Background

Fecto Forgo, also referred to as specimen ID-F86, is a character in the Kirby series, debuting as the main antagonist of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Fecto Forgo is the incomplete, malevolent half of another being known as Fecto Elfilis, a hostile creature that hails from the depths of space. Fecto Elfilis had the power to create dimensional rifts and travel through them to other dimensions. However, they used these powers for their own invasive purposes.

In the distant past, Fecto Elfilis arrived upon the mysterious world and attempted to wreak destruction on the wildlife in an attempt to invade the world. However, their campaign was brought to a stop when the research team of an ancient civilization that once inhabited the planet captured them in the Eternal Capsule. Then, the research team began to study their spatial transportation ability within Lab Discovera, the results of which allowed them to become highly advanced in science and create technologies that share Fecto Elfilis's ability. 30 years after the research began, however, an incident occurred during an experiment with Fecto Elfilis's warp ability, in which Fecto Elfilis was split in two. Their passionate, more caring side split off into a being known as Elfilin, while their invasive, malicious side was split off into Fecto Forgo. Without their other half, Fecto Forgo was incomplete and thus remained dormant inside the Eternal Capsule. Some time after these events, the people of the ancient civilization abandoned the planet with their newfound technology, leaving behind Fecto Forgo in the Eternal Capsule.

Many years later, Fecto Forgo was encountered by Leongar, one of the leaders of the animal kingdom. Sensing an opportunity to escape their confinement, Fecto Forgo used their psychic powers emitted by their dreams to take over Leongar's mind, brainwashing him into their minion. Using Leongar, they formed the vicious Beast Pack in order to find their other half, Elfilin, leading into the events of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

By the time of the main story, Fecto Forgo had brainwashed every animal in the animal kingdom into serving under them, and was using them all to try to find and capture Elfilin. However, they still needed more energy to fuel their endeavors, so they sought out an energy source. Without Elfilin's soul, their spatial teleportation ability ran amok and opened dimensional rifts throughout various dimensions. One such dimension was Kirby's dimension, where the rifts opened right above the skies of Dream Land and proceeded to suck everything up, bringing the residents of Dream Land, including Kirby himself, to Fecto Forgo's dimension.

Once the residents of Dream Land arrived, Fecto Forgo saw that the Waddle Dees were a suitable power source, so they controlled the Beast Pack into capturing them and bringing them to Lab Discovera, where they would be forced to run in wheels like hamsters to power Fecto Forgo's efforts. Additionally, Fecto Forgo's psychic powers allowed them to take over the mind of King Dedede once he arrived, and controlled him into joining the Beast Pack. They also tried to control Meta Knight, but failed due to his sheer force of will. Regardless, the capturing of the Waddle Dees prompted Kirby and Elfilin to venture out to save them from the Beast Pack.

Once Kirby and Elfilin defeated the brainwashed King Dedede in Winter Horns, they were too busy celebrating to notice that the king had recovered and was right behind Elfilin. Dedede captured Elfilin in a cage and fled the scene, forcing Kirby to give chase to the Forbidden Island. There, Dedede brought Elfilin to Lab Discovera, where both Fecto Forgo and Leongar were residing.

After Kirby arrives at Lab Discovera, Leongar introduces him to Fecto Forgo, and hoping that they will grant their powers to him and his kingdom as they did the people of the ancient civilization, he plans to reunite Elfilin and Fecto Forgo into Fecto Elfilis. He thus attacks Kirby in order to stop him from thwarting his plan, but when Kirby proves too powerful, Fecto Forgo takes matters into their own hands and takes control of Leongar's mind, fighting Kirby with his body. Kirby nonetheless prevails, however, and Leongar is sent flying through the glass as Kirby frees Elfilin from his capsule. Enraged by this, Fecto Forgo speaks through Leongar and rants about how Kirby ruined their plan, and how they now simply want to consume everything. With this being said, Fecto Forgo opens their eyes and breaks free from the Eternal Capsule before melting into a teal goop. They then absorb Leongar and other Beast Pack members into their mass, turning themself into a large, goopy, chimera-like abomination.

Fecto Forgo, in their monstrous new form, chases Kirby and Elfilin throughout Lab Discovera's building. They are defeated by Kirby during the chase. They tried to absorb him, but Kirby dodges all of its tentacles. Elfilin, on the other hand, is grabbed by Fecto Forgo and absorbed, reuniting the two into Fecto Elfilis once more.


Fecto Forgo, now as Fecto Elfilis, flies toward the rooftop of the building. Kirby chases them to the top and does battle with them, managing to free Elfilin from Fecto Elfilis after they are defeated. As a last resort, Fecto Elfilis opens a large dimensional rift to Kirby's dimension and proceeds to bring Planet Popstar through it in order to crash the two planets into each other. Kirby inhales a big rig truck, becoming Big-Rig Mouth Kirby, and drives through the floating debris towards Fecto Elfilis. They summon large chunks of debris from dimensional rifts in an attempt to stop him, but with help from Elfilin, Kirby drives through the debris and destroys the body of Fecto Elfilis.

