| Travis Touchdown is the protagonist and anti-hero of the No More Heroes series. He is introduced as a 27-year-old American assassin and stereotypical otaku – his motel room decorated with professional wrestling, video games and anime/manga collectibles – living in near poverty in the Motel "NO MORE HEROES" of Santa Destroy accompanied by his kitten Jeane (most likely named after his lost love). He appears to have an interest in lucha libre, video games, Japanese pro wrestling icons, and anime; his favorite being a moe-driven anime series called Pure White Lover Bizarre Jelly. | ||

No More Heroes 1 | |||
Travis Touchdown's past is somewhat explored in the first game, where it is at times deliberately (and humorously) muddled and filled with stereotypes. His parents were killed when he was young, apparently by his love (and in actuality, the daughter of Touchdown's father and another woman), Jeane, who had a traumatic and complex past, leaving Touchdown on his own. He had an older twin brother, Henry, he never knew, who apparently grew up in Ireland. Travis has apparently had interest in being a pro wrestler at one point and practiced the use of the sword via a mixture of his trainer Thunder Ryu's teachings, correspondence courses and videotapes. | |||
One night after winning a beam katana in an online auction, Touchdown meets Sylvia Christel in the local Death Match bar, where Christel ushers him into joining the United Assassins Association, so long as he can qualify by killing the eleventh ranked assassin, Helter-Skelter. Having run out of money to buy video games, he accepts the job and easily snags UAA rank eleven. Nonplussed that he has now made himself a target for aspiring assassins, Touchdown only agrees to set out and secure himself as number one in the UAA when Christel teases him with the possibility of sex, so long as he can reach the top. | |||
After defeating the nine assassins above him, killing all of them except for one, the final assassin, Dark Star, claims to be his father in a manner reminiscent of Darth Vader from Star Wars. However, he is subsequently killed by Travis' half-sister, Jeane, who details how she had previously murdered his parents because of his father's sexual abuse. Travis and Jeane engage in a climactic battle, with Jeane's mixed martial arts skills proving very formidable. Travis is nearly killed by Jeane when she lands a punch through his chest, but is saved by Shinobu, whom he had spared. After Travis and Jeane share some final words with one another, Travis kills her, and becomes the highest ranked assassin of the UAA. | |||
After the fight with Jeane, while in the bathroom, Ermen Palmer attempts to kill him while defenseless, presumably to take his rank as an assassin; in the game's "real" ending, Henry slices Ermen in half before he could harm Travis and challenges him to a fight outside the motel. The game ends as they dramatically jump towards each other, presumably to finish each other off. However, it is revealed that both Henry and Travis seem to be dissatisfied with the fight since Sylvia had interrupted it before one could kill the other. | |||
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle | |||
Three years pass and despite Travis having withdrawn from the ranks of the UAA, Santa Destroy continues recognizing him as a hero, thanks to whom the city "has never been safer," even erecting a statue in his honor. Some referred to him as The Crownless King or the "No More Hero" as a result of this, and he is seen in graffiti as a figure similar to Che Guevara. It is during this time that Touchdown and his friends become targeted by members of the Mafia. Mentor Randall Lovikov is slain, and after a preliminary Ranking Battle against Skelter Helter, Travis's best friend Bishop Shidux's death follows. An enraged Travis fixates himself on reassuming first rank in the UAA to both avenge his friend and claim Christel once and for all. | |||
After making his way through the ranked fights and killing the hitmen responsible for murdering Bishop, Touchdown slays Jasper Batt Jr., the wealthy entrepreneur responsible for Bishop's death, and sometime afterward, locates Christel where she presumably disappeared to work in a brothel. The two rekindle their relationship, becoming lovers and the pair return to Santa Destroy, and later marrying at some point, where they had two children: Hunter and Jeane. | |||
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes | |||
In Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, taking place seven years after the events of the second game, Travis - now 37 years old - has isolated himself and lives in a camper in a forest in Texas, where he spends his time playing video games. Travis is attacked by Badman, an assassin who seeks retribution for the death of his daughter Bad Girl, whom Travis killed in the first game. However, during Badman's attempted ambush of Travis, the two accidentally awake a dormant video game console in Travis' possession - the "Death Drive MK-II". The console reacts to Badman's Death Ball, and the two get transported into the video game that's contained in it. Travis and Badman learn from the console's AI construct, Death & Drive, that the unreleased console was created by Dr. Juvenile, and completing the six Death Balls that contain the only games developed for the console will grant its player one wish. The two form a truce, opting to team up to locate every Death Ball, and defeat all of the games, in order to resurrect Bad Girl. | |||
