Revision as of 23:14, 19 June 2023 by GiverBot (talk | contribs) (→‎[[Hax|Powers and Abilities]]: re-categorisation per CFD, replaced: Type 1. → Type 1; (2), Type 2. → Type 2; (2), Type 3. → Type 3;, Type 4. → Type 4;, Type 5. → Type 5;, Type 7. → Type 7;)

Background

The X Parasite, also known as Unidentified Parasite Creature-X, is an extremely hostile, shape-shifting organism native to planet SR388. They are witnessed in the prequel manga, and make their resurgence in the post-credits scene of Metroid: Samus Returns. The X are later discovered and eradicated during the events of Metroid Fusion. They kill and assimilate other life forms in order to survive and spread; though simple-minded and entirely driven by instinct, they are in fact a threat to all natural life in the cosmos if left unchecked.

Their very existence is what drove the ancient Chozo race to create the titular and dreaded Metroid species with the intention of wiping out the X Parasite, therefore triggering most of the Metroid series' events.

Statistics

Tier: Varies from 8-A to 5-B, likely far higher. Far higher with Power Mimicry

Name: X Parasite

Origin: Metroid Fusion

Sex: Unknown

Age: Unknown

Classification: Cosmic Parasite

Status: Unknown (It was thought that the entire species was wiped out during the events of Metroid Fusion, however Raven Beak took some of the X Parasites to a new planet, though this planet was destroyed too, thus the activity of the X Parasite species remains unknown)

Alignment: Neutral Evil (The species hunger for knowledge and power, instinctively seeking to increase their numbers which poses them as a very threat to the universe itself)

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: Varies from Multi-City Block level (Lower levels should be comparable to Space Pirates who can harm Zero Suit Samus), to Planet level, likely far higher (Higher level X Parasites like Neo-Ridley mimic the exact DNA and powers of Super Metroid Ridley, and can fight Fusion Suit Samus Aran, along with the SA-X being far superior to Fusion Suit Samus Aran). Far higher with Power Mimicry (The X Parasite could potentially be able to mimic even users amplified by Phazon if they were to attach themselves to it (see note))

Durability: Varies from Multi-City Block level, to Planet level, likely far higher. Far higher with Power Mimicry

Striking Strength: Varies from Multi-City Block Class, to Planet Class, likely far higher. Far higher with Power Mimicry

Lifting Strength: Varies from Unknown to Class M (Neo-Ridley should be comparable to Ridley who can physically grab and lift Samus Aran with her having a hard time breaking his grip)

Travel Speed: Superhuman (Can travel as fast as Samus Aran, if not faster)

Combat Speed: Massively FTL+ (Can tag Fusion Suit Samus Aran, who uses speed boosters, which are the same equipment that enhances spaceships capable of intergalactic travel, can react to spaceships mid-flight during these states. With the ships moving this fast during intergalactic travel)

Reaction Speed: Massively FTL+

Stamina: Limitless (They’re a species that can perfectly replicate off of other beings without requiring food or water to survive)

Range: Varies, Several Meters via sheer size, Hundreds of Meters with various attacks as Neo-Ridley (Can do numerous airborne attacks), Kilometers with Energy Beams (Can fire her beams at Meta Ridley while he is far out in the sky) & Ice Manipulation (Ice Beam froze the ruins site)

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius (The X Parasites have critical thought and absorb knowledge and memories from their prey, with the X Parasite's absorbing the likes of Ridley’s & Samus Aran's knowledge and memories)

Powers and Abilities

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Genius Intelligence (The X Parasites have critical thought and absorb knowledge and memories from their prey), Small Size (Type 2; X Parasite’s are small blobs that attach itself to a host), Power Mimicry, Absorption, Power Absorption, & Resurrection, Possession (The X Parasite can possess and mimic it’s prey, absorbing their DNA, and gaining their powers, thoughts and memories, along with this they can possess dead beings bringing them back to life such as Ridley’s corpse), Electricity Manipulation (X Parasites can interfere with electricity), Data Manipulation (X Parasites can process data organically), Memory Absorption (The X Parasite absorbs knowledge and memories of its prey), Reactive Adaptation (The X Parasite evolves and grows stronger, being able to resist Samus' current weapons), Technology Manipulation (X Parasites can infect even machines), Duplication (X Parasite can reproduce by asexual division), Size Manipulation (X Parasite can grow into a larger monster), Regeneration (Low-High. With it’s X-core, X Parasites can regenerate from being turned to dust or being completely disintegrated), Resistance to Absorption (Trying to absorb an X Parasite will freeze one)

Standard Equipment

Nothing notable.

Other

Standard Tactics: The X Parasite will attach itself to the host mimicking all of it’s abilities, powers, and adapting to whatever they throw at the X Parasite.

Weaknesses: The X Parasites have no notable counter to Metroids and their life force absorption, making the metroids the one counter to the X Parasites.

Note: While the X Parasites and Phazon beings never directly interacted on screen in the Metroid universe, the sheer threat level the X Parasites are treated as in the Metroid Universe should put their primary abilities at a 1-C potency, Samus Aran herself view the X Parasites as such a threat that she is willing to sacrifice her life to take out all X Parasites, with Samus being aware of phazon beings. Thus their abilities Reactive Adaptation, Power Mimicry, and Possession are believed to be on a 1-C level and that they can affect beings with a physiology akin to the Chozo Ghost.
