'''Lance''' was a member of Indigo Plateau's Elite Four, stationed between the Kanto and Johto region, during the events of ''Pokémon Red/Blue'' and ''Pokémon Firered'' and ''Leafgreen''. He later becomes the Champion of the entire Plateau three years later, during the events of ''Pokémon Gold/Silver'', and ''Pokémon Heartgold/Soulsilver''. As a result, Lance serves as one of, if not the final Trainer fought during the game's story.

He later faced off against Gold in the Indigo Plateau's championship match, which he lost after a tough battle. Although Gold was marked down into the Hall of Fame, Lance remained as Champion of the Plateau, while Gold went on to continue his journey across the regions. Lance later appeared in the Unova region's Pokémon World Tournament, where he fought in the Champion's Tournament.

'''[[Intelligence]]:''' '''Genius''' (Lance is able to commandeer a dozen wildly different Pokémon with extreme proficiency, rising to the top as the Champion of both the Kanto and Johto region. As the most powerful trainer of the two regions, his battle expertise far outstretches that of the Gym Leaders, most of whom have years to decades of experience. His Pokémon’s intelligences should essentially be an extension of Lance’s battle expertise)

Ah! I've heard about you, Red! I lead the Elite Four. You can call me Lance the dragon Trainer. You know that dragons are mythical Pokémon. They're hard to catch and raise, but their powers are superior. They're virtually indestructible. There's no being clever with them. Well, are you ready to lose? Your League challenge ends with me, Red!
~ Lance

It's been a long time since I last came here. This is where we commemorate the League Champion for all eternity. Their courageous Pokémon are also inducted. Here today, we witnessed the rise of a new League Champion--a Trainer who feels compassion for, and trust toward, all Pokémon. A trainer who succeeded through perseverance and determination. The new League Champion who has all the makings of greatness! Gold, allow me to register you and your partners as Champions!
~ Lance

Background

Lance was a member of Indigo Plateau's Elite Four, stationed between the Kanto and Johto region, during the events of Pokémon Red/Blue and Pokémon Firered and Leafgreen. He later becomes the Champion of the entire Plateau three years later, during the events of Pokémon Gold/Silver, and Pokémon Heartgold/Soulsilver. As a result, Lance serves as one of, if not the final Trainer fought during the game's story.

Titled the Dragon Master, Lance specializes in raising and training Dragon Type Pokémon. He and his younger cousin, Clair, were raised in Blackthorn City by their grandfather, who was an elder of the Dragon's Den. This kickstarted Lance's career as the Dragon Master, forging him into the strongest trainer of Kanto and Johto.

Although he has participated in the climactic fights against both Red and Blue Oak, he is more notable for his participation in the thwarting of Team Rocket. When the evil team infiltrated and disrupted the Lake of Rage, Lance briefly left his position as Champion to assist Gold in taking them down.

Codex Statistics

Key: Lance | Lance’s Pokémon

Tier: Likely 8-A | At least High 6-A

Name: Lance

Origin: Pokémon

Sex: Male

Age: Unknown, around 20 years old

Classification: Pokémon Trainer, Pokémon Champion, Dragon Master

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: Likely City District level (Comparable to his durability) | At least Multi-Continent level (Pokémon are shown to be stronger than usual when bonded with Trainers, and also grow stronger with Badges, of which Lance has at least eight. Lance is the Champion of the Indigo Plateau, which puts his Pokémon at the same stature as Steven Stone; Steven is considered a difficult challenge even to Brendan, who had previously faced Groudon; Groudon was said to be able to raise continents. Should also thus be comparable to Calem, who directly faced Yveltal; Yveltal directly powers the Ultimate Weapon)

Durability: Likely City District level (Humans in Pokémon have been shown to survive weak attacks from Pokémon, such as tanking a blast from Cosmog; Although a baby Pokémon, Cosmog should be similar to Pokémon who can use Earth Power) | At least Multi-Continent level

Striking Strength: Likely City District Class | At least Multi-Continent Class

Lifting Strength: Unknown

Travel Speed: Average Human | Massively Hypersonic+ (Lance’s Pokémon, especially those who can fly, should be comparable to Iris’s Pokémon due to both being League Champions; Iris’s Hydreigon could fly into space in a very short time)

Attack Speed: Likely Faster Than Light | Faster Than Light (Can keep up with Red's team and Gold's team)

Reaction Speed: Likely Faster Than Light (Due to commanding his Pokémon's every action, he should be able to react as fast as them) | Faster Than Light (Higher leveled Trainer Pokémon have shown to be able to dodge Solar Beam, which is described as a light-based attack)

Stamina: Superhuman (Could contend in a prolonged fight with Gold, and prove a challenge for him, and thus should be comparable. Gold was able to travel across the entirety of Johto, topple Team Rocket, earn every Gym Badge, become Pokémon League Champion, and then do the exact same in Kanto, without taking a rest) | Likely Superhuman (Lance’s Pokémon have shown to fight alongside him, although their moves are limited by PP and need to be recharged fairly frequently)

Range: Standard Melee, Far Higher with Pokémon moves

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius Intelligence (Lance is able to commandeer a dozen wildly different Pokémon with extreme proficiency, rising to the top as the Champion of both the Kanto and Johto region. As the most powerful trainer of the two regions, his battle expertise far outstretches that of the Gym Leaders, most of whom have years to decades of experience. His Pokémon’s intelligences should essentially be an extension of Lance’s battle expertise. Lance should scale to other champions as well who can use and fight such Pokémon as Metagross, who is smarter than a supercomputer)
