~ Future Gohan to Android 17 & 18

Background

Son Gohan, often called Future Gohan, is an alternate version of the main Son Gohan, hailing from a timeline in which the planet was ravaged by Android 17 and 18. Unlike the main timeline, which had been drastically altered by Future Trunks, this world was left untouched and unprotected, putting the Z Fighters on their last legs.

After Son Goku succumbed to his heart virus and passed away, Earth had lost its greatest protector. The twin siblings, Android 17 and 18, continued to wreak havoc upon the world simply out of a desire to destroy. Although the Z Fighters fought against them, they were no match and fell in battle. The only two fighters who remained were Son Gohan, and his pupil Trunks.

Son Gohan and Trunks would intercept countless Android attacks as they came along, although they constantly saw that they were outmatched. In one specific attack, Gohan was hit by a powerful explosion, and lost his left arm as a result. Knowing that he wouldn’t survive much longer, Gohan pushed Trunks as hard as he could to become a Super Saiyan.

Although seemingly unsuccessful, Gohan knew that Trunks was extremely close to finally reaching the form. Confident in placing the hope of the world on his pupil, Gohan set out alone for one final stand against the Androids. After putting up an incredible fight, Gohan was killed in a blaze of glory.

However, just as he had hoped, his death would be the push that finally saw Trunks become a Super Saiyan. His legacy would live on within Trunks, who would later kill the Androids in his name. At last, the future timeline was safe.

Codex Statistics

Tier: At least 7-A, Higher in Super Saiyan. Much Higher with Strongest Charged Blast

Grade: A (The last surviving and strongest Z Fighter, being the only thing holding off Android 17 and Android 18)

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: At least Metropolis level (Is superior to Son Goku on Namek, sparred with Super Saiyan Future Trunks, making him far above the likes of Nappa who casually destroyed a city and stood within the blast without having any damage, and Raditz who can cause explosions dwarfing the mountains, which results in these levels of energy), Higher in Super Saiyan (Could somewhat harm Future Android 17, though he noted he wasn't even using half of his power). Much Higher with Strongest Charged Blast (Should be comparable to Vegeta's strongest charged attack, where he was going to use his galick gun to destroy the earth[Note/Explanation 1], which would reach these levels of energy)

Durability: At least Metropolis level, Higher in Super Saiyan, Higher with Guard Up (Ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard), Lower with Ki Control (Higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them)

Striking Strength: At least Metropolis Class, Higher in Super Saiyan

Lifting Strength: At least Class 25 (Comparable to Vegeta, who trained in 300 times gravity, where Vegeta is naturally 56 kg, making him 16,800 kg or 16.8 tons), Higher as Super Saiyan

Travel Speed: Massively Hypersonic+ (Superior to Super Saiyan Son Goku on Namek, who previously in his base form traveled from Frieza's ship over to Vegeta in this timeframe), Higher in Super Saiyan

Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic+ (Can react to foes far beyond 22nd Budokai Son Goku, who could dodge a mouth blast from Tambourine, which he used to tag the flying nimbus where even post King Kai training Goku used the flying nimbus to make it to the saiyans implying it is at least comparable to his flight speed by then, with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds), Higher in Super Saiyan

Reaction Speed: Massively Hypersonic+, Higher in Super Saiyan

Stamina: Superhuman (Should be similar to his father, two travelled over Snake Way for countless days straight. Should also be comparable to his main timeline self, who as a kid was able to survive training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for nearly a year, which is said to be incredibly physically taxing and difficult to stay in for even a short amount of time)

Range: Standard Melee, Interstellar with Ki Attacks (Ki attacks can reach out of the planet and to other planets. All ki attacks should be comparable to Goku's kamehameha, which reached all the way to the sun)