Fecto Forgo, left incomplete once again and having their body destroyed, became a spirit known as Soul Forgo and retreated to Isolated Isles: Forgo Dreams, a world created by their dreams when they were trapped within the Eternal Capsule in Lab Discovera, bringing Leongar along with them. There, they plotted to continue their invasions by creating an army of phantom beasts, as well as to take over Leongar's body and use it as a vessel. Thus, they shattered Leongar's soul and scattered its pieces throughout the world. Kirby and Elfilin arrive at the world once Clawroline notices a strange dimensional rift at Waddle Dee Town, and they begin to collect the shards of Leongar's soul.

Kirby and Elfilin eventually collect all of the shards of Leongar's soul, which light the way to where his body is. Once they arrive, Elfilin restores Leongar with the pieces of his soul, and they all have a short-lived celebration before Soul Forgo seizes Leongar's mind, forcing him to fight Kirby yet again. Kirby comes out on top and knocks Soul Forgo out of Leongar. Soul Forgo prepares to do battle with Kirby themself, but is interrupted when a butterfly flutters in and lands on their face. The butterfly absorbs Soul Forgo and, using their power, becomes Morpho Knight, who then does battle with Kirby. Interestingly, part of Morpho Knight's attacks get influenced by Soul Forgo's psychic powers(the ghastly homing spirit strongly resembles Forgo himself while certain buzz attacks affect the gravity of the place). Morpho Knight is finally vanquished and disintegrates, allowing Soul Forgo to turn the tables and absorb its power before teleporting away.

In the Ultimate Cup Z of the Colosseum in Waddle Dee Town, Kirby and Elfilin travel through another world to face all of Soul Forgo's phantom creations yet again before they make their way to the spot where Kirby fought Fecto Elfilis. There, it is revealed that Soul Forgo gained a new body after they absorbed Morpho Knight's power, becoming Chaos Elfilis. Chaos Elfilis and Kirby duke it out in a grueling final battle, and Chaos Elfilis is defeated, dissolving into particles. One particle willingly makes its way to Elfilin, who absorbs it into himself, finally putting an end to Fecto Forgo and allowing them to become one again.

Fecto Elfilis is the final boss of Kirby and the Forgotten Land's main mode. They are the original, complete form of Fecto Forgo and Elfilin, and a highly powerful invading force throughout the universe, known as the ultimate life-form.

After being absorbed and seemingly disintegrated by a butterfly, they eventually return as Chaos Elfilis following a chaotic confluence of absorbed souls.

Long ago, this being invaded the Forgotten Land, but was captured by the researchers of Lab Discovera, and its dimensional warping abilities were studied, thus allowing the Forgotten Land's denizens to employ planetary warp travel. However, thirty years after their original capture, a "warp-related accident" caused Fecto Elfilis to split into Elfilin, the creature's compassionate soul, and Fecto Forgo, a being driven only by the creature's invasive instincts. Unable to escape the eternal capsule it was imprisoned in by the research team, Fecto Forgo utilized its dreams to send powerful psychic waves across the Forgotten Land, taking control of the minds of its remaining inhabitants. Fecto Forgo then ordered its newly acquired workforce to hunt down Elfilin in hopes of restoring itself to its original form and completing its invasion.

In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Fecto Elfilis serves as the final boss, with the title Ultimate Life-Form.

After Kirby arrives at Lab Discovera, he encounters a brainwashed Leongar and defeats him, enraging the captive Fecto Forgo as they speak in broken English about their plan being ruined. They assume a chimera-like form, assimilating members of the Beast Pack, Leongar included. Even after being defeated in this form, Fecto Forgo still manages to fuse with Elfilin, becoming a ball of energy, which travels to the roof of Lab Discovera and becomes the now restored Fecto Elfilis. However, after an intense battle, Kirby manages to weaken Fecto Elfilis until Elfilin becomes visible, with Kirby using a mouthful mode to remove him, which causes Fecto Elfilis' body to start dissolving.

Enraged at having been torn apart once more, they decide to use their powers to send Planet Popstar crashing into the Forgotten Lands, causing both worlds to cross the Roche limit and be slowly ripped apart as buildings are torn into the air and fragments from Planet Popstar's terrain are sent crashing down. After inhaling a big-rig truck, Kirby and Elfilin plough through the rubble and avoid Fecto Elfilis' attacks, with Kirby ultimately using Elfilin's power to slam into Fecto Elfilis with the truck with massive energy, causing their weakened body to be wrent into nothing. After the battle, Kirby, Elfilin, and Bandana Waddle Dee land in Dreamland, but discover Fecto Elfilis's portal is still open and is still pulling both worlds together. Elfilin closes this portal using his full power.

