Background
Manuel Pablo Gutierrez O'Brian Equihua Rivera, commonly called "Manny" for short, is the main character and protagonist of the series El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera.
Manny Rivera is the civilian identity of El Tigre. Besides being a student at Miracle City's school and living in the roof rooms of an apartment building with his dad Rodolfo Rivera and Grandpapi, he is known for having the super powers of his alter ego El Tigre every time he spins his El Tigre Belt's Buckle. His best friend Frida is commonly with him and is often a part of Manny's antics, whether it be good or bad.

---|
Manny's history was revealed only by the creator himself and only slightly in the series. He was once taken care of by both Maria and Rodolfo until the former left since she could not cope with her husband ending up hurt with every battle. Afterwords, his Grandpapi moved in and Manny was taken care of by him and his father. It was during this time that in pre-school, he was once friends with Zoe Aves. Their friendship continued until he met Frida in detention, who quickly became his best friend, thus beginning the feud between Frida and Zoe. When Frida first got kidnapped by Sartana, Manny used his El Tigre powers for the first time to save her. Unfortunately, he didn't watch what he was doing and accidentally scratched himself in the face, resulting in a scar on his face. Rodolfo warned Manny that this should be a lesson to him that his powers can hurt anyone, even himself. Since then, Manny began to use his El Tigre powers, either for helping others or just for his own benefit. This also would take him to new experiences. In a future confirmed by the creator, Jorge Gutierrez, Manny continues his life as known through the series. When he gets to high school, he dates Zoe Aves for a time but later breaks up with her after an unknown length and unknown circumstances. After high school, he goes to college, where he becomes an artist for his career without abandoning his superhero/supervillain persona of El Tigre. When reuniting with Frida, Manny falls in love with her and decides to take his relationship with Frida further, in which they eventually end up marrying. It was also stated by Jorge that Manny and Frida would have triplets; one a hero, one a villain, and one undecided. Also mentioned by the creator, Manny would finally choose the side between good or evil, but there is no information on which side he picks or when it all occurs. Although, Nickelodeon let viewers decide Manny’s fate, whether good or bad. It was revealed on the last episode and good was chosen. |

Standard Equipment
- El Tigre Belt: While the initial conception of the mystic El Tigre Belt remains a mystery, it is clear that it has been around far longer than earlIer Mexican civilizations. The difference of the belt from the other objects of power, is that the belt buckle needs to be spun to be activated, unlike the boots which give power by merely wearing them, and the sombrero, which can be used on mental command. It is also quite obvious that the belt is far more powerful and harbors a much more powerful spirit inside of it, the Ancient Tiger Spirit. The fact that the belt must be worn and the buckle must be spun is likely the only way of holding back the power of the belt. The only other wearer of the belt was around far before any of the other Rivera's, seen as the first Rivera, dating back before/during the Meso-american era, so it is safe to assume the belt was conceived around this time.
Optional Equipment
- Bronze Boots of Truth: The Bronze Boots of Truth are the mystic items of White Pantera. With it, the person gains super speed and can force someone to tell the truth if the boots touch their face.
- Golden Sombrero of Chaos: The Golden Sombrero of Chaos is the mystic item of Puma Loco. The Golden Sombrero of Chaos transforms into a mech-suit that carries and is controlled by the user. The suit has giant claws that can be turned into other weapons such as missiles that fire from slots on the arms. The claws can also be used as throwing projectiles, since they can fly individually. The suit can fly at a very high speed.
- Raul: Raul is a mustache that can move itself, similar to the members of the Mustache Mafia. He was created by Dr. Chipotle Jr., only to get his hands on the El Tigre Belt. With Raul, Manny essentially has a second fighter protecting his face who can shapeshift and stretch.
Notable Techniques
- Super strength: Manny has superhuman strength, even in his base form. He can lift heavy objects like rocks, cars, giant monsters, and robot hands.
- Jumping abilities: Manny can perform huge jumps from any surface. He can travel several kilometers just by jumping. He is able to use his jumping with his surface scale abilities to quickly climb up buildings.
- Coordination: El Tigre has excellent reflexes and agility when he's moving or fighting. This makes him very fast even for some enemies.
- Combat skills: Manny is a great hand-to-hand fighter when he confronts an enemy, he has also shown skill in wrestling, being capable of easily defeating enemies in it.
- Retractable sharp claws: El Tigre has sharp retractable metal claws in each hand. He can pull them out and hide them like a real feline. The claws can cut through almost anything; like flesh, wood and metal.
- Grappling hook hand: El Tigre's hands are attached to chains, which he can shoot like a grappling hook and using his claws he can reach high places like mountains and buildings. In the episode "The Good, The Bad, and The Tigre" its revealed that the chain is part of El Tigre's body and can feel pain if he cuts it.
- The Spinning Armadillo: A powerful move El Tigre learns from Black Cuervo. He runs up a wall, jumps, spins with his claws to make the shape of an armadillo, dives, does some poses and then kicks his opponent. He only uses this move in Enter the Cuervo.
- Claw Shot: El Tigre shoots his claws like guns and can be shot from 2 to 4 at a time.
- Spin Cyclone: El Tigre spins with his razor sharp claws to make a shredding tornado.
- Vicious Uppercut: El Tigre does multiple punches that send his enemies flying.
- Pounce Kick: El Tigre jumps, then does an air kick for a few seconds.
- The Amazing Chain Claw: El Tigre launches his claw around him.
- The Sensational Bowler: El Tigre spins into a ball and runs into his enemies.
- Super Swipe: El Tigre uses his claws to make a wave which causes an earthquake.
- Radical Ricochet: El Tigre bounces around and knocks out all his foes around him.
- Tijuana Tornado: El Tigre spins around in a tornado and runs into his foes.
- Savage Slash: El Tigre slashes the air, then slashes his enemies.
- Mega Quake: El Tigre pounds the ground to make a earthquake that sends his enemies flying.
- Atomic Slam: El Tigre jumps into the air, then body slams into a foe.
- Ancient Tiger Spirit: During the events of the episode "The Grave Escape", El Tigre learns how to summon and control the Ancient Tiger Spirit. When using this power, Tigre is wrapped in a field of a glowing green tiger-shaped energy. In this shape, he becomes nearly invincible, as he can defeat many opponents with just one move.
Other
Standard Tactics: In his base state his immedieate reaction to an enemy is to transform into El Tigre. As El Tigre he will attempt to impress his opponent during their fight, using various moves on them and claw strikes.
Weaknesses: Manny is extremely gullible to the point that very simple tricks can catch him. Will do anything if one questions the Rivera's honor, regardless of how dangerous[66].
Note: El Tigre is a very inconsistent series with far more lower showings, thus the higher feats such as Sartana's moon face feat is considered a potential outlier and only listed as a "possibly far higher". To further explain, almost every episode consistently treats buildings falling on the characters as a legitimate threat and in some episodes they can either tank it with minor to major damages or be completely hospitalized. Along with those, the scaling in the show is immensely inconsistent, Manny can at times fight El Oso by himself and then other times need his entire family to fight El Oso and even then sometimes the combined might can't beat him. El Mal Verde was treated as the strongest villain in the show, and was easily defeated by Sartana and at the end of the series defeated by El Tigre, White Pandera, and Puma Loco with a single punch.
