“ | It sure took you four... long enough. Welcome to Earth's future, Alinivar. Over 20 years in the future, to be more specific. And in this future, all is devastation. Many things have happened since you departed in the Phase Distorter. To you, it surely seems like yesterday.
When you left that day so long ago... I remained behind. But neither me nor Giegue could bring ourselves to harm eachother. Because, you see... We are of the same race... and it is highly forbidden to take up arms amongst ourselves. So we went our seperate ways again. And, believe or not, everything was fine for a while. No attacks. No destruction. Giegue had withdrawn into himself... spending every day alone, staring into that Apple of Enlightenment. The one we fought so hard to protect, finally brough together... I thought it was a miracle that failing to acquire the apple pieces hadn't caused some sort of catastrophe. So I waited for you. Using my powerful PSI, I watched from the highest cliff in all of Eagleland. It felt like an eternity. Waiting for anything that may have felt like a time jump. I had taken a gamble, letting you escape in the expiremental Phase Distorter. The previous version was unsafe for anything living, after all. But it seems like it had been modified with pieces of our technology. I thought I was going to die up there. But then something unexpected happened. A sudden surge of energy. In my receptive state, it overwhelmed everything I knew. And the planet Earth was never the same again. Slowy but surely, the human flame was extinguished by the overwhelming might of this new force calling itself Giygas. But at this core, this new force was simply Giegue himself. Logical thought abandoned, he lashed out with his PSI and demolished himself, becoming a horrific mass of pure energy. All because of what the Apple told him. But... now you're here... And finally there's some hope left. The Apple of Enlightment has told me everything after Giegue was done with it. I know what has happened can be reversed. Return to your own time. Find a mineral called Zexonyte, and bring it here. Zexonyte can be found in the leftover husks of meteors which have fallen planetside. Check Saturn. Then we might be able to make a last-ditch effort against Giygas. ...Take this door. It'll get you out of this lost dimension. |

~ Future Niiue |
Background
Niiue is an important character in Mother: Cognitive Dissonance. He is introduced as Giegue's "second in command", but in truth, Niiue is all of Giegue's human emotions expelled from his body, effectively making him his double. Due to this, Niiue is a more sane version of Giegue, and views the ascension of Giygas to be a threat to the universe. This causes Niiue to help the Applechasers in their quest to get all the pieces of the Apple of Enlightment and prevent the rise of Giygas.

Weaknesses: Is the opposite of Giegue, having contrasting weaknesses with his. His power wanes as the game progresses, but eventually goes back to its peak at the end of the game
Note: Whether or not the end game feats are 3-A or 2-C are from the developers of CogDis's knowledge of the feats on the canon game. While it is highly unlikely that they know of canon Giygas's 2-A feat (hence which is why they're not 2-A), it is likely they know of canon Giygas's 2-C feat (disregarding the 2-A feats) due to it being an important plot point of the canon game. The main cast did absorb their magicants, but magicants being 2-C structures as opposed to 3-A ones comes from the original Japanese text, and it is completely unknown if the delevopers of CogDis have knowledge of the Japanese text.
