Background

Magolor is a character in the Kirby series, debuting as the main antagonist and final boss of Kirby's Return to Dream Land. He tricks Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddle Dee into rebuilding his Lor Starcutter and defeating Landia so he could steal the Master Crown and conquer the universe.

Magolor returns in Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition, where he apologizes for his actions by building Kirby a theme park. Ever since then, he has appeared in later games as an ally.

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Small Size (Type 0. Comparable in size to Kirby whose canonically about 8 inches tall), Vehicular Mastery (Able to drive the Lor Starcutter), Longevity (Data of Queen Sectonia notes that she contains data spanning elements of creatures of at least 1000 years. She began to discard her true form and possessing others after having her mind twisted by the Dimensional Mirror Taranza gifted her, which could only have it's corruption ability after the events of the Amazing Mirror, which would imply Amazing Mirror has a 1000 year timeskip), Self-Sustenance (Type 1. Have consistently shown to fight in space), Accelerated Development (Battle; Physical Stats. Has been shown to keep up with Kirby who has shown various cases of getting stronger throughout multiple battles, in Epic Yarn he goes from taking 3 hits to defeat a boss to defeating said bosses in one blow. Kirby has gone from a single Dark Matter causing him to faint after battle, to being able to fight a Dark Matter along with fighting their leader Zero. Can defeat a clone of himself with the exact same copy ability along with hoards of his clones. It is noted by a Waddle Dee soldier that Kirby is good at every battle. Even with Dedede trying to increase the difficulty of the clones, with the machine making stronger Kirby's, he could keep beating the Kirby clones. Meta Knight notes that the Kirby clones are pathetic compared to Kirby. With Kirby then defeating Meta Knight in battle. Afterwards he beat King Dedede's strongest team by himself. Could fight and defeat Kirby clones while also fighting Dededestroyer Z. Kirby has infinite power giving him no limit allowing him to always increase his strengths without an end. His copy ability martial artist gives him infinite fighting capabilities), Immortality (Types 3 & 7. Like others, can regenerate from being crushed. Can die, turn into a ghost, and drain the life force from others to resurrect himself), Regeneration (Mid. Like Kirby can regenerate from being crushed. Low-Godly as a soul. Can die, turn into a ghost, and as a soul, Magolor can interact with the life force of another allowing him to regenerate back a physical form), Incorporeality & Intangibility as a ghost (Immaterial. Empathic Manipulation, Morality Manipulation, Purification (Can use Friend Hearts. Friend Heart allows Kirby to make friends, and serves as one of the main mechanics of the game. Before Kirby learns of his new ability, Hyness performs a ritual to resurrect Void Termina who is sealed in the Jamba Heart, but fails to perform it correctly, causing it and the Heart Spears containing it to shatter, sending their shards across the galaxy), Darkness Manipulation (Can shoot dark energy orbs), Glyph Creation (Creates glyphs to shoot out energy attacks), Fire Manipulation (A fully charged energy blast shoots out fire), Spike Manipulation (Can shoot out spikes with weird liquid substances), Explosion Manipulation (Can throw exploding gem apples), Vacuum Manipulation & BFR (Can create a black-hole like object that sucks in everything and BFR targets), Weapon Creation (Can create a giant sword), Intangibility (Spatial. When the button is released or after about 5 seconds, he will reappear through another portal, damaging nearby enemies), Forcefield Creation (With Magic Barrier, Magolor creates a star shaped barrier around him)

Energy Manipulation, Electricity Manipulation & Homing Attack (Magolor can create electrical energy orbs that home in on the target. All previous powers and abilities to a far greater extent, Creation (Can casually create enemies from juggling), Enhanced Dimension Manipulation (Has full control over the dimensional rifts to the point that he can use the dimensions themselves to attack), Dimensional Travel (Freely travels through the dimensional portals), Reality Warping (Has full control over reality, being able to insert his own glyph drawings into it), Weapon Creation (Creates two gigantic swords to swing around with), Telekinesis (Can freely control his glyphs around to attack as a pseudo-dragon)

Standard Equipment:

  • Lor Starcutter: The Lor Starcutter is an ancient ship that can travel through the cosmos. According to Magolor, the current owner of the ship, the Lor Starcutter is an ancient vessel that was crafted by the ancients, people of the past who made legendary treasures and pieces of technology. The ship was apparently crafted using an “incredible power.” The ship has the ability to travel throughout space and time by creating dimensional rifts. The Lor Starcutter was set down in a sacred resting place in Halcandra, a planet in Another Dimension, and the ancients entrusted Landia to guard it and some other artifacts they created. The ship was uncovered by Magolor, who repaired and upgraded it, though in truth he had stolen it. Also according to Magolor, the Lor Starcutter is apparently sentient, as he stated that there’s legends that say that the ship has a mind of its own. This is evidenced at the end of Kirby's Return to Dream Land, where the Lor Starcutter and Landia return to rescue Kirby and friends, despite Magolor having been defeated and not there to pilot it. Magolor also implies that the Lor may have the ability to speak, although there is no evidence to that.
  • Master Crown: Return to Dream Land only. The Master Crown is a seemingly malevolent item in the Kirby series, appearing in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It is a source of limitless power that when worn by the user gives them power to rule the entire universe, however the crown will take over the user overtime until there’s nothing left of the user except the crown.

Optional Equipment:

  • Maxim Tomatoes: Heals all of Kirby's health when eaten. He can keep several of them without being used in his stomach.
  • Various Food Items: Heals varying amount of health.
  • Action Star:When this item is attacked, one of the following effects occurs at random:
  • Everyone's speed increases.
  • Causes everyone to explode, dropping Health to one point.
  • Decreases the speed and jump of all the other opponents, that will also have a maroon aura around them.
  • Puts all opponents to sleep.
  • Drops a bomb on all the opponents.
  • Drops a random Food item. One may occasionally be a Maxim Tomato.
  • Drops three Timed Dynamites

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius (Worked as an essential mechanic for the Lor Starcutter, repairing it and adding upgrades to it. Could build multiple theme parks and attractions in different worlds, with vast spaces containing stars and planets. Magolor is treated as a cunning manipulator, being capable of manipulating Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Bandana Waddle Dee to help fix his ship)

Standard Tactics:

Magolor will shoot magical attacks at the opponent, use his Lor Starcutter to attack or use the various techniques of his arsenal that he has from Star Allies.

Master Crown Magolor will manipulate dimensional rifts to summon enemies, create a pseudo-black hole to suck in his foes, shoot homing orbs, and create large energy beam glyphs while teleporting around.

Due to the Master Crown taking over Magolor uses more spatial warping over reality along with manipulating the dimensional rifts themselves to attack, and using the dimensional rifts to send attacks through or go through himself.

Weaknesses: The Master Crown will take over his mind if he’s defeated, otherwise nothing notable.