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence (Is less intelligent than his main timeline counterpart, due to simply being alive for less time, and having not gone through schooling. However, he is still an extremely intelligent warrior, able to keep up with the Son Goku of his time, who has several years of fighting experience)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Chi Manipulation & Ki Manipulation (Gohan can generate Ki for attacks. All beings in Dragon Ball have ki , the very life force energy of all characters, ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard, higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them. A users ki aura can exert itself as a weapon to attack), Attack Reflection (All Ki users are able to reflect attacks just by being stronger than their opponent. Examples include, Nappa deflecting a masenko from Son Gohan, Son Gohan being able to bounce back the spirit bomb, Son Goku deflecting a crusher ball from Jeice, Frieza deflecting a Final Burst Cannon from Vegeta, Son Goku reflecting multiple death beams back to back from Frieza, and Future Trunks being able to completely repel an energy blast with his hand from a Frieza Soldier just by being much stronger than them), Homing Attack (Ki users can create attacks that will home in and chase a target forever), Mind Manipulation (Characters can link their ki together and train within each other’s mind enacting in image training), Power Absorption & Transferal (Ki users can transfer their ki to others and absorb the ki given to them from others), Aura (He can surround himself in an aura of Ki. Has an aura of ki surrounding him whenever he exerts ki), Vibration Manipulation (Powerful ki users can cause the very ground itself to shake when they power up), Intimidation, Spirit Manipulation & Pain Manipulation ( Ki is the manifestation of one’s lifeforce, along with the aura giving one the feeling of being crushed, exerting fear into the target, sometimes making them incapable of moving as their body is instinctively stuck due to the sheer difference in power), Energy Manipulation (Ki is the latent power in one's body, this latent power allows them to form and create energy from controlling their ki, which can be used to shoot out energy blast), Explosion Manipulation (Ki attacks can create massive explosions, control the ki to set off a huge explosion under the enemy, or in front of them), Heat Manipulation (Ki user's ki attacks produce heat allowing them to cook and grill animals and raw meat[3][4], along with leaving behind steam after the attacks hit an area, showing its latent heat), Nullification (Attack Nullification; Those with ki can nullify attacks of lesser ki with their ki alone. They can also catch and nullify ki attacks around their level through focusing enough[5]. Power Nullification; Through having greater ki, one can nullify the powers done through ki attacks, such as Frieza being able to nullify a hakai ball[6], which fully destroys a target[7], though he is unable to resist a hakai ball from Toppo due to him being stronger[8], this ability however only works on ki, attacks unrelated, characters cannot resist through being stronger, such as how Vegeta, Krillin, & Son Gohan are unable to resist Guldo's psychic powers, along with even the likes of Son Goku), Forcefield Creation (Ki users such as Cell can generate forcefields around themselves. These forcefields can be expanded, and used to protect others and defend against attacks far higher then the user), Super Armor (Through releasing one's ki, they enter a state known as "Hyper Mode", in this state they do not flinch from weak melee attacks), Self-Destruction (Ki users in Dragon Ball are able to release all of the energy within them to cause a massive self-destruction of energy that normally kills the user and turns them into dust though one can control it to surviving but having no stamina or energy left), Light Manipulation (Ki can be used as a flash of light, Degisu seeing ki attacks be fired notes that the characters are "firing light from their hands"[9]), Dreaming Existence (Characters in Shin Budokai have shown to create physical bodies in alternate timelines through dreaming), Non-Standard Interaction (Intangible Interaction; Those with ki can block intangible attacks when they focus and notices them[10]. Space-Time Interaction; Characters can blast space-time distortions to close them), Healing (Ki can be used to heal beings, allowing them to survive even with half their torso, it can also heal from near death), Fusionism (Future Gohan can perform the Fusion Dance).

Limited Resistance to Durability Negation (Ki users can focus their energy to localize an object to a specific spot to stop them from attempting to destroy their organs/insides), Resistance to Poison Manipulation (Can resist poisons through Forcefield Creation[11])
Longevity (Saiyans can keep their youth until around 80 years old), Reactive Power Level (A saiyan’s power increases if they survive from injuries in battle, with their powers allowing them to greatly exceed their previous levels beforehand), Rage Power (Grows incredibly powerful when angry. Mere rage can amplify a saiyan to a level that's believed to be a myth even by the highest levels of saiyans in the verse), Damage Boost (Saiyans attack power rises when health is low), Reactive Power Level (As a Saiyan, his power level will increase after a tough battle)

Notable Techniques

  • Flight: With a mastery of Ki control, Gohan is able to fly at incredibly high speeds.
  • Ki Blast: Using Ki, Gohan can concentrate it into a ball that he uses as a projectile attack.
  • Ki Sense: Gohan is able to detect lifeforms and power levels from far off.
  • Kamehameha: The iconic move coined by Master Roshi, which Gohan has adopted for himself. This starts as a blue Ki ball, which is charged in Gohan’s hands before releasing as an incredibly powerful beam.
    • Super Kamehameha: This is an amplified version of the Kamehameha which has a larger and more devastating beam, which Gohan uses by first bolstering his Ki.
  • Special Beam Cannon: The signature move of Piccolo, which was passed down to Gohan. This move has the user charge energy within their two fingers for quite some time, before firing an extremely thin, concentrated, and absurdly powerful beam out.
  • Masenko: A beam attack similar to the Kamehameha, having Gohan raise his hand before unleashing it. Unlike the Kamehameha, the beam of the Masenko is yellow.
    • Hyper Masenko: This is an amplified version of the Masenko which has a larger and more devastating beam, which Gohan uses by first bolstering his Ki.
  • Down Burst: The user fires an energy sphere to the ground in order to get away from his opponents.
  • Sonic Rush: Future Gohan starts the attack by kicking his opponent away. He then teleports behind them and does a right-hand chop, followed by a right hook then a right sweep kick. Future Gohan finishes the rush attack by kicking his opponent high in the air then knocking them back down with a right elbow, inflicting a great amount of damage.

  • Super Saiyan: The ability to transform into a more powerful being, Future Gohan takes this form every time he fights the androids. It is not exactly clear at what age and how he became a Super Saiyan in the alternate timeline, but it is implied that he became able to use Super Saiyan after seeing his friends killed by the androids, as suggested by his fierce hatred towards them. He also attempted to teach the ability to Future Trunks and succeeded in the manga.

Other

Standard Tactics: Unlike his main timeline self, this Gohan does not resort to passive strats due to existing in a future of ruin and instead goes straight for transforming, along with using his energy attacks with hand to hand combat.

Weaknesses

Note

  • Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[14].
  • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
