Alright then, you can have it your way, Kakarot. I didn't come here to kill you, but it seems you have left me no choice. It's too bad, little brother. I do think you would have found the life of a Saiyan to be quite invigorating.
~ Raditz to Son Goku

Background

Raditz is the older brother of Son Goku, and first son of the legendary Saiyan warrior, Bardock. Born on Planet Vegeta, Raditz grew up extremely distasteful of his position of a low-class Saiyan warrior, and knew that his relation to his father would mean that he would be stuck that way forever. As Raditz grew older, he began distancing himself more and more from Bardock.

Finally able to rebuild his reputation, Raditz would become friends with the Prince of Saiyans, Vegeta, and watched over by Nappa. That group of three would soon become a trio of high-class fighters, serving under the Frieza Force to conquer planets. That group would travel together for several years, pillaging and wiping life off of each planet they came across, and Raditz believed that the three of them were a formidable team; unbeknownst to him, however, both Vegeta and Nappa considered Raditz a weak and unnecessary addition to their team.

However, as their conquest continued on, they were faced with more and more powerful resistance. Raditz knew that they needed an additional member to their team. That's when an idea came to Raditz, as he recalled that his younger brother, Kakarot, had been sent to a planet called Earth shortly before Planet Vegeta was destroyed. Raditz quickly set out to Earth on his own, to find Kakarot, who he assumed had already conquered the planet.

As Raditz arrived on Earth, he was surprised to find that civilization was still existing as usual. Raditz quickly searched for Kakarot's power level, and found him at a place called Kame House, where he was living among the humans. Repulsed, Raditz gave Kakarot (now named Son Goku) the chance to join him without causing any harm. Goku refused, and so Raditz took drastic measures.

Kidnapping Goku's young son, Son Gohan, Raditz flew off and instructed to kill 100 humans before they met again, if he wanted his son back. As expected, Goku refused to do so, and alongside his former-rival Piccolo, faced off against Raditz. Although he had the heavy advantage for a while, Raditz's overconfidence and arrogance began to make him slip up.

Eventually, Goku grabbed hold of Raditz's tail, which was said to be a Saiyan's weak point, and then held him close into as chokehold. While Radtiz struggled, Piccolo charged up his most powerful technique, and then shot it at the two brothers. In an instant, both Raditz and Goku were pierced through the stomach, and fell to the ground.

With his final breaths, Raditz warned Piccolo that two more Saiyans far stronger than he (Vegeta and Nappa) were on their way to kill everyone on Earth. And with that, both Raditz and Goku passed away from their fatal wounds. Raditz would go on to prove resistance in the Other World, but would be ultimately sent to Hell.

He doesn't needlessly destroy anything, instead opting for things such as kidnapping to accomplish his goals. He tries to goad Son Goku into killing 100 humans in a bargain for his son's life; a testament to his cruelty)

Codex Statistics

Grade: B

Tier: 7-A

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Power Source: Ki (All beings in Dragon Ball[1][2][3] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[4], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[5] block attacks that would otherwise[6] kill them from[7] raising their guard[8], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[9])

Attack Potency: Metropolis level (Shot energy blast that caused explosions dwarfing the mountains, which results in these levels of energy. Was able to casually overpower both Early Saiyan Saga Piccolo and Early Saiyan Saga Son Goku)

Durability: Metropolis level, Higher with Guard Up (Ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard)

Striking Strength: Metropolis Class

Lifting Strength: Class 1 (Superior to Early Saiyan Saga Goku, who before training with King Kai is able to barely move around and jump in gravity that multiplies his weight by ten times, where he's naturally 62 kg, thus making him 620 kg on King Kai's planet)

Travel Speed: Superhuman (Superior to Early Saiyan Saga Son Goku, where it was noted by Goku that it took him six months to travel snake way, which results in these speeds)

Attack Speed: High Hypersonic

Reaction Speed: High Hypersonic (Far Beyond 22nd Budokai Son Goku, who could dodge a mouth blast from Tambourine, which he used to tag the flying nimbus where even post King Kai training Goku used the flying nimbus to make it to the saiyans implying it is at least comparable to his flight speed by then, with Goku being capable of traveling over a million of kilometers in two days which results in these speeds. Should be far faster than Mercenary Tao, who stated that a jet would take too long and used his pillar, with fighter jets reaching up to 1000 mph)

Stamina: Superhuman (Should be comparable to, if not superior to, early-Dragon Ball Z Goku, who traveled across Snake Way mainly non-stop for over 100 days. As a Saiyan Warrior, who are essentially born for combat, his stamina is incredibly high)

Range: Standard Melee, Interstellar with Ki Attacks (Ki attacks can reach out of the planet and to other planets. All ki attacks should be comparable to Goku's kamehameha, which reached all the way to the sun)

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence (Raditz was an extremely powerful and adept fighter, who knew it would be wise to recruit his little brother into the Frieza Force. Despite being considered weak among Saiyan warriors, Raditz could take on a martial artist that had trained for years, Son Goku, with little trouble)

Powers and Techniques

Equipment

  • Attack Ball: This round Saiyan space pod only has room for one person, which Raditz used to travel from planet to planet; notably, he used this space pod to travel to Earth, and locked Gohan inside it during his fight with Piccolo and Goku.

  • Saiyan Armor: Due to being a part of the Saiyan Army and Frieza Force, Raditz has Saiyan Armor. This armor is unbelievably durable, but also incredibly stretchy; the armor can stretch so much that it fits around Saiyans when they turn into a Great Ape.
  • Scouter: Technology developed by the Tuffle race, but adopted by the Saiyans after the Tuffles were wiped out. This advanced piece of technology can detect the presence of life forms, calculate anyone’s battle power, and can also be used for telecommunication.

Notable Techniques

  • Flight: With a mastery of Ki control, Raditz is able to fly at incredibly high speeds.
  • Ki Blast: Using Ki, Raditz can concentrate it into a ball that he uses as a projectile attack.
  • Behind You!: This is a tactic Raditz uses, where he faces away from an opponent as they attack and then surprises them with a kick to the face.
  • Saturday Crush: Raditz holds up his right hand and draws ki into his palm, before swinging his arm forwards and launching a large pink ki ball at his opponents, which explodes on contact.
  • Shining Friday: Similar to the previous attack, Raditz charges a purple ki blast and fires it at short range.
  • Double Sunday: Raditz raises both of his arms above his head and then angles them downward at either side of himself, shooting two large ki beams. Optimal for attacking two opponents at once.

Other

Standard Tactics: Raditz will envelop a tactic of using weaker attacks against his opponent to make them suffer, though if they are stronger than him or around his level he will use his more powerful attacks and attempt to finish them off with ki blast/ki attacks.

Weaknesses

Note

  • Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[112].
  • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
