“ | You've gotten stronger, Blizzard. But I mustn't expect help from anyone. And especially now that you've grown and become a hero... ...I must set an example. | „ |
~ Tatsumaki in response to Fubuki's resolve |
Background
Tatsumaki, also known by her hero alias Tornado of Terror, is the S-Class Rank 2 professional hero of the Hero Association. She is recognized as one of the Hero Association's most powerful heroes. She is an esper and the older sister and self-declared teacher of Fubuki. She and her sister are known as the Psychic Sisters.
Personality
- Harsh Personality: Tatsumaki is very harsh to those around her, telling one of Fubuki's subordinates to give up being a hero due to how weak and cowardly he was[1], though this is ultimately out of a place of kindness as she believes the weak should not waste their lives[2]. Giving "advice" to those from a person of true strength (herself). She hates being called for many monster attacks that she feels the other heroes should be able to handle, calling the Hero Association incompetent[3]. It's later revealed that Tatsumaki does this because she views it as her fault that her sister's powers awakened and that she must be alone and take all the burden on her own[4].
- Childlike Personality: Despite her age, Tatsumaki has a very childish tantrum, she hates being ignored and hates being called a brat, lashing out against the person that calls her so[5]. She also shows respect to older people like Bang, where he will call out how she is not acting like a Class S, Rank 2 Hero and she will listen[6].
- Care for her Sister: Tatsuamki cares very much about her sister despite how mean she may act towards her. She will immedieatly come to any battlefield where Fubuki has taken damage[7] or where Fubuki is in trouble and save her[8]. She refused to allow the Hero Association to enlist Fubuki into the fight against the Monster Association[9]. Fubuki has said how Tatsumaki would never harm her with her power[10].

Was able to stop Psykos-Orochi's strongest blast while carrying Genos with her noting she can finally focus on the fight and Psykos being unable to move, with Pyskos even noting Tatsumaki still had more power to give[27]. Easily pierced Gyoro Gyoro's barrier[28]. Casually stopped and returned back a large amount of Boros' gun shells, which were so powerful they leveled City A within an instant[29], being noted to have destroyed 99.8% of it in an instant[30]. Reaction Speed: Average Human physically. At least Massively Hypersonic (Superior to Bang and Atomic Samurai, where Atomic Samura can draw his sword and[39] do over a hundred slashes[40], to where a man who can draw his sword faster than the speed of sound couldn't perceive his movements[41], resulting in these speeds)
Stamina: Superhuman+ (Throughout her fight with Psykos she kept repeatedly receiving hard injuries and multi-tasking and still kept pushing through, even when she passed out for a short while, her psychic powers were still active and when she woke back up she still kept fighting, with her still being able to fly and fight even after this entire fight[42])
Range: Standard Melee, Thousands of Kilometers with Powers (Uprooted the entirety of the Monster Association Base along with grabbing all of the heroes from each section of the base and bringing them above ground[43]. Such as when she put her psychic energy into a rock and shapped it to look like her to make Psykos believe she was tracking her all the while she disguised herself as energy Psykos was absorbing to go inside of her and attack her from within[48]. Throughout the entirety of this battle too, Tatsumaki was multi-tasking fighting Psykos while also trying to extract the heroes from the hideout so she could crush the whole hideout[49])
Powers and Techniques
All beings in One-Punch Man have a Limiter which through trying to break it[91], starts granting them the following abilities:
Indomitable Will (One that breaks their limiter need to have extreme will to continue[92]), Pain Tolerance (As they constantly need to put constant pressure on both their body and mind[93]), Accelerated Development (Passive, Physical Stats & Abilities; Limiter Removal, allows for endless growth as there is no intrinsic limit placed on people[94]), Adaptation (Garou has shown to increase himself to blitzing and overpowering Darkshine, who previously managed to break his entire ribcage, by breaking his limiter[95]), Supernatural Resilience (Characters like Garou were able to survive being ripped apart and a hole in his chest[96]), Resurrection (To experience explosive growth, one must be on the brink of death and die than resurrect[97]).