A later form called Chaos Elfilis appears in the Boss Endurance of this game, in the Ultimate Cup Z.

Chaos Elfilis is the true final boss in of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, appearing in the last Colosseum. Fecto Forgo managed to escape their assimilation with Morpho Knight after the butterfly was defeated. As a result, the knight's DNA allowed them to become even stronger, and make their return as the last opponent in The Ultimate Cup Z, challenging Kirby to the true final battle of the game. Once defeated for good, they turn white with several souls of the consumed beasts emerging out of them before they shrink and dissolve into white particles. After dissolving, a piece of their soul returned to Elfilin and willingly let itself merge with him, becoming whole again with the two halves establishing good terms with each other. They are fought in the same location as their previous complete form, Fecto Elfilis, a helipad above the skyline of Lab Discovera, though they keep the distorted rippling background from that fight's second phase (under different colors).

Their malevolent, invasive half split off into a fetus-like being known as Fecto Forgo, while their friendly, compassionate half split off into Elfilin. After the incident, Elfilin escaped from Lab Discovera and fled into the outside world, never to be recovered by the researchers. After an unstated length of time, the people of the civilization abandoned the planet with their new technology due to overpopulation, leaving behind Fecto Forgo. Sometime afterwards, Elfilin began living peacefully with the animals of the abandoned world, with only the occasional argument. However, Fecto Forgo was one day found by Leon, who was subsequently brainwashed into serving under them. He renamed himself Leongar and formed the Beast Pack, and all the animals started to become violent due to being brainwashed, forcing Elfilin to go into hiding. Thus, Leongar and the Beast Pack began searching for Elfilin in order to reunite him and Fecto Forgo back into Fecto Elfilis.

  • Phantom Clawroline: Phantom Clawroline is a copy of Clawroline created to guard the shards of Leon's soul scattered around Forgo Dreams. She's stationed in Forgo Park, Soul Forgo's phantom variant of Wondaria Remains. Just like the original Clawroline, she'll be hiding behind a veil and would do the same opening but unlike Clawroline's black veil, she uses a white one.
The real Clawroline asked Kirby to help her save Leongar. This phantom feline is a fake! Formed from negative thoughts and powerful psychic energy, this wild beast doesn't seem to care about Leongar at all. She may be an illusion, but her claws will cause real damage!

  • Phantom King Dedede: Phantom King Dedede is a copy of King Dedede, created by Fecto Forgo to guard the many shards of Leongar's soul scattered around Forgo Dreams.
This Dedede double is made of powerful psychic energy. It's an illusion of the king based on memories of his embarrassing turn under ID-F86's control, forced to work for Leongar and capture Elfilin. It has no memory of Kirby or the adventures they've shared... It's little more than a haughty, hollow husk.

  • Phantom Sillydillo: Phantom Sillydillo is a copy of Sillydillo created to guard some of the shards of Leon's soul scattered around Forgo Dreams. As with the other Phantom bosses Kirby encounters in Forgo Dreams, Phantom Sillydillo is modeled after specific memories of the boss it is based on and thus apparently lacks most of the fun loving nature of Sillydillo, instead being perpetually bent on searching high and low for Kirby and Elfilin throughout the Isolated Isles.
Formed from strong psychic energy and modeled on specific memories of his role in the real world, this phantom copy of Sillydillo will forever wander Forgo Dreams, searching high and low for Elfilin and Kirby... At least its dance moves are still impressive!

  • Phantom Meta Knight: Phantom Meta Knight was formed at some point when Fecto Forgo attempted to take control over Meta Knight and use him for its own purposes. However, Meta Knight was able to resist the attempted mind control, but the clash between the two was so intense, residual energy ended up shaping into Phantom Meta Knight. It is only fought in the Colosseum, and is stated to exist outside of Fecto Forgo's dreamscape, where the other Phantom bosses are fought, Isolated Isles.
The lone illusory foe that you encountered outside of Forgo Dreams. When Fecto Forgo tried to control Meta Knight like it had King Dedede, the experienced swordsman came out on top through sheer force of will... but the result was this mysterious doppelgänger, formed by the residual psychic energy!

  • Phantom Forgo Dedede: Phantom Forgo Dedede was created by the dreams of Fecto Forgo to guard the many shards of Leon's soul scattered around Forgo Dreams. It appears in Forgo Zone.

Notable Technqiues


  • Bite: Fecto Forgo will move forward and repeatedly bite at the left, right, or center of an enemies location.
  • Goop Throw: Fecto Forgo will throw three to four globs of goop at the opponent.

