknesses such as letting himself get shot against opponents[261].

Weaknesses: Any servants or ghouls of vampires will perish if the head vampire is killed[262]. Along with this, the process of a corpse turning into a ghoul is not instantaneous and can take some time, allowing one to dispose of the corpse before it can turn into a ghoul[263]. A vampire will be killed if an attack goes through their heart[264], though it's noted that Alucard won't die just from being stabbed in the heart or having his head cut off[265]. Vampires can't plug up wounds gotten from a weapon blessed by a church[266]. Vampires can be trapped within holy barriers[267]. Vampires must sleep in a coffin in order to not have their powers weaken[268]. Vampires are unable to cross running waters like rivers and oceans, though Alucard seems unaffected by this[269], it's further noted that they cannot cross rivers, oceans, lakes or flowing canals[270]. Vampires carry a weakness to sunlight, though for Alucard, he just hates it[271]. Alucard will not try to dodge shots and let himself be shot when fighting against opponents[272]. Vampires detest garlic and crosses[273]. Eucharist wafers and holy water can burn a vampire's flesh[274]. Vampires can have their illusions negated through their true self being attacked[275]. If a vampire fuses with a concept such as Schrödinger's Cat, they run the risk of being erased based off the the concept[276][277][278][279]. Alucard himself wants truly a human to kill him, in which he will allow a human to kill him if he views the human as brave enough[280].

Trivia

  • Interestingly, in the English commentary for the first Hellsing Ultimate OVA, Crispin Freeman notes that he was originally going to give Alucard a Romanian accent, but decided on an American accent instead. Most likely, the Romanian accent heard in the intro of the English OVA II, and the one in OVA VIII upon unleashing level 0 is what Alucard was originally going to sound like. It's also likely that Alucard is meant to have a Romanian accent in the manga.
  • It has been noted by some that during Alucard's flashback, Prof. Abraham Hellsing is wearing a similar red outfit to Alucard's usual dress.
    • This could have been the inspiration for Alucard's well-known "Count" form.
  • In some scenes of the manga, the pentagram on Alucard's gloves changes to a hexagram or sometimes disappears entirely.
  • Alucard has two Paganism references on him. The obvious one is the Pentacle symbol on his gloves. The second is his epithet, "The Bird of Hermes." Hermes was the Greek messenger god, noted for his winged sandals and ability to fly. Hermes was also noted for transporting souls to the Underworld, while Alucard, in contrast, devours them.
    • "The Bird of Hermes is my name/Eating my wings to make me tame" is also part of the Ripley Scroll, a medieval work about emblematic symbolism. George Ripley was an alchemist who lived around Vlad the Impaler's time and is also said to have known the formula to create the Philosopher's Stone.
  • At the end of the credits of OVA 1, Alucard's girl form is shown, but with a dark greenish-brown jacket instead of white and the hair is purple instead of black.
  • In the manga, Alucard's gloves hold an easter egg, as one of the words readable was "Excel Saga" which is the name of an anime/manga made by Rikdo Koshi.
  • Before becoming a vampire, Alucard's eyes were a bluish-purple in the OVA. However, in his famous portrait, Vlad Tepes has brown eyes. There are also historical records that describe him as having "threatening" green eyes.
  • The character Solomon from Genndy Tartakovsky's Sym-Bionic Titan cartoon is a visual reference to Alucard.
