~ Avdol describing Magician's Red's ability |
Muhammad Avdol is a primary ally to Jotaro Kujo and Joseph Joestar in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. He is friends with Joseph and joins the Joestar Party on their journey across the world to defeat DIO, providing knowledge about Stands, theirs users, and the countries they travel too. His Stand is Magician's Red, a physically powerful and fast Stand that allows Avdol to manipulate fire.

Note: Credit to the JoJo's Bizarre Encyclopedia. BackgroundMuhammad Avdol was born at some point during the 1960s, and was a natural born Stand user. Avdol made a living as a fortune-teller in a bazaar named Khan el-Khalili in the Islamic district of Cairo, Egypt. Before the events of Stardust Crusaders, he had met and barely tamed the Stand-wielding dog Iggy. Four months prior, he encountered the newly resurrected DIO standing outside the first floor of his Fortune Telling Shop and barely escaped with his life and sanity, having been warned by his friend Joseph Joestar that DIO was dangerous. Subsequently, Joseph and Avdol tried to locate DIO but even though Joseph could take spirit photographs of DIO with Hermit Purple, he was always in the shadows and they couldn't guess his location. Stardust Crusaders (1988)Tokyo, JapanAvdol and Joseph go to Tokyo, Japan, in order to recruit Jotaro Kujo. They find Jotaro in jail, refusing to go out despite being free. Jotaro claims to be possessed by an evil spirit. Avdol steps in to force Jotaro out. He summons Magician's Red, attacking Jotaro while he explains what Stands are. Properly summoning his own Stand, Jotaro breaks free of Magician's Red fire and breaks free of his cell to attack but Avdol stops the fight, as he's accomplished his goal. For the remainder of his stay in Tokyo, Avdol remains inside the Kujo's residence. After Jotaro brings Noriaki Kakyoin and frees him from DIO's control, Avdol sees that Holy has collapsed and confirms his suspicion that she too has developed a Stand. However, as she doesn't have the necessary fighting spirit, Avdol explains that she will eventually die. Jotaro uses his Stand to look at one of DIO's photography and identifies a fly. Avdol identifies it as a Nile Tsetse Fly, meaning that DIO must be in Egypt. Noriaki Kakyoin confirms that DIO is in Egypt and also asks to go with them. Avdol then names Jotaro's Stand Star Platinum, after the "Star" card of the tarot. After Holy is given to the care of doctors from the Speedwagon Foundation, the group gets ready to depart. Hong KongAlthough the group plans to fly to Cairo, their flight is ruined by the attack of Tower of Gray, a beetle-like Stand whose unknown user loves to cause accidents. Kakyoin defeats Tower of Gray but it has already killed the pilots, causing the plane to crash near Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, the group decides to rest in a restaurant but they then are immediately attacked by a French Stand user named Jean Pierre Polnareff. Polnareff presents his knight-Stand, Silver Chariot, and its incredible fencing prowess. Avdol is the first to challenge Polnareff. In the Tiger Balm Garden, the two begin their duel. Avdol adopts a defensive stance and Polnareff carves a statue in the shape of Magician's Red to show off. Avdol uses a special technique: the Cross-fire Hurricane. Magician's Red spits an ankh of fire but Silver Chariot sends it back at Magician's Red, seemingly burning it. Magician's Red throws itself at Silver Chariot and Polnareff cuts it in two. However, the flames pass on to Silver Chariot, as Avdol reveals that he's faked being injured and used the statue Silver Chariot made as a decoy. Avdol shoots a second Cross-fire Hurricane at Silver Chariot, but Polnareff stands back up unharmed. Silver Chariot was protected by its armor and cast it off to dramatically increase in speed. Avdol shoots a flame but Silver Chariot easily evades it. When Avdol shoots his Cross-fire Hurricane Special, Polnareff expects to knock it back but is taken by surprise by the first flame Avdol has shot. Avdol wins the battle. Polnareff is covered in flames and Avdol tosses him a dagger to commit suicide, but unexpectedly, Polnareff refuses to use the dagger against Avdol and decides to kill himself. Impressed by Polnareff's honor, Avdol cancels the flames and Jotaro extracts DIO's spore. South China Sea & SingaporeThe group takes a ship to Singapore crewed by sailors whose background has been checked by the Speedwagon Foundation. In the sea, Avdol is present when Jotaro unmasks the Impostor Captain Tennille, whose Stand Dark Blue Moon is especially powerful in the sea. Jotaro defeats the enemy Stand user, but the Impostor had already sabotaged the ship, forcing everyone on the lifeboats. In the middle of the sea, the group encounters a large ship, only to discover that it's a Stand named Strength. The user, an orangutan, battles Jotaro but is quickly defeated. In Singapore, Avdol remains at Joseph's side, while Polnareff and Jotaro are attacked by Devo the Cursed's Ebony Devil and Rubber Soul and his Yellow Temperance respectively. The Joestar Group subsequently takes a train to India. IndiaIn Calcutta, Polnareff is confronted by Hanged Man, the Stand of the man who killed his sister. Polnareff heads out alone to avenge his sister. Avdol tries to dissuade him, but Polnareff calls him a coward for having fled DIO. The two go on separate ways on bad terms. Later, Polnareff is ambushed by Hol Horse and J. Geil. Polnareff is taken by surprise by Emperor's bullets that can fly around his sword. Thankfully, Avdol shoves Polnareff aside. Unaware of the abilities of Hol Horse's Emperor and J. Geil's Hanged Man, Avdol falls prey to a combination attack of the two Stand users, being stabbed from behind by J. Geil's Hanged Man and shot by Hol Horse's Emperor. Their combined attack, however, didn't have the wanted effect, as the pain suffered by the stab of Hanged Man caused Avdol to tilt his head backward, causing Emperor's bullet to only scratch his forehead instead of directly hitting it. His survival was kept a secret from Polnareff, as the group didn't want Avdol to be attacked while he was recovering from his injuries and Polnareff's lack of caution would cause the enemy to find out that Avdol was still alive. Avdol's returnFrom there, it was assumed that he died while he was recovering. After his recovery, he bought a submarine in secret and awaited the rest of the group on an island in the Red Sea. Avdol disguised himself as his father, refusing to talk to Polnareff to keep his secret. When Polnareff fell victim to Cameo's onslaught, tricked by clones made by Judgement of Sherry Polnareff and Avdol, the real Avdol revealed himself. Summoning Magician's Red, Avdol destroyed the clay clones and easily dispatched Judgement before taking out Cameo. After joining again with the group they traveled in Avdol's new submarine, but it was quickly destroyed by Midler's High Priestess while they were traveling in the water. As the submarine sank, Avdol and the others were forced to take scuba gear and swim. High Priestess then formed into the bedrock of the ocean and proceeded to eat them. It tried to crush Jotaro with its teeth, but Jotaro was able to use Star Platinum to completely smash High Priestess's teeth's defeating its user. Arrival to Egypt (1989)The Nile River, EgyptOnce in Egypt, Avdol asked the Speedwagon Foundation to bring Iggy to join the group. Moreover, they learned that nine supplementary Stand users were in DIO's service, surprising even Avdol who thought they defeated nearly all of the tarot. After meeting with the Foundation's envoys, the group saw the envoy's helicopter crashed in the desert. Geb, a Stand of water remotely piloted by the Stand user N'Doul, was responsible for the crash. Hiding in the sand, Geb managed to surprise Noriaki Kakyoin and take him out. However, Geb was then distracted by the ringing wristwatch of a dead pilot, making the group realize that N'Doul was listening to sound to pinpoint where his enemies were. The group tried to flee on their car but Geb quickly destroyed it by creating quicksand. By throwing his own ring cuffs into the sand, Avdol tried to trick N'Doul into thinking he was slowly walking and waited for Geb to resurface. Although N'Doul took the bait, the enemy Stand user realized at the last moment that it was a trick and avoided Magician's Red's flames, counterattacking and slashing at Avdol's throat, who was taken out. Avdol had to recover from his injuries in Aswan but his wound was not severe and he was able to accompany the rest of the group. In Luxor, Avdol fell victim to Mariah's Bastet when he tried to save an already magnetized Joseph from an escalator. Pursuing Mariah in the streets, the two then became stuck together. After passing through a series of increasingly embarrassing situations, the pair got stuck on train tracks. Revealing herself, Mariah gloated as a passing train would run them over and they couldn't possibly get away, but Avdol then used his Magician's Red to dig a hole underneath the tracks. Although they had her, Mariah threw bolts and nuts at them, managing to get away. Getting serious, Joseph created a map of the city with Hermit Purple. Thanks to that, they managed to surround her, although they had amassed a lot of metallic objects along the way. However, Mariah was still in a strong position as a she was underneath high voltage power lines. She cut the lines and the cables were attracted to Joseph and Avdol, who was able to