Alia (Mega Man X)

From The Codex
(Redirected from Alia (Mega Man))
I don't suppose I need to say it, but I - Alia - will also assist in navigation. Before you head into battle, be sure to choose a navigator to assist you. Of course, if you're feeling confident, you can always choose to go it solo.
~ Alia
I'll try to develop a program resistant to corruption and all viruses. ... Gate and I both longed for this.
~ Alia
Last week an outbreak of Maverick Reploids caused a riot at the Energy plant. Then Axl showed up to quell the unrest. The Mavericks disappeared from the scene without a trace. Then, three days ago, when Mechaniloids on the wharf went berserk, Axl destroyed the Mechaniloids that was blocking a ship's hatch, securing an escape route for the crew. This case did cause 16 casualties, however... In addition, Axl has shown up to assist in a total of 14 incidents involving Mavericks.

Can you hear me, Zero?

Background

Alia (エイリア) is a Reploid from the Mega Man X series who serves as an Operator, Navigator, and Computer Specialist for the Maverick Hunters. First introduced in Mega Man X5, she assists X, Zero, Axl, and other Hunters by briefing them on their missions and guiding them through various areas. Alia provides updates on objectives, enemy activity, and recent developments while also managing transfer operations at Hunter Base. In Mega Man X8, she can be unlocked as a secret playable character alongside her fellow Navigators, Layer and Pallette. As a playable character, she mimics X's abilities but is unable to equip Armor Parts, which limits her capabilities. Prior to joining the Maverick Hunters, Alia worked as a Reploid Research scientist and shared a close connection with her colleague, Gate.

This dropdown contains the synopsis of Alia’s story. Read at your own risk as you may be spoiled otherwise!

Researcher days Before joining the Maverick Hunters, Alia worked as a Reploid researcher specializing in engineering advancements. During this time, she had longer hair, which she later restored in Mega Man X8. One of her colleagues was Gate, a scientist obsessed with the unanalyzable DNA of X and Zero. Gate devoted himself to creating Reploids with similar attributes, ultimately succeeding and earning widespread praise. However, his achievements caused envy and hostility among his peers. Alia reluctantly became involved in a conspiracy among the researchers to sabotage Gate's creations, leading to the destruction of Blizzard Wolfang and Gate's associate Ground Scaravich. Though forced into these actions, Alia deeply regretted her role. After Gate departed in bitterness and anger, Alia chose to start anew by joining the Maverick Hunters.

Mega Man X5 Alia debuted as X and Zero's Navigator, providing guidance and mission support. While her role focused on level navigation, she briefly appeared in the ending where Zero went Maverick and X's memories of him were erased. She expressed doubts about X's return, hinting at an unseen force behind the events.

Mega Man X6 In Mega Man X6, Alia's backstory and character were expanded. Gate, her former colleague, acquired a fragment of Zero's remains, using it to develop the Nightmare Virus and create High-Max and the Zero Nightmare. These creations were part of his plan to discredit Zero while positioning himself as a hero for Reploids. As X (and the later-recovered Zero) confronted Gate's Nightmare Investigators, Alia revealed her past involvement with Gate and the conspiracy against his creations. Feeling responsible for Gate's bitterness, she attempted to dissuade him from his destructive plans to create a nation for elite Reploids.

Despite her efforts, Gate refused to surrender and fought X and Zero, ultimately being defeated. Severely damaged by Sigma, Gate's fate remained ambiguous after X recovered his remains, leaving it unclear whether Alia repaired him or not.

Mega Man X7 In Mega Man X7, Alia resumed her role as Navigator, supporting the Hunters during the Red Alert incident. While she had no significant impact on the story, she appeared in all three endings. She contacted Zero in his ending, waking him from stasis, and discussed Axl's development in X and Axl's endings.

Mega Man X8 Alia underwent a major design update in Mega Man X8, adopting a slimmer appearance with less bulky armor and letting her hair down, reminiscent of her researcher days. She continued to provide mission support, offering stage information, boss details, and insights into Axl's transformations. Alia analyzed the Copy Chip used by New Generation Reploids, revealing its connection to Sigma's DNA, and located Sigma's base on the moon. Her final in-game appearance was an off-screen call to X and the others after Lumine's defeat.

