Background

Shelke Rui, also known as Shelke the Transparent of the Tsviets, is an antagonist turned protagonist of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, starring in Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. Recognized for her strong mental potential, Shelke was kidnapped from a young age and taken into Shinra's top-secret organization, Deepground. There, she went through tortuous training to turn her into the robotic and obedient Shelke the Transparent.

For the ten years that Shelke had been kept in Deepground, she was physically altered to the point where she no longer aged, and couldn't survive even a day without a dosage of Mako. She was also implanted with the mind of professor Lucrecia Crescent, whose memories were constantly in contention with Shelke's own. Her sister, Shalua Rui, had been searching for her all this time, and it is in their reunion that Shelke begins to reclaim her former self.

Alignment: Lawful Evil initially (Shelke was a dutiful soldier of Deepground who did exactly as asked of her, carrying out evil deeds without any second thought. Her main goal was to serve Weiss, who tasked her with retreiving the Protomateria from Vincent through any means necessary. She has no problem with killing and will even turn her blade against her own kin, Shalua. Shelke is prone to a change of heart, however, and thus it mainly appears as though she simply carries out evil deeds out of strict order and not any self-fulfillment), Chaotic Good post-Deepground Strikes Back (After witnessing Shalua sacrifice herself to save Shelke's life, she goes into a state of shock, and cannot comprehend why someone would lose their own life for the sake of another's. Following some wise words from Vincent, however, Shelke soon sees the value in her sister's sacrifice and allies with the WRO. This is solidified when her very own former comrades, the Tsviets, outright try to kill her and claim that she is not longer required for their evil goals. Fully aligned with the heroes, Shelke rediscovers her humanity. This newfound individuality developed some selfishness within her, too, as she refuses to allow for Shalua to pass into the Lifestream)

He is also consistently stated to be the strongest character in the series, placing him above Bahamut Fury, who can also create a dimension with a starry sky, and Knights of the Round, which can destroy its own dimension containing a galaxy cluster)

Spirit Energy Physiology, which grants: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Blessed (Everyone born into the world is blessed with Spirit Energy), Sheer Will (Willpower alone can be enough to fight off Mako poisoning, and the will of Jenova. Those with a strong enough will can retain their sense of self after dying and returning to the Lifestream), Memory Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Rage Power, & Aura (Limit Breaks are born of memories, are comprised of Spirit Energy, and are unleashed when the user's anger is pushed to the limit. They give off an aura when used), Non-Standard Interaction (Characters can interact with the souls of the Gi Tribe), Regeneration Negation (Biological; Can completely kill pieces of Jenova, preventing them from regenerating. Jenova can regenerate itself fully so long as its cells remain, as Cloud Strife participates in Jenova's Reunion despite only containing her cells. Despite this, pieces of Jenova defeated by the heroes were unable to enact the Reunion), Accelerated Development (When Sephiroth fought the party far earlier than he was supposed to, the main characters could still contend with him, even after Sephiroth absorbed the Whispers and became stronger than he had ever been)

Equipment

• EM Sabers: A pair of two metallic rods that act as Shelke's main forms of weaponry, that are connected via a glowing orange string. These sabers can be ignited and glow with intense orange energy, allowing for her to shock her opponents with every strike. They are powerful laser blades, though any contact with water can put them out and leave them as simple metal batons.

  EM Sabers

• Shield Materia: A small orb of condensed Mako energy, which has a peculiar orange coloration not seen in any other Materia. With this Materia, Shelke can create a barrier around herself that protects her from all forms of harm, to the extent that she compares its protective power to the potency of Azul's field barrier. Having this activated can also protect her from the power of darkness, as seen when she was absorbed by Nero the Sable.
