Roll (ロール Rōru) is a kind-hearted humanoid robot created by Dr. Light to be a housekeeper, helping around Dr. Light's Laboratory by cleaning and cooking. Roll is like a younger sister to Mega Man. Her dream is to one day open a hospital to help people in need.
This dropdown contains the synopsis of Roll’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise! |

Mega Man, Mega Man 3 & Mega Man 4 Roll has a small appearance in the ending of these three games, and is mentioned in the opening scene of Mega Man 4. Mega Man V Roll appears in the opening scene. Mega Man 7 Roll appears in the opening and ending scenes of the game, and will also appear randomly in the get weapon description in the Japanese version. Mega Man 8 Roll exchanges gadgets in Dr. Light's Lab for Mega Man to use for the right prices of bolts. She appears in the opening scene, and in the intro she interrupts the battle between Mega Man and Bass via a hovering vehicle to head a distress signal by Dr. Light. In the ending scene, Roll hugs Mega Man, happy that he is alright. Mega Man & Bass Roll uses a communicator to give tips on the stage and CD locations for the player. Roll also makes an appearance in Mega Man's ending, giving King's letter of an apology to Mega Man. Mega Man 9 Roll appears in the opening and ending scenes, and with Auto in cutscenes during the game and the shop screen. Her dress changes to how it looked in Mega Man 8 when the player purchases certain items. Mega Man 10 Roll winds up as a victim of the Roboenza virus which had caught on throughout the robotic world. Consequently, she remains sick throughout the events of the entire game. Mega Man himself later catches the disease and the medicine-making machine is stolen by Dr. Wily. Roll, in an effort to save his life, then gives Mega Man her medicine which she had saved for later, telling him that he is the only one who can stop Wily. She was later cured along with the other infected robots. Mega Man 11 Roll is seen in the game's opening cutscene helping Dr. Light carry out the annual maintenance check-ups for all the robots. In the game, she assists Auto with running the shop, where she handles the Item/Support section. Additionally, Roll appears in the game's ending where she is the first to notice that Dr. Light had installed the Double Gear System into Auto, which Dr. Light admits he did so, but only while Auto repairs the eight Robot Masters so their abilities would not go to waste. Eventually, Auto starts slowing down as the Double Gear System's effect on his body wears off (which she teases him for) and claims that they will have to "pick up his pieces" if they make him go faster. Rockman & Forte Mirai Kara no Chōsensha: Roll appears in the ending of the game. She is also the shopkeeper in Bass's story. Mega Man: The Power Battle Roll appears in Mega Man's ending. Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters Roll was kidnapped by Dr. Wily's robots and the player(s) must rescue her. After defeating a certain boss in the "Rescue Roll!" chapter, Roll will be rescued and she, to show her thanks for being saved, will give the player(s) the new parts that she stole from the Wily robot which will upgrade the energy of their Special Weapons. Depending on who rescued her, she'll apologize for causing worry (Mega Man), note that he'll always be there to save her (Proto Man), express glee at being saved (Duo) or ponder whether to trust her savior (Bass). In addition, with the exception of Bass, her supplying the new parts will have her expressing glee (with Bass, her facial expression is closer to that of bafflement). Upon the destruction of Wily's fortress, Roll can be seen flying on top of the Rush Jet in the left before each character ending, possibly signifying her rescue, and she supports Mega Man in his ending as well as his cooperative mode ending with Proto Man. RockBoard Roll appears as a playable character for the first time. Her goal is to build a hospital to help all the sick and injured people in the world.[4] Mega Man's Soccer Roll appears in the opening scene and shortly carrying a banner with Kalinka that says "congartulations" ("congratulations" misspelled) in the end of a match from Tournament Mode. In the unused Tournament Mode ending , accessible only by using a "Game Genie", she comes with a bouquet of red roses for the winning team leader while Kalinka comes with the trophy. Mega Man: Battle & Chase Roll is a playable character. At first she only wanted to encourage Mega Man, but decided to participate in the Battle & Chase contest. In her ending she loses the prize money while saving a dog's life from a possible fate of being roadkilled. If Roll wins the Battle & Chase competition without losing a single race, a karaoke of her theme song Kaze yo Tsutaete will appear after her ending scene in the Japanese version. Super Adventure Rockman Roll was affected by the electromagnetic field from Lanfront Ruins, and will shut down permanently if Mega Man can't stop Dr. Wily and his 16 revived Robot Masters from Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3. Mega Man Powered Up Roll is a playable character as a download. She also appears a lot more often than she did in her unnamed appearance in the original Mega Man, as she appears in every New Style Story of every playable character (including Proto Man), can be seen in the stage select screen of either the Old or New Style modes, and she appears as the host for the Construction Mode of the game, even going as far to give tutorials for first-time players who are constructing their own levels. When playing as Roll, one can battle the Copy Robot using her form, this being the closest she has come to being a boss in a classic-style game. Roll also has several downloadable clothes. This game also introduces an ability called Roll Swing, replacing the "Roll Buster" from spinoff titles. By default, she swings a broom, although she'll swing other objects if she is wearing a costume. Mega Man: Anniversary Collection Roll appears as a navigator in the Navi Mode for Mega Man 2 of Mega Man: Anniversary Collection and Rockman Complete Works. |
Name: Roll, DLN-002
Origin: Mega Man
Sex: Female
Age: Unknown
Classification: Robot Master
Species: Robot
Occupation: Lab Assistant for Doctor Thomas Light
Status: Alive, Unknown in the X Series (Takes place many years in the future where the fate of prior classic series characters are unknown, with it being implied their data still exists as Cut Man's data exists still)
Alignment: Lawful Good (Likes Mega Man upholds for peace and will follow the rules placed by the laws of robotics)
