Background

GIR is the robotic assistant of Zim in Invader Zim. He is happy-go-lucky, extremely hyperactive, and the closest thing Zim has to a real friend. GIR will eat just about anything, regardless of whether it is edible or not. Most of the time he spouts nonsense and usually just fools around whenever Zim gives an order. However he does have a few brief moments of clarity: for instance, in "Walk for Your Lives" he actually contemplated whether making the explosion go faster would make things worse ("But if the big 'splody goes fast, won't it get all bad?"), and in "Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy" he questioned the wisdom of sending a machine into the past to destroy Dib.

Every so often, GIR will display brief instances of complete functionality. Usually triggered by Zim giving an order, this "Duty Mode" is made manifest by the teal parts of GIR's body and eyes flashing red, his voice changing from high-pitched to harsh, deep and rough, and GIR himself snapping to attention, alert and utterly obedient. He concludes it with a salute and response of "Yes, sir!". These random bouts never last for long, though, and after a few seconds, GIR is right back to his gleeful, hyperactive self. As it turns out, though, this brevity is probably a good thing for Zim: As he learned the hard way when he tried to lock GIR into Duty Mode via a Behavioral Modulator, if GIR was fully lucid all the time, he would quickly realize that his own master was a threat to their mission to conquer Earth, and would quickly eliminate him.

Codex Statistics

Key: Base | With Preparation

Tier: 8-A, Higher in Duty Mode | 8-A physically, Higher in Duty Mode. Technology Varies from 8-A to 5-B to 2-C with Irken Technology, up to 2-B via the Florpus hole

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: City District level (Shown to be comparable to Zim and other characters that can harm him), Higher in Duty Mode (Easily overpowered Zim and nearly killed him if it weren't for the diversion that was being set up) | City District level physically, Higher in Duty Mode. Technology Varies from City District level normally (Zim has used minor tech to regularly match and overpower Dib. Has access to the Voot cruiser. Has displayed usage of Zim's equipment before) to Low Mass Star level (Zim once used a bomb to blow up a planet, with the explosion being the size of the planet itself. Able to create devices that can destroy Earth. Can summon the Star Donkey, who can kick the earth towards the sun. Has a Bazoogian Core-Muncher that can eat through planets. Nearly destroyed his home planet during Operation Impending Doom I. Can possibly wrap the entire Earth within mechanical wiring), to Universe level with Dimensional Scope and Irken Technology (Scaling to Zib, who used Irken technology with his own upgrades completely destroy his own timeline. With another piece of equipment Dib created the Nightmare Realm, a parallel universe. Dib stated this was used from Membrane's tech which Zim has stated is far inferior to his own species tech. GIR with or without Duty Mode has displayed usage of Zim's equipment and is vastly more intelligent than him while locked into Duty Mode), up to Multi-Universe level via the Florpus hole (The Florpus hole is a spatial anomaly of which sucks in anything nearby and collide them with other realities)

Durability: City District level, Higher in Duty Mode | City District level, Higher in Duty Mode, Even Higher with different kinds of protective suits

Striking Strength: City District Class, Higher in Duty Mode | City District Class, Higher in Duty Mode

Lifting Strength: Class 5 (Threw a police car through the wall of the house[1]) | Class 5

Travel Speed: Superhuman travel speed (Comparable to Zim who ran up the stairs quickly enough before a lady could turn her head.[2] Should be comparable to Tak who moved so fast she appeared as a blur.[3] Should be comparable, albeit slower than Doctor Membrane who ran a large distance through a giant crowd in a split second), Unknown Flight Speed (Flew from Mars to Mercury in an unknown as Zim and Dib were flying them around[4],) | Superhuman travel speed, Unknown Flight Speed

Attack Speed: Superhuman | Superhuman

Reaction Speed: Superhuman | Superhuman

Stamina: Limitless due to being a Robot

Range: Standard Melee, Several Meters with laser eyes. At least Planetary launching distance (Launched objects and animals out into space), Planetary via bombs and other equipments, Interstellar via telescopes & teleportation, Universal with Irken Technology, Multi-Universal via the Florpus hole