melt the cables to defend himself. Nonetheless, a nearby truck was attracted to him and threatened to crush him. After begging Mariah to stop, Joseph unveiled his true plan. The old man let go his grip on the pavement and let himself fly toward Avdol, crushing Mariah in the mass of metal. Cairo, EgyptHaving divined a photography of DIO's lair, the group began their search. In the outskirts of Cairo, Avdol is present during Polnareff, Joseph, and Jotaro's battles against Daniel J. D'Arby as a spectator. Jotaro bets Avdol's soul along with Jotaro's own soul and his mother's during their poker game, giving Avdol anxiety toward the outcome of the match. Afterward, Avdol was one of the victims of Hol Horse's assassination attempts in the older districts of Cairo, but survived thanks to Hol Horse's sheer bad luck. As Holy Kujo's condition worsened, Avdol resorted to asking a beggar from Cairo to find DIO's mansion. However, the beggar was killed. The next day, the group reunited with Kakyoin and it was Iggy, who had found the mansion earlier, who led the group to DIO's Mansion. Battle in DIO's MansionWhen the group finally arrived in DIO's mansion, they were greeted by Telence T. D'Arby, the butler of the mansion. Telence then abducted Jotaro, Kakyoin and Joseph through a black hole and Joseph told Avdol to wait a bit before burning the mansion. After waiting 10 minutes, Avdol, Polnareff and Iggy decided to investigate the mansion instead. Avdol said that he couldn't act as Polnareff's guardian and he should be more careful from now on. The group came across a labyrinthine interior but Avdol managed to detect the presence of Kenny G. in the area before Iggy defeated him, showing that the strange landscape was but an illusion. After the mansion returned to its regular appearance, Avdol placed his hand on a pillar where he noticed a message written on it that read "He who reads this carving and turns aback shall perish". After turning his head around, Avdol witnessed Cream manifesting from its void. Polnareff and Iggy were both unaware of Vanilla Ice's presence and, without hesitation, Avdol quickly pushed them both out of the way of Vanilla Ice's attack and received said attack head-on. Avdol's death was instantaneous as he is erased, his arms being the only thing of his body left intact until Vanilla Ice's Cream came back and ate them. However, while facing Polnareff, Ice stated that Avdol was responsible for his injuries since he was the one who saved Polnareff and Iggy. After Ice's defeat, Avdol, along with Iggy, who also died after sustaining grievous injuries from Ice, were seen as souls transcending into heaven. |

Avdol's tarot cards
Avdol's dagger
Avdol's disguise
Avdol's submarine
Avdol using scuba diving gear
Avdol summoning Magician's Red
Red Bind being used on Jotaro Kujo
Cross Fire Hurricane
Cross Fire Hurricane Special
Magician's Red's Lifeform Detector
Standard Tactics: Avdol will use Magician's Red to attack and defend against his opponents with both fire and physical strikes.
Weaknesses: If A Stand is damaged the user will by proxy take damage and if they're damaged, their Stand will take damage. A Stand's energy or power is inversely proportional to their range of operation, the farther away the Stand goes, the weaker, slower, and less precise its movements become. The less air a Stand user has the weaker their Stand becomes. If a Stand user becomes unconscious their Stand will deactivate. Stands that imbue themselves into objects, take the shape of an item, or merge with a user’s body can be seen by normal humans. Stands are tied to the mental abilities of the user, with Stands becoming weaker if the user's mental abilities are weakened. Stands require the spirit to fight in order to be used or else the Stand will harm its user making them sick with a deadly fever. When one's Stand is shrunken to a microscopic level it has a hard time phasing through object. Keeping a Stand shrunken to a microscopic level is exhausting for the user. Stands can't be summoned in dreams, with the user only being able to use their Stand if they pass out while using their Stand. Avdol is suborn and can be short tempered. Avdol will give his life to protect those he cares about. Magician's Red's fire can be put out by water.

Note: Credit to the JoJo's Bizarre Encyclopedia. BackgroundKakyoin Noriaki was born in 1970 in Japan. When Kakyoin was a little older, he had difficulty making friends due to the fact that he felt no one could understand him since no one he met could see Hierophant Green. One day, one of his teachers even told his mother that none of the other children disliked Kakyoin, but that he was unapproachable and just didn't seem to want to make any friends. His mother, saddened, admitted that even she didn't know much about her own son or understand why he was so withdrawn. Kakyoin observed the children around him writing down the names of their friends and thought about how the people around him had someone who could understand them. He felt even his own parents had each other, but that they would never be able to relate to him. This caused him to become a withdrawn individual who felt different from others. In August 1988, Kakyoin was approached by DIO while traveling in Egypt with his family. DIO brainwashed Kakyoin into following his will via his flesh buds and gave Kakyoin the mission to kill Jotaro Kujo. Kakyoin returned to Japan and attended the same school as Jotaro. Stardust Crusaders (1988)Stalking Jotaro on the way to school, Kakyoin attempts a first attack on Jotaro by slashing his leg just as Jotaro goes down some stairs. Jotaro tumbles down but manages to land on a tree to soften his fall. Afterwards, Kakyoin conspicuously approaches Jotaro and offers him a handkerchief to press against his wound, on which Kakyoin has written a message declaring he'd kill Jotaro. Later at the school nurse's office, Kakyoin manipulates the school nurse with Hierophant Green, using her to attack Jotaro and protect his Stand. However, Jotaro forcefully extracts Hierophant Green from the nurse, which is then hurt. Hierophant Green uses the Emerald Splash to blast Star Platinum away. However, Jotaro is angered by the sight of the wounded nurse and fights seriously. Star Platinum simply powers through the Emerald Splash, grabs Hierophant Green by the neck and pummels it. Kakyoin is knocked out and Jotaro brings him back home. The heroes discover that Kakyoin is under DIO's influence because of a flesh bud controlling his brain and Jotaro uses Star Platinum to remove DIO's implant from Kakyoin's head - despite the risk that it might openly attack both of them. Kakyoin is freed from DIO's control. As a result, he decides to help the heroes; he confirms that DIO is hiding in Egypt and joins Jotaro, Joseph Joestar, and Muhammad Avdol on their trip to Egypt to fight DIO. The Journey BeginsAt the beginning of the trip, the group is attacked by Gray Fly, whose Tower of Gray proves to be a match even for Star Platinum. Kakyoin steps in as his more subtle powers will prevent the battle from damaging the plane. Tower of Gray easily flies through the Emerald Splash and almost pierces Hierophant Green's mouth with its sharp tongue. However, Kakyoin ambushes the enemy Stand by revealing tentacles he's hidden in the chair. The tentacles impale Tower of Gray and the enemy is defeated. However, Gray Fly has killed the plane's pilots. While Joseph tries to perform an emergency landing, Kakyoin apologizes to the stewardesses for Jotaro's rudeness. The group is forced to go to Hong Kong. Hong KongIn Hong Kong, the group goes to a restaurant and discuss their next plan. Incidentally, Kakyoin shows the local tea etiquette to Jotaro. Kakyoin is then a witness of the battle between Muhammad Avdol and the Frenchman Jean Pierre Polnareff, a Stand user who is also controlled by DIO. Polnareff is defeated by Avdol and then freed, then also joins the heroes to seek his sister's killer. South China Sea & SingaporeThe Joestar Group then takes the sea route aboard a ship manned by members of the Speedwagon Foundation. The crew discovers a stowaway girl who dives into the shark-infested sea, and Jotaro dives into the water to save her from a shark. However, another enemy Stand lurks in the water. Thankfully, Kakyoin uses Hierophant Green to lift Jotaro and the girl back to the ship. Jotaro unmasks the Impostor Captain Tennille and ultimately defeats him. However, the ship is sabotaged and the heroes and crew must go to the lifeboats. The Joestar Group then encounters a strange ship, devoid of life except for an orangutan. Kakyoin searches the ship with Hierophant Green but doesn't find anyone out of the ordinary. Soon, the ship reveals itself as the orangutan's Stand and the living hull of the ship almost crushes Kakyoin along his companions. Thankfully, Jotaro defeats the ape. In Singapore, Kakyoin stays out of the battles against Devo the Cursed and Rubber Soul. Although Joseph's Hermit Purple claims that he is a traitor sent by DIO, it is revealed that it is merely Rubber Soul posing as Kakyoin, who tries to assassinate Jotaro. Returning to the group, Jotaro then tells Kakyoin about the battle and his impersonator. While they cross Malaysia by train, Kakyoin takes a cherry from Jotaro's plate and licks it. India & PakistanWhen the Joestar Group arrives in Calcutta, Kakyoin is subject to the culture shock. Someone notably steals his wallet. Later, Jean Pierre Polnareff is attacked by Hanged Man, the Stand of his sister's killer. While Hanged Man