  • Spear Projectiles: Fecto Elfilis will wave their wand, summon and fire seven energy blades that resemble their spearhead, those land in succession.
  • Laser Attack: Fecto Elfilis will fly into the air and use a giant laser that targets the opponent.
  • Spear Attack: Sometimes, Fecto Elfilis will launch an attack where they dive down from the air and drag their spear across the ground twice, leaving a trail of hot rocks that disappear after a short while, before launching a spear crash attack, and ends with them crashing to the ground. When Fecto Elfilis is on the ground, they use their spear to attack. They can spin their spear around once or twice. Another way they use their spear to attack is by charging straight at the opponent. Their final ground based attack is where they generate a star-shape space portals and strike their spear into it, five big portals appear around the stage and each has light ray shine down on where the giant spear will strike down and created shockwaves along the ground all around the stage.
  • Spatial Distortion: Fecto Elfilis starts the second half of the battle by creating a massive space distortion in the sky and creates portals to summon asteroids of building debris to hurl at the opponent.
  • Illusionary Duplicates: Fecto Elfilis creates two illusions of themselves and tries to heal. The three Fecto Elfilis come to the ground and a cyan ring closes in on the real one that heals a portion of their health when it closes around them.


  • Teleportation: Chaos Elfilis can teleport with both forms. Their first form fades out and usually teleports on the ground, though they may occasionally teleport from the air to the helipad. Their soul form teleports far more rapidly, usually before either the cutter or laser attacks. Chaos Elfilis teleports rapidly around the opponent five times and release a set of cutter shots similar to most other Soul Bosses after the third teleport onwards; the last one will fire two sets of cutters instead of one.
  • Colored Spearhead Projectiles: When airborne, Chaos Elfilis summons six or seven purple outlined copies of spearheads in three different formations and sends them to attack the player. The first varient of this attack is all seven of them pointing upwards and aim at the opponent; the second is all seven are downwards and can be jumped or hovered over; and the last one has six spearheads splitting into three groups, two of them positioned downwards, and the other four split into top left and right which is functionally similar to the outermost two from each side of the upward ones. Chaos Elfilis summons seven orange outlined copies of their spearhead around the opponent to impale them; these orbit the opponent for a few seconds and will follow the opponent's height until right before they do so. This can be done while Elfilis is either airborne or on the ground.
  • Spear Attacks: Chaos Elfilis slashes with their spear two to four times. They can also fire massive waves of energy similar to sword beams while doing this, in which case Elfilis will do this up to three times; this second variant is telegraphed by the spearhead glowing before Chaos Elfilis swings the spear. They may teleport between the swings. Chaos Elfilis thrusts downwards, which releases eight red tornadoes that curve outwards around them. This attack is always used after Chaos Elfilis fires three waves of energy from their spear. Chaos Elfilis swoops down from the sky and drags their spear across the battlefield, leaving burning rubble behind as they do so; the speed at which they do so is faster than Fecto Elfilis. Chaos Elfilis charges at the player with their spear four times from different directions via star-shaped portals.
  • Air Charge: Chaos Elfilis charges from the air and attempts to impale the opponent to the helipad, releasing six stars and a small blue explosion upon striking the helipad. Chaos Elfilis' spear gets stuck in the helipad after this attack.
  • Portal Attacks: Chaos Elfilis drives their spear through a portal, causing copies of the spear to emerge from several portals heralded by faint beams of light, slam the ground in quick succession, and create purple shockwaves which must be flown over or dodged. This attack is done twice, hitting both sides of the battlefield.
  • Laser Attack: Chaos Elfilis summons a laser that constantly follows the opponent, leaving a damagingly hot trail behind and ending with an energy explosion. Much like Magolor Soul, they fire a laser into a portal only for several more lasers to emerge from portals; the difference being the beams are positioned horizontally due to the fight being in a 3D plane.
  • Shadow Projection: Chaos Elfilis takes to the sky and summons a giant shadow of themselves in the background. The shadow copy sweeps their spear left or right up to four times in conjunction with Chaos Elfilis firing their spearheads either at the player or at the ground below. The shadow disappears once the attack ends. If Chaos Elfilis is on the helipad at the start of a subsequent use of this attack, they will teleport to the sky before the shadow's first swing. This attack comes in a second variation where the beams come from the front and side of the opponent, attempting to intersect at the opponent's position, and ending with two pairs of beams attempting to do so.
  • Illusionry Duplicates: Chaos Elfilis will attempt to recover some of their health, much like Fecto Elfilis, but will summon four clones instead of two. As with Fecto Elfilis, the real Chaos Elfilis produces more stars than the clones and is the only one with a shadow.
  • Asteroid Summoning: Chaos Elfilis will open a giant star-shaped portal which summons asteroids to hurl at the opponent; in contrast to Fecto Elfilis' version of this attack, the asteroids generate a purple shockwave after they hit the ground and Chaos Elfilis will never use the giant debris asteroid.
  • Orb Attacks:' Chaos Elfilis will be orbited by multiple orbs that can be inhaled and destroyed, weakening certain attacks that rely on them. The smaller surrounding orbs group into two and fire lasers, there is a variation of this attack where Chaos Elfilis will stay in place and fire three pairs of beams without teleporting in between. Most of the orbs orbiting Chaos Elfilis will begin emitting a beam pointed away from Elfilis and will begin orbiting them in various directions for a number of seconds in a fashion vaguely reminiscent of a ferris wheel; this attack is just as damaging as attack number 2.
  • Dark Vortex: Used mere moments after disintegrating their first body, Chaos Elfilis becomes a dark vortex which tries to pull Kirby in, with the background taking on a dark purple hue whenever this attack is used. The attack can cause one to lose any ability they mimic'd as they are dragged into darkness, taking heavy damage before being violently thrown back onto the helipad.

