Introduction

The following page is regarding rules for discussions about profiles, whether the codex statistics section is wrong or needs to be updated, general information is wrong or needs to be updated, powers and techniques are wrong or need to be updated, etcetera.

While there used to be rule bans for specific verses, this was eventually removed as it was deemed ultimately pointless and limited overall conversation. Especially with how various rules on the site change in frequent timeframes.

General Rules

  • It is advised that if you are planning to make a thread on a topic you check to see if other threads have been made regarding the topic.
    • It is also hard enforced to not be rude while on a thread, please be respectful.
  • When arguing for changing anything about a profile, do not assume that the commenters will have in-depth knowledge about the fictional franchise in question. Make sure to explain your suggestions in a structured manner that is easy to comprehend. This makes it far easier to evaluate threads. This also works the other way around, however. Do not write overly long and complicated threads that no one will realistically read through, it is preferable to keep your arguments concise, comprehensible, and explanatory with brevity.
  • To get better input in a content revision thread, inspect the knowledgeable members list to get information about the people who know much about a franchise (you can find it on each franchise verse page).
  • Generally try to avoid derailing content revision discussion threads from the original topic. Too many different subjects will cause a thread to never finish.
  • This rule is listed specifically towards admins, do not act like your opinion regarding a thread is the ultimate say towards it. A thread’s acceptance is based on if enough knowledgeable members agree to the changes provided and that it meets the standards on the wiki, the staff’s job is only to moderate threads and make sure they stay on track, along with offering insight regarding how the site treats certain concepts.
  • Do not make threads bringing up how you are debating a "wanker" or "downplayer" and need help, this wiki is not for helping with debates, it's for indexing characters and collecting information.
  • Do not make a thread ranting about how you don't like the statistics of a verse on the site, if you truly feel they are wrong you can easily make a CRT to try and tackle the changes. This is far more productive then a random rant/vent thread that will only serve to fuel pointless argument that goes nowhere.
  • Do not make CRTs as a way to gather debunks for a verse to use on another site, if you are found doing this, you will be banned as it is clear you cannot be trusted.
    • Doubly do not use anything from this site to try and get an upgrade or downgrade on other sites, this sites rules and standards are heavily different from any other site.
  • Do not attempt to make discussion rules to ban discussions on a topic for a verse. Just because the verse heads or experts all agree on a topic does not make it objective. Others may have insight or even if they have the same arguments others do, it is very easy to bring up the issues just like what was done in previous threads. Discussion rules should only be enforced to ban topics that are largely harmful to people.

Before Making a Content Revision Thread

Before making a CRT (Content Revision Thread), there are several things that should be noted:

  1. Do NOT make a CRT for a verse you are unfamiliar with, this includes making a CRT and linking a random respect thread or calculation, if the information didn't come from yourself, there is little reason to be trying to push for an upgrade for a verse you're not fully aware of. The questions thread would be a better place to ask if such things can work.
  2. Upgrade threads shouldn't link calculations from other wikis, if one wants an upgrade through a calculation they first need to read Calculation Usage to see if a calculation would even qualify under our standards. Secondly, they will need to port the calculation over to the wiki.
  3. Upgrade or downgrade threads should never be based off the premise of whataboutism (E.G. "Why is X at 6-C for this when Y is at 6-B for this"), those can easily be answered in question threads to see if one or the other verse should be changed to match the sites standards.
  4. Content Revision Threads need to be supported by scans or any other direct proof that claimed events happened in the source material.
  5. You are free to make content revisions for profiles under revisions/are outdated, these tags exist purely to note a page needs fixing and will likely receive fixing in the future. This is noted since other sites forbid threads regarding a series that's outdated because one true verse head is working on them. The same is not said for here, this wiki is for collaborative efforts therefore any threads are fine and if anything, would make the "big" thread easier to make.
  6. Make sure to fact check all your sources before sending it for a content revision thread. For an example of invalid sources: Linking to a youtuber famous for powerscaling, linking to a death battle, linking to game theory, etcetera. If the sources exist in those videos, then you can easily find the actual original source for them. Cropped screenshots are also hard enforced, the name of the book and page must be given with some form or way to have someone be able to see the full page for context.
  7. Despite what other sites may claim, repeated threads on a topic are fine, though it is suggested to look at prior threads to understand what the refutes were in the first place or you risk having the same issue occur.
  8. The intention of a thread does matter on downgrading or upgrading a series. If a thread is made purely for the sake of being mad that another verse has a higher or lower tier, the thread itself will be discarded and a new thread will be started by a mod to discuss the arguments. While this may sound weird, this is due to the fact that when a clear bias intention is made for cases like this it makes it clear the person is not there to have a cordial conversation and instead trying to debate just to get what they want.
  9. Threads promoting uncontroversial changes normally just need a mod to see and acknowledge it.