quickly retreats, Polnareff decides to separate himself from the group to find the murderer alone. The group still searches for him. Kakyoin arrives just in time to see Avdol being seemingly killed by Hol Horse and J. Geil. Shocked by Avdol's death, Kakyoin joins the fight and advises Polnareff to stay calm. Polnareff is goaded into leaving himself vulnerable to Hanged Man but Hierophant Green uses the Emerald Splash to knock him out of the way. Kakyoin takes a truck and the two of them flee away from Hol Horse. During the reprieve, Polnareff apologizes for his behavior and Kakyoin forgives him with an elbow to the face. Polnareff claims that Hanged Man is attacking from inside the mirrors but Kakyoin refutes this claim as world inside the mirrors don't exist. Suddenly, Hanged Man appears on the steering wheel, forcing the truck to crash. Polnareff then discovers that Hanged Man is a Stand of light that jumps from reflective surface to reflective surface. Although a boy then unwittingly carries Hanged Man and keeps looking at the heroes while he tries to help them, Polnareff kicks sand in the child's eye and traps Hanged Man in his eye. Moreover, Silver Chariot has been able to slash it midair and the enemy's cry of pain can be heard. Kakyoin and Polnareff are ambushed by J. Geil, who calls the beggars around and surrounds the heroes with them, which allows Hanged Man to strike from all angles. However, Kakyoin takes out a shiny coin, on which all the beggars focus their attention, and tosses it high in the air. This allows Polnareff to kick sand in the eye of Hanged Man's host and then slash it in two as it is forced to fly towards the coin. Polnareff then finishes off J. Geil. Later, the heroes confront Hol Horse but the cowboy manages to flee thanks to his girlfriend Nena's intervention. Kakyoin is later informed of Avdol's survival but keeps it a secret from Polnareff. After leaving Varanasi, the Joestar Group's car is harassed by an unknown driver. Suspecting that he is an enemy, the group follows the car only to be tricked toward a cliff and pushed down. Thankfully, Kakyoin and Jotaro combine their Hierophant Green and Star Platinum to save the car while also throwing the enemy car down the cliff. However, it is revealed that the car is Wheel of Fortune, a car Stand. It climbs back up the cliff and proves to be exceptionally strong, forcing the group to retreat. The enemy seemingly kills Jotaro but Jotaro reappears and defeats them. The driver, ZZ, is defeated and tied to a rock. Later in Pakistan, the group arrives at a foggy city. Enya the Hag appears and pretend to be a hotel owner, welcoming the group in her hotel. Eventually, Jotaro unmasks her and defeats her. The group bring the unconscious Enya with them to Karachi, where they encounter Steely Dan. Steely Dan activates a flesh bud in Enya's brain, killing her. However, the group is unable to fight him. Dan's Stand, Lovers, has entered Joseph's brain and any pain Dan feels will be returned manifold to Joseph who may die from shock. Joseph, Kakyoin and Polnareff retreat and use a TV set to look inside of Joseph's brain. Kakyoin and Polnareff subsequently send Hierophant Green and Silver Chariot into Joseph's brain where they fight Lovers. When Lovers uses many flesh clones, the Emerald Splash seems useless, but Kakyoin sneakily deploys his tentacles to check all the clones, finding the real enemy Stand. Lovers is wounded and flees, but with Hierophant's tentacles still tied to it. The tentacle binds him, stopping Dan from using a girl as hostage. Jotaro then pummels Steely Dan. Arabia and the Red SeaThe group reaches Abu Dhabi. Joseph decides to use camels to reach their next destination but, in the middle of the desert, the heroes notices that it the evening an that the Sun is still up. They figure that it is an enemy Stand but they see no one around. Kakyoin sends Hierophant Green to check how far Sun is from them, only to be wounded when the Sun shoots laser rays at Hierophant Green. Overwhelmed by the attack, the group must hide under a rock, in the scorching heat. Kakyoin eventually bursts out in laughter after figuring out Arabia's trick, although Joseph thinks that he is going mad. Jotaro then quickly disposes of the enemy. Later, the heroes reach Yabrin. Kakyoin has a dream where he is in a deserted amusement park, accompanied only by a dog. Suddenly, the Death tarot card appears, and he is attacked by its image, the Stand Death Thirteen, killing the dog, before Polnareff wakes him up to tell him that they are on the way out of town. Kakyoin becomes concerned when he finds his hand has been cut in his sleep, and more so when he spots the dog he saw in his dreams, killed in the same manner as he saw in the dream. The heroes then take off on a Cessna, accompanied by a sick baby. However, the baby is Mannish Boy, one of DIO's agents. While in flight, both Kakyoin and Polnareff fall asleep and find themselves at the amusement park, again. Kakyoin tries to warn Polnareff that he was attacked in his dreams by a Stand, using the dead dog as proof, but Polnareff does not seem to pay much attention, until Death Thirteen makes itself known once more, attacking the two of them. They find that in their dreams they cannot summon their Stands to fight back, but before Death Thirteen lands a mortal blow on Polnareff, Joseph wakes him up to have him change the baby's diaper, leaving Kakyoin on his own. As Death Thirteen is revealed to be the Stand of Mannish Boy, Kakyoin cuts his own arm, as he thrashes about in his sleep, causing Joseph to crash the plane. As the team sets up camp to prepare for rescue, Kakyoin sees that he has cut the words "Baby Stand" into his arm, leading him to realize that the child they have been taking with them is their attacker. He tries to warn the others, but they do not believe him, as Mannish Boy is pleased that his plans to kill the group are succeeding. While Joseph prepares a dinner for the baby, Kakyoin sees the baby kill a scorpion that had crept into his basket and begins to openly accuse him of being the enemy. However, the baby manages to hide the evidence so that the others do not believe him. After failing to convince everyone with the message on his arm, Kakyoin attempts to attack Mannish Boy, but he is knocked out by Polnareff, who believes he has gone insane. Jotaro, Joseph, and Polnareff end up in the dream amusement park. Fortunately for them, Kakyoin, who had summoned Hierophant Green before he was knocked out, is able to bring him into the dream world to fight against Death Thirteen. Mannish Boy attempts to use the dream world to his advantage and slice Hierophant Green in half, but Kakyoin manages to instead send his Stand into Death Thirteen's ear, forcing Mannish Boy to heal his wounds and accept defeat. The next morning, as everyone else forgets what happened in the dream, Kakyoin decides to spare Mannish Boy and leave him in a nearby town, making sure that he does not dare try anything again by mixing the child's feces into his food that Joseph later feeds him. As the group crosses the Red Sea, Joseph makes a detour towards an island to meet Muhammad Avdol's father, who is simply Avdol in disguise. The Joestar Group eventually gathers to take a submarine across the Red Sea. In the Red Sea, Kakyoin serves coffee for everyone, but it seems that there are six cups. One of them is revealed to be High Priestess, a Stand that can turn into anything inorganic. It wounds Joseph and sabotages the submarine. Worse it is extremely nimble and stealthy, and Star Platinum cannot capture it. The heroes are forced to use scuba diving equipment to escape the submarine. During their preparation, Kakyoin and Polnareff have a bit of fun with call signs. As the heroes exit the submarine, High Priestess enters Polnareff's mouth but thankfully Hierophant Green and Hermit Purple extract it. Even then, High Priestess eventually fuses with the sea bed and turns into a giant head that swallows the heroes. This only allows Jotaro to smash its teeth from the inside, with takes out the enemy Stand user. The group finally reach Egypt. Arrival to Egypt (1989)Soon after the group's arrival in Egypt, the group meets with Iggy, a stray dog brought by agents of the Speedwagon Foundation. Iggy's Stand made of sand, The Fool, may prove useful in the battle against DIO. However, Iggy himself has a bad personality. Soon after, the group rides across the Egyptian Desert. They see the crash site of the Speedwagon Foundation's envoys and come check on them. They are then attacked by N'Doul's Stand Geb, which is made of water. Polnareff and Kakyoin observe the canteen from which Geb came out and Kakyoin tells Polnareff to attack it, which angers Polnareff. However, Geb has slipped under the sand and ambushes the heroes. Kakyoin is slashed across the eyes and put out of commission for a while. While the rest of the group travels up the Nile, Kakyoin must rest in Aswan. Cairo, EgyptKakyoin eventually recovers and goes to Cairo. He finds a nearly dead Iggy recovering from his fight against Pet Shop. He then regroups with the heroes just before they reach DIO's mansion and is the first to face Telence T. D'Arby, the butler of the mansion. After showing off in front of Jotaro, Telence drags Jotaro into a black hole alongside Joseph and Kakyoin and find themselves in an island where Telence challenges them to a video game competition. Battle in DIO's MansionD'Arby requests that Kakyoin is the first to challenge him to a video game of his choosing, to