  • Grab Attack: Phantom Gorimondo's grab attack comes out much faster then his original self, and is harder to get out of.
  • Swipe Attack: His swipe attack also has 2 additional swipes.
  • Stomp Attack: His stomp attack now sends out much wider shockwaves. He gains a stomp combo that ends with him jumping, creating tall shockwaves that must be jumped over and through.
  • Rock Throw: Phantom Gorimondo throws rocks faster then his original self.
  • Tornado Spin: In his second phase, his tornado spin picks up large rocks, sending them out in four directions.

  • Air Puffs: Similar to Tropic Woods' air puffs; however, it now shoots three puffs of air instead of one that will break into smaller puffs that will spread out.
  • Gordo and Coconut Drop: Tropic Woods will shake, dropping Gordos while also dropping coconuts.
  • Fence Maze: In its second phase, Phantom Tropic Woods summons a large maze made of fences that leads to its face, dropping Gordos throughout it.
  • Roots: Tropic Woods will spread its roots around the battle arena to try and defeat his opponent.
  • Cloud Attack: Tropic Woods shoots out a very large cloud wide enough to cover the entire arena.

  • Claw and Dagger Combo: Her claw combo is much faster then her original self, and she now has a move where she will throw several daggers in the opponents direction. Her leap after throwing her claws from the scaffolding surrounding the arena also comes out faster.
  • Duplication: In her second phase, she will create three copies of herself, which leap onto the scaffolding. The first three copies will leap at the opponent and disappear, after which the real Phantom Clawroline will jump down and get stuck.

  • Trip Attack: The original Dedede's classic move where he tries to trip into the opponent, essentially crushing them. His trip attack now followed up with 2 additional follow ups, and his hammer swings being more faster and persistent.
  • Hammer Attack: The original Dedede's classic move where he will continously do combos with his large hammer.
  • Gordo Toss: Apart from his original, Phantom King Dedede gains a new move where he tosses three Gordos towards Kirby.
  • Gordo Bar: In the second phase of the fight, after jumping onto the platform in the background, he will throw down three Gordo Bars, which roll across the arena.
  • Pillar Attack: He then grabs a pillar and begins smacking the ground with it, causing the ground to crack and then burst open, which additionally turns the floor into ice for the remainder of the fight. Finally, he will also perform a large swinging combo with so much reckless strength that the pillar will shatter afterwards.

  • Explosive Duplicates: Phantom Sillydillo can pull out fake versions of a character that will eventually explode.
  • Cage Trap: Phantom Sillydillo will try to run up to the enemy and capture them in a cage, smashing the cage to the ground causes an instant one hit kill.
  • Floor Crack: Once Phantom Sillydillo loses about a quarter of their health, they destroy the floor in a similar fashion to Sillydillo, causing both it and thte opponent to fall into a larger cave below and setting off the second phase of the fight.
  • Spin Dash: As with Sillydillo, Phantom Sillydillo begins this phase by curling into a ball and attempting to ram the opponent three times in a row; this attack is somewhat faster than Sillydillo's version, but the major difference is that Phantom Sillydillo will skid to a stop at the end of the third roll instead of crashing into the wall like Sillydillo did.
  • Sandstorm: Once Phantom Sillydillo is down to only a third of its health, they will screech and leap to the open end of the arena. After landing, Phantom Sillydillo performs a dance that summons a sandstorm, severely impairing visibility for the rest of the fight; they follow this up by pulling out a Homemade Dance Partner and spinning wildly around the room for an extended period before stopping and throwing two dance partners in succession at Kirby, after which it usually moves on to its rolling attack.


