A boy/girl who boarded the Astral Express. They chose to travel with the Astral Express to eliminate the dangers posed by the Stellaron.

Background

The Trailblazer is the playable main protagonist of Honkai: Star Rail.

They are awakened during the opening events of the game by Kafka and Silver Wolf, who leave them to be found by March 7th and Dan Heng on Herta Space Station during the Antimatter Legion's invasion. The player gets to choose either Stelle (female) or Caelus (male), along with their Receptacle Codename.

The Trailblazer is obtained after completing the Trailblaze Mission Chaos in the Deep.

Lore

A (boy/girl), (Trailblazer), decides to travel with the Astral Express to eliminate the threat of the Stellaron.

You don't remember much. You're not from around here, nor did you come from elsewhere. You're not really going anywhere— Just then, that indistinct voice whispers into your ear. That sorrowful and tender persuasion, that deceptive goading... The seeds take root. You open your eyes, and the speaker is no longer there.

But there are more and more voices, and they are getting clearer and clearer. Some give easygoing care, some calmly provide advice, some speak firm support, and some gift gentle direction... You see the silken thread being woven to form tomorrow.

A huge beast descends from infinity, golden pupils stare down from the darkness, and you are no longer abandoned by the past. You will also set upon a long journey, and the thorns you have stepped on have become your path.

The train whistles, wishing you a successful journey to the coming future ...by your own will.

You have arrived at the "City of Preservation." Behind the snow curtain, the wind lashes like steel blades, but the kindling burns on. Distant lands won't hear them, and the earth trembles in kind, with only the wailing crowds braving the wind.

After facing foreign enemies, the Eternal Freeze, and reality's fissures, a rot begins to fester within the fort. You try lending a helping hand, but are forsaken. Some once looked down on you and misunderstood you, but still you stood by their side and helped them find their way. More care about you and worry about you. They face their suffering, and find the cure for the distressed. Eventually, they come to your side.

In the ice and snow, you are like a fire, protecting the soul of this world

...Even though you must scorch yourself day and night.

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: Solar System level (Potency) (Fought and defeated Phantylia, who can casually "crush" one with the weight of a star, causing a massive explosion, along with greatly dwarfing the planet in size[20]. Comparable to Dan Heng, who was noted in Part III of Himeko's character story that he defeated monsters that can swallow stars in just one strike of his lance[21]. Can fight the Doomsday Beast[22], who is noted to be the legion's Planet Destroyer[23]), Higher with the Path of Destruction (The Trailblazer is apart of the path of destruction, which this path deals outstanding amounts of damage and possesses great survivability[24]). Can disperse up to Universe levels of energy with the Powers of Preservation (Noted by Welt that the power of Preservation protected the entire Dreamscape from[25], Acheron's slash, which would've destroyed the entire dreamscape[26], an entire universe[27]). Universe level (Potency) with Empowerment (Was able to fight and defeat Sunday, with the help of Robin, with everyone's wishes and support, where this form of Sunday, who fused with the "Harmonious Choir" The Great Septimus, who is one of the many embodiments Xipe The Harmony, with interferences from the Order, being materialized as the Hive Mind's responses to wishes, and all who made this wish will become the source of his power[28], this should make him at the very least comparable to Acheron with her sword unsheathed, where her slash[29] would have destroyed the entire dreamscape[30], an entire universe[31])

Durability: Solar System level (Able to tank a star destruction at point-blank range[32], getting these levels of energy), Higher with Path of Preservation (The Trailblazer can later switch to the path of Preservation[33], which possesses powerful defensive abilities to protect allies in various ways[34]), Can disperse up to Universe levels of energy with the Powers of Preservation. Universe level with Empowerment

Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Comparable to Seele[37], who could cut a bullet right before it reached Bronya[38], reaching these speeds, and move faster then Bronya's gun[39]. Can fight against Kafka, who in her ultimate views all of the bullets as stationary, reaching these speeds. Comparable to Fu Xuan, who viewed Kafka's bullets as moving so slow she can casually turn them around to hit each other reaching these speeds), likely Far Higher

