Power Source: Ki (All beings in Dragon Ball[3][4][5] have ki, the very life force energy of all characters[6], ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even[7] block attacks that would otherwise[8] kill them from[9] raising their guard[10], higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them[11])
Attack Potency: City Block level (Fought and harmed Krillin, who afterwards fought and harmed 22nd Budokai Saga Son Goku, forcing him to use his full strength, where he is above his Red Ribbon Army Saga self who defeated General Blue who survived his plane crashing into a mountain at full speed{3.72 Tons of TNT}, then after his training with Korin, it was noted by Korin his power increased "manyfold", making him at least two times stronger than before {7.44 Tons of TNT}, and also drank the Water of the Gods, where he absorbed all the hidden potential within him, greatly boosting his power, as training with Korrin increased his power manyfold, an even greater object such as the Water of Gods should have roughly the same effect meaning he should've had at least gotten two times stronger{~15 Tons of TNT}), Higher with Self-Destruction | At least City Block level (Trained for 3 years, to the point that he became so strong Master Roshi noted he doesn't stand a chance against any of them any more), Higher with Self-Destruction | At least City Block level (Noted to have a power level of 610, putting him above Early Saiyan Saga Piccolo), Higher with Self-Destruction (Unleahsed a self-destruction that should be far more powerful then anything else in his arsenal) | Metropolis level (Fought and harmed the likes of Guldo, who has a power level of 10,000, putting him beyond Saiyan Saga base Son Goku, who fought against and was superior to Nappa, to the point that he deflected his ultimate technique where Nappa casually destroyed a city and stood within the blast without having any damage), Higher with Self-Destruction
Durability: City Block level, Higher with Guard Up (Ki allows a fighter to extend beyond their bodies limits, allowing them to even block attacks that would otherwise kill them from raising their guard) | At least City Block level, Higher with Guard Up | At least City Block level, Higher with Guard Up, Lower with Ki Control (Higher level users can lower their own durability to allow people far below them to fatally wound them) | Metropolis level, Higher with Guard Up, Lower with Ki Control

Powers and Techniques
Equipment
- Crane School Uniform: The signature gi of the Crane School.
Notable Techniques
- Flight: This is the ability to fly using one's ki. Chiaotzu appears to have no trouble controlling his energy and is able to float in the air for longer periods of time than most others.
- Ki Blast: The most basic form of energy wave.
- Ki Sense: An ability that allows the user to sense ki and power levels. Learned from Mr. Popo and demonstrated during the Saiyans arrival on Earth.
- Drill Attack: First, Chiaotzu rapidly spins, and then uses the speed to crash into his opponent with great force, seriously damaging him/her.
- Dodon Ray: A superheated beam shot from the finger.
- Dodon Barrage: The user overwhelms the opponent with repeated, rapid-fire blasts from the tip of their finger and finishes with a single powerful Dodon Ray.
- Super Dodon Blast: This superior variation of the Dodon Ray requires the user to charge up before firing it at the opponent, rather than shoot multiple, weaker Dodon Rays. It also creates a much larger explosion upon impact.
- Afterimage Technique: An ability to move so swiftly that an image of the user is left behind. Chiaotzu is shown doing this technique along with Tien, Krillin and Yamcha whilst jogging through a forest on their long journey to Korin's Tower.
- Telepathy: It is a way to communicate with others using one's mind. Users can also read the minds of the ones they communicate with, similar to telepathic eavesdropping.
- Telekinesis: A technique that allows the user to manipulate objects and other people with the power of one's mind.
- Psychic Attack: Chiaotzu holds out his hands with palms out (sometimes in a Masenko-like position) and converts his psychic energy into an energy bubble in his hands. He then fires the sphere at the opponent, and it explodes on them, blasting them away.
- Psychic Rock Throw: The performer uses telekinesis to lift a medium-sized to large boulder (tiles or debris) from the ground nearby, and then throws it at the opponent, inflicting moderate damage.
Other
Standard Tactics: Chiaotzu will utilize his telekinesis along with beam attacks and hand to hand combat.
Weaknesses
- Standard Ki Weaknesses: Due to the nature of ki draining stamina and energy, Dragon Ball characters ki usage requires them to usually use their higher levels of energy in short bursts, using a large amount of ki overtime can greatly weaken them to the point that characters far lower then them can actually harm them with attacks[100]. Taking large amounts of damage can greatly deplete a ki users attacks, making it where attacks that would otherwise kill massively weakened characters, only pushes them back[101]. Ki users that are able to ki sense cannot do it when their guard is dropped, such as when Vegeta was able to sneak attack Son Goku during the end of their fight in the Buu Saga[102]. Despite some ki users being able to reach blasts that can destroy planets through charged attacks or techniques[103][104][105][106], they have not shown to be able to tank such blasts themself[107][108][109], with attacks that have[110] destroyed several[111] planets in the series always killing the character. Even characters such as Majin Buu's body cannot withstand the energy of a planet exploding.
- Unique Weaknesses: Chiaotzu is unable to tell immediately what his left is without thinking about it and cannot solve simple math problems immediately.
Note
- Some clips used on the profile come from an anime or movie due to the fact that some abilities from ki use shouldn't function much differently from how they can in canon, along with this sometimes the anime version/video game version of a scene will be used for cleaner visuals. Toriyama himself directly overlooks scenes in the anime and movies and gives Toei the thumbs up[112].
- The speed scaling for PLs are taken with a grain of salt as there are noticeable times where someone's speed isn't equal to their power, such as Burter being faster then Recoome and Jeice, along with Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks having his power greatly increased but his speed decreased.
Trivia

- Chiaotzu's Japanese name (餃子) is a pun on the Chinese food jiaozi (called gyoza in Japanese, and "potstickers" in English).
- Chiaotzu's hobby is watching movies.[113]
- Chiaotzu's favorite food is tenshindon,, which, aptly enough, is also the name of his best friend.[114]
- Chiaotzu's favorite vehicle is the air scooter.[115]
- In the original Japanese versions of the manga and anime, Chiaotzu has a tendency to refer to Tien as "Ten-san", displaying both familiarity and respect. This habit was kept for the U.S. English version of the manga but is somewhat downplayed in the U.S. anime dub, where his name is shortened to "Tien" and used in this manner by most every character although he sometimes refers to Tien as Mr. Tien in the American dub.
- While Chiaotzu's position as an emperor was a role he only assumed in the film Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure and never in the original manga or anime series, he is referred to as "the young emperor Chiaotzu" in the Funimation dub of the Dragon Ball Z episode "Goku's Alive!!"
- Chiaotzu has a cameo in Naruto chapter 150. While Naruto is roaming around in the festival, his face is seen in one panel in the form of a mask on display. This is not surprising as Naruto series author Masashi Kishimoto is known to be a fan of Akira Toriyama's work and has cited Toriyama as one of the authors who inspired Kishimoto to become a manga artist.