which he agrees as he himself is quite talented at them. Thus, Kakyoin chooses F-Mega, a racing game. On the starting line, Kakyoin forgets to mash the acceleration button that gives the cars a boost. D'Arby is now slightly ahead and is confident that he will keep his advantage but Kakyoin purposefully spins his car and crashes it against Telence's, making things even; still, Kakyoin is at a slight disadvantage. As D'Arby praises Kakyoin for resisting his fear, Kakyoin internally thinks about the moment he met and fell to DIO, which was the most terrifying, reassuring and humiliating moment of his life. Determined to erase the dishonor of having been brainwashed, Kakyoin is determined to win this race. At the sixth corner of the race track, both players expect to enter a shortcut tunnel, but the tunnel is only large enough to fit one car. Due to his spinning, Kakyoin's car has less energy and is pushed aside by Telence's but he then expertly makes his car drive on the wall of the tunnel. The cars enter the shortcut's most dangerous area where they cannot see the car yet must avoid the mines and a cannon. The suspense rises until both cars emerge from the tunnel and D'Arby is shown to still have the lead. At the exit of the tunnel, D'Arby's car is still ahead of Kakyoin's car and the butler declares his victory. Determined to win, Kakyoin exploits the fact that D'Arby has now less energy on his car to spin and make it fly out off the tracks while he lands safely. Kakyoin has accomplished his plan, but D'Arby was prepared: he purposefully let himself get knocked aside to gain an insurmountable advantage for the race. At the revelation, Kakyoin subconsciously recognizes defeat and Atum steals his soul. D'Arby adds Kakyoin to his collection but Jotaro and Joseph eventually cooperate to defeat Telence. The trio then see the traces of a Stand Battle and wander further inside of the mansion where they encounter the Vampire Nukesaku. Jotaro easily defeats Nukesaku and the group forces him to be their guide. The Final Battle, DIO's WorldJotaro, Joseph and Kakyoin break through a wall and interrupt DIO in the middle of attacking Polnareff. DIO retreats in the shadows. Polnareff uses this reprieve to inform of one of the effects of The World but also informs them that Avdol and Iggy have died to save him. Kakyoin reminds the group that the sun is setting and thus they continue to go further in the mansion, with Nukesaku as their guide. The Vampire leads them to the top of the tower and they find a room with a coffin at its center. Taking some time to think about the stakes, the group surrounds the coffin and forces Nukesaku to open the coffin. Suddenly, Nukesaku is now inside the coffin and has been cut to pieces, taking everyone by surprise. Sensing trouble, the Joestar Group jumps out of the window and already understands that DIO's ability is extremely powerful. The sun is setting and DIO's hour of power is coming soon. While Joseph advises to retreat and let DIO pursue them to learn about his Stand but Polnareff wants to confront him. Thus the group splits in two: Joseph and Kakyoin will flee and try to harass DIO while Jotaro and Polnareff remain in hiding until they can pursue him. Night has fallen and Joseph purchases a truck to flee. Soon enough, DIO wanders in the streets and hijacks the limousine of a certain Wilson Phillips, an American senator. DIO catches up to Joseph's truck, allowing Kakyoin to summon Hierophant Green and attack him. DIO easily deflects the Emerald Splash and then summons The World, which sucker-punches Hierophant Green. Thankfully, Hierophant was out of range and is merely thrown away. Injured, Kakyoin still notes that The World is a close-range Stand with a reach of 10 meters and that it lacks projectile attacks. Still, DIO makes the truck crash when he throws Phillips at Joseph's truck. When the Vampire looks inside, Joseph and Kakyoin have already fled to the roofs of Cairo and Kakyoin has devised a plan to reveal the power of The World. Kakyoin reminisces his very lonely youth as he had no friends and his parents couldn't understand him, because he was unique with his Hierophant Green whom no one save him could see. However, he also remembers the Joestar Group and how they've become friends and comrades-in-arms sharing their unique power. Determined to make DIO reveal his power, Kakyoin plans to use Hierophant's original ability. He lures DIO into a net of Hierophant Green's tentacles that shoot Emerald Splashes from all sides. Kakyoin reveals himself and plans to shoot DIO from all directions while Joseph observes but as the 20-meter Emerald Splash approach DIO, the Vampire summons The World. DIO stops time, approaches Kakyoin has The World punch him through the guts, sending him flying into a water tank. Agonizing, Kakyoin cannot move or talk and spares a thought for his parents back in Japan. However, he then thinks about how DIO ripped his barrier in an instant. He finally understands DIO's power but cannot directly inform Joseph. Using the last of his strength, Kakyoin fires a final Emerald Splash into a nearby clock tower, destroying it. Kakyoin finally expires. Thanks to Kakyoin's efforts, the group is able to defeat DIO once and for all. |

Standard Tactics: Kakyoin will use Hierophant Green to fire out an Emerald Splash at his opponents.

Note: Credit to the JoJo's Bizarre Encyclopedia. BackgroundPolnareff was born in 1964 in the French countryside with his Stand, though he would not realize he had it until some time later. His mother died when he was still young, leaving him alone with his sister Sherry. Three years before events of Stardust Crusaders, his sister was ambushed, raped and murdered by J. Geil. To avenge her, Polnareff travels the world to seek him out but knows next to nothing about him except for his two right hands. It is stated that Polnareff trained extensively with his Silver Chariot to become a strong Stand user. His Stand powers attracted DIO, and they met one year before the events of Stardust Crusaders. During their meeting, DIO used Jonathan Joestar's Stand to show Polnareff a vision of Sherry's murderer through a crystal ball and persuaded Polnareff to join him. DIO also implanted one of his flesh buds in Polnareff, turning him into one of his servants. Stardust Crusaders (1988)Hong KongPolnareff first appears in Hong Kong. Approaching the Joestar Group in a restaurant posing as a tourist, he soon reveals his plans to attack the Joestars, summons his Stand, Silver Chariot, and challenges Muhammad Avdol as his first victim. Polnareff reveals who he is and shows off Silver Chariot's great fencing skill by skewering five coins thrown the air and five flames in one thrust. Avdol answers in kind by remotely commanding the flames to disintegrate a table. Polnareff invites the group to go to the, one of Hong Kong's famous landmarks where the open space will allow Magician's Red to fight at its full potential and make Polnareff's victory all the more honorable. Polnareff and Avdol start their battle. Sure of his victory, Polnareff sculpts a statue of Magician's Red while deflecting its flames into a rock. Avdol uses a special technique: the Cross Fire Hurricane. Magician's Red shoots a giant ankh of flames which Polnareff easily deflects back at the Stand and cuts it in two. However, Avdol has tricked Polnareff with the statue the Frenchman made earlier and shoots a second Cross Fire Hurricane. Polnareff is nonetheless unharmed as Silver Chariot's armor has protected the Stand. Shedding out the armor, Silver Chariot is now so fast it can leave afterimages. Magician's Red attacks again but only succeeds in hitting the ground. Avdol thus decides to use another technique: the Cross Fire Hurricane Special with Magician's Red shooting 6 fire ankhs. Silver Chariot is ready to guard against the attack but is taken out by Avdol's real attack, the flame Avdol has shot into the ground has persisted and dug its way through the ground to hit Polnareff from below. Polnareff is defeated and covered in flames, and Avdol tosses him a dagger so that he can kill himself instead of suffering. Surprisingly, Polnareff doesn't try to attack Avdol with the dagger. Impressed, Avdol cancels the flames and the Joestar Group decides to save him. Jotaro then discovers the flesh bud on his forehead and extracts it. South China Sea & SingaporePolnareff reveals that he's seeking the man who murdered his sister and decides to accompany the Joestar Group for the time being. The group decides to take the sea route and use a ship crewed by men from the Speedwagon Foundation. The crew discovers a stowaway child who dives into a shark-infested sea by mistake and must be saved by Jotaro. However, an enemy Stand appears from the depths to attack Jotaro and the teenager is only saved thanks to Hierophant Green. The group wonder if the little girl Jotaro saved is an enemy, but Jotaro unmask Captain Tennille as an impostor. Jotaro is dragged underwater and Polnareff is stuck witnessing Jotaro's fight against the Impostor Captain Tennille and Dark Blue Moon. Although the enemy is defeated, the Fake Captain has sabotaged the boat and everyone must evacuate. Stranded on a life boat, the group, the stowaway girl and the boat crew soon cross path with a mysterious freighter. The freighter is nearly empty save for an orangutan. The ape reveals itself to be a Stand user whose Stand is the freighter itself, Strength. Polnareff is bound as the boat's every components come to life and attack the group but Jotaro