Tir McDohl was raised in the City of Gregminster by his father, Teo McDohl, alongside his friends Gremio, Pahn, Cleo, and Ted. Once he turned 16 years old, Teo got his son a job in the Scarlet Moon Empire working under the corrupt Commander Kraze. After doing a few missions, Tir came to learn of the Scarlet Moon Empire's dark intentions, as they were tracking down Ted in order to steal his Soul Eater Rune. Adamant in keeping the Rune as safe as possible, as it was one of the 27 True Runes, Ted begged for Tir to take it from him and escape. Tir agreed to do so, taking the Soul Reaper Rune into himself and leaving. He was taken in by the Liberation Army, then lead by Odessa Silverberg, who opposed the Scarlet Moon Empire. Though Tir did not want to oppose his father, he knew what had to be done. After a horrible and tragic raid resulted in the death of Odessa, Tir was elected by his comrades into taking her place as Leader of the Liberation Army. Tir lead the army to a great amount of victories, eventually able to overcome the dark Court Magician, Windy, and eventually the Emperor of the Scarlet Moon Empire himself, Barbarossa Rugner. Following the climactic battle with Barbarossa that resulted in the crumbling of the Scarlet Moon Empire, Tir came to a grave realization that his Soul Eater Rune was changing the fates of those around him, and drawing them into the clutches of death; the most prominent example of this being Odessa. Wanting to protect everyone, Tir turned down the position as permanent Leader of the Liberation Army, and became a humble wanderer and fisherman. Three years passed, and Tir, although now 19 years old, was still physically 16 due to the Soul Eater Rune preventing him from aging. While he was out fishing, a young boy holding the Bright Shield Rune named Riou approached him, and asked him for help. Tir joined Riou for a short time, saving a young boy named Ko from danger, before deciding to finally return to Gregminster for the first time in three years. |