As a hidden feature, Alia could be unlocked as a playable character after completing the game. This required using her as a Navigator more than Layer or Pallette, or entering a secret code. As a playable character, Alia mimicked X's abilities, including charging her Buster and acquiring Special Weapons from Mavericks. However, she could not use armor-based abilities or reduce damage and lacked pre-boss dialogue when selected. Like others, her stats and abilities could be upgraded using Rare Metals.

Appearance

  • Looks: Alia is a sleek and graceful female Reploid, designed with a distinctly feminine and professional appearance. Her armor is primarily red, accented by soft pink and white trim along its edges, giving her an elegant yet functional look. Green lens crystals are embedded on her chest and wrists, enhancing her refined and futuristic aesthetic. Alia's face is framed by her long, blonde hair, which falls gracefully over her shoulders. She wears a transceiver headset over both ears, emphasizing her role as a skilled operator and communicator.
  • Regular Clothes: Alia’s primary armor serves as her standard attire. Early on, her hairstyle featured a small, neatly styled bun positioned at the back of her head, adding a polished and professional air to her overall design. This hairstyle was prominently displayed during her earlier appearances. However, in more recent depictions, such as her portrayal alongside Gate in the past and her design in Mega Man X8, she is often seen with her blonde hair flowing freely down her shoulders, lending her a more relaxed and approachable look while still maintaining her technical precision.
  • Special Clothes: Though Alia does not typically change her appearance drastically, she is equipped with the ability to form a buster on her arms when needed. This arm-mounted weapon bears a design that closely resembles X's X-Buster, symbolizing her adaptability in combat situations. While her primary role is as an operator, this feature demonstrates her capability to assist in battle when necessary, blending her analytical prowess with a degree of combat readiness.

Personality

  • Duty and Emotional Resilience: Alia is a highly dutiful individual who strives to set her personal feelings aside to fulfill her responsibilities. This is especially evident during the Nightmare Incident, where she prioritized her work for the greater good despite the emotional toll it took on her. She deeply cares for her teammates, working diligently to guide them through missions and ensure their safety. However, the Nightmare Incident revealed a more vulnerable side to Alia, as she blames herself for Gate's descent into Maverick tendencies and his destructive ambitions.
  • Scientific Realism: Alia's past experiences and her scientific mindset have shaped her into a realist, rejecting the notion of "miracles" and approaching situations with logic and practicality. Her realism reflects her efforts to remain grounded, even in dire circumstances.
  • Intelligence and Technical Expertise: As a former researcher, Alia possesses exceptional intelligence and technical skills. She is proficient in advanced engineering and analytical work, capable of constructing new Armors with the data provided by Dr. Light's holograms. Additionally, she has successfully reconstructed damaged Armors, although none have been fully restored to their original specifications. Alia's expertise extends to programming, having reportedly mastered every known programming language.

Codex Statistics

Tier: 5-B

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: Planet level (Potency) (Fought and defeated Optic Sunflower, who used the data of the Final Weapon to perform his Earth Crush attack. Zero after gaining Optic Sunflower's weapon data can also use this attack with his Tenshouha technique. The Final Weapon was stated to be able to destroy the Earth and was going to be used by Sigma to do so. The data of things in Mega Man are portrayed as equal to their real world counterparts as shown consistently throughout the series multiple[1] times[2]. Optic Sunflower is also stated and shown to have control over data within cyberspace, being the root cause of the programs going haywire upon becoming Maverick. He also can download any data stored such as Cut Man's which was used to fight the Maverick Hunters. The Final Weapon's data should be stored as Mega Man Xtreme shows that the past data of entire stages is stored within cyberspaces. Comparable to Mega Man X who can fight and defeat emulated data[3][4] of himself and Awakened Zero fighting together at once. Comparable to Mega Man X who scales far above Mega Man and his era to the degree of Dr. Light putting a warning, him sealing X for 30 years, and him directly stating that no force on Earth would be able to stop him. Dr. Light even described the danger of X of being far beyond any of Dr. Wily's Incidents.[5] This would put him easily above Mega Man with his Double Gears and other Classic Era robots such as Duo whose fight with Evil Robot caused an explosion around Jupiter which was at this level)

