~ Son Goku to Frieza

Background

Son Goku is a main playable character in Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden for the Nintendo 3DS. As a Saiyan raised on Planet Earth, Goku is a prodigious martial artist responsible for saving the universe from destruction on countless occasions. After defeating the evil Omega Shenron with his Super Ultra Spirit Bomb, Goku left Earth to train at the Sacred World of the Kai.

After a few years passed, Goku came to learn that Omega Shenron somehow survived their battle, and was using his insurmountably powerful minus energy to warp space and time. This distortion caused enemies from Goku's past and future to collide, which he is charged with getting rid of. In order to do so, he much become the so-called "Legendary Saiyan."

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: At least Island level (Potency) (Takes place after Dragon Ball GT, making him above his Dragon Ball GT self, later reaches double this strength, far superior to Semi-Perfect Cell, who destroyed several islands with several blast), Higher in Super Saiyan, Far Higher in Super Saiyan God (Could face off against Beerus) & Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Defeated Beerus as well as Omega Shenron). Varies: Skill with Strongest Charged Blast (Charged Blast have one focus all of their energy into one single point[13], putting the blasts power far beyond what their peak strength is[14], allowing them to destroy things they couldn't prior with their regular attacks[15], this also allows them to use charged attacks that can stop enemies far beyond their level, such as Tien Shinhan pushing back Semi-Perfect Cell with his Neo Ki-Ko-Ho[16], along with stopping an attack shot from Buu absorbed Gotenks[17]. Strongest charged blast can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[18], with blasts capable of[19] seriously damaging/destroying[20] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[21]. Charged Blast also rely heavily on emotional states for example Gohan not believing in himself[22] was having Cell overpower him in a beam clash[23]). Can create shockwaves that will eventually become Multi-Supercluster level (His fight with Beerus caused shockwaves that were noted by Elder Kai that when they travel away they will eventually reach enough power to destroy the universe)

Durability: At least Island level, Higher in Super Saiyan, Far Higher in Super Saiyan God & Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, Higher with Guard Up (Ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard), Lower with Ki Control (Higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them). Can create shockwaves that will eventually reach Multi-Super Cluster level (His fight with Beerus caused shockwaves that were noted by Elder Kai that when they travel away they will eventually reach enough power to destroy the universe)

Striking Strength: At least Island Class (Potency), Higher in Super Saiyan, Far Higher in Super Saiyan God & Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan

Lifting Strength: Class 50 (Is superior to his Buu Saga Super Saiyan 3 self, who is superior to his Super Saiyan Buu Saga self, who could casually fight while carrying 40 tons)

Travel Speed: Relativistic (Far superior to Super Saiyan Gotenks who flew around the earth a few dozen times in this time frame)

Attack Speed: At least Relativistic

Reaction Speed: At least Relativistic

Stamina: At least Superhuman (Is capable of being in pain for almost 6 hours straight and refusing to die)

Range: Standard Melee, Interplanetary with Ki Blasts

Intelligence: Below Average Intelligence socially (Raised in the mountains with his adoptive grandpa before the latter’s death, knows little to nothing about how society functions), At least Below Average, possibly Above Average academics wise (While training with Master Roshi he learned about Math & Calculus, though Goku has displayed he can’t count beyond 18 after being explained to him what comes after 18 he was able to quickly count past it, along with this he has shown to have better understanding academically of situations), Genius Intelligence combat wise (Copies a Kamehameha after seeing it once, which is supposed to take 50 years to learn according to Roshi, copied Master Roshi’s ultimate technique the afterimage after seeing it done, could copy Tien’s solar flare and his flying technique and could copy the demon clan’s air ki techniques. Goku is an incredibly skilled fighter to the point that he is able to easily outskill trained Martial Artists such as Krillin and Yamcha and match prodigies such as Tien and even nearly beat his Master, Roshi, after training with him for a few months)

Powers and Techniques

All previous powers and abilities to a greater extent.

Equipment

  • Regeneration: Recovers your health over time.
  • Energy Sponge: Recovers HP when inflicting damage on your opponent. Purchased for 1,000 Zeni in the Item Shop.
  • Senzu Bean: Recovers all your health when your health is low. Purchased for 500 Zeni in the Item Shop.

Notable Techniques

  • Kaioken Kamehameha: Goku first powers-up into his Kaioken state, before charging and unleashing a Kamehameha Wave at his opponent. This is most notably used by Goku during his clash with Vegeta's Galick Gun, for the sake of the planet.
  • Spirit Bomb: Through raising his arms to the sky and calling out to all living beings of the planet, Goku gathers their energy into one large ball of Ki. This Spirit Bomb is then thrown at the opponent, causing a huge explosion bound to wipe out any trace of evil.

