The President (Pikmin)

Background

The President (社長) is the owner or co-owner of Hocotate Freight and tritagonist of Pikmin 2, who was first mentioned in Pikmin by Olimar as simply "Boss". He runs into financial trouble after Louie, a new employee, shipping a supply of very valuable golden pikpik carrots, is reportedly attacked by a ravenous space bunny, who is said to have eaten the entire cargo of carrots. The President takes out a large loan to reimburse the loss of the golden pikpik carrots and has no way of repaying the enormous debt. He sells off the only company asset, Olimar's ship, the S.S. Dolphin, in Olimar's absence, but it only makes a small dent in the enormous loan, as 10,100 pokos are still owed. It's only when the Hocotate Ship reveals the value of Olimar's souvenir from PNF-404 that he gets the idea to have Olimar and Louie return to the foreign planet in search of more treasure.

Although Olimar repays the debt of Hocotate Freight, he and the President return to PNF-404 in search of Louie and more treasure, leading to the events of the 2nd half of Pikmin 2. Afterwords, Hocotate Freight runs into more debt and the President sends Olimar and Louie back to the planet to repay the new debt, leading to the introduction of a group of Kopai astrounauts and the plot of Pikmin 3.

The Pluckaphone inspires Pikmin to pluck themselves. He can temporarily stun enemies with the whistle and can control Pikmin, and even other captains, with his whistle), Self-Sustenance (Type 1. His space suit allows him to breath in space and on toxic planets), Limited Flight (Has a jetpack that can fly for an extended period), Regeneration (Mid. Can survive and regenerate after being flattened), Passive Teleportation (Will be brought back to his ship after being incapacitated regardless of where he is), Immortality (Type 3 & 6. Can survive being squashed and regenerate from it), Petrification, Durability Negation, and Power Nullification with Ultra-bitter spray (Can completely petrify large enemies into solid stone making them weaker to damage. Blue Pikmin: Immune to and can manipulate water, along with intake/breathe water as fish would.

White Pikmin: Immune to and can induce toxins and acid, along with having enhanced senses.

Purple Pikmin: Has the physical power of 10 Pikmin and can send vibrations through the ground that paralysis nearby foes.
