Background
Alia (エイリア) is a character of the Mega Man X series. She is a Reploid that works as an Operator, Navigator, and Computer Specialist of the Maverick Hunters and, like Douglas and Signas, first appeared in Mega Man X5. She briefs X, Zero, Axl and other Hunters about their missions and guides them through the areas, giving information about the objectives, recent developments, and spotted Mavericks. She also manages the transfer actions at Hunter Base. In Mega Man X8, she can be unlocked as a secret playable character, like her two Navigator comrades, Layer and Pallette, imitating the style and moves of X, though she is limited by the fact that she cannot use Armor Parts. Before working for the Hunters, Alia was part of a team of Reploid Research scientists and was close to her colleague, Gate.
Appearance
Alia is a female Reploid, possessing a slender and feminine design. Her armor is primarily red with pink and white accents along the edges. She has green lens crystals on her wrists and chest, and has an exposed head of blonde hair with a transceiver headset over both ears. In her first appearances she wore her hair in some sort of small bun behind her head, though she has since been seen wearing her hair down over her shoulders in the past with Gate and later in Mega Man X8. She is also capable of forming a buster on her arms, which has a design similar to X's X-Buster.
Personality
Alia is a very dutiful character. She tries to set her personal feelings and concerns aside (especially during the Nightmare Incident) to carry out her work for the sake of everyone. She cares deeply for the members of her team and does her best to guide them through their missions without them being harmed. Alia rarely shows any weaknesses, but the Nightmare Incident revealed a deeper, more emotional part of her personality, where she blames herself for Gate's reasons for becoming a Maverick and trying to wipe out all low-level Reploids to create a new nation under his ideal. Due to her past emotional confrontations and her scientific nature, Alia is a realist, claiming she does not believe in "miracles."
As a former Researcher, Alia is highly intelligent, possessing both advanced engineering and analytical skills. She is able to compile and construct new Armors when in possession of the necessary data provided by Dr. Light's holograms, and has even managed to reconstruct damaged Armors, although to date none of her reconstructions have ever been 100% complete. She has allegedly mastered every programming language.
This dropdown contains the synopsis of Alia’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise! |

HistoryResearcher daysBefore joining the Maverick Hunter forces, Alia used to work at a research lab analyzing the potential of Reploid engineering. She also used to have longer hair during that time (which she restored to its original length in Mega Man X8). One of her colleagues was Gate. Gate, who was obsessed with the unanalyzable DNA of X and Zero, devoted all his time and power into creating Reploids with DNA that had similar attributes. Eventually, he succeeded and was praised immensely, but unfortunately this also created jealousy and contempt between him and his colleagues. Though she regretted it afterwards, Alia was drawn into the conspiracy of the other researchers sabotaging Gate's creations, either by trapping and destroying them during their missions or having them declared Maverick for dubious reasons. She was directly involved in the destruction of Blizzard Wolfang and Gate's business acquaintance Ground Scaravich; but was forced to do so in both cases much to her chagrin. After Gate left full of hatred and bitterness, she decided to start all over again herself, becoming a member of the Maverick Hunters. Mega Man X5Alia made her debut in the X series as X and Zero's navigator. While she played no crucial role in the plot aside from aiding in level navigation, she does talk a bit in the ending where Zero went Maverick and X's memories of him were erased, commented on her doubts of X's return as a miracle and believing something to be behind it. Mega Man X6Alia's character was greatly expanded in Mega Man X6. Gate, her former colleague, obtained a piece of Zero's remains and had analyzed it, creating the Nightmare Virus, as well as the Reploid High-Max and the Zero Nightmare, a purple copy of Zero which was blamed by Gate as the source of the Nightmare, and started a made-up campaign against Zero to become a new hero for the people and Reploids. While X (and the later recovered, original Zero) investigated the areas and defeated the Nightmare Investigators, Reploids resurrected by Gate to analyze the Nightmare, Alia revealed to the Hunters that she used to work together with Gate in a Research Team and was part of a conspiracy to sabotage his Reploids, which had now been revived by the Nightmare Virus. Blaming herself for Gate's bitterness, she tried to convince him to surrender and stop his plans of creating a new nation for only top-level Reploids before he ended up himself being killed. Although she tried her best, Gate didn't listen and fought X and Zero, ending up being defeated by them and damaged beyond repair by a revived Sigma. She was given a choice by X who had dragged Gate's remains out of his destroyed lab whether to try to repair him or not. What exactly became of Gate afterwards was never revealed. Mega Man X7Alia also assisted during the events of Red Alert by adding in stage navigation like before. She did not have a major impact on the plot like before, but she did show up in all three endings. She contacted Zero in his ending to wake him up and appeared in X and Axl's endings to discuss Axl's progress. Mega Man X8Like all other characters, Alia experienced a major design change in Mega Man X8. Like the others, Alia's appearance was thinned, removing all her bulkier body armor parts and exchanging them for some more slender ones. Apparently, she also decided to let her hair down again, like it used to be during her days as a researcher. In the game's plot, Alia did her usual work supporting the Hunters with information about the stage layout, the upcoming bosses and eventually about Reploids which had a DNA core suitable enough for Axl to transform. She