  • Hover: Meta Knight flies by flapping his wings, damaging any enemies too close to him.
  • Meta Condor Drive: Meta Knight dives diagonally downwards similarly to Wing's attack of the same name, sending out two shockwave projectiles to either side on impact.
  • Dimensional Cape: Meta Knight's Dimensional Cape allows him to manipulate space, and is a powerful weapon in its own right. His signature cape never received its official name, until relatively recently, much like Galaxia. Meta Knight most commonly wraps it around himself to teleport away. This tends to happen whenever his mask is destroyed and his face is revealed, or when he knows he has been defeated. The cape allows him to warp and teleport short distances, and it can be used to surprise an opponent, catching them off guard by teleporting and attacking from behind. In more recent games, he is seen turning his back to the screen before using it. Meta Knight usually takes it off when fighting Kirby, most likely to avoid hindering his movement.
    • Dimensional Strike: Meta Knight charges up Galaxia with energy, his wings transformed into his cape, and then he disappears before reappearing, performing the Meta Spin Slash. Meta Knight can move while charging. Similar to Dimensional Cape.
  • Attack Reflection: An ability he shares with Kirby. While hitting them with any move, Meta Knight has shown to redirect attacks and projectiles at his opponents. The reflected attacks will home onto the aggressor as opposed to being repeating in reverse their original route. At worst, he achieves this by hitting the attacks more than once, although these are arguably just Game Mechanics. This technique either comes from magic or sheer precision, or both.
  • Space Jump: A technique most Kirby characters have, Meta Knight transforms into a small ball of energy which turns out to be intangible, he uses this power to mobilize himself or regroup with mates faster.
  • Friend Heart: A Friend Heart allows Meta Knight to make friends, and serves as one of the main mechanics of Kirby Star Allies. Before Meta Knight learns of his new ability, Hyness performs a ritual to resurrect Void Termina who is sealed in the Jamba Heart, but fails to perform it correctly, causing it and the Heart Spears containing it to shatter, sending their shards across the galaxy. A pink heart shard, which was dispersed by the Heart Spears, lands on Meta Knight and grants him his new power, which was unbeknownst to him at the time. Meta Knight discovers it in the first stage of the game, Green Gardens, as part of an interactive cutscene that explains the use of Friend Hearts; in this cutscene, Meta Knight turns an enemy, Poppy Bros. Jr., into a friend by tossing a Friend Heart at him. From then on, Meta Knight always has access to Friend Hearts, and can use one by pressing the X button. Meta Knight throws a heart by releasing the button, but can aim the throw before releasing the button, similarly to the aiming system of the Bomb ability; additionally, if Meta Knight is close enough, he will throw a heart directly at the enemy without needing to aim. If a heart touches an enemy that can be befriended (indicated by a small heart symbol above the enemy when Meta Knight is holding a Friend Heart), that enemy will become a friend, of which Meta Knight can have a maximum of three at any time. If Meta Knight uses a Friend Heart to create a friend despite already having three friends in tow, one of the three friends can be replaced with the new friend, or the action can be cancelled altogether, resulting in the enemy transforming into an ability item. Meta Knight can also throw Friend Hearts at Copy Essences, Ability Stars, and ability items to turn them into friends. If a friend throws a Friend Heart at another enemy, they transform into whatever enemy they threw the Friend Heart at. When an enemy is befriended, that enemy will wear their ability hat.
  • Team Attack: A technique Meat Knight can access with at least another known ally with similar control over energy, such as every Star Ally. In Return to Dream Land when piggybacking an ally or more, they can briefly charge energy to use a special attack, the more allies charging energy, the more powerful the attack will be. The form of the attack depends on the ally below, which is shooting it. Meta Knight uses his sword to launch a giant beam with the form of Galaxia that can pass through enemies. Meta Knight & all other allies in-game (Kirby, King Dedede, and Bandana Dee) can use their Team Attack to push back and warp the waves of space that were consuming interstellar parts of Another Dimension. In Star Allies when piggybacking an ally or more, they can briefly charge energy to shoot an energy beam (without using Galaxia). The more allies charging energy, the more powerful the attack will be. Given that the partner can be another Meta Knight, this is a power he can do on his own.
  • Telekinesis: As of Star Allies and while under the influence of a Jamba Heart, which was amping him, Meta Knight could infuse rocks with energy to control them with gestures, throwing them into certain direction of the battlefield. He could also generate a sphere of energy to send at targets and trap them inside for a while on contact. As of Fighters 2, Meta Knight showed that he could still infuse things with energy to manipulate them, ripping off rocks from the floor. He potentially also maintains his ability to trap targets in energy.

