Background

March 7th is a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail.

A spirited, quirky young girl who is into all things girls her age should be interested in, for example, taking photos.

She was awakened from a pierce of drifting eternal ice only to find out that she knows nothing about herself or her past. While initially in low spirits due to her lack of identity, she decided to name herself after the date she came into this life. And thus, on that day, March 7th was born.

Lore

A spirited and quirky young girl who is into all the things girls her age are interested in, such as taking photos. She was awakened from a piece of drifting eternal ice, only to find that she knows nothing about herself or her past. Though initially feeling dejected, she decided to name herself after the date of her rebirth. And thus, on that day, March 7th was born.

Why does March 7th take photos? "First of all, girls like me should like this kind of pastime." "Besides, I won't forget anything that I keep a photo of."

What has March 7th come to learn about photography? "Number one, when taking pictures of terrible cuisines, all the details must be clearly visible on the pictures because 'Taking pictures of food is equal to eating them. Every detail matters.'" "Number two, as long as you take a picture with your eyes closed, you will be able to capture an expression of your subject with their eyes closed."

Why is March 7th always wearing her camera? "Because if anyone ever seals me away in ice again, at least I'll have my camera with me!"

So why doesn't March 7th just use the camera on her phone? "Oh yeah, why not — hang on, it's because of that sense of formality!"

March 7th's ability is "Six-Phased Ice," but she has always insisted that it is not ice but some kind of condensed crystal. "Come on, ice can't be this beautiful."

The bows and arrows March 7th uses in battle are also made of the Six-Phased Ice, but she is not satisfied with the fact that her weapon is a bow. "Great warriors never use bows!" "Besides, if I use my ice arrow to attack my ice shield, nothing will happen at all!"

March 7th has also worked hard to practice a unique skill called "Star Crazing: Glass Greatsword," but she never succeeded. "March, judging by the name, it should be a greatsword, right?" "Well, but it doesn't feel as good as an ice sculpture... smash."

Compared to Pom-Pom the conductor, Himeko the Navigator, Dan Heng the Guard, and Welt the Jack-of-all-Trades, even March 7th has a hard time explaining her role aboard the Express despite calling herself a "Warrior." But March 7th's every move affects the crew's course of action all the time.

"Passenger March 7th slipped and fell..." "March, watch out for the galena ball above your head." "March, have you taken pictures of the sights over there?" "I believe March. If she said it's not delicious, then it's truly not delectable."

Rather than calling March 7th someone who constantly worries people, it would be better to say that she works her way into people's hearts. March 7th, of course, is oblivious to this, and is struggling to think up the right role for (Trailblazer).

For March 7th, who has been drifting in space, the situation in which she awoke isn't too bad. She woke up on a passing train, and the people on the train looked friendly. The only problem is that even though she has a reasonable understanding of what's going on around her, she still doesn't know anything about herself.

"Who am I? Where do I come from..."

March 7th looks at herself in the mirror, imagining dozens of potential past lives for herself as she tries on the various outfits that Himeko had assembled for her. But she can't be sure what her past was like, and what kind of past a girl like her should have... The only thing March 7th can choose to be is her current self, and the only thing she can look forward to is the future.

She is both frightened and glad.

The cognition from the fragments of the subconsciousness in the Memory Zone created various enemies imbued with a specific cogniton from the subconscious[49]), Immortality (Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; Characters in Star Rail can forgot their physical bodies, and still exist, this is mainly shown with Memokeepers that follow the Path of Rememberance, sacrificing their wordly bodies allow them to traverse the universe in the form of memes[50], with these memetic entities possessing no moral flesh, unconstrained by physical limits being made purley of ideas and memories[51], with memes themself being an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to person within a culture. Along with this, immortality and resurrection is seen as a mere status effect within Honkai: Star Rail as characters like Pela can debuff the Mara-Struck Soldiers ability to revive themself making it where they die that the Mara-Struck does not heal them as opposed to the other soldier who wasn't debuffed).

Inherently Unjust Destiny

''With the final card revealed, despondency, rage, helplessness, calm... Thousands of emotions immediately emerge from the faces of his opponents.

"Since we're already here, why don't we make everything more exciting?" He puts in all his chips. Those who have accepted their losses leave the table while muttering curses, secretly hoping that he would lose.

Victories, reputation, luck... He had never cared for any of that. He's only drunk on the moment that makes his very life quiver —Hell is only one decision away from heaven.

The chips are cast as lamentations ring out, dissipating in an instant when the dust finally settles, just like this illusory sense of satisfaction. "To have everything, or to lose everything, yet I have no power to choose..."''

"You seem in high spirits today" "Yes... after all, there's a very important 'performance'." "Indeed. The Charmony Festival's rehearsal is about to start. Please head to the preparation room." ...

She steps out from the dressing room, leaving behind the brilliant lights of the theater, fading into the distance.

Past Self in Mirror

She once loved to seal the moment when plum blossoms were on the verge of wilting and keep them close to her.

It has been many years since then. Many lifeforms — rambunctious, sweet, and everything in between — have bloomed from her hands, but the plum blossoms still wilt at their preordained times. It has been many years since then. Her visage in the mirror seems untouched by time. But, in the grand scheme of the cosmos, is she too destined to last for but a fleeting moment?

"If all is set for eventual demise, what purpose, then, does creation serve?" After a silence that seems to stretch to eternity, the winds blow, the petals fall, and the reflection in the mirror tenders the same answer as always. "For the day when plum blossoms are no longer kept." She deftly caresses the icy surface of the mirror. Such soliloquies have happened too many times for her to count.

Other

Standard Tactics: March 7th will use her ice powers along with her bow in combat to try and freeze her opponent, she will also attempt to give allies or herself shields to protect from attacks.

Weaknesses: March is quite an air head[120]. Noted by March 7th that Trailblazers can go days without sleeping, though as a drawback when they do go to sleep, they have to make up for the days of sleep they missed[121].

Note: While the speed seems somewhat high, Kafka herself never directly uses her gun against the party members as a standard attack, she always uses it as a follow up attack even in her boss fight after inflicting the shock status effect on them.

Explanations

Paths

The paths that Star Rail characters have in game are not the actual paths they follow, there is an innate difference between using the abilities of a path and being a Pathriders of that path[122] being apart of different factions[123]. For example, March 7th is listed under the Path of Preservation[124], though she is apart of the Trailblaze path as a member of the Astral Express[125], one does not necessarily need to be in a path to us their abilities either, the Trailblazer while they were trying to protect March 7th from the Doomsday Beast, created a forcefield[126], despite using abilities from Destruction[127]. Thus the path one has in game mainly refers to their abilities and not the actual path they follow, this applies with Light Cones too.