also analyzed the New Generation Reploids' source of viral immunity - their Copy Chip - and also revealed that the DNA of the New Generation Reploids resembled that of Sigma. She also located Sigma's base on the moon. Her final appearance in the game, although off-screen, was her call for X and the others after they had taken out Lumine. As a hidden goodie, Alia can be unlocked as a playable character after completing the game once, using Alia as the player's Navigator at least two times more than Layer or Pallette or by entering a secret code at the title screen for the PS2 version or the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 version and then bought at the store. An Alia sound clip can be heard when entering the code correctly. Alia's movesets and abilities were modeled after those of X, being able to charge her Buster for more powerful attacks and receiving the same Special Weapons from defeated Mavericks as X can. However, as she is limited to the same abilities X has without any special armor equipped, she was unable to use any armor-based abilities, most notably the ability to charge up the gained weapons or being able to reduce the amount of damage received. Also, like with all other characters, her stats and abilities could be upgraded by finding Rare Metals and researching them. Though copying X's style, Alia, like the other two Navigators, received no pre-boss battle dialogue with the Mavericks when selected as part of the team. |
General Information
Name: Alia
Origin: Mega Man X5
Sex: Female
Age: Unknown, at least an adult
Classification: Engineer
Species: Reploid
Occupation: Reploid Researcher (Formerly), Navigator, Maverick Hunter
Status: Destroyed (Despite never stating Alia has been destroyed, she never appears in Mega Man Z, and it's unlikely her body is still intact by Mega Man Legends)
Alignment: Lawful Good (As a part of the Maverick Hunters, Alia follows their command in assisting them to destroy the Mavericks whenever they start to cause chaos. This is to protect both humans and Reploid lives. She still cared for Gate, despite becoming corrupted with power)
Codex Statistics
Tier: 5-B
Cardinality: Finite
Dimensionality: 3-D
Attack Potency: Planet level (Potency) (Fought and defeated Optic Sunflower, who used the data of the Final Weapon to perform his Earth Crush attack. Zero after gaining Optic Sunflower's weapon data can also use this attack with his Tenshouha technique. The Final Weapon was stated to be able to destroy the Earth and was going to be used by Sigma to do so. The data of things in Mega Man are portrayed as equal to their real world counterparts as shown consistently throughout the series multiple[1] times[2]. Optic Sunflower is also stated and shown to have control over data within cyberspace, being the root cause of the programs going haywire upon becoming Maverick. He also can download any data stored such as Cut Man's which was used to fight the Maverick Hunters. The Final Weapon's data should be stored as Mega Man Xtreme shows that the past data of entire stages is stored within cyberspaces. Comparable to Mega Man X who can fight and defeat emulated data[3][4] of himself and Awakened Zero fighting together at once. Comparable to Mega Man X who scales far above Mega Man and his era to the degree of Dr. Light putting a warning, him sealing X for 30 years, and him directly stating that no force on Earth would be able to stop him. Dr. Light even described the danger of X of being far beyond any of Dr. Wily's Incidents.[5] This would put him easily above Mega Man with his Double Gears and other Classic Era robots such as Duo whose fight with Evil Robot caused an explosion around Jupiter which was at this level)
Durability: Planet level (Can take hits from Optic Sunflower's Earth Crush, which uses the data of the Final Weapon from Mega Man X4, in which the Final Weapon was stated to be able to destroy the Earth and was going to be used by Sigma to do so. Survived hits from Lumine and Sigma)
Striking Strength: Planet Class (Potency)
Lifting Strength: At Least Class G (Should scale far above the degree of Mega Man who was able to hold up Dr. Wily’s fortress at the end of Mega Man 5)
Travel Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Scales far above Mega Man. Should be undoubtedly superior to Duo who can keep up with Duo, who can travel around the earth destroying evil energy around this timeframe)
Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Scales far above Mega Man and Duo. Comparable to X and Zero)
Reaction Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Comparable to both X and Zero)
Stamina: Limitless
Range: Standard Melee to Hundreds of Meters
Intelligence: Supergenius Intelligence (Alia is the primary navigator for the Maverick Hunters. She guides X, Zero, and Axl throughout their missions and gives out various information on the locations and tips about the various Mavericks and other enemies they battle. Quickly rebuilt X's Falcon Armor, only losing the dash function in result. Discovered the origin of the Nightmare and its properties. She can also build the Falcon Armor and Gaea Armor from data given by Dr. Light. Former researcher at the Reploid Researcher Team. It's heavily implied that Alia created the Mother Elf)
Powers and Techniques
Resistance to Extreme Heats, Extreme Colds, & Weather Manipulation (Can fight inside of a volcano near lava. Can navigate through cold areas. Robot Masters are made to withstand extreme terrains and weather conditions), Mind Manipulation and Soul Manipulation (Despite how active Robot Masters are they do not actually possess the feeling to think, feel, and make decisions of their own as this level of technology wasn't realized until the reploids of the X era. Along with Reploids having something closer to a human soul then any robot Robot Master has. Robot Masters have a "consciousness" though it is different from the standard humans consciousness as it's at the level of a "cognitive circuit" embedded inside each one of them[7]), Cosmic Radiations (Is fine in space. All Robot Masters can breathe and survive in space just fine, with an entire game revolving around traveling through space[8]), Information Manipulation & Conceptual Manipulation (Can take hits from characters that