Intelligence: Varies but usually Mental Disability (GIR is a very naive, cheerful, and frankly idiotic for a robot servant. Often times displaying himself as a nuisance to his master, disobeying orders when given, and is frequent to out bursts. His low intelligence overall has been both an inconvenience and big help to Zim in certain situations. But still tends to be problematic and chaotic regardless. Despite all of this, GIR has shown a few instances of awareness and notable competence such as how he points out some flaws in one of Zim's plan[5] or questioned the wisdom of sending a machine into the past to destroy Dib.[6] Sometimes he even obeys his masters orders, once making him proud and happy. Can pilot the Voot Cruiser and has utilized Zim's equipments before. Wrote and sang a song that got children all around the planet to hold hands to help accomplish Zim's goal. In the Unfinished episode, The Trial, GIR managed to conquer Earth in one day, and he unexpectedly becomes a much better Invader than Zim. And unlike Zim, GIR is shown to be a benevolent leader, as humans seem to greatly respect and revere him. Once disguised as Dib that was realistic enough for others to confuse the real Dib for a clone. Almost became successful in exposing Zim's true identity, something Dib has been struggling to do countless times throughout the series). Supergenius Intelligence while in Duty Mode (Far more competent and responsive than before, having lust for knowledge. Came to the conclusion that Zim was a threat to the mission, viewing his intellect and skills as something that would hinder the mission completely. Seeing him as nothing but "stupid". Drained a lot of human minds and obtained immense amount of Knowledge about the world, which would include notable Supergenius individuals such as Doctor Membrane. These were as a result necessary methods and plans he had quickly made in order to successfully take over the world, something his master has been failing to achieve miserably[7])

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Vehicular Mastery, Genius Intelligence while in Duty Mode, Breaking the Fourth Wall (Resisted the narrator pausing the story to narrate and ate him[8]), Cartoon Physics, Inorganic Physiology (Non-living Object; GIR is a robot made from scrapped parts. Survived losing his head, and his body can function without it), Self-Sustenance (Respiratory, Nutritional, and Restful), Time Paradox Immunity (Grandfather Paradox; Both Zim and GIR seem to remember the events of what happened during "Bad, Bad Rubber Pig" beyond what future Zim wrote to past Zim[9]), Acrobatics (Displayed superhuman jump height when Zim ordered him into his disguise[10]), Enhanced Senses (GIR is equipped with an X-Ray Enhancement[11]), Regeneration (Mid; Gir has regenerated from his head exploding[12]), Built-in Weapons & Explosion Manipulation (GIR's head is equipped with a myriad of weapons and missiles[13]), Energy Manipulation & Heat Manipulation (GIR is equipped with laser eyes[14]), Flight & Spaceflight (Zim has ordered Gir to use his jets to fly him out of many situations.[15][16] GIR could fly in space from Mars to Mercury[17]), Cosmic Awareness (Zim gave GIR a guidance system tractor allowing him to instantly find any location in the entire universe. Zim isn't aware of all locations in the universe either making this far more impressive.[18]), Dimensional Storage (Somehow able to store in a large quantity of rubber pigs within him despite his small body, along with fairly large objects[19]), Battlefield Removal (Due to being able to stuff anything in his head, he can shoot them out of his head, sending the object, being, etcetera into space), Information Analysis (Can analyze living things and inanimate objects, from species to intelligence and tell if a being is the real being or not[20] ), Technological Manipulation, Data Manipulation, Immersion, Possession and Memory Manipulation (Can drain human minds and absorb knowledge to himself, later uploaded himself to monitors.[21] Once took over Zim's entire base by accidentally uploading himself to the brain of the base, which allowed him full control of all of its contents and technology[22]), Limited Voice Manipulation (GIR's voice changes based off if he's in duty mode or not), Social Influencing (His very character, design, and innocent behavior has captured attentions from many individuals that surround him. Has shown an occasional manipulative side, having used his antics in the past to bend others to his will. There have been multiple instances where Zim has used his attractive looks and quirky personality to manipulate others in order for things to go into his favor. Even when it's plain obvious, people have been fooled by the ingenious and famous disguise GIR wears, even deceives Supergeniuses in the verse. In the Unfinished episode, The Trial, GIR managed to conquer Earth in one day, and he unexpectedly becomes a much better Invader than Zim. And unlike Zim, GIR is shown to be a benevolent leader, as humans seem to greatly respect and revere him. His song, "Peace is Nice", garnered children all over the world to hold hands helping Zim's plan come to fruition. GIR convinced an entire news network based off wanting to find the paranormal that Zim's not an alien even after Dib had direct proof recorded on tape and entering with his robot body and explaining a ridiculous story.[23] An attempt to disguise as Dib and mimic him, all the other Skoolchildren were completely fooled by the impersonation, to the point that they become convinced the real Dib is a clone and chase him into the woods), Size Manipulation (Grew to a much larger size in Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom), Self-Destruction (Is equipped with a self-destruct feature in Dib's illusionary world, however real GIR should have this too[24]).

