Palutena

Background

Palutena, also known as "Lady Palutena," is the Goddess of Light, rightful ruler of Angel Land, and patron deity to Pit. She is kindhearted and benevolent, as opposed to the cruel and malevolent Medusa, the Goddess of Darkness who Palutena banished to the Underworld to punish her for her evil deeds.

She serves as the leader of her army, and while she never physically aids Pit on the battlefield, she does everything in her power to support him from the sidelines, even when she's physically incapable of doing so.

She has even shown great knowledge on universes that aren't even part of the main Kid Icarus series such as The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros. along with their characters and lore. Palutena shows a great understanding in cosmology and the space-time continuum to the point she's made powers capable of warping space and time to access entirely separate temporal planes)

Weaknesses: Despite being an intelligent being with centuries of experience, she's oftentimes not taking the situation very seriously and acts very light-hearted in character. Rarely does Palutena directly fight herself and uses a lot of defensive measures before facing her foe head on

Note: Due to Sakurai being the prime developer for both Kid Icarus Uprising and Super Smash Bros., we can take Pit and co's abilities and dialogue as a secondary canon for Kid Icarus's lore since Palutena's guidance stays relative to Kid Icarus's story and even further fleshed it out.

‘’’Note 2:’’’ Palutena notes in her smash reveal trailer that anything an angel can do, a goddess can do better. This is further proven by her being responsible for most of Pit's powers and abilities and regularly granting him new and unique powers.