Durability: Planet level (Can take hits from Optic Sunflower's Earth Crush, which uses the data of the Final Weapon from Mega Man X4, in which the Final Weapon was stated to be able to destroy the Earth and was going to be used by Sigma to do so. Survived hits from Lumine and Sigma)

Striking Strength: Planet Class (Potency)

Lifting Strength: At Least Class G (Should scale far above the degree of Mega Man who was able to hold up Dr. Wily’s fortress at the end of Mega Man 5)

Travel Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Scales far above Mega Man. Should be undoubtedly superior to Duo who can keep up with Duo, who can travel around the earth destroying evil energy around this timeframe)

Attack Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Scales far above Mega Man and Duo. Comparable to X and Zero)

Reaction Speed: Massively Hypersonic (Comparable to both X and Zero)

Stamina: Limitless

Range: Standard Melee to Hundreds of Meters

Intelligence: Supergenius Intelligence (Alia is the primary navigator for the Maverick Hunters. She guides X, Zero, and Axl throughout their missions and gives out various information on the locations and tips about the various Mavericks and other enemies they battle. Quickly rebuilt X's Falcon Armor, only losing the dash function in result. Discovered the origin of the Nightmare and its properties. She can also build the Falcon Armor and Gaea Armor from data given by Dr. Light. Former researcher at the Reploid Researcher Team. It's heavily implied that Alia created the Mother Elf)