In the last seven years, Travis had married former UAA confidant Sylvia Christel, and had two children, though he abandoned his family for their safety, as assassins kept showing up to battle Travis. In his search for the Death Balls, Travis ends up traversing the planet and meeting characters from other Suda51 games, such as Kamui Uehara from The Silver Case, and Mondo Zappa from Killer Is Dead. Travis also receives information about Dr. Juvenile and her past through fax messages from her purported husband, learning that Juvenile is a war orphan with genius intellect and an affinity for video games, who was hired by the US government to develop advanced technology. She also implemented elements of her history and upbringing into the Death Drive's games, such as basing the murderous Doppelganger on her adoptive father. Travis learns that the "Death Drive MK-II" was designed as a machine that would create clones of its users, and that while it was initially intended for space travel, the government had re-purposed it to be a super soldier program - a prospect which caused Juvenile to sabotage the project in an act of defiance and go into hiding. Despite this, the mother machine responsible for its protocols still lays dormant within the CIA, and Travis is warned that completing all six Death Ball games will cause it to reboot, allowing the government to continue developing super soldiers. He is also alerted that should it be reactivated; Juvenile would destroy the United States in retaliation for everything she had been put through during her service to the government. | |||
Despite warnings, Travis and Badman successfully complete every Death Ball; however, one of the games - Killer Marathon - turns out to be an incomplete version of the game. As such, when they wish for Bad Girl's resurrection, she ends up being resurrected in the form of a dog. Travis later ends up locating a prototype for a Death Ball which, rather than transporting him into a video game, transports him directly into the CIA. Massacring his way through the facility he locates the Death Drive mother machine which is being guarded by Dr. Juvenile, who has infiltrated the facility and taken the form of "White Sheepman". Travis, expressing respect for her talents and sympathy for her suffering, reluctantly battles and ultimately defeats her. He interacts with the mother machine and is transported to Mars, where he meets John Winter, the creator of the very original Death Drive and Juvenile's mentor. Winter explains that he retired to Mars to escape Earth's problems, and safeguards the planet, opposing the government's plans to emigrate there. He offers Travis the opportunity to stay on Mars and live a "perfect life". Travis declines, realizing that he can't abandon his past, and deciding to face his problems head on. Winter responds by decapitating Travis, as the only way for him to return is to "die". | |||
Back on Earth, Travis is approached by his self-proclaimed pupil, Shinobu Jacobs, who asks him to return from hiding, as the assassins await. Travis concurs, desiring bloodshed. In a playable post-credits segment, Travis is controlled from a third person perspective similar to the previous No More Heroes games, set in a default Unreal Engine level. While attempting to approach a dummy, Travis berates the player for treating the area like a game, saying that they're currently "in development". | |||
Following the events of the main campaign, Travis and Shinobu are intercepted by Travis' twin brother Henry, who is now part of an enigmatic order with a vendetta against Travis. Travis and Shinobu prepare to battle against his subordinates before they're interrupted by a pair of villainous alien lucha libre wrestlers bent on world domination, and a self-proclaimed superhero named "Notorious". When Travis questions the sudden presence of the new characters, Shinobu wonders whether they are foreshadowing "the next game". The standoff is once again interrupted, this time by Death & Drive, who are seeking revenge against Travis. He manages to beat them in a game of Fire Pro Wrestling, obtaining the location of the completed version of the Killer Marathon Death Ball, which is in the possession of Travis' wife, Sylvia Christel. Travis returns to her estate, obtaining the Death Ball and reconnecting with his daughter and wife in the process. After beating the completed version of Killer Marathon, Travis and Badman successfully resurrect Bad Girl. Travis also sees a glimpse of the Death Drive mother machine, which states that coding has been completed. | |||
No More Heroes III | |||
In No More Heroes III, the main antagonist Jess Baptiste VI, also known as Fu, crash landed onto Earth and met Damon Riccitiello as a kid. The two formed a powerful bond and worked together to build a spaceship for FU to use to return home. Before he left, he informed Damon that he would return in twenty years to reunite with Damon. | |||