  • Galaxia is a legendary sword that serves as Meta Knight's primary weapon. It seems to have different properties from a regular sword as when Kirby absorbs it in the amazing mirror instead of becoming Sword Kirby he comes Master Kirby, gaining more useful properties, more attacks, and maneuvers with it. Galaxia seems to also have a mind of its own as shown in Kirby Quest, and it’s a weapon so powerful it can one-shot Dark Matter. In Meta Knightmare Ultra, it absorbs the energy of a defeated foe, allowing Meta Knight to use special actions like the Mach Tornado, Meta Quick and Heal.

    • Overhead Slash: Meta Knight slashes his sword in front of him, unlike the horizontal slash, he slashes his sword overhead.
    • Horizontal Slash:Meta Knight slashes his sword in front of him. Similar to Chop/Overhead Slash, but performed horizontally.
      • Knight Beam: Meta Knight's version of Sword Beam; he fires a blade of energy forwards while performing Overhead Slash, which flies forwards a relatively long distance.
      • Meta Triple Slash: Meta Knight's unique follow-up to Overhead Slash; he swings his sword two more times, one for each button press.
    • Meta Multithrust: Meta Knight rapidly slashes in front of him following the horizontal slash.
      • Decisive Slash: Meta Knight's version of Cleave; he ends his rapid slashing with one final swing.
    • Underwater Spin: Meta Knight spins around underwater with his sword, similarly to Knight Spin.
    • Knight Spin: Meta Knight's version of Sword Spin; he spins around with his sword.
    • Guard: Blocks with his sword to protect himself against attacks on the ground or mid-air. He does this in the middle of battle or as an quick reaction to an attack.
    • Moon Shot: When Meat Knight holds up his sword and then slashes it, he shoots a curved energy beam. This is similar to slashing Knight Beams, except the distance it makes isn't as wide, he's capable of slashing this beam at any time he wants, and it does more damage than an ordinary Knight Beam. The attack sometimes slightly homes into the target, and sometimes does that much better.
    • Down Thrust: Meta Knight points his sword to the ground as he plummets downwards. Meta Knight's Down Thrust is stronger and quicker than Sword Kirby's Down Thrust.
    • Up Thrust: Meta Knight thrusts his sword into the air. This move is exclusive to Meta Knight and Sword Knight.
    • Piercing Slash: Meta Knight's version of Drill Stab; he dashes forward and performs a lunge with his sword. Meta Knight's Piercing Slash is quicker, covers more distance, and is more powerful than Sword Kirby's Drill Stab. Can be used in the air.
    • Meta Chop: Meta Knight's version of Chop & Thrust slashes forward with his sword, holding it diagonally downwards after for as long as the button is held or until he lands.
      • Meta Upper: Meta Knight's version of Uppercut; he makes a small uppercut with his sword.
    • Electricity Manipulation: Unnamed technique, Meta Knight, briefly raises his sword to generate green electricity that he extends to his surroundings.
    • Fire Manipulation: Can use fire versions of Moon Shot. In Epic Yarn, he can use his sword with energy which colors vary in each of his phases.
    • Drill Rush: Meta Knight drills into the target with Galaxia.
      • Piercing Slash: A move that consists of doing the same as with Drill Rush, although apparently faster.
    • Shuttle Loop: Meta Knight flies in a loop like Wing's move of the same name, and enters a gliding state afterwards where he can soar forwards with semi-realistic physics, accelerating when he flies downwards and stalling when he flies upwards.
      • Gliding: Done right after a Shuttle Loop or without it, Meta Knight glides up and down while going forwards.
    • Duplication: In a sub-game from Kirby Mass Attack Meta Knight uses his sword to create four clones of himself with low durability but identical strength. The duplicates eventually disappear. In Star Allies and thanks to being under the influence of a Jamba Heart, Meta Knight gained the ability to turn into a mass of energy, split into up to 4 masses of energy, have each turn back into a Meta Knight and attack targets like that, each duplicate having a comparable strength, durability and the same abilities as the unsplitted Meta Knight, each performing different actions. As of Fighters 2 Meta Knight showed to have maintained this power.
    • Sky Knight Sword: Meta Knight's version of Sky Energy Sword; he holds his sword upwards, charging it with energy. He then performs a Crescent Slash upon using Overhead Slash or Meta Chop.
    • Meta Spin Slash: Meta Knight's version of Spin Slash; he winds back his sword while charging, then twirls rapidly with it outstretched, hitting enemies to both sides in a close range.
    • Galactic Counter: Meta Knight holds Galaxia in front of him in an identical pose to his guard. If hit by an attack, Meta Knight will reel back to avoid it, then rush forward and slash.

  • Thanks to Galaxia, Meta Knight can freely use special moves during his battles. When he's a playable character, using this moves cost him points he has to collect or gain via defeating foes; This is due to Game Mechanics, as he otherwise isn't restricted by this nor points pop up when he defeats someone. This list also covers similar and powerful moves he doesn't normally have access to use.

