Background
Range is the concept of how far one can reach with their standard attacks or other abilities. The measurement of range comes from different units of length. It should be noted when using abilities such as Teleportation, Dimensional Travel, Reality Warping, etcetera, would count as their own range separate from one's physical range.

Range refers to how far the attacks of a certain character can efficiently reach on their own.
Below Standard Melee: 0 - 50 centimeters
* Applies to small characters.

For more information about different units of length, please see this page. However, a general guide for categorizing range has been listed below.
Standard Melee: Around 50 centimeters-1.5 meters

Standard melee range: Ranges from 1 to 3 meters
*Applies to fighters using mostly their arms and legs as weapons.
*Knives/daggers, gauntlets, and short-ranged weapons would qualify for this range.

*Applies to fighters using mostly their arms and legs as weapons
Extended Melee: Around 1.5-5 meters
*Knives/daggers, gauntlets, and short-ranged weapons would qualify for this range.

*Applies to fighters who are able to reach further ahead due to being larger than the average, or fighters who are able to extend their limbs further.
*Sword/sabers, polearms/spears.

Extended melee range: Ranges from 3 to 10 meters
Several Meters: Around 5-10 meters

*Applies to fighters who are able to reach further ahead due to being larger than the average, or fighters who are able to extend their limbs further (Ex: Dhalsim)
*Characters with type 0 Large Size.
*Sword/sabers, polearms/spears, and explosives such as a thrown grenade would qualify for this range as well.
*Explosion radius from a thrown grenade.

Tens of meters: Ranges from 10 to 100 meters
Tens of meters: Around 10-100 meters

*Applies to fighters who are much larger than normal (Ex: Giant mecha, Kaiju, etc.)
*Applies to fighters who are essentially giants.
*Most giant mecha are around 10 to 100 metres in height, thus their reach should be around there via melee.
*The distance of how far one can get an accurate shot of something with slingshot.
*The distance of how far you can accurate hit something via slingshot

Hundreds of meters: Ranges from 100 to 1000 meters
Hundreds of meters: Around 100-1000 meters

*The distance that you can reach with a bow & arrow/crossbow
*The distance that one can reach with a bow & arrow/crossbow.