Tier: At most High 6-A, Higher with Rage Power, Far Higher with Charge Shots
Cardinality: Finite
Dimensionality: 3-D
Attack Potency: At most Multi-Continent level (Potency) (Can defeat several Robot Masters, Yellow Devil, and Wily Machine Number 1 twice which can all harm Mega Man. Can deal more damage against bosses than Mega Man (Comparison). Mega Man was able to fight on par with beings such as Duo, whose fight with Evil Robot caused a cloud explosion on Jupiter which was at this level), Higher with Rage Power (When Robot Masters are damaged to about half their health, they become invulnerable for a few seconds and perform more powerful attacks), Far Higher with Charged Shots (Can destroy blocks that Mega Man can't and can do heavier damage to bosses)
Durability: At most Multi-Continent level (Can take hits from Robot Masters, Yellow Devil, and Wily Machine Number 1 who can all harm Mega Man. Scales to Mega Man)
Striking Strength: At most Multi-Continent Class (Potency), Higher with Rage Power
Lifting Strength: Class G (The Robot Masters are normally made to be on par or superior to Mega Man, who was able to hold up Dr. Wily's fortress at end of Mega Man 5, with Robot Masters such as Guts Man being superior in strength and Robot Masters such as Splash Woman having comparable feats such as lifting entire ships from the ocean)
Travel Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Is comparable to Mega Man, who can keep up with Duo, who can travel around the earth destroying evil energy around this timeframe), Faster Than Light with Teleporters (Robot Masters teleporters should scale to Mega Man and Proto Man’s teleportation, where they are able to travel planets and solar systems in a short time frame[1], reaching this levels of speed)
Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Can keep up with several Robot Masters and Wily Machine Number 1. Can keep up with Mega Man, who can keep up with Duo in combat who uses attacks that involve his travel speed)
Reaction Speed: Massively Hypersonic Can keep up with Mega Man, who can keep up with Duo in combat who uses attacks that involve his travel speed)
Stamina: Essentially Limitless as long as they are powered by solar energy (All Robot Masters bodies are powered by solar energy, effectively giving them limitless stamina and ammo[2][3][4][5])
Range: Standard Melee, Extended Melee with attacks like broom, Hundreds of Meters with Roll-Buster and Items, Interplanetary with Teleporters (All robot masters naturally display teleportation through teleporters interplanetary distances[6])
Intelligence: Gifted Intelligence (Is able to defeat several robot masters and Dr. Wily in combat to save to world without even needing repairs. Is able to fight and defeat herself. She is a very skillful lab assistant made by Dr. Light)
Resistance to Extreme Heats, Extreme Colds, & Weather Manipulation (Robot Masters are made to withstand extreme terrains and weather conditions), Mind Manipulation and Metaphysics Manipulation (Soul Manipulation; Despite how active Robot Masters are they do not actually possess the feeling to think, feel, and make decisions of their own as this level of technology wasn't realized until the reploids of the X era. Along with Reploids having something closer to a human soul then any robot Robot Master has. Robot Masters have a "consciousness" though it is different from the standard humans consciousness as it's at the level of a "cognitive circuit" embedded inside each one of them[17]), Cosmic Radiations (All Robot Masters can breathe and survive in space just fine, with an entire game revolving around traveling through space[18]), Information Manipulation & Conceptual Manipulation (Can take hits from characters that can directly interact with, harm, and destroy a robots data, which all robots "true existences" rely on their data, thus as long as their data is stored they can be remade or come back if their data is specifically "SAVED". All data resides in the deep log of each game's data and information of the Mega Man Franchise and many other Capcom franchises, with it being stated that data makes up the characters' personality, memories are data pieces that can be used to materialize hunter programs and also have the feelings of the characters, their data is even what determines their own canonicity in reality, with all characters being considered data alongside all universes being made of data. With data further being explored through here), Plot Manipulation (As data determines one's canonicity in reality and all universes are made of data, one would need to fully change one's data in order to change their narrative. With data further being explored through here), Electricity Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from electricity based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Heat Manipulation & Fire Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from heat and fire based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it and survive the intense heats), Magma Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from magma based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Ice Manipulation & Absolute Zero (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from ice based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it, even with ice as cold as absolute zero), Gravity Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from gravity based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Black Holes (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from black hole based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Petrification (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from petrification based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it, with the petrification being potent enough to effect black holes), Acid Manipulation & Corrosion Inducement (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from acid & corrosive based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Transmutation (Robot Masters and others are unaffected by the effects of the the mystery tank, which turns all weak enemies on screen into extra lives), Space-Time Manipulation & BFR (Robot masters are able to tank and survive attacks from the likes of Centaur Flash, which creates a dimensional distortion where he warps space and sends an opponent into a black hole, with even Robot Masters that have a weakness to it surviving its hits and not being sent into a black hole. Robot Masters can also take hits from Cut Man who can cut through space itself and leave dimensional tears that he can jump in)