  • Super Kamehameha: A far more powerful version of the Kamehameha Wave, bolstered by Goku's Super Saiyan transformation.
  • Spirit Bomb: Through raising his arms to the sky and calling out to all living beings of the planet, Super Saiyan Goku gathers their energy into one large ball of Ki. This Spirit Bomb is then thrown at the opponent, causing a huge explosion bound to wipe out any trace of evil.
  • Super Spirit Bomb: Raising his hands into the air, Super Saiyan Goku gathers energy from all living beings on the planet. Not only plants and animals as he used to use before, but now also the energy willingly transferred to him by the citizens of Earth. This culminates into a far larger Spirit Bomb, notably used to eradicate Kid Buu. Even when the opponent attempts to fight back against this attack, Goku simply sends them his regards and hopes to fight them again.

  • Super Kamehameha: A far more powerful version of the Kamehameha Wave, bolstered by Goku's Super Saiyan 3 transformation.

  • God Kamehameha: A far more powerful version of the Kamehameha Wave, bolstered by the God Ki that Goku obtained in his Super Saiyan God transformation.
  • Explosive Wave: Super Saiyan God Goku is surrounded by a fiery aura of Ki, which then explodes outwards once Goku lets out a roar of power. This flaming dome then engulfs the opponent.

  • God Kamehameha: A far more powerful version of the Kamehameha Wave, bolstered by the God Ki that Goku obtained in his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan transformation.
  • Ki Blast Volley: Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku unleashes a continuous volley of small Ki blasts, before charging-up a final large ball of Ki and firing it off.
  • Dash Kamehameha: Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku charges full-speed at the opponent, before slowing down half-way in order to charge his strongest Kamehameha Wave yet. This attack was most notably used in order to kill Golden Frieza, moments before the tyrant was going to wipe out Earth.

Other

Standard Tactics: Goku will incorporate hand to hand combat along with ki attacks and transformations.

Weaknesses

Note

  • Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[186].
  • The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.

Codex Statistics Questions

Q: What about the planetary feats in Dragon Ball?

A: Planetary feats are normally done through their strongest charged blast, where they can gather ki to shoot out blast far beyond what the character is normally capable of[187], with blasts capable of[188] seriously damaging/destroying[189] the Earth along with completely obliterating the opponent[190], though they themselves are never capable of leaving this unscathed.

Frieza throws a destroy the planet death ball attack but it doesn't destroy the planet. Goku then interestingly notes the reason the planet didn't blow up is because Frieza was too scared of getting caught in the blast[191] . Vegeta's final flash is noted it's going to destroy the planet and Perfect Cell, who is beyond Vegeta, couldn't tank the blast and had to dodge it last second or it would've killed him[192]. Goku's kamehameha was going to destroy the earth and Cell cannot tank this blast, needing to regenerate[193]. Semi-Perfect Cell explosion was consistently noted it was going to destroy the planet and Gohan and it killed Goku[194]. Ultimate Gohan dies to an attack that destroys the earth, his guard was up too since this was when he was fighting Super Buu[195]. Kid Buu shoots a blast trying to destroy the planet, with Vegeta noting he's going to take himself out with it if he lets it off[196]. In Dragon Ball GT, Great Ape Baby Vegeta shoots a super galick gun that he claims will destroy Earth, when Goku is hit by it, he is knocked out to the point that he can't move for a good while, Elder Kai and Shin later state that Baby is going to shoot another blast that will destroy the planet on, greatly injuring Baby if he's caught in the Blast and will kill everyone on the planet if done[197]. Frieza destroyed the entire earth, killing Vegeta in the process[198]. In the Dragon Ball Super Manga, Gohan tells Goku that he doesn't need to hold anything back and can go all out because anything that happens to the Earth can be restored with Dende and the Dragon Balls. Yet, none of Goku's all out attacks destroy the planet but just heavily causes shockwaves around it[199]. Semi-Perfect Cell unleashes a several blast that destroys several islands Android 16 notes that the attacks are just strong enough to not kill Android 18[200].

In the fight of Trunks vs. Mecha Frieza, who is far stronger than his final form, Mecha Frieza immediately goes for his strongest attack, the Supernova. In the original Z anime King Kai even states this is ten times stronger than the power he used on Namek:

  • DBZ Kai Version[201].
  • Original DBZ Anime Version[202]. The attack is directly noted that it could destroy the planet, but doesn't because Trunks catches it, when Mecha Frieza proceeds to detonate it, the explosion is massive but the planet is still intact, implying Frieza must target the core in order to destroy the planet.