manages to defeat the enemy. The Joestar Group and the stowaway girl are the only survivors. The Joestar Group is finally rescued and reach Singapore. Soon after they arrive, Polnareff has a run-in with a policeman who mistakes his bag for garbage and tries to fine him. Out of sympathy, the group also invites the girl to stay in the hotel until her father supposedly arrives to pick her up. The group check in at a hotel and Polnareff gets a single room. As soon as he arrives he spots bottles laid out on the ground and tells his assailant to come out of the fridge. The new enemy presents himself as Devo the Cursed and summons his Ebony Devil, but Polnareff's Silver Chariot takes a few good stabs at Devo, forcing the enemy Stand user to flee while cursing the Frenchman. At this moment, Ebony Devil's true power activates. Something slashes Polnareff's ankle. Polnareff calls Avdol's room to tell him what has happened and then calls room service for a first aid kit. After he replaces a creepy doll that must have fallen to the ground during the fight, Polnareff notices that he's bandaged himself with a dirty underwear. Polnareff looks for his keys and strangely finds them under the bed. Crawling under it to take the keys, Polnareff hears suspicious noises. Suddenly, his hands are feet are tied to the bed, shampoo is thrown in his eyes and the legs of the bed are sawed off, trapping him. It is revealed that Ebony Devil, fueled by Devo's newfound hatred for Polnareff, has possessed a doll strategically placed in the bed room. Blinded, Polnareff's Silver Chariot cannot fight the doll. The doll bites off a chunk of his neck and in the confusion, Silver Chariot breaks a mirror. The doll doses the underside of the bed in alcohol and prepares to toss a malfunctioning hair dryer into the puddle to electrocute Polnareff to death but Polnareff stabs it in the head, having broken the mirror to see above the bed with the shards. Polnareff shreds the doll, killing Devo the Cursed at the same time. Ironically, an exhausted Polnareff joins with the rest of the group, who chastise him for being late to their discussion about how to defeat Devo. Later, Jotaro learns from Rubber Soul that the man who has murdered Polnareff's sister is near and that his ability involves mirrors. India & PakistanAs the group arrives in Calcutta, Polnareff is one of the most affected by the culture shock. At a restaurant, he notably discovers with horror a pig sticking out of a toilet bowl he was about to use. Soon after, Polnareff is attacked by a Stand coming from the mirror: Hanged Man. He breaks the mirror and informs his companions of the enemy, but decides to leave the group and seek his enemy alone. A dispute ensues with Avdol who advises against remaining alone, but Polnareff calls him a coward and leaves nonetheless. Polnareff asks the locals about a man with two right hands but meets with another enemy instead. Hol Horse, a gun for hire, unveils his gun Stand Emperor and shoots Polnareff. Emperor allows Hol Horse to control the bullets and Polnareff is almost shot in the head, but Avdol suddenly appears to push him out of the trajectory of the bullet. Avdol reprimands Polnareff again but Hanged Man and Hol Horse use a combination attack to kill Avdol with a shot to the head. Polnareff is devastated. Noriaki Kakyoin has arrived to witness Avdol's death. Taunted by Hanged Man, Polnareff attacks without success and Hol Horse shoots another bullet for him. However, Kakyoin saves him and the duo drive away in a truck, followed by Hanged Man. In there, Polnareff apologizes for his behavior and Kakyoin elbows him in the face as a token of his forgiveness. The enemy Stand forces the truck they're driving to crash but Polnareff discovers its secret: Hanged Man is Stand of light that hides onto reflective surfaces, traveling between reflective surfaces at the speed of light. When a boy arrives and asks if the two are alright, and Hanged Man is about to attack from the boy's eye. However, Polnareff has the presence of mind to kick sand in the boy's eyes, forcing them to shut and Hanged Man to travel into his own eye. Moreover, Silver Chariot manages to slash Hanged Man while it traveled in the air, wounding J. Geil. Polnareff and Kakyoin hear a cry of pain and run toward the source, sure to find the enemy. However, J. Geil ambushes them with a decoy and attracts a crowd of beggars, allowing himself several points from which Hanged Man can attack. Kakyoin returns the situation by tossing one coin high while Polnareff kicks sand in the eye of the beggars, forcing Hanged Man to jump toward the coin. Silver Chariot slashes it a second time and J. Geil is defeated. As revenge, Polnareff stabs him multiple time and sends him flying into a fence, leaving him hanging upside down. Polnareff and Kakyoin are soon confronted by Hol Horse and they inform him that J. Geil has died. The gunman quickly understands that he must run and although Jotaro and Joseph arrive, a young girl named Nena who is in love with Hol Horse tackles Joseph and allows Hol Horse to flee. The group travels up to Varanasi with Nena tagging along. In reality, Nena is also an enemy Stand user. While Joseph is attacked by Empress, Polnareff is kept distracted by Nena who fakes falling in love with him. When Joseph finally defeats Empress, Nena reveals her true form as an ugly woman who was wearing a young girl's skin, shocking Polnareff. The Joestar Group flees Varanasi and make its way toward Pakistan on a car. On the road, they pick up the same runaway girl who was with them at sea. Soon, the group crosses path with another car with an unseen and aggressive driver. Because of it, they almost crash into a truck, only for Star Platinum to throw the car above it. The group decides to follow the enemy. In a roadside cafe name Cafe Marhaba, the group sees that the enemy car is parked nearby. Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff decide to rough up the clients to discover the enemy, but they have already left with the car. The group is lured toward a cliff with the enemy car appearing from behind and pushing the heroes to their death. Polnareff notably tells the group to leave the car but releases the brakes, allowing their car to be pushed down. Thankfully, Jotaro and Kakyoin combine their abilities to save the group. However, it is revealed that the car is the Stand Wheel of Fortune, which comes back from the bottom of the cliff to attack. Wheel of Fortune uses an invisible attack that wounds Jotaro and the group decides to retreat further up. It is revealed that the car is shooting drops of gas at high pressure the driver lights the gas, setting Jotaro on fire. However, Jotaro digs a tunnel to fake his death and flanks the car. He swiftly defeats the enemy Stand user. The heroes leave ZZ, the driver, tied up. After leaving the runaway girl on a plane back to Hong Kong, the group travels to Pakistan. They enter a foggy village, in which Polnareff, along with his companions, are unnerved by the strange inhabitants. They decide to rest there for the night and an amiable old woman invites them to her hotel. The woman is in reality Enya the Hag, one of DIO's followers. While the group rests in their room, Polnareff goes to the hall and almost surprises Enya trying to kill Hol Horse. Polnareff starts a conversation with Enya and soon infuriates her as he keeps mentioning her family, unaware that he just killed her son J. Geil. When Hol Horse crawls out from under a couch and warns Polnareff, Enya reveals her true color and also the army of zombies she's gathered from the inhabitants. Terrified, Polnareff runs to safety and locks himself in the bathrooms, expecting the horde of zombies to eventually attack him. Polnareff cannot resist peeking through the keyhole and at this moment, a zombie's tongue lashes out of the hole and wounds his tongue. He's thus controlled by Justice through his tongue. As a first spiteful humiliation, Enya forces Polnareff to clean the bathroom with his tongue. Thankfully, Jotaro arrives and defeats Enya in short order. Hol Horse flees again and Enya is taken prisoner. In Karachi, Steely Dan confronts the group and assassinates Enya. Worse, he sends his Lovers inside of Joseph's brain with some of DIO's cells to make them grow. While Jotaro is forced to stay with Steely Dan, Polnareff, Kakyoin and Joseph retreat. Joseph uses Hermit Purple on a TV set to look inside his brain. Thanks to that, Polnareff and Kakyoin can guide their Silver Chariot and Hierophant Green inside Joseph to reach Lovers. Silver Chariot is technically stronger than Lovers but the enemy Stand uses the cells in the brain to create duplicates of himself. Thankfully, Hierophant Green deploys its tentacles to secretly check every fake and wounds the real Lovers, driving it away. It is Jotaro who finishes off Lovers and defeats Steely Dan. Arabia & the Red SeaThe Joestar Group reaches Abu Dhabi. Joseph decides to buy camels to cross the desert toward the village of Yabrin, but as they cross the desert, the group notices that the Sun is still up. It reveals itself as a powerful enemy Stand that bombards the heroes with lasers and they must hide under a rock with the scorching heat getting at them. Polnareff is the third to notice the enemy's hiding spot laughs alongside Kakyoin and Jotaro. Jotaro has Star Platinum throw a rock at the enemy and Sun is defeated. In Yabrin, Kakyoin is attacked by Death Thirteen in his sleep but Polnareff fortunately wakes him before he dies. Kakyoin has forgotten