Resistance to BFR (Forced Teleportation; Child Emperor due to his strong will, can break out of Pheonix Space[98]), Mind Manipulation & Absorption (Psykos resisted Orochi absorbing them into them and taking over their mind through sheer will[99]), Telekinesis (Garou with his sheer will couldn't have his movements negated by Gyro Gyro[100]), Sleep Manipulation (Through sheer will and getting pumped up Metal Bat can resist the tranquilizing odor that made him nearly lose consciousness[101]), Empathic Manipulation (Fubuki is able to resist Monster Princess' whip due to having a strong will where her whip can turn one into a slave[102]), Power Nullification (Limits are meant to be intrinsic limits placed on people[103])
Equipment
Nothing notable.
Notable Techniques
- Psychic Powers: She was born with the ability that makes all tremble who see her bring down the hammer on evil monsters. The supernatural abilities she possesses are the fruit of a divine realm that surpasses human knowledge. Her power can move all creation, and even multitudes of enemies have no choice but to surrender before her. Her tiny body contains a bottomless well of power.
- Shell Throw: A ferocious counterattack by rebounding the shells fired on the ground during the Alien Conquerors Arc.
Other
Standard Tactics: Tatsumaki will use her psychic powers against an opponent, she will find ways to improvise and come up with new strategies if opponents find ways to get around some of her techniques.
Weaknesses: Tatsumaki is noted by Fubuki that she is putting everything on her shoulders[104].
Note
- One-Punch Man has a weird two chapter numbering system, one based on those published in volumes and one based on the online chapters, along with the numbering being further messed with due to redrawn chapters and merges/splits, due to this it is not viable to do references to chapters, but rather through arcs.
Miscellaneous Feats
Trivia
- Tatsumaki likes her sister and places where she can fully use her abilities[106].
- Tatsumaki dislikes men who become heroes even if they're weak and getting treated like a child[107].
- Tatsumaki's hobbies are unknown[108].
- Tatsumaki got her hero name from the recognition of her terrifyin abilities, the association added "Terror" to her alias[109].
Battle Records
9 - 2 - 0
- Monster Princess Super S - Fight[113]
- Conditions: The Blizzard Group were mind controlled and attacking her, Tatsumaki eventually intervened.
- Location: Unknown City
- Note: Monster Princess fled from the battle due to Tatsumaki appearing, though before that Fubuki was overpowering her, thus it is very likely Fubuki would have won this without Tatsumaki's interference.
- Psykos - Fight[117]
- Conditions: Tatsumaki was intially holding back to make sure none of the hostages were harmed and Pyskos eventually went to fuse with Orochi to fight Tatsumaki. After Tatsumaki recused everyone out of the monster association base, she was finally able to fully focus on the fight. When Psykos fused with Orochi was in her jet form, all of the S-Class heroes banded together to stop her.
- Location: Monster Association Base
- Note: The fight had multiple different parts to it due to Pyskos and Tatsuamki's various different situations, though ultimately if no interference at all happened, Tatsumaki would have won as she was holding back due to hostages and later not fully focusing on the fight due to needing to get all of the heroes out of the Monster Association base.
- Fuhrer Ugly - Fight[119]
- Conditions: Tatsumaki was heavily weakened after her fight with Psykos.
- Location: City Z
- Note: Tatsumaki was heavily weakened due to her fight with Psykos, allowing Fuhrer Ugly to knock her out with a surprise attack, if she was at full strength she would have easily killed him.
None.

- ↑ Q: Murata sensei, here's a question from overseas, can Geryuganshoop actually create black holes by manipulating gravity? It seems like they care about this a lot.
A: hm~, I'm not sure. Black holes seem too powerful. I won't know for sure without asking ONE. But his ability to control flying objects should be above Tatsumaki, because he can eliminate the friction between rocks and air. If Tatsumaki throws rocks like he does, her output will be too powerful, the temperature increase due to friction and pressure, and evaporate the rocks in an instant. Geryuganshoop's psychokinesis can eliminate the friction between objects and air, the rocks will fly at sub-light speed*, that's the setting I based my drawing on. Tatsumaki can throw very large objects, but there's a limit to how fast she can throw them. Geryuganshoop is the greatest psychic in the universe after all. That's what I think. (he repeats this several times)
Murata: Saitama still beat him with a casual stone throw though. In Saitama's eyes rocks at sub-light speed is nothing, it's like a bad joke.
T/N: The Japanese used here is 亜光速, can mean sub-light or near lightspeed. Murata says Geryuganshoop being the greatest psychic in the universe in a joking manner. - ↑ One-Punch Man Super Fight Arc