Reaction Speed: Massively Hypersonic, likely Far Higher (Can dodge iridescent beams from Mask of No Thoughts from a distance[40])

Stamina: Superhuman (Noted by March 7th that Trailblazers can go days without sleeping, though as a drawback when they do go to sleep, they have to make up for the days of sleep they missed[41]. Noted by Welt that the Trailblazer's stamina is quite special[42], was able to fight at peak condition despite getting no rest[43]. Noted by Natasha that The Trailblazer has been on their feet and gotten no rest since Rivet Town)

Range: Standard Melee, Extended Melee with Bat & Lance, Several Meters with Throwing Hat (They can throw their hat this far)

Intelligence: Genius Intelligence

Knowledge: Grandmaster level

Was able to see through Julian's disguise where he looked like an adult[50]. Can talk to all the suspects that are potential suspects for stealing Foreman's vein detector[51], where the vagrants were having a hard time figuring out which one did it[52], The Trailblazer figured out who the culprit was after speaking to all four of them. Can run an entire museum in Belobog making business in the museum booming again, with Eris not seeing this many people in the museum since she was a little girl[53]. Able to mix drinks and make perfect drinks, being able to have conversations with the guests, being able to even help the guest outside of their bartending hours, along with this they can open and run the business themselves with them doing this making the bar more popular they did all of this despite having no bartending experience before this or any experience in the bar business itself before this[54]. The Trailblazer is an incredibly skilled movie director, despite never directing a movie before, with all of their movies being massive hits and fixing the slash Acheron left on the dreamscape[55].
Noted by Asta that the entire crew on the Astral Express is extraordinarily skilled[56]. Can fight and defeat Voidranger: Eliminators, having attacks that can mark enemies they hit and carry out orders to eliminate, can defeat Voidranger: Tramplers, who are the recast and fuse remnants of fallen warriors and Leviathans, they possess both the intelligence of a warrior and the power and mobility of a Leviathan, and can defeat the Doomsday Beast, which holds the resentful spirits of the dead and detains the will of all beings[57]

The cognition from the fragments of the subconsciousness in the Memory Zone created various enemies imbued with a specific cogniton from the subconscious[63]), Immortality (Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Characters in Star Rail can forgot their physical bodies, and still exist, this is mainly shown with Memokeepers that follow the Path of Rememberance, sacrificing their wordly bodies allow them to traverse the universe in the form of memes[64], with these memetic entities possessing no moral flesh, unconstrained by physical limits being made purley of ideas and memories[65], with memes themself being an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture. Noted by a Garden of Recollection Member that even if all matter is annihilated, it can continue to live on in the form of memories[66]. Reliance [On Memories]; To prevent oneself from being forgotten from the world, one makes the world remember them, if they are forgotten then they use their memories to re-create the world[67]), Non-Standard Interaction (Metaphysical Interaction; All characters are able to interact with Wubbaboos, a subspecies of Astral Spirits, that exist in the form of spiritual entites[68]. Along with this, immortality and resurrection is seen as a mere status effect within Honkai: Star Rail as characters like Pela can debuff the Mara-Struck Soldiers ability to revive themself making it where they die that the Mara-Struck does not heal them as opposed to the other soldier who wasn't debuffed).