Taking place nine years after the events of No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle and two years after the events of Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, Travis - now 39 years old - returns from his self-imposed exile to Santa Destroy, as he must defend the world from an alien invasion of an incredibly powerful army led by a fully matured galactic overlord prince Fu. Learning of the current situation, he must take on and defeat this legion of super-powered beings from outer space who go under the persona of superheroes in order to save the world. | |||
Soon after the invasion begun, and the ranks were created, Mr.Blackhole would attack Travis' motel, provoking him and fellow assassins Shinobu Jacobs and Badgirl. This would lead to Travis attacking Mr.Blackhole's ship and challenging him directly. After fighting Mr.Blackhole twice, killing him the second time, Travis would officially enter the Galactic Rankings. | |||
Not long after the death of Mr.Blackhole, FU would confront Travis directly and fight him, ultimately incapacitating Shinobu Jacobs for most of the game, and killing Badman. This left Badgirl distraught and unable to assist Travis for most of the game, leaving Travis to climb the ranks by his lonesome up until facing FU at the number one rank. | |||
At the number eight rank, Travis confronts and defeats a strange warrior named the Native Dancer, revealed later to be named Scott, who had killed Black Knight Direction before Travis could, angering him. It's at this point Travis receives the rest of his Death Glove abilities and spares his first opponent of the game for reasons unknown to even Travis himself. | |||
After successfully reaching the second rank, Travis is confronted by his brother, Henry Cooldown, who wishes to kill Travis. After their duel, Travis kills Henry, but is later ambushed in the bathroom by another Henry who manages to kill Travis once and for all. Soon after, Deathman is seen at a table alongside Travis, explaining that Travis wasn't supposed to die yet and kills him to return him to the real world. | |||
Travis, now resurrected, meets up with all of friends to face FU at the number one rank. After a long battle, Travis and co successfully defeat Fu, who attempts to escape, but is killed by Damon. Travis, recognizing Damon, fights him in a Rollout Model before the two face each other head on outside the universe in Sumo. Travis ultimately wins between the two and has successfully saved the planet. | |||
With the invasion over, Travis and friends can now properly mourn the death of Badman. To send him of, they release his ashes out into sea. Soon after, Fu's father, Jess Baptiste V, arrives at Earth to negotiate a peace treaty, but fails after mistaken Travis for Earth's representative and threatens to destroy the planet. Before he could however, Jess is killed by two warriors revealed to be Travis's daughter Jeane Touchdown and Henry Touchdown, who, alongside the former's son. Scott, who Travis had fought previously, traveled from the future to warn Travis of Henry Cooldown who is planning on destroying the world. Travis and friends are left in shock, as the game ends on a cliché cliffhanger. | |||

Death Glove NMH3 Artwork.png|Death Glove | |||
</gallery> | |||
Death Glove: A glove designed by and based around Dr. Juvenile's Death Drive MK II. The glove can grant Travis abilities such as slowing down time, summoning turrets, teleporting Travis, and telekinetically throwing foes. Along with that, the Death Glove can summon several suits of Armor on Travis, teleport beings into the Death Drive itself, enhance Travis' abilities, and more. | |||

<div class="scrollable" style="overflow:auto; max-height:600px; width:{100%}; -moz-border-radius-topleft:0.5em; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding-left:0.5em; background:transparent;"> | |||
*Death Blow: A Death Blow is the most common method of dealing a killing blow to an enemy, excluding ranked assassins. When dealing the killing blow to an enemy, an arrow is displayed on the screen. Successful Death Blows cause slots at the bottom of the screen to start to spin. Matching three of these slot icons activates one of five different trances, or Dark Side Modes, depending on which three slot icons have been matched. | |||
<br> | |||
<font size=4> No More Heroes </font> | |||
<br> | |||
*Dark Side Mode: Dark Side Mode refers to the trance that can be activated by matching three slot icons at the bottom of the screen, following a successful Death Blow. There are five different trances that can be assumed, each of which depend on the three slot icons that have been matched. Dark Side Mode ends when the tiger displayed at the top of the screen reaches its goal; this time limit can also be extended by learning the Technique of God from Randall Lovikov. | |||
**Strawberry on the Shortcake: Move like lightning, instantly obliterating all in your path. | |||
**Blueberry Cheese Brownie: Move the targeting reticle with the Control Stick and fire waves of energy with the A button to annihilate foes. | |||
**Cranberry Chocolate Sundae: Brutalize surrounding enemies one by one by matching the on-screen inputs. | |||
**Anarchy in the Galaxy: Pressing the - Button activates an enormous explosion, liquidating all enemies in the area. You can hold a total of three stocks. | |||
**Cherry: Enemies' movement is slowed, allowing you to cleanly strike them down. | |||
<br> | |||
<font size=4> No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle </font> | |||