Powers and Techniques

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Genius Intelligence, Body Control & Natural Weaponry (Alia can transform her hands into the Alia Buster), Weapon Usage (Skilled in using her Alia Buster and other special weapons), Energy Projection (Alia can fire beams and charged beams from her Alia Buster. She can also fire a bigger beam), Damage Boost (Alia can charge her Alia Buster for stronger shots), Stealth Mastery (Can navigate throughout Pitch Black without getting caught, which is full of guards and watchers), Information Analysis (Alia analyses enemies and terrains to give X extra information to help him on his mission as shown here, here, and here), Surface Scaling (Capable of wall jumping), Enhanced Senses (Can navigate through areas such as Pitch Black), Self-Sustenance (All types; Is fine in space. Reploids naturally do not need to eat. They can also exist in water), Accelerated Development (All reploids made are all based off of X's design, making all reploids have limitless potential, which is also stated here), Inorganic Physiology (Non-Living Objects; Reploids are a new generation of robots which contain an innovative new feature, the ability to think, feel and make their own decisions), Rage Power & limited Invulnerability (Physical Invulnerability; When Reploids are damaged to about half their health, they gain an extra attack. Mavericks can enter an invincible state where they can do stronger attacks. Superior to their previous models where when Robot Masters are damaged to about half their health, they become invulnerable for a few seconds and perform more powerful attacks), pseudo-Teleportation, Transformation, Light Manipulation & Intangibility (Type 3 [Transformation], Phasing/Elemental; Reploids should have superior teleporters to the robot masters who naturally display teleportation through teleporters interplanetary distances[6], they do this through transforming into a beam of light, they can use this in the middle of combat to turn intangible and phase through attacks), Consciousness Transferal (Reploids can have their data moved into other bodies essentially possessing multiple of them), Divine Protection (After defeating ViA■ and destroying the Robot Destroy Program within him, The Player was able to fully correct the Deep Log in its entirety. However, Via says The Player's story isn't over and RiCO repeats this and says that there will be future program errors in the Deep Log for them to correct and it would be insecure for her alone to manage it alone. Therefore to solve this problem that can happen in the future, RiCO will summon The Player in order to correct any irregular data in the Deep Log as she did in the start of the game), Supernatural Resilience (Reploids can survive after being severely destroyed. All reploids souls are able to posses a new body if their old one is destroyed or return to their old one if separated. Robot Masters can survive wounds such as being cut in half, with ones such as Proto Man calling it merely "a flesh wound", being able to come back just fine after teleporting away to be repaired), Immortality (Immortal Metaphysical Aspect; All robots "true existences" rely on their data, thus as long as their data is stored they can be remade or come back if their data is specifically "SAVED". With data further being explored through here), Regeneration (At least Mid; Should scale above all the Robot Masters who all regenerate after being flattened in Mega Man Powered Up. Mid-Godly as their Data Forms; In Mega Man Xtreme, Sigma was trying to reproduce the past data of several mavericks in the mother computer to bring havoc to the world's peace and the only way the past data of previously defeated Mavericks from X1 and X2 could be stopped is if X goes inside as his data form. Inside the Mother Computer, X defeats Vile's data form along with the data forms of a bunch of mavericks he has previously defeated. However, despite defeating their data form, their data is still are able to come back for the rematches at the end of the game along with Vile being back in the hard mode's post game story. Despite destroying Vile's data twice, he was still able to come back and better than ever in Mega Man X8. In Mega Man ZX, Omega's soul data along with flashes of the past battle in Zero 3 are trapped in area O and even after defeat, he can come back without limit even after obtaining Model OX which contains his soul data. With data further being explored through here), Resurrection (Repeated Resurrection; Atemporal Resurrection; Robots that are fought and defeated are able to be brought back as long as they still have their data, with this also extending to reploids being able to come back for rematches. With data further being explored through here), Save & Load (As characters save their data they can back it up as long as their data stays stored and saved. With data further being explored through here), Non-Standard Interaction (Conceptual Interaction & Abstract Interaction; Can directly interact with, harm, and destroy a robots data, which all robots "true existences" rely on their data, thus as long as their data is stored they can be remade or come back if their data is specifically "SAVED". All data resides in the deep log of each game's data and information of the Mega Man Franchise and many other Capcom franchises, with it being stated that data makes up the characters' personality, memories are data pieces that can be used to materialize hunter programs and also have the feelings of the characters, their data is even what determines their own canonicity in reality, with all characters being considered data alongside all universes being made of data. With data further being explored through here), Transformation, Flight, Intangibility and Pseudo-Teleportation (Type 4; Can transform into a beam of light and teleport to specific locations. Alia should scale to Mega Man's intangibility in this state. Alia can also dash in the air), Attack Reflection Negation (Her bullets can destroy the Ride Armor, which normally deflects projectiles), Forcefield & Invulnerability Negation (Charged shots can destroy forcefields that would typically make regular bullets bounce off. Can bypass Burn Rooster's invulnerability), Vehicular Mastery (Land Vehicles; Able to ride and control the Ride Armor. Can drive the Ride Chaser during battle), Summoning (Can summon X, Zero, Axl, Layer, and Pallette. With them, she can use a Double Gauge Attack), Possession (Reploid Souls can go back to their hollow bodies after being separated, however they cannot return if their body is destroyed), Healing (When swapped out, Alia can recover some damage inflicted. If the Double Gauge is full while having a partner, the partner can heal Alia when she has no more health), Power Absorption, Mimicry (Power Mimicry & Technique Mimicry), & Weapon Creation (When defeating a Maverick, Alia copies their ability, much like X).

Resistance to Extreme Heats, Extreme Colds, & Weather Manipulation (Can fight inside of a volcano near lava. Can navigate through cold areas. Robot Masters are made to withstand extreme terrains and weather conditions), Mind Manipulation and Soul Manipulation (Despite how active Robot Masters are they do not actually possess the feeling to think, feel, and make decisions of their own as this level of technology wasn't realized until the reploids of the X era. Along with Reploids having something closer to a human soul then any robot Robot Master has. Robot Masters have a "consciousness" though it is different from the standard humans consciousness as it's at the level of a "cognitive circuit" embedded inside each one of them[7]), Cosmic Radiations (Is fine in space. All Robot Masters can breathe and survive in space just fine, with an entire game revolving around traveling through space[8]), Information Manipulation & Conceptual Manipulation (Can take hits from characters that can directly interact with, harm, and destroy a robots data, which all robots "true existences" rely on their data, thus as long as their data is stored they can be remade or come back if their data is specifically "SAVED". With data further being explored through here), Plot Manipulation (As data determines one's canonicity in reality and all universes are made of data, one would need to fully change one's data in order to change their narrative. With data further being explored through here), Electricity Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from electricity-based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Heat Manipulation & Fire Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from heat and fire-based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it and survive the intense heats), Magma Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from magma based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Ice Manipulation & Absolute Zero (Can take ice attacks from Lumine, who uses ice comparable to Drift Diamond. Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from ice based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it, even with ice as cold as absolute zero), Gravity Manipulation (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from gravity based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Black Holes (Unaffected by Gravity Antonion's black hole. Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from black hole based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Petrification (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from petrification based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it, with the petrification being potent enough to effect black holes), Acid Manipulation & Corrosion Inducement (Robot Masters are able to tank and survive attacks from acid & corrosive based Robot Masters attacks, even those with a weakness can survive hits from it), Transmutation (Robot Masters and others are unaffected by the effects of the the mystery tank, which turns all weak enemies on screen into extra lives), Space-Time Manipulation (3+1-D) & Battlefield Removal (Dimensional Removal; Robot masters are able to tank and survive attacks from the likes of Centaur Flash, which creates a dimensional distortion where he warps space and sends an opponent into a black hole, with even Robot Masters that have a weakness to it surviving its hits and not being sent into a black hole. Robot Masters can also take hits from Cut Man who can cut through space itself and leave dimensional tears that he can jump in).