Resistance to Mind Manipulation (GIR resisted the higher levels of the behavioral modulator until Zim placed it all the way up[25]), Time Stop (Resisted the narrator pausing the story to narrate and ate him[26])

Should have access to Equipments that Zim uses which includes: Erasure (Physical Erasure; His gnomes are equipped with a beam that completely erased Dib's cuffs, not even leaving behind a hint or trace of the cuffs[27]), Cosmic Awareness (Zim gave GIR a guidance system tractor allowing him to instantly find any location in the entire universe. Zim isn't aware of all locations in the universe either making this far more impressive.[28] His computer can track people from other planets [29]), Mind Manipulation & Perception Manipulation (Zim made special eyeballs to mind control Keef causing him to see a Squirrel as Zim, the Squirrel could even talk back from Keef's perspective.[30] Accidentally made a pimple with basic hypnotic powers that target those who see it. They are forced to obey Zim's commands and an extensive trance can make the targets forget what happened when it's over. Managed to control Dib and an entire school building with it.[31] Equipped with a power amplifier that amplified GIR creating waves of stupidness that turn people braindead [32]), Size Manipulation (Zim shrunk himself to a small size to go within Dib's body and control his nerves[33]), Extrasensory Perception (Zim is equipped with goggles that allow him to see all germs and microscopic beings[34]), Water Manipulation (Planned out and made a huge space station during a preparation sequence of 2 days which also involved him finding a way to get around his weakness to water and ending with him making a large water balloon that was resistant to the effects of atmospheric re-entry and could easily destroy meteors in it's way along with satellites, ending with it flooding the entire city [35]), Teleportation, Battlefield Removal, Space-Time Manipulation, & Time Travel (Zim creates a space-time transport device to send objects into the past to replace it with other objects [36]), Retrocognition (With Zim's space-time transport device he can view one's past[37]), Fragrance Manipulation, Transmutation & Biological Manipulation (Was going to pull Dib's organs out of his body in his space station.[38] With a special tack created by Zim that at first causes the user to smell like bologna, and then rewrite their biological makeup to be bologna, bloating the being up until they eventually become a giant piece of bologna[39]), Sound Manipulation (Zim has a device that's able to change his voice[40]), Flight (Has a space suit that allows him to both breathe in space and is equipped with jets.[41] Zim gains access to Mars as an entire vehicle that he can use to travel with and collide into objects[42]), Invisibility (With the Megadoomer X-3 Combat Stealth Mech, the mech can go completely invisible[43]), Memory Manipulation (Zim swapped a police officer's mind with a squid's mind, making him have false memories such as being able to produce ink[44]), Illusion Creation (Standard Illusions; Trapped an unaware Dib in a realistic illusion comparable to that of the original universe, where Dib had been bestowed powers by an unknown alien species to which he had later declared war against the Irken race. Throughout the episode he has been aging and experiencing his entire life up until he grew old, where he had been convinced that it was all real. Once he admitted he threw a muffin at Zim, the people around him turned into Zim, to which they all laughed at him. Once the illusion was over, Dib was back to his normal age[45]), Technological Manipulation & Statistics Amplification (Zim programmed his suit to steal energy from other technology to amplify his own strength[46]), Time Manipulation (Zim suspended Dib in a variable time stasis field allowing him to control him moving in a state of slowed and fast time, after a massive explosion Dib was stuck in a state of slowed time[47]), Absorption (Created something capable of absorbing infinite energy), Teleportation (Irkens also have teleportation technology. This is shown in the episodes "The Nightmare Begins" when the Announcer tells the Irkens to take the complimentary teleporters to Conventia's surface,[48] and in "Bloaty's Pizza Hog" when Gaz takes a teleporter to Zim's Space Station[49]), Summoning (Can summon the Star Donkey), Causality Manipulation (Merged parallel worlds by going back into an alternate timeline to kill off the other Zims, even though Dib told him that's not how parallel universes work).
Resistance to Disease Manipulation (With a bunch of burgers made out of napkins, Zim is completely germ free and no germs can come on him[50])

Other

Standard Tactics: GIR is a wild card due to his very unintelligent nature, being completely unpredictable on what he'll do.

Weaknesses: Is too naïve and innocent to fight properly, and without Zim to command him, he's useless in the battlefield (Although in Duty Mode, those no longer become an issue). His low intelligence overall hinders his performance in a battle. Once locked in Duty Mode, GIRs behavior shifts to a more bloodlusted nature. Is capable of being easily distracted by other things and not focusing.