<br> | |||
*Ecstasy Mode: After fighting for a while, Travis will get excited and have an adrenaline rush that enhances his strength and speed and slowing down his perception for a short period of time. (Unlike Dark Side Mode, he can use this technique at any time, and doesn't need to perform any specific move in order to do so) | |||
---- | |||
*Wrestling Moves: Wrestling Moves within the No More Heroes series are one of Travis Touchdown's renowned skills. They are learned as a result of both Travis's experience to become a pro wrestler and since wrestling is a favorite hobby of his. They allow Travis to easily take down and subdue the enemy, allowing an easy Down Attack, or they can be utilized as a instant kill. | |||
<br> | |||
<font size=4> No More Heroes </font> | |||
<br> | |||
*Take Down Moves: Take Down moves describe themselves; they are wrestling moves that only subdue the enemy, to allow an easier kill. These are used primarily on weaker foes or opponents with low health. | |||
**Dragon Suplex: Travis will grab the enemy from behind, placing them in a Full Nelson headlock, and then bends his back to the floor with full force, severely damaging the head and neck. | |||
**Brain Buster: Travis will tuck the opponent's head under his armpit, hoists them up, and then falls back onto the floor, slamming their head into the ground. | |||
**Butt Thump: Travis will grab the enemy's face, places them on his shoulder, and then bends and rolls the enemy back, slamming the enemy's face with his buttcheek. | |||
**Arm and Head Suplex: Used against Death Metal. Travis will tuck and squeeze the opponent's neck underneath his armpit, and then will suplex straight to the floor, crushing the enemy's back and disrupting breathing. | |||
**Double Underhook Suplex: Used against Dr. Peace. Travis will bend the enemy forward, locks his arms through the armpits, and then flips back, falling onto the opponent's upper body. | |||
**Capture Suplex: Used against Shinobu. Travis will grab the enemy by the leg and back of the neck, and suplexes backward, slamming the enemy in the back. | |||
*Fatal Moves: Fatal Moves are maneuvered wrestling moves that allow strategic timing of the beam katana to fall onto the enemy or to allow Travis to easily grab the beam katana and follow up quickly, killing the enemy within the move. | |||
**Tombstone Piledriver: Travis will grab and spin the enemy in the air, turning them upside down, and then will place the enemy between his legs, crushing their head. The Beam Katana will fall onto the enemy. | |||
**Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker Drop: Learned from Mask De Panther, the Tiger's Roar. Travis will grab the opponent by the torso, and spins the opponent onto their back, with them landing onto Travis' knee and impaled by the Beam Katana. | |||
**Suplex Powerslam: Learned from Living Legend, Thunder Ryu. Travis will bend himself and the opponent forward, with Travis tucking his head underneath the opponent's arm. Travis will lift up and turn around 180 degrees, then falls face first and slamming the opponent face down onto the ground, and finishes by poking the enemy's head with the katana. | |||
**Frankensteiner: Learned from Mask De Panther, Master of the 4th Dimension. Travis will come from behind, leap up onto the enemy's shoulders, swings around, clutches the head with his legs, and flips onto his belly, with the enemies' head slamming on the floor. Travis grabs his Beam Katana and cuts the opponents' belly. | |||
**Powerbomb: Learned from Thunder Ryu's 7th match. Travis will grab the head of the enemy, forcing them to bend forward, flips them on their back, hoists by their stomach, and slams them the precise moment the beam katana will land. | |||
**German Suplex: Travis will come in from behind, clutching the enemy's torso, and then bends back with full force, dropping and slamming the enemy on the head. The Beam Katana will then fall onto the head of the enemy. Travis used a non-lethal version of this on Destroyman. The German Suplex returns in Desperate Struggle. | |||
**Belly-to-Belly Suplex: Travis will reach in and hug the enemy, then bends backwards and falls onto the floor while landing on the opponent, crushing their upper body. The beam katana falls onto the opponent's crotch. | |||
**Trap Suplex: Travis will hug into the opponent's arms, which are wrapped around Travis's waist, snapping the elbows out of place, and then will suplex back, falling onto the upper body. The beam katana will land straight into the chest. | |||
**Northern Light Suplex: Travis bends the opponent forward, extending both arms, and places himself underneath the opponent. He then flips back, crushing the right shoulder joint. The beam katana will then land into the opponent's lung. | |||
**Tiger Suplex: Travis comes behind the opponent, will lock the opponent's arms behind their back, and will flip backwards, slamming them on the head. The beam katana then falls onto their face. The Tiger Suplex also returns in Desperate Struggle. | |||
<br> | |||
<font size=4> No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle </font> | |||
<br> | |||
*Deathblows: Wrestling throws are now "deathblows" that activate after attacking the opponent with Beat Attacks rather than Slash Combos. Depending on the size of the opponent, Travis will perform different attacks. | |||
