Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none. They don't symbolize monsters.

The truth lies within each person. But even truth seems suspect once it leaves their mouths...

It's nothing. For a second, I thought you were someone else.

Background

Cissnei, also referred to as Shuriken, but real name unknown, is a supporting protagonist of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. She is a member of Shinra Power Electric Company's Turks, who pride themselves in secretive and highly important tasks. She meets and takes a liking to Zack Fair very quickly, whose presence influences her decisions later on. It is implied that she left the Turks, following the word of Zack's last stand.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Cissnei’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Cissnei was a young orphan girl turned into one of Shinra Power Electric Company’s most efficient Turks. Orphaned at a very young age, Cissnei was quickly discovered by Shinra and taken in, where she was raised from then on.

Turning her training to become a Turk, Cissnei was motivated by the thought that everyone around her was a potential enemy. With this motivation in mind, Cissnei pushed her training beyond all of her peers, and became the youngest recruit to ever become a Turk.

Cissnei would go on to fight in several Turk covert missions, often requiring extreme stealth and precision. She grew accustomed to wielding a large shuriken, which she calls a Rekka, and has used it on nearly every mission to date. Her usage of the Rekka gave her the nickname, Shuriken.

During a mission in Midgar, Cissnei was pitted against an invading army of Genesis Clones. Although she fought most of them off, she was eventually overrun. Thankfully, a SOLDIER named Zack Fair stepped in and saved her life. Since then, Cissnei and Zack became good friends and saw each other on several missions.

Cissnei eventually anonymously became the founding member of a Zack Fair fan club, under the codename “Black Suit,” in order to lift Zack’s spirits. However, one day, Cissnei discovered that Zack Fair had been pronounced dead. Four entire years passed, until Zack’s sudden return.

Cissnei was charged with tracking down Zack, which eventually she was able to do. However, feeling extreme pity for Zack, and his comatose friend Cloud, she secretly let the pair escape; promising Zack that she would watch over his family while he was on the run.

The last known mission Cissnei was on, had her sent out to search for Zack and Cloud, in order to save their lives before the Shinra Army got to them. Unfortunately, Cissnei was unable to locate Zack before the Shinra army, leading to his unfortunate demise. After this heartbreaking failure, Cissnei remained with the Turks until hearing news of Gongaga's Mako reactor exploding, returning there to be a part of the relief effort.

After some time, however, Cissnei decided to remain in Gongaga and call it home, honoring Zack's request to watch over his parents. She became the leader of the Gongaga Youth Coalition, where she used her former-Turk fighting prowess to fend off Mako-enhanced monsters in the area.

Powers and Techniques

Spirit Energy Physiology, which includes: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Blessed (Everyone born into the world is blessed with Spirit Energy), Sheer Will (Willpower alone can be enough to fight off Mako poisoning, and the will of Jenova. Those with a strong enough will can retain their sense of self after dying and returning to the Lifestream), Memory Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Rage Power, & Aura (Limit Breaks are born of memories, are comprised of Spirit Energy, and are unleashed when the user's anger is pushed to the limit. They give off an aura when used), Non-Standard Interaction (Characters can interact with the souls of the Gi Tribe), Regeneration Negation (Mid-High; Jenova can regenerate itself fully so long as its cells remain, as Cloud Strife participates in Jenova's Reunion despite only containing her cells. Despite this, pieces of Jenova defeated by the heroes were unable to enact the Reunion), Immortality Negation (Type 3; Can completely kill pieces of Jenova, preventing them from regenerating), Accelerated Development (When Sephiroth fought the party far earlier than he was supposed to, the main characters could still contend with him, even after Sephiroth absorbed the Whispers and became stronger than he had ever been)

Spirit Energy Physiology, which grants Resistance to: Mind Manipulation & Soul Manipulation (Those with high willpower can resist succumbing to Jenova's will, which passively takes over one's mind and eats away at the soul, and can prevent their mind from shattering), Poison Manipulation (High willpower can prevent the toxicosis that comes with the exposure to Jenova Cells), Power Mimicry & Power Absorption (Limit Breaks cannot be copied by others. Only Zack Fair can copy Limit Breaks, though he is noted to be the only exception to this), Corruption (Types 1 & 2; Several main characters have been exposed to high amounts of Mako energy, and never became Makonoid monsters), Biological Deconstruction & Soul Manipulation (Main characters have fallen into the Lifestream and returned unscathed, without being forcefully diffused or dissolved into it, or having their spirit be eroded and dissipated), Heat Manipulation & Radiation Manipulation (Can withstand Super Nova without any negative effects of heat or radiation), Limited Disease Manipulation (Those with a will to live are unaffected by Geostigma, which infects those with a weak will)