Resistance to Ice Manipulation & Extreme Colds (All party members can interact with and take hits fom Frostspawn without freezing, where its data file notes that it is in the form of eerily low temperatures, freezing everything around it[76]. All party members can break out of being frozen), Fire Manipulation & Extreme Heats (All party members can interact with and take hits from the Flamespawn, not taking any burn status effect from it, where its data file notes that it is emitting intense heat, burning everything in its path[77]. All party members can fight within Sam's Secondary Combustion zone, which burns anyone trying to use a skill. All party members can interact with and take fire based hits from Blaze Out of Space, where it's armor is noted to burn with the burning flames in the core of stars[78], which is about 15 million degrees celcius[79], it is also noted in the data entry that it incinerates anything it touches[80]), Air Manipulation (All party members can interact with the Windspawn, not taking any wind shear status effect from it, where its data file notes that it is engulfed in twisting winds, raging on like a tornado[81]. All party members can take hits from different paths, where all paths originate and are formed from imaginary elements with it being philisophical concepts and a metaphysical aggregation of spirit, party members can also take hits from memory based beings along with chracters that can interact with memories, which are referred to as concepts by Memokeepers like Black Swan. All party members can take hits from Cocolia, Mother of Deception, where it's noted in her data entry that the she is a singer able to control Imaginary Energy[93]. Souls within the series are something carries information[94], along with being the data of one's consciousness, thus standard attacks to one's soul would not be enough to affect them), Law Manipulation (All party members can be hit by the hymns conducted without any adverse effects, where the conducting hymns can rehsape the world and create new laws[95])
All characters have Effect RES (Effect Resistance), which increases resistances, allowing them to resist things they normally cannot which includes: Resistance to Status Effect Inducement & Statistics Reduction (All characters have Effect RES (Effect Resistance), which increases resistances against incoming debuffs, allowing them to resist various status effects), Empathic Manipulation (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, such as outrage, which causes one to lose all reason and attack aimlessly), Sleep Manipulation (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, such as alien dream that puts a target to sleep), Domination (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, such as spirit whisper, that allows Kafka to dominate and control the target), Absorption (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, such as Black Prana's Snare, which siphons one's health, cutting it in half), Ice Manipulation (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, which include being frozen), Fire Manipulation ((As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, which includes the burn status effect), Air Manipulation (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, which would include wind shear), Electricity Manipulation (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, which includes the shock status from lightning damage), Bleeding (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, which would include bleed damage), Imaginary Energy Manipulation (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, which would include being imprisoned within imaginary energy), Quantum Manipulation (As all characters have effect resistance which allows them to resist debuffs, which would include being put in quantum entanglement[96])

Social Status; The Trailblazer is known as a big hero who saved the entire space station[104], their social status was enough to make someone leave the group chat after fear after they realized who they were dealing with[105]. Noted by Leonard that everyone's been talking about The Trailblazer and that their kindheartedness is famous throughout the space station[106]. The Trailblazer is known as the Bane of Svarog and the big hero of the Underworld in Jarilo-VI's underworld[107]. Charisma; Trailblazer is one of the first people people ask to talk with or hang out with. Most people have their full faith in them, expecting them never to come back empty handed. This faith cause people to usually go to the Trailblazer first before anyone whenever asking for help. Can cause friendships to emerge through fighting against people. People commonly ask them to join them in different activities such as gaming. Gertie was so overjoyed with The Trailblazer filling out her service rating card, noting that their opinion is highly regarded and their feedback will definetely help imrpove the quality of their service in the botique hotel, giving them something as thanks[108]), Extrasensory Perception (The Trailblazer is able to see a mirror that everyone else is turning a blind eye too as they do not see it themselves, along with being able to see a messenger of the Garden of Recollection, who sacrificed their wordly bodies and traverse the universe in the form of memes[109], with these memetic entities possessing no moral flesh, unconstrained by physical limits being made purley of ideas and memories[110], with memes themself being an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture), Accelerated Development (Battle; Physical Stats and Abilities; Noted by Pom-Pom that the Trailblazer is different since they first were on the ship, becoming more mature and stable[111]. Noted by Pom Pom that the Trailblazer is learning fast, with them implying it'll be hard not to improve when they've encountered so much. Pom Pom notes that the Trailblazer has made great growth[112]), Sheer Will (Touched the light of amber, showing their will to attract the gaze of the Aeons[113]), Observation (Unconscious Manifestation; The Trailblazer has come to understand the concept of rembrance and the Garden of Recollection, these memories activating a pathway for the Garden of Recollection to make copies and implant a messenger into their thoughts[114]), Blessed, Divine Protection & Immortality (Protection from Source; Died in their fight against Cocolia, sending them into "the universe"[115] where the Aeon of Preservation brought them back to life with powers from their path due to Preservation fading in Belobog[116], being noted to "bond their destiny to them"[117]. Noted by Cocolia that the Will of Preservation made its choice[118]. Noted by Sunday that the bond between the Trailblazer and others is so strong that it even impresses the Aeon of Harmony, giving them a new path from it[119]), Acausality (Unfixed Causality; Noted that everything Kafka tells The Trailbalzer to do is destiny from Elio's script[120], where Elio always tells the exact future, beng able to tell the exact time[121], where what is destined to happen will always happen[122] yet the Trailblazer is able to change the possibility of facing another battle[123] with even Kafka acknowleding it[124]. The Trailblazer can also refuse Kafka's request as a whole going against the script Elio laid out getting the "True Free Will" achievement), Free Will (The Trailblazer can also refuse Kafka's request as a whole going against the script Elio laid out getting the "True Free Will" achievement[125]), Non-Standard Interaction (Through touching and interacting with a Curio, The Trailblazer caused a quantum fluctuation that fixed it having Asta jokingly say that The Trailblazr's hand was blessed by an Aeon), Memory Manipulation & Fate Manipulation (The Trailblazer has the power to craft memories that can captivate the world and illuminate the universes future path[126]), Forcefield Manipulation (A forcefield was made around the Trailblazer while they were trying to protect March 7th from the Doomsday Beast[127]), Precognition (Premonitions; Saw numerous visions of the future while trying to protect March from a blast[128]), Retrocognition (Likely due to being connected with a Stellaron, The Trailblazer is able to see into Cocolia's past when she first interacted with the Stellaron[129]).