**Twisted Belly to Back Suplex: Already learned from the Weekly Backdrops #1. Touchdown comes at his target fromt the left, makes contact and moves behind the opponent, grabs their torso. He hoists them up then dropping them on the head behind him. The beam katana lands into the opponent's rectum. | |||
**High Angle Suplex: Coming from right, Travis places himself underneath the opponent's armpit, clutches the waist and then suplexes back, elevating them and aiming for the opponent's neck and shoulders. The beam katana will land onto the stomach. | |||
**Spinning Backdrop Finisher: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #3. Coming to the side of the opponent, Travis clutches at the waist and leg, lifting them onto his shoulder, before making a 180 degree turn to smash the upper body. | |||
**Leg Hook Belly to Back Suplex: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #4. Touchdown comes to the side of the opponent, and secures his arms around the leg and waist, lifting them up with frightening ease. At a high enough altitude, he drops them backwards down as the beam katana impales their belly. | |||
**Backdrop Finisher: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #5. Coming to the left of the opponent, Travis clutches at the waist. While lifting them up, Travis gradually tilts and flips the opponent until they are upside down, crashing them face first into the ground, stunning them as the beam katana pins them in the upper rectum. | |||
**Tiger driver '98: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #6, Tiger Driver Limited Edition. Travis bends the opponent forward, and locks their arms behind their upturned back, before lifting them up and then slamming them into the ground, backrolling out before the beam katana lands into their face. | |||
**Shin Breaker to Suplex: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #7. Coming to the side, Travis will clutch at the opponent's waist, while his left arm holds a kneeled left shin. Travis then falls back and uses the momentum to overtly bend the knee while slamming them to the ground. | |||
**Gutwrench Suplex: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #8. Facing the side of the opponent, Travis will clutch at their torso before suplexing back and driving their head into the ground at an awkward angle. As they lay on their sides, the beam katana falls into the ribs. | |||
**Modified Tombstone Piledriver: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #9. Travis grabs the opponent, turns them upside down, places them onto his shoulder, and then jumps up, slamming the enemy's upper back onto the floor. The Beam Katana lands onto the opponent's waist. | |||
**Giant Swing: Learned from the Weekly Backdrops #10, Giant Swing Kickass Edition. Facing the enemy, they will attempt to grab him, but Travis will retaliate back by going for their legs and forcing them onto the ground, before spinning them and himself and throwing the enemy during a breakneck velocity. As the enemy lays paralyzed from the neck down, the beam katana lands into their chest. | |||

Standard Tactics: | Standard Tactics: Travis prefers to fight in close quarters by slashing at his opponent with his beam katana(s) and suplexing his foes when given the opportunity. Travis also tries to read his opponent's attack patterns in order to dodge their attacks and attack them with an onslaught of attacks before performing a death blow. With his Death Glove, Travis will use death abilities to alter his attack patterns. | ||

PEOPLE SHED BLOOD AND DIE. THIS ISN'T A GAME! You can't just selfishly use DEATH as your tool! This...is ALICE'S BLOOD! I bet you already forgot she existed! The same way you would've forgotten me! And THAT'S why I'm tearing down the UAA! | „ |
~ Travis Touchdown to Sylvia Christel |
“ | People ask me, "What is the meaning of killing if you're risking your own life?" It doesn't 'mean' shit. It's about instinct, not meaning. That spark lights up in your brain. And that sweet, sweet dopamine starts to flow... | „ |
~ Travis Touchdown |
“ | But don't you worry, a hero descends. What, there are no heroes in this world? Oh, but there totally are. My name is Travis Touchdown, I'm the last hero around, here to save the world. I'm also just a passing assassin. Now let's do this, start the game! | „ |

~ Travis upon activating his armor |

No More Heroes 1 Travis Touchdown's past is somewhat explored in the first game, where it is at times deliberately (and humorously) muddled and filled with stereotypes. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Three years pass and despite Travis having withdrawn from the ranks of the UAA, Santa Destroy continues recognizing him as a hero, thanks to whom the city "has never been safer," even erecting a statue in his honor. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes In Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, taking place seven years after the events of the second game, Travis - now 37 years old - has isolated himself and lives in a camper in a forest in Texas, where he spends his time playing video games. No More Heroes III In No More Heroes III, the main antagonist Jess Baptiste VI, also known as Fu, crash landed onto Earth and met Damon Riccitiello as a kid. |
