Vs. Susie

Background

Susie is a deuteragonist of Deltarune and the monster Hero of Light that The Prophecy speaks of.

Being an ax wielder and having the most health, Susie takes the role of the party's tank. At the beginning of Chapter 1, she prefers solving conflicts with violence, and always attacks the enemy on top. Early on, Kris and Ralsei can ACT and warn enemies of Susie's attack, making her miss. Susie can also be put to sleep using Ralsei's lullaby, though she wakes up if she takes damage.

Susie frequently makes fun of Ralsei, and eventually joins Lancer and turns against Kris and Ralsei. She does not seem much nicer at the point of rejoining the party, although she assures Lancer that this does not mean they are no longer friends after he shows doubts.

Lancer later betrays the party, which angers Susie. However, after getting into a fight with a reluctant Lancer, she misses on purpose, and promises to resolve the encounter with King peacefully after facing the possibility of upsetting Lancer by hurting King. She joins the party for real, promising to cooperate and is willing to ACT if Kris tells her what to do. She also threatens King when he threatens to throw Lancer off the castle, allowing Lancer to break free of his grip. She then strikes King with her ax when he threatens Kris after the latter uses their shield to block one of King's attacks intended for her.

Once Susie and Kris are about to head back to the Light World after defeating King peacefully, Kris has two choices on what to do. If they head towards the fountain, Susie pleads with them to at least say goodbye to Ralsei and all the Darkners first, indicating she misses their company. If they don't accept, Susie stops them from leaving anyway by telling them that they're lying and that they should at least say goodbye to Lancer first. Alternatively, if they immediately head back to the left instead, Susie expresses surprise, but is happy nonetheless and willing to say goodbye to the Darkners. Once Susie and Kris leave the Dark World, she suggests that they both go back the next day.

Attack Potency: At least Human level (Susie has greater physical strength than a human like Kris due to being a monster), Higher with Natural Weaponry (Has jagged teeth strong enough to bite through chalk and supposedly could bite through Kris' skull), likely Multi-Continent level overtime (The supposed creation of too many Dark Fountains can lead to the Roaring which will summon the Titans from the fountains to bring chaos to the land, and ultimately leave the earth in ruins) | Bone level (Susie was unable to progress past a locked door, or escape her prison cell later through physical force after being captured for most of Chapter 1. She is at least comparable to Lancer who can ram into others with enough speed to send them launching several meters), to Wall level (Could later harm and ultimately best Berdly in combat who was relatively unharmed from a roller coaster cart exploding. Bested Jevil who is regarded as comparable to Spamton[1], the latter of whom was able to destroy a large wall)

Powers and Techniques

Incoporeal Aspects (A monster's physiology is mostly composed of magic, noting that humans have a "physical form"[2], along with having their SOUL directly attuned to their body[3]), Magic (All monsters are made of magic, being able to do things like make "bullet-patter cards" with their magic[4]), Natural Weaponry & Penetration Damage (Physical Penetration; Has naturally sharp and jagged teeth capable of biting through chalk and potentially even flesh and bone), Consumption (Physical Consumption; Susie commonly eats objects like chalk without any adverse effects to her body), Sheer Will, Darkness Manipulation, Creation, & Subjective Reality (As a Lightner, Susie can create a Dark Fountain by coursing her will through a blade. Dark Fountains are made from darkness itself and can even bring objects to life such as a virtual world from spare wires and computer parts. Kris themselves later created their own dark world), BFR (Application Based; By creating a Dark Fountain, it can pull anyone within the room of the dark fountain to the Dark World).

All previous abilities plus, Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Superhuman Precision (Is able to precisely throw Ralsei into K. Round's crown to loosen it. Could throw Kris with enough accuracy that they could cut through wires), Acrobatics (Susie is capable of performing flips and sticking a landing from a several-meter fall), Non-Standard Interaction & Metaphysics Manipulation (Soul Manipulation and Essence Manipulation; Can fight and interact with monsters such as Berdly, whose body is made of magic that is attuned to his SOUL. The SOUL is the culmination of one’s very being), Hammerspace (Can store twelve items in her inventory at once and can hold an indefinite amount in her STORAGE), Penetration Damage (Metaphysical Penetration) & Weapon Mastery (Axe Usage; Susie uses a battle ax that also helps channel her magic into offensive projectiles), Extended Blade Range & Distance Negation (Attacks in Deltarune can hit targets even when not appearing to make physical contact), Energy Manipulation & Shockwave Generation (Can cast the Rude Buster spell which fires a swift projectile at opponents. Can create ax projectiles around her foes), Minor Healing (Learned how to cast healing magic and could cast the UltimateHeal spell which heals an ally for a small amount of their health), Personal Domain and BFR (When one encounters a monster they get into a fight, a FIGHT is an encounter in a monster's personal domain allowing them to fight humans, this has various rules such as turn-based combat), Social Influencing & Subjective Reality (By using the ACT Command, Kris Dreemurr can perform various actions to pacify their opponent. Susie was able to teach herself and Ralsei their own ACT command to a lesser degree), Accelerated Development (Battle; Physical Stats; Can get stronger by defeating more enemies in battle at the cost of losing their alliance), Passive Resurrection (Self-Resurrection; Resurrection from Exhaustion; Susie can revive after falling in battle with enough time), Fusionism (Fused a bunch of scrap junk together to create the Thrash Machine to challenge GIGA Queen).