Limited Resistance to Domination & Precognition (Temporal Precognition; The Trailblazer can choose to not join the Astral Express and stay at the Space Station, despite Kafka using her Spirit Whisper to tell them to join the crew[130], which gives her the power of suggestion capable of convincing people to accept her orders without a second thought[131], with the files further confirming this, stating that Spirit Whisper allows her to hypnotically manipulate others through language[132]. Along with Kafka noting this is the future Elio has written for them[133]), Resistance to Biological Manipulation (Noted to Dan Heng that they felt fine after the jump from the Astral Express, which he noted causes dizziness or retching are normal reactions[134]), Precognition (Destiny Perception; The Trailblazer is able to give Fu Xuan a gift that she did not foresee[135]), Dream Manipulation & Illusion Creation ("Real" Illusions; Once the Trailblazer realizes the dream is not real, they can break out of it and return to the rea world where the plan of The Order was to blend the real world and dream world together, with Black Swan even noting the world as an illusion[136]), Mind Manipulation (Received a glance from Nanook without any real effects done to them[137], where Nanook's glance causes one to start acting weird and letting the Destruction Path's mentality consume them[138], where in the simulated universe, Aeons are cultivated to act just like the real ones[139]. Initially lost their mind being in IX's presence, though after Herta called out to them, they are able to resist IX's presence for a time which Herta notes the human mind will break when people get near IX (the Aeon of Nihility)[140], later in Swarm Disaster they are able to appear in IX's presence though they are effected by its presence through falling asleep[141]), Memory Manipulation (Noted by Ruan Mei that the anti truth serum would eventually wear off and The Trailblazer's memories of her will disappear with The Trailblazer noting they will not forget her[142]), Absorption (As the Trailblazer is directly interacting with Curios even fixing some of them they are unaffected by the energy black hole that absorbs energy but not food)

Resistance to Stellaron Abilities (The Trailblazer is able to absorb the Stellaron into themself without any adverse effects[143], with it being noted that they were created for that purpose[144]), The Stellaron Abilities includes:

Weather Manipulation & Spatial Manipulation (The Stellaron causes a spatial reading anomaly that affects the complex locality of a world[145]. Welt notes that a Stellaron's arrival causes massive changes to civilizations and ecosystems, along with generating distortions in space such as Fragmentums[146], with the Stellaron being the cause for Jarilo-VI becoming a frozen planet[147]. Noted by Dan Heng that creatures outside the city of Jarilo-VI came from a tear in corroded space, otherwise known as a fragmentum[148]), Data Manipulation & Information Manipulation (Total; The results of the phenomenon of space distortions form Calyxes, which contain reality data in them[149]. The Fragmentum records the Aether information of the entities and spaces touched by the Fragmentum, the data is combined with the information inherent in the Fragmentum and develop into a type of hybrid Fragmentum creation[150]. The Stellaron and Fragmentum are the cause of relics a construct made from a data stream that are objects corroded by the Fragmentum whose data is saved and then reconstructed), Conceptual Manipulation & Space-Time Manipulation (The Stellaron disrupts the flow of Imaginary Energy, which imaginary energy comes from the space-time vasculature, and surges endlessly from it, creating countless worlds[151], with all paths originate and are formed from imaginary elements with it being philisophical concepts and a metaphysical aggregation of spirit), Pocket Reality Manipulation (The Fragmentum creatures absorbing information and data combine it to make isolated paranormal spaces that spring up in every corner of the worlds corroded by the Cancer of All Worlds[152]. The Stellaron forms different caylxes with their own stored data of reality in them[153]), Creation (The Stellaron creates fragmentum monsters across an entire planet[154]. The power of a Stellaron can manifest shadows carrying out the Fragmentum's unceasing will to expand[155]), Corrosion Manipulation (The Stellaron leaves behind a massive corrosion that can spread and even target areas under the protection of the Aeon of Preservation, Qlipoth[156]. The Fragmentum is a corrosive phenomenon that is quietly expanding[157]. The Fragmentum continues to corrode bodies even after death[158]. Monsters that have experienced corrosion as the Fragmentum expanded have been corrupted into Fragmentum monsters where their source of power has mutated[159]. The Fragmentum energy of the Stellaron being assimilaited into Cocolia transformed her into a singer able to control Imaginary Energy[160]. Past Self in Mirror

She once loved to seal the moment when plum blossoms were on the verge of wilting and keep them close to her.

It has been many years since then. Many lifeforms — rambunctious, sweet, and everything in between — have bloomed from her hands, but the plum blossoms still wilt at their preordained times. It has been many years since then. Her visage in the mirror seems untouched by time. But, in the grand scheme of the cosmos, is she too destined to last for but a fleeting moment?

"If all is set for eventual demise, what purpose, then, does creation serve?" After a silence that seems to stretch to eternity, the winds blow, the petals fall, and the reflection in the mirror tenders the same answer as always. "For the day when plum blossoms are no longer kept." She deftly caresses the icy surface of the mirror. Such soliloquies have happened too many times for her to count.

Other

Standard Tactics: The Trailblazer will strike with either their bat with Path of Destruction, strike with their lance and set up a shield with Path of Preservation, or use their hat to do various imaginary attacks with Path of Harmony.

Weaknesses: Noted by Welt that The Trailblazer will never be in the clear as long as they have the stellaron in their body[233]. Noted by March 7th that Trailblazers can go days without sleeping, though as a drawback when they do go to sleep, they have to make up for the days of sleep they missed[234].

Note: While the speed seems somewhat high, Kafka herself never directly uses her gun against the party members as a standard attack, she always uses it as a follow up attack even in her boss fight after inflicting the shock status effect on them.

Explanations

Paths

The paths that Star Rail characters have in game are not the actual paths they follow, there is an innate difference between using the abilities of a path and being a Pathriders of that path[235] being apart of different factions[236]. For example, March 7th is listed under the Path of Preservation[237], though she is apart of the Trailblaze path as a member of the Astral Express[238], one does not necessarily need to be in a path to us their abilities either, the Trailblazer while they were trying to protect March 7th from the Doomsday Beast, created a forcefield[239], despite using abilities from Destruction[240]. Thus the path one has in game mainly refers to their abilities and not the actual path they follow, this applies with Light Cones too.

  164. Stars are of course sources of visible light, but they also emit UV, X-ray, and even gamma-ray light. The emission of stellar radiation depends on their surface temperature and also on their activity. Therefore, emission is related to the evolution and spectral type of the star and it can be highly variable