his dream but is clearly nervous. Meanwhile, Joseph has bought a Cessna and accepts to have a sick baby tag along with the group to be delivered to a hospital. In reality, the baby is Mannish Boy, Death Thirteen's user who plans to kill the group in their sleep. Polnareff and Kakyoin sleep again and find themselves in Death Thirteen's nightmare world. In here, Polnareff also learns about the Stand and is almost killed but is woken up to change the baby's diapers. Kakyoin is stuck in the nightmare but struggles so much he disturbs Joseph and causes a crash. The group has to make camp for the night while rescue arrives. Kakyoin is still affected by his nightmares and suspects that the baby is the enemy. However, Mannish Boy manages to hide his true nature and the group thinks that Kakyoin is having a nervous breakdown. When Kakyoin summons Hierophant Green to attack the baby, Polnareff knocks him out. The whole group falls asleep and is victimized by Death Thirteen. However, Kakyoin reappears with his Stand, as being rendered unconscious with one's Stand out allows one to keep them while dreaming. Kakyoin defeats Death Thirteen and the whole group is saved. The group reaches the Red Sea but they first stop by an island where Muhammad Avdol's father lives. Painfully reminded of Avdol's death, Polnareff walks alone on the beach and finds an oil lamp. He rubs it and discovers "Cameo" a genie who will grant him three wishes. Skeptical, Polnareff tells Cameo to make him rich and the Frenchman suddenly discovers a treasure. He is won over and hurriedly tells Cameo to bring back his sister Sherry. The wish turns against him as Sherry reveals herself as a flesh eating zombie. Moreover, Cameo reveals itself as Judgement and also "grants" Polnareff's wish of bringing back Avdol. The two keep attacking Polnareff who cannot bring himself to hurt them. Suddenly, a second Avdol appears, summons Magician's Red, and defeats the zombie. Avdol reveals that Emperor's bullet merely grazed his skull and that he faked his death in Calcutta to recover in tranquility. Avdol easily defeats Judgement then the pair discover Cameo's hiding spot. They humiliate him and then quickly defeat him. Polnareff happily presents Avdol to the Joestar Group and is dismayed to learn that everyone already knew about his survival and kept Polnareff out of the secret for fear that he'd inadvertently reveal it. Avdol also reveals a submarine he's bought which will allow the group to reach Egypt undetected. However, in the middle of the underwater journey, the group is attacked by High Priestess. The enemy Stand is extremely nimble and deadly, and it sabotages the submarine, forcing the heroes to evacuate their vessel. High Priestess disguises itself as a regulator and enters Polnareff's mouth but thankfully, Hierophant Green and Hermit Purple pull it out of the Frenchman. The group successfully exits the submarine but High Priestess fuses with the seabed and turns into a giant head that swallows the heroes. Thankfully, Jotaro smashes High Priestess' rock teeth, taking out the user. When the group reaches the surface, Polnareff goes to check on the enemy user but sees her ravaged face and tells the group to not bother. The heroes have reached Egypt. Arrival to Egypt (1989)The Nile River, EgyptThe group meets with a helicopter envoy from the Speedwagon Foundation. The crew delivers some supplies but more importantly, bring Iggy, a dog Stand user. The dog jumps on Polnareff's head, tear his hair, and then farts on his face. Enraged, Polnareff sends out Silver Chariot but Iggy also summons his sand Stand, The Fool. The Fool is made of sand and easily neutralizes Silver Chariot. Unbeknownst to them, the group is targeted by N'Doul, another one of DIO's henchmen. The group finds the Speedwagon helicopter crashed in the desert. Soon N'Doul attacks the heroes with his remote controlled water Stand, Geb. Crouched together, Kakyoin tells Polnareff to attack the canteen from which Geb came out, which offends Polnareff since Kakyoin could do the attacking himself. Geb then suddenly comes from the sand and slashes Kakyoin's eyes. Polnareff is targeted as well, but thankfully, one of the dead pilots' wristwatch rings, distracting Geb which attacks the watch. Carrying his friend Kakyoin, Polnareff is pursued by the enemy Stand which slashes his leg. However, Joseph manages to catch him and Kakyoin with Hermit Purple. Helpless against Geb, Polnareff lets Jotaro and Iggy defeat N'Doul. In Aswan, Polnareff plays a large role during Oingo and Boingo's attempt on the group's lives. He fatefully chooses the café in which he, Joseph and Jotaro will sit while Kakyoin and Avdol are treated by tossing his cigarette on the ground and choose wherever the cigarette points. Polnareff then unintentionally helps Oingo and Boingo as his cigarette starts a fire near another café, dissuading the suspicious group from leaving. While Polnareff, Joseph and Jotaro end up sipping poisoned tea, Iggy causes a scene, making the trio spit everything out and run after him. Later, Jotaro splits from the group. Joseph and Polnareff surprise Oingo trying to break into their car but Oingo disguises himself as Jotaro, fooling the pair. Polnareff forces Oingo into the car and go to the hospital, cornering Oingo with Jotaro's face and a nearby bomb in an orange peel threatening to explode. On their way to the hospital, Polnareff keeps prying "Jotaro" about his new clothes and unusual behavior, and Oingo ultimately manages to escape the car. Polnareff performs a trick when he manages to flip a lit cigarette into his mouth and then tells "Jotaro" to repeat his cigarette trick with five cigarettes. Ultimately, Oingo finds an excuse to get out of the car and runs toward a rock to change back. Polnareff then tosses the bomb out of the car, having been persuaded that it wasn't edible by Oingo. The bomb then lands near Oingo and explodes, taking out the assassin. The Joestar Group go up the Nile via boat, unaware that the sword Stand Anubis prepares its attack and possesses an innocent farmer named Chaka. The group stops at the temple of Kom Ombo. Polnareff is accosted by a local who tries to sell him a papyrus but Polnareff tears it apart, aware that papyrus is a stronger material. Polnareff is separated from the group and walks toward the temple of Kom Ombo, followed by Chaka. In the temple itself, the two formally present themselves and begin to fight. The Anubis sword can shift through matter and injures Polnareff, forcing Polnareff to retreat a bit. Chaka hides momentarily only to make a pillar fall on Polnareff while he's perched behind it, ready to strike. Polnareff uses his secret technique: he can shoot Silver Chariot's sword blade from its handle and manages to hit Chaka in the neck, defeating him. Polnareff decides to take the sword and is almost possessed, but the group calls him out, breaking the spell for the time being. In Edfu, Polnareff and Jotaro go to a barber's shop. The barber, Khan, is also possessed while Polnareff gets ready to be shaved. Polnareff fights him again but discovers with horror that the sword gets stronger and faster the more it fights someone and that it knows how to counter his secret technique. Jotaro must intervene and defeats Chaka with difficulty. Polnareff tries to sheathe the sword but a policeman tries to confiscate it and Polnareff accidentally grabs the sword and is fully possessed by Anubis. Combining Silver Chariot with Anubis, Polnareff easily gets the better of Star Platinum but Jotaro has baited Anubis into stabbing his stomach. Anubis is immobilized and Jotaro reduces the sword to pieces. One of the bigger shards attempts a last assassination by possessing a nearby child but Iggy accidentally makes the boy trip, sending the sword into the Nile. In Luxor, while Joseph and Avdol are attacked and isolated by Mariah, Polnareff and Jotaro decide to go look for them. The pair is followed by Alessi, another one of DIO's assassins. Polnareff sees Alessi and confronts him alone, testing whether he's a Stand user or not. Alessi sends his shadow Stand, Sethan, towards Polnareff who briefly touches it, but then the assassin runs away. Polnareff pursues Alessi but soon notices that he's de-aged into a small boy whom even Jotaro doesn't recognize. Alessi corners Polnareff in an alley but thankfully he was born as a Stand user and thus had Silver Chariot as a child already. Silver Chariot is overpowered by Sethan but the latter breaks Chariot's rapier and accidentally sends the blade into Alessi's shoulder, driving him away. Polnareff then meets a kind woman who mistakes him for a lost child and takes him to her home. Polnareff and the woman go into the bathroom to get cleaned but Alessi reappears and makes the woman disappear. Alessi almost drowns Polnareff but the small boy kicks his feces into Alessi's face, making him drop Polnareff in disgust. Polnareff discovers with horror that the woman has been turned into a fetus that will die soon and Alessi comes forward to attack again. The boy takes the fetus and runs away, cornering himself in a small closet. Polnareff cannot escape but engineers his own hiding spot by hiding his head inside a balloon and his body behind a mirror plunged in an aquarium. When Alessi breaks in, Polnareff ambushes him and stabs his nose, making the assassin run and jump down a window; causing Alessi to meet Jotaro. Jotaro is unaware of Alessi's true nature and despite Polnareff's warnings, is de-aged as well. However, Jotaro pummels Alessi with