can directly interact with, harm, and destroy a robots data, which all robots "true existences" rely on their data, thus as long as their data is stored they can be remade or come back if their data is specifically "SAVED". All data resides in the deep log of each game's data and information of the Mega Man Franchise and many other Capcom franchises, with it being stated that data makes up the characters' personality, memories are data pieces that can be used to materialize hunter programs and also have the feelings of the characters, their data is even what determines their own canonicity in reality, with all characters being considered data alongside all universes being made of data. With data further being explored through here), Plot Manipulation (As data determines one's canonicity in reality and all universes are made of data, one would need to fully change one's data in order to change their narrative. With data further being explored through here), Electricity Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from electricity based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Heat Manipulation & Fire Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from heat and fire based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it and survive the intense heats), Magma Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from magma based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Ice Manipulation & Absolute Zero (Can take ice attacks from Lumine, who uses ice comparable to Drift Diamond. Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from ice based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it, even with ice as cold as absolute zero), Gravity Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from gravity based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Black Holes (Unaffected by Gravity Antonion's black hole. Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from black hole based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Petrification (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from petrification based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it, with the petrification being potent enough to effect black holes), Acid Manipulation & Corrosion Inducement (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from acid & corrosive based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Transmutation (Robot Masters and others are unaffected by the effects of the the mystery tank, which turns all weak enemies on screen into extra lives), Space-Time Manipulation & BFR (Robot masters are able to tank and survive attacks from the likes of Centaur Flash, which creates a dimensional distortion where he warps space and sends an opponent into a black hole, with even Robot Masters that have a weakness to it surviving its hits and not being sent into a black hole. Robot Masters can also take hits from Cut Man who can cut through space itself and leave dimensional tears that he can jump in).
Fought Sigma and was unaffected by his virus. Which makes her resistances comparable to X's, who can resist: Corruption, Mind Manipulation, Madness Manipulation, Biological Manipulation, Possession, and Hacking (Is able to resist the Sigma virus and even when infected, X just take's normal life drain damage and then it wears off quickly. The Sigma Virus being able to turn reploids into Mavericks. Can navigate area polluted by the Sigma Virus without harm. X is unaffected by locations infected with the Nightmare Phenomenon which was stated to rewrite Reploid DNA and erase their thoughts. X was stated to have perfect DNA in context of resisting the virus. X isn't possessed by the Nightmare Virus which can possess and corrupt you), Soul Manipulation (X is unaffected by the Erasure Incident in Mega Man Xtreme 2)

- ↑ Mega Man X Japanese Manual - “X” presents many problems inconceivable in existing robots. There is a danger he may worry over or question even the absolute requirement for robots, “Do not harm a human.” The act of worrying in “X” marks a new epoch in robotics and is the first time this experiment has succeeded, but if it extends to matters that by their nature must not be questioned, it would be disastrous. In the worst case, if a robot were to harm humans deliberately, humankind would tremble with fear the like of which was unknown even in the days of the “Dr. Wily” incidents… I conclude that “X” is an extremely dangerous being. If I am to send “X” out into the world, he must have a verification period of 30 years at the least. However, I do not have that long to live, and regrettably there is no one who understands all my research to carry it on for me. Therefore I seal “X” here. If by some chance there is someone who discovers this capsule, as long as “X’s” thinking has not been fully analyzed, please leave him untouched. “X” is a robot laden with both unlimited possibility and unlimited danger…
- ↑ PEACE HAS COME TO THE WORLD.
Dr. Wily has reformed, and he and Dr. Right have joined forces, working together to develop a giant peace-keeping robot named “GAMMA”.
“GAMMA”…… It was the life-long dream of Dr. Right, a giant robot to protect and serve world peace.
Their research almost complete, all that remained was to combine 8 energy elements that were scattered about the uncharted planets, and bestow them to “GAMMA”…
–However, each planet met with an unexpected incident. The robots who were mining the energy elements suddenly began going berserk!! Upon learning of this from Dr. Right, “ROCKMAN” immediately set out on a path for the uncharted planets–a new battle was about to begin!! - ↑ Q. Do robots like those made by Dr. Wily or Dr. Cossack have self-awareness, and can they talk? And do they run on solar energy like Rockman does?
A. I take it you’d like to know if Wily and Cossack’s robots possess “sentience”? Naturally, they each have a “consciousness”, although the level of every “cognitive circuit” embedded inside each one of them varies, producing as many different “personality” types as found in people… Just like you or I, they can speak, and have emotional responses like shyness, or anger, just as we do.
Regarding their energy systems, many of them do utilize “solar energy” in some way. - ↑ PEACE HAS COME TO THE WORLD.
