Buzz Buzz
Buzz Buzz is the main protagonist of the short form horror series Buzzbound. Buzz Buzz travels back from the future to locate Ness shortly before the events of the main story. In BuzzBound, he initially arrives a few weeks late, witnessing firsthand the full devastation caused by Giygas.
The fan-made follow-up, Shadows of Giygas by BigSharkZ, released on August 4th, 2024, explores an alternate scenario in which Buzz fails.
This character has mature themes and concepts, thus those of young age are ill-advised to look through these. | |

Notable Techniques
PSI Telekinesis
Allows Buzz Buzz to manipulate objects remotely with his mind. Notably, he can pick up and interact with items from a distance, such as answering a phone in another character's house without physically being there[64].
PSI Healing
Restores life force and heals injuries. Buzz Buzz can use this ability on himself or others, quickly recovering from damage sustained in battle[65].
PSI Healing A / PSI Healing B
Used to purify poisons and harmful conditions. These techniques allow Buzz Buzz to remove toxins or negative effects from targets, making them fully functional again[66] .
PSI Neutral
Dispels active PSI effects or illusions. For example, Buzz Buzz can negate illusions that attempt to alter reality around him, such as illusions changing the appearance of a house to fool its occupants[67].
PSI Flash A
Emits a concentrated burst of light that can blind or disrupt opponents while potentially inflicting status effects. The light can also serve as a tactical distraction during combat[68] .
PSI Sound A / PSI Sound B
Generates sound-based attacks that affect a wide area. These attacks can disorient, damage, or overwhelm enemies using sonic energy, making them effective for crowd control[69].
Paralysis Ω
Induces paralysis in opponents, temporarily immobilizing them. This ability can halt even active or defensive characters, giving Buzz Buzz a strategic advantage in battle[70].
PSI Shield B
Creates a reflective barrier of psychic energy that can block or return incoming PSI attacks. This defensive ability provides strong protection against magical or psychic assaults[71].
PSI Fire A
Launches a stream of fire at targets, typically affecting multiple enemies in a row. This offensive PSI attack is useful for dealing widespread damage efficiently[72].
Hypnosis Ω
Induces sleep in targets, rendering them temporarily incapacitated. This allows Buzz Buzz to control the battlefield by neutralizing enemies without direct combat[73].
Other
Standard Tactics: Buzz Buzz will use various PSI techniques and items he has on him.
Weaknesses
- PSI Weaknesses: PSI users need to concentrate in order to use their PSI[74].
- Unique Weaknesses: Despite his immense PSI, he can die from attacks from a housewife, noting that he was much weaker then he thought.
- Ship Weaknesses: In last ditch efforts Buzz Buzz can issue a Code Newton to the Apple of Enlightenment, calling it to slam at full force on an enemy, though this damaged his ship beyond repair and he was barely able to move further back in time to reach the actual Earthbound timelineh[75].
Explanations
Before the infamous marketing campaign for EarthBound in North America, Nintendo of America experimented with a different strategy to attract an audience. They commissioned a darker, more mature prequel minisode intended to appeal to a wider range of tastes. The cartridge containing a complete build of this story was eventually lost and forgotten—until its recent rediscovery.
The plot of the game centers on Buzz Buzz shortly before the main story, as he travels back in time from the future to locate Ness. In BuzzBound, however, he initially arrives a few weeks late, witnessing firsthand the full scope of Giygas's terrifying invasion.