Can perform various abilities with the ACT command. Can cast hypnosis alongside her team to put tougher foes asleep. Performing Pirouette can also make an opponent slightly tired each time it's used), Air Manipulation (Can cast a gust of wind powerful enough to blow away sentient dust bunnies), Statistics Amplification (Defense; The Pirouette ACT can occasionally boost the party's defense in battle. Offense; Pirouette can potentially boost an enemy's attack power in battle), Summoning (Pirouette can occasionally summon a yellow bird which indicates that no additional effects have occurred), Statistics Reduction & Empathic Manipulation (Defense; Pirouette has a chance to reduce the opponent's defense stat when used by putting them at ease), Power Modification (Pirouette has a chance of reducing the invulnerability frames by sixty percent in battle. Pirouette can occasionally swap the whole party's health around and give a boost to other members while crippling others), Healing (Pirouette can occasionally heal a single ally during battle, or even the whole party), Minor Telekinesis (Can use the JiggleJiggle ACT to wiggle her body and thereby force other objects to loosen like wires), Cloth Manipulation & Organic Manipulation (Can conjure a nurse's outfit and medication with the TakeCare ACT. Can conjure dog ears to wear when using the Order ACT), Broadway Force (Can encourage others to dance alongside her and thereby pacify them), Information Manipulation (Can block ads created by a Poppup with the Block ACT skill), Sealing (Physical; Can summon a small cage to trap foes with, or even several dozen enemies all at once).

  • Bandage: The Bandage is the default armor of Kris in Hometown.
  • Dice Brace: The Dice Brace is an armor item found in the Forest. It gives +2 DF.
  • Iron Shackle: The Iron Shackle is an armor item located in Card Castle. It gives +1 AT and +2 DF.
  • Jevilstail: Jevilstail gives +2 AT, DF and Magic.

  • Bouquet: Nice flowers.
  • Glowshard: The Glowshard is an item found hidden inside a hole in ??????. If checked in the inventory, it states its use is unknown. The Glowshard can be used in battle to immediately allow for a Rudinn to be spared. It disappears in the process.

  • Notable Techniques

    • FIGHT: Self Explanatory. Once the FIGHT option is selected, a quick-time event occurs. A cursor slides across a meter from right to left. By pressing Z anytime the cursor is within the meter, the party member successfully attacks the enemy; otherwise it results in a miss. Hitting "Z" on the box located on the leftmost area of the meter deals the most damage, which emphasizes proper timing.
    • S-Action: Susie learned how to act herself making her able to defeat enemies trought kindness.
    • Rude Buster: Requires 50% TP, 40% TP whilst having Devilsknife equipped. An attack that does moderately more damage than the standard Fight action. Deals "Rude Damage". Outshone by Red Buster during the King fight. "Deals moderate Rude-elemental damage to one foe. Depends on Attack and Magic."
    • Red Buster: Requires 60% TP. An attack that does significantly more damage than the standard Fight action. Only available as an ACT command during the King fight. Presumably depends on Attack and Magic, instead of dealing "Rude Damage" like its dwindled type, it deals "Red Damage". "Your SOUL shined its power on Susie!"
    • UltimateHeal: Requires 100% TP. A pitiful spell that restores a minimal amount of HP to a single ally. Learned around halfway through Chapter 2, though it is apparently ineffective due to Susie 'attacking' with the spell. "Heals one ally to the best of Susie's ability." Depends on susie's magic

Standard Tactics: Susie is all about strong attacks and will continuously attack an opponent without listening to Kris' orders, however, this does change depending on the route taken and she'll listen to what Kris tells her to do rather then attacking.

    Other

Weaknesses: All monsters are weak to an attack with killing intent behind it and if a monster doesn't want to fight, they are weakened greatly[46]. Though due to her natural bloodlust this doesn't affect her as much.

Note: It's revealed as of Chapter 2 that the Dark World grants people new powers and abilities, thus they do not translate over to the real world.

    Explanations

Why attacking the SOUL is essence manipulation.