his own hands. Sethan's power is cancelled, Polnareff and Jotaro are free to summon their respective Stands at full power to finish off Alessi. Afterwards, Polnareff crosses path with the woman again. She senses some familiarity with Polnareff but the Frenchman reluctantly denies knowing her to prevent her from becoming a target. Guessing the situation, Jotaro takes the time to comfort Polnareff. Cairo, EgyptThe Joestar Group arrives in Cairo and begins the search for DIO's Mansion. In a cafe of Cairo's outskirts, the group meets a peculiar card sharp man named Daniel J. D'Arby who claims to know about the mansion and asks the group to bet and win it. Frustrated by D'Arby, Polnareff angrily accepts to bet on which of two pieces of dried fish a nearby cat will catch first. Just before the cat sees the fish, D'Arby asks Polnareff to bet his soul and the Frenchman accepts, thinking D'Arby to be mad. Polnareff bets on the bigger piece of fish but he loses. At that moment, D'Arby's Stand, Osiris, appears to steal Polnareff's soul and effectively kills him. Polnareff stays dead until Jotaro manages to defeat D'Arby. In the streets of Cairo, Polnareff senses someone trailing the group and confronts the enemy alone. He discovers Hol Horse and quickly dominates him then asks the gunman where is his partner, as Hol Horse wouldn't dare to fight the group alone. Polnareff notices Boingo's presence but is distracted, allowing Hol Horse to put his fingers in Polnareff's nose, confusing the gunman. Unfortunately for Hol Horse, the rest of the heroes come back toward Polnareff. Hol Horse hides in a corner behind Polnareff and forces him to act as if nothing's wrong. Polnareff tries to signal the enemy with his tongue, unsuccessfully. Hol Horse discovers the ploy and almost kills Polnareff but the Frenchman sneezes, his nose having been irritated by Hol Horse earlier. Hol Horse is discovered and surrounded but a truck fortunately crashes into the group, taking most of them out. Hol Horse and Boingo hide again and see that Tohth predicts that Jotaro's face will be riddled with bullet at noon. Hol Horse hurriedly shoots into a network of pipes to shoot Jotaro from an unexpected angle, but as Jotaro tries to help Polnareff, the latter sneezes again. Jotaro backs away in disgust and evades the bullets, confusing Hol Horse. At the end, Hol Horse receives his own bullets in the face and is taken out while Iggy angrily defeats Boingo after the boy accidentally kicks a crate into him. In the streets of Cairo, Polnareff clashes with a beggar because he is unknowingly taking his spot. Avdol intervenes on the beggar's behalf and explains how the beggar community is organized. The group decides to ask the beggar to find DIO's Mansion and the latter accepts. Humorously, the beggar reveals he's wearing a suit and has a luxurious car. While the group awaits, Iggy is fighting Pet Shop, the falcon guardian of the mansion. After Iggy defeats Pet Shop and is saved, the Joestar Group reunites with the dog and Kakyoin. Iggy leads the group directly to DIO's Mansion and they begin their assault on the place. However, they are nearly immediately greeted by Telence T. D'Arby, the butler of the mansion and Daniel J. D'Arby's little brother. D'Arby reveals his Stand, Atum, and demonstrates his prowess by predicting and evading one of Jotaro's attacks. D'Arby then forcibly drags Jotaro, Joseph and Kakyoin into a hole that then disappears, splitting the group in two. Battle in DIO's MansionPolnareff, Avdol and Iggy wait a few minutes before deciding to enter the mansion. Discovering an impossible labyrinth, Avdol deploys a fire radar to detect a hidden enemy and Iggy swiftly defeats him. The illusion is dispelled, but then Vanilla Ice, one of DIO's most devout followers, ambushes the group. His Stand, Cream, can devour and send anything into a void dimension. Plus, Vanilla Ice can hide inside Cream's mouth and Cream can swallow itself to become an invisible void sphere, making the enemy nearly invincible. Vanilla Ice kills Avdol, who shoves his allies aside, and continues his assault. Polnareff and Iggy are forced to retreat but are determined to fight, and thus run up to the first floor. Polnareff and Iggy try to trick Vanilla Ice with a DIO made of sand but he sees through the ploy and mortally wounds Iggy. Polnareff retaliates and Vanilla Ice hides in Cream's mouth again, but the Frenchman has the idea of scattering sand around the room to see the foe's position. He manages to ambush Ice and drives Silver Chariot's rapier in his mouth. However, Vanilla Ice refuses to die and threatens to break Silver Chariot's arm. Polnareff must push Ice away and is gravely crippled in the counterattack. He sends Silver Chariot to bring Iggy back to him, but he then notices that Ice is circling around him, shrinking the circle and slowly converging on Polnareff's position. Despite his best efforts, Polnareff is unable to avoid the incoming void sphere and says his goodbye to Iggy. However, Polnareff is actually saved by Iggy, who uses the last of his strength to lift Polnareff to the ceiling with The Fool. Iggy dies but gives Polnareff the opening to fatally wound Vanilla Ice. Ice stands back up but Polnareff has guessed that he's become a Vampire and thus exposes him to the sun to finish him off. Polnareff then briefly sees the spirit of Avdol and Iggy saluting him one last time before ascending to the heavens. The Final Battle, DIO's WorldOn the staircase leading up to the third floor, DIO confronts Polnareff. DIO tries to persuade Polnareff to join his side but Polnareff refuses. As he goes up the stairs to fight DIO, Polnareff suddenly finds himself at the bottom to which an amused DIO suggests that he subconsciously stepped back in fear. Nervous, Polnareff realizes that he's experiencing a glimpse of DIO's power and summons Silver Chariot to attack. In turn, DIO summons his Stand, The World. However, the clash is interrupted as the Joestar Group appears after destroying a wall, letting the sunlight in and making DIO retreat to the shadows. Polnareff uses the respite to explain what he's experienced to the group. The group then follows Nukesaku up to the top of one of the tower in an empty chamber with a coffin at its center. The heroes force Nukesaku to open the coffin to attack but the Vampire suddenly finds himself in the same coffin, shredded to pieces. Sensing an incoming attack, the group jumps out of the window. As the sun sets, Polnareff disagrees with Joseph's decision to flee DIO until dawn as he wants to avenge Avdol and Iggy. While he leaves alone, Jotaro soon joins him. Polnareff and Jotaro hijack a motorcycle and follow DIO as the Vampire pursues Joseph and Kakyoin. Jotaro and Polnareff split and the Frenchman lies in ambush. Jotaro and DIO fight, but Jotaro finds himself on the ground, gravely injured and trying play dead. As DIO approaches Jotaro to finish him off, Polnareff jumps down from one of the roofs and Silver Chariot stabs DIO in the head. Unfortunately, the blow lacks the force and precision to hit the brain stem and DIO stops time. DIO then punches Polnareff into a wall and almost finishes him off, forcing Jotaro to nearly ruin his cover in order to save Polnareff. After DIO is killed, Polnareff parts with Jotaro and Joseph, refusing Joseph's offer to go to the US and instead going back to his motherland, France. The trio hugs a last time, exchanging banters until they go on their separate ways without looking back. Vento Aureo (2001)Before the events of Vento Aureo, Jotaro and Polnareff learned of the Arrows and began to investigate them. Polnareff eventually went on his own in Italy but his investigations caught the attention of Diavolo. Polnareff eventually learned about Diavolo but the Boss confronted him and easily defeated him thanks to King Crimson's ability. He was tossed off a cliff and sustained critical injuries, including the loss of one of his eyes and the use of his lower legs. Although he survived, Polnareff was crippled and had no way of contacting his allies, due to Passione controlling communications in Italy. Hiding in a local farmhouse afterward, one day Polnareff dropped the Arrow into a small crack. When he uses Silver Chariot to attempt to retrieve it, he learns firsthand of a power that surpasses Stands when the Stand touched the Arrow: everything in a large radius around him began to fall asleep. Before he could lose control of Chariot Requiem, Polnareff steals the Arrow from it and reverts it back to its original form. Pronto! On the PhoneWhile watching over police databases, Polnareff notices Team Bucciarati's efforts to discover who Diavolo is. He immediately contacts them and manages to convince them that he's an ally. Telling them to go to Rome and meet at the Colosseum, Polnareff takes the time to explain the origin of the Bow and Arrow and presents them their true potential, holding the exact nature of this potential secret until they meet. Polnareff hides in the Colosseum and awaits Bucciarati's team. Polnareff is present in Rome while Team Bucciarati fight Cioccolata and Secco. Polnareff is shown to observe the fight between Bucciarati and Secco, pondering on the irony of these misfits trying to save the world from Diavolo. A Little Story From the PastAfter Bruno Bucciarati defeats Secco, his bizarre condition allows Doppio to pass off as Trish and the two enter the Colosseum unnoticed by the rest of the group. Polnareff calls out the pair from the second floor and wants to check whether they are