Background

Komuso Man is one of the seven powerful Robot Masters known as the Dimensions led by Rockman Shadow, who traveled from the future with the purpose of destroying the world in Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chōsensha. Komuso Man's design was based on that of a Komusō, a mendicant monastic.

Komuso Man attacks by making invincible doubles of himself, which go to the top of the screen and each of the three Komuso Men fire three projectiles downward in different directions. He can also conjure four fire pillars when standing in the center of the screen. Komuso Man is weak against Aircon Man's Barrier Wind and Forte Cyclone. Konro Man's Flame Shower and Flame Mixer are also effective, rapidly decreasing his life.

This is shown to exist in verse as there are chips that amplify this ability such as Double Barrier and Extend), Absorption (Robot Masters^[9]^[10]^[11] are built in with^[12] usages of solar energy to charge their bodies and use their weapons essentially limitlessly^[13]), pseudo-Teleportation, Transformation, Light Manipulation, Intangibility (Phasing/Elemental), Transmutation (Transformative Arsenal) & BFR (Application Based; All robot masters naturally display teleportation through teleporters interplanetary distances^[14], they do this through transforming into a beam of light, they can use this in the middle of combat to turn intangible and phase through attacks. They can also transform others into a beam of light and send them to other places with the teleporter, essentially removing them from the battlefield), Consciousness Transferal (Robot Masters can transfer their consciousness into other bodies and machines, with characters like Doc Robots having the Robot Masters programs and data directly installed with them, essentially acting as a more powerful body^[15]^[16]), Divine Protection (After defeating ViA■ and destroying the Robot Destroy Program within him, The Player was able to fully correct the Deep Log in its entirety. Notable Techniques

Doppel Crash: Doppel Crash is the special weapon Rockman obtains from Komuso Man in Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chōsensha. Holding the fire button down then releasing it will cause Rockman to attack dashing forward with a blade, damaging even shielded enemies in his path. Rockman is invincible while dashing. This weapon is similar to the sword attack of Rockman Shadow.
Doppler Attack: Doppler Attack is the special weapon Forte obtains from Komuso Man in Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chōsensha. With this weapon, Forte changes into four miniature copies of himself while the attack button is held. While active Forte is invincible and can fly freely all over the screen, being able to pass through walls and damage enemies by touching them. This weapon can also be used to escape from hazards like spikes and pass by narrow passages that usually only Rockman can pass by sliding. Forte will die instantly if he returns to normal in a solid terrain.

Other

Standard Tactics: Komuso Man will create duplicates that will attack an enemy and latch on to walls to do multiple attacks.

Weaknesses: Has a weakness to Aircon Man's barrier wind and forte cyclone attacks. If his data is corrupted, he will be incapable of coming back.

Trivia

The komuso were a group of mendicant monks (monks who relied solely on charity to survive) in Japan that thrived in during the Edo period of 1600-1868. The straw basket they wore on their head (called a tengai or tengui) that can be seen worn by Komuso Man indicated the absence of a specific ego. The flute Komuso Man played is a shakuhachi, a type of Japanese bamboo flute, were used to play songs used during meditation to help attain enlightenment. Due to their obfuscated identities and ability to freely travel throughout Japan unhindered by travel restrictions by government regulations, their disguise was also used by warriors and assassins such as ninja and hitokiri to conduct their activities and maintain an underground contact network for their clients and allies.
Komuso Man’s stage music is an 8-bit version of Tengu Man's stage music from the first Rockman & Forte game.