Fought Sigma and was unaffected by his virus. Which makes her resistances comparable to X's, who can resist: Corruption, Mind Manipulation, Madness Manipulation, Biological Manipulation, Possession, and Hacking (Is able to resist the Sigma virus and even when infected, X just take's normal life drain damage and then it wears off quickly. The Sigma Virus being able to turn reploids into Mavericks. Can navigate area polluted by the Sigma Virus without harm. X is unaffected by locations infected with the Nightmare Phenomenon which was stated to rewrite Reploid DNA and erase their thoughts. X was stated to have perfect DNA in context of resisting the virus. X isn't possessed by the Nightmare Virus which can possess and corrupt you), Soul Manipulation (X is unaffected by the Erasure Incident in Mega Man Xtreme 2)

Black Hole Creation (Squeeze Bomb creates a black hole), Earth Manipulation (Crystal Wall creates a crystal from below), Attack Reflection (Crystal Wall can also be used to reflect projectiles), Electricity Manipulation (With Thunder Dance, which electrifies others), Homing Attack (Thunder Dance ricochets to opponents when shot. Shadow Runner fires a projectile that homes in on the enemy), Ice Manipulation & Absolute Zero (Drift Diamond fires ice projectiles that freeze people to absolute zero), Fire Manipulation (Melt Creeper fires a wave of fire below), Explosion Manipulation (Green Spinner fires a rocket that explodes upon impact), Light Manipulation (Shining Ray creates a light based projectile that spreads into different shots)
Healing (Life Bottle Half and Life Bottle Full refills health. Spare Energy refills health once the user no longer has any. Speedy Recovery allows the user to heal faster), Restoration (Weapon Bottle Half and Weapon Bottle Full restores weapon energy. Weapon Charge refills weapon energy overtime. Weapon Converter refills weapon energy when the user is damaged), Statistics Amplification (Hyper AT increases the attack gauge. Life Up permanently increases health. Weapon Up permanently increases weapon energy. Super Recover recovers more life/energy from items), Creation (Metal Generator creates Metal Chips when walking).

There is a danger he may worry over or question even the absolute requirement for robots, “Do not harm a human.” The act of worrying in “X” marks a new epoch in robotics and is the first time this experiment has succeeded, but if it extends to matters that by their nature must not be questioned, it would be disastrous. In the worst case, if a robot were to harm humans deliberately, humankind would tremble with fear the like of which was unknown even in the days of the “Dr. Wily” incidents… I conclude that “X” is an extremely dangerous being. If I am to send “X” out into the world, he must have a verification period of 30 years at the least. 7. Q. Do robots like those made by Dr. Wily or Dr. Cossack have self-awareness, and can they talk? And do they run on solar energy like Rockman does?
    A. I take it you’d like to know if Wily and Cossack’s robots possess “sentience”? Naturally, they each have a “consciousness”, although the level of every “cognitive circuit” embedded inside each one of them varies, producing as many different “personality” types as found in people… Just like you or I, they can speak, and have emotional responses like shyness, or anger, just as we do.
Regarding their energy systems, many of them do utilize “solar energy” in some way.