trustworthy, cornering Doppio when he asks to see "Trish's" Stand. Diavolo acts. His Name Is DiavoloPolnareff notices that time has skipped and realizes that Diavolo is nearby. The Boss of Passione confronts his foe. Despite having devised a way to detect King Crimson's power by biting his finger and observe the blood drops, Diavolo is careful enough to avoid Polnareff's counterattack. As a last resort, Polnareff stabs Silver Chariot with the Arrow, hoping that it will be kept safe from Diavolo. What Lies Beyond the ArrowDiavolo punches through Polnareff's chest and the Frenchman dies, reminiscing his adventure in Egypt. Meanwhile, Chariot Requiem fully manifests itself and puts everyone in Rome to sleep. The Requiem Quietly PlaysThanks to Chariot Requiem's ability to switch souls, Polnareff's soul is transported in Coco Jumbo's body. He contacts Team Bucciarati and explains them everything about the Arrow and Requiem Stands. He also warns them about Diavolo working with someone else. However, it is only when Narancia Ghirga dies that he realizes that Diavolo may have a split personality disorder, meaning that the Boss shares his body with another soul. Accompanying the group, Polnareff tries to grab the Arrow from a dismembered Chariot Requiem, hoping that his Stand-less state will allow him to touch it. Instead, Chariot Requiem begins to chase Polnareff in order to touch him. Although the Stand leave him be, Polnareff discovers that his body is morphing into a monster. When Giorno claims that Diavolo may be possessing someone in the group, Polnareff agrees with the theory and tells Giorno how to make himself bleed to watch the dripping blood and detect whenever time is skipped. Note: Credit to the JoJo's Bizarre Encyclopedia. BackgroundA pure breed with a certificate, Iggy was originally bought by a rich man when he was a puppy. As he grew older, he began to believe humans are stupid and decided to leave home. He was eventually found by Muhammad Avdol in the street slums of New York acting as the king of the stray dogs. Only Avdol was able to come close to him, as ordinary dog catchers were attacked by his Stand. Stardust CrusadersThe Nile River, EgyptIggy came to the scene aboard a Speedwagon-sponsored helicopter in the middle of the Egyptian desert, brought by the Speedwagon Foundation to help in the battle against DIO. Polnareff, being cocky and intrigued about their new partner, becomes the target of the ferocity that Iggy is infamous for, after disturbing his slumber. The pilots and Avdol were only able to control him because of one unlikely treat: coffee-flavored chewing gum. Because of how he attacked Polnareff, everyone, especially Jotaro, had doubts about the suitability of Iggy's companionship. Iggy also didn't want to take part in a battle that had nothing to do with him. Their questioning grew deeper when they were attacked by N'Doul in the middle of the desert. Iggy ran from the battle, showing his cowardice and lack of intention to help. They misinterpreted Iggy's pursuit of N'Doul's trail for cowardice. Jotaro grasps Iggy in his hand, forcing Iggy to cooperate before N'Doul's Geb attacked them both. Left with no choice, Iggy took Jotaro to the enemy, but in the middle of their pursuit, Iggy decided to leave Jotaro behind to be killed alone. Jotaro then threw Iggy at N'Doul, distracting the enemy enough and leading him to his eventual defeat. Jotaro ends up forgiving Iggy, saying he, too, wouldn't like to be dragged in a war he had nothing to do with himself. Iggy decided to accompany the group and earn their trust, even though Polnareff still believed he would run away in the end. Going Up the NileIggy doesn't do much during their journey but unintentionally helps the group several times. In Aswan, he saved them from drinking Oingo's poisoned tea and makes his plan to blow up Jotaro with a bomb hidden in an orange peel backfire, as he picks up the bomb and brings it to Oingo (disguised as Jotaro). When Oingo tries to leave the scene, Polnareff threw the bomb after him because Iggy put his mouth on it. In Edfu, Iggy accidentally saves Jotaro from Anubis' last assassination attempt. When Anubis possesses a young boy, Iggy makes the boy trip as he grabs the boy's candy, making Anubis fall into the Nile. In Cairo, Iggy also defeats Boingo without even knowing he was an enemy Stand user. After Hol Horse was hospitalized by another backfired plan, Boingo kicks a crate and accidentally hits Iggy, which makes the dog furious enough to attack Boingo. Cairo, EgyptWhile the Joestar Group looks for DIO's Mansion, Iggy wanders in the streets of Cairo and fatefully comes across the building itself. When two dogs come snarling, Iggy intimidates them and the dogs decide to go for a weaker prey. Spotting the shadow of a bird from under a door, the dogs crawl inside the property, only for Iggy to see their heads flying, impaled on an ice spike while their bodies are forcibly dragged inside. A falcon then appears, watching Iggy suspiciously. However, the falcon then spots the beggar and creates an icicle large enough to crush the beggar. As the falcon flies around, Iggy realizes it is a Stand user protecting the mansion and that it may come for him next. Indeed, the falcon Pet Shop is the wielder of the Stand Horus. Pet Shop sets his attention again on Iggy, who tries to play dumb as he doesn't want to get involved in the disputes of humans he doesn't care about. However, a young boy comes looking for his dogs. Seeing his dogs' collars, the boy tries to crawl under the gate of the mansion too and gets attacked by Pet Shop too. However, Iggy comes to the rescue, not having the heart to let a dog-loving kid be killed. After helping the kid escape, Iggy confronts Pet Shop but is taken by surprise when Pet Shop freezes the ground and shoots icicles at him. Iggy is forced to flee but the eagle-eyed falcon easily spots him and pursues him down to a sewer. However, when Pet Shop shoots Iggy, it turns out Iggy was a clone made of sand. Iggy comes out of the shadows and has The Fool claw at the bird. Satisfied, Iggy calls it a draw, but the injured, Pet Shop decides to deploy the full strength of his Horus, turning the whole sewer into an icy world. In the humid environment, Iggy finds himself at a huge disadvantage. When Iggy's paw is frozen in place, the dog must bite off a paw to escape into the Nile. At the bottom of the Nile, Iggy takes refuge under a protective dome of sand. However, Pet Shop can swim. He finds the dome and threatens to shoot the dog with icicles. The Fool manages to deflect an icicle toward Pet Shop, but the bird then tries to crush the dome beneath a mass of ice. The dog digs to escape but he then stumbles another tunnel where Pet Shop await, charging an icicle to kill him at close range. In a desperate act, Iggy lets the dome behind him collapse and makes the surge of pressure push him forward. That way, he clamps Pet Shop's beak shut and the icicle makes Pet Shop's bird explode. Exhausted from a lack of blood and coming close to drowning, Iggy reminisces his life as the king of the stray dogs in New York. Thankfully, he is ultimately rescued by the boy he protected earlier. Iggy is subsequently found by a fully recovered Kakyoin, who reunites with the group after having a Speedwagon Foundation doctor treat Iggy's injuries. After a short but cheerful reunion, Iggy decides to lead them to DIO's Mansion, where Telence T. D'Arby welcomes them and abducts Jotaro, Joseph and Kakyoin. Battle in DIO's MansionAfter waiting for ten minutes, Avdol, Polnareff and Iggy decide to enter the mansion. Iggy and Avdol team up in the illusory maze created by Tenore Sax inside the mansion to track down and rapidly defeat Kenny G. However, the group is ambushed by Vanilla Ice, one of DIO's last servants. Avdol shoves his companions aside but is killed. Vanilla Ice has disintegrated Avdol, forcing him into Cream's mouth, and is now targeting Polnareff and Iggy. Cream becomes an invincible and invisible ball of destruction that's flying after them and they must flee. Iggy and Polnareff arrive at the art gallery but see the gaping hole on the floor, meaning Vanilla Ice is there. Although they cover each other's back, Polnareff is ambushed from below and Vanilla Ice takes his left foot. Iggy and Polnareff then devise a plan to trick Vanilla Ice. Iggy and Polnareff hide in the stairs and Iggy creates a "DIO" made of sand to fool Vanilla Ice. Unfortunately, Vanilla Ice sees through the trick as the real DIO wouldn't have come to a place where the sun's rays are still visible. Vanilla Ice singles out Iggy and proceeds to violently beat him up for making him strike at DIO's image. Polnareff continues the fight and manages to inflict a mortal wound, but it seems that Vanilla Ice refuses to die. Polnareff then brings Iggy close to him. Cream begins to make circles around Polnareff, aiming to eventually reach and disintegrate him. Polnareff puts Iggy in a safe spot but fails to escape. A dying Iggy summons The Fool to help Polnareff but the Frenchman tells him to stay safe instead. The Polnareff salutes the dog as Cream approaches, but Iggy spends the last of his strength to lift Polnareff with The Fool, allowing Polnareff to ambush Vanilla Ice. Iggy dies but Polnareff is able to expose Vanilla Ice to the sunlight and kill him, because he had become a Vampire. After Ice's defeat, the souls of Iggy and Avdol are seen floating in the golden sky. Sharing one last glance at Polnareff, the two fallen crusaders ascend into the afterlife. |