    • Tornado Attack: Meta Knight makes a massive jump, turns into a tornado and slowly descends trying to reach his opponents. If he gets them the attack will ignore any guard if he fails Meta Knight will be momentarily exposed.
    • Tornado Slash: Meta Knight creates one tornado with his sword which is impossible to block.
      • In Epic Yarn, he can create 2 of them going in opposite directions and can combine it with a slightly larger Moon Shot.
    • Knight Call: Meta Knight summons a Blade Knight or a Sword Knight as a Helper. If Meta Knight is near a Helper, he can make them disappear.
    • Meta Quick: Meta Knight's movement speed temporarily increases. This effect also works on his helpers.
    • Heal/Healing: Meta Knight (and his Helper, if he has one) will have all of their health restored.
    • Galaxia Darkness: Meta Knight unleashes a powerful close-range attack with Galaxia.
    • Mach Tornado: Meta Knight creates a few tornadoes that spread through the entire screen, thus damaging all foes on-screen. Can damage Reactor directly.
    • Meta Knightmares: Meta Knight summons members of the Meta-Knights for a devastating full-screen attack.
    • Meta Calibur: Meta Knight briefly charges Galaxia and drags it forward. Upon landing, the target is moved upwards to then be repeatedly hit from all directions at high speed, making it seem as if Meta Knight duplicated himself (which is likely the case due to the context of the technique below). Finally, Meta Knight slams the target down.


    • Platform Tilting: He starts off by spinning around the stage, causing different areas of the platform to tilt into the lava.
    • Hammer Strikes: His rapid hammer smashes now create fire tornadoes, and he can throw his two hammers before jumping up and smashing the ground a few times, creating shockwaves, and the last jump will sink a part of the arena into lava.
    • Fire Spin: When he spins down the platform, he will leave a trail of lava behind him. Also, he will now throw more fireballs.
    • Meteor Shower: At the start of the second phase, he will jump into an area far from the stage, then roar and summon many meteors, the final one being the biggest and will always sink a part of the arena into lava.
    • Lava Puddles: His jump attack will also leave puddles of lava, and during the attack where he pounds the ground to create tornadoes, he will jump from one side of the arena to another instead of staying stationary.


    Other

    Standard Tactics:

    • Fecto Forgo: Fecto Forgo only has two attacks: they will stop and either move forward and repeatedly bite at the left, right, or center of an enemies location, or he will throw three to four globs of goop at the opponent.
    • Fecto Elfilis: Fecto Elfilis uses several fast-paced attacks that force the opponent to move constantly to avoid being hit. They start the battle by flying far into the background out of any attack's range. They then wave their wand, summon and fire seven energy blades that resemble their spearhead, those land in succession. Another attack they will use in the air is a giant laser that targets the opponent. When Fecto Elfilis finishes using an attack from the air, they will either fly extremely quickly to the ground near the opponent or crash to the ground with their spear that creates a small energy burst. Sometimes, Fecto Elfilis will launch an attack where they dive down from the air and drag their spear across the ground twice, leaving a trail of hot rocks that disappear after a short while, before launching a spear crash attack, and ends with them crashing to the ground. When Fecto Elfilis is on the ground, they use their spear to attack. They can spin their spear around once or twice. Another way they use their spear to attack is by charging straight at the opponent. Their final ground based attack is where they generate a star-shape space portals and strike their spear into it, five big portals appear around the stage and each has light ray shine down on where the giant spear will strike down and created shockwaves along the ground all around the stage. Fecto Elfilis starts the second half of the battle by creating a massive space distortion in the sky and creates portals to summon asteroids of building debris to hurl at the opponent. For their other new attack, Fecto Elfilis creates two illusions of themselves and tries to heal. The three Fecto Elfilis come to the ground and a cyan ring closes in on the real one that heals a portion of their health when it closes around them.

Used mere moments after disintegrating their first body, Chaos Elfilis becomes a dark vortex which tries to pull Kirby in, with the background taking on a dark purple hue whenever this attack is used. The attack can cause one to lose any ability they mimic'd as they are dragged into darkness, taking heavy damage before being violently thrown back onto the helipad. The smaller surrounding orbs group into two and fire lasers at the opponent; there is a variation of this attack where Chaos Elfilis will stay in place and fire three pairs of beams without teleporting in between. Destroying the orbs will make them shoot one less each or end the attack early. Getting struck by this laser deals heavy damage. Chaos Elfilis teleports rapidly around the opponent five times and release a set of cutter shots similar to most other Soul Bosses after the third teleport onwards; the last one will fire two sets of cutters instead of one. Most of the orbs orbiting Chaos Elfilis will begin emitting a beam pointed away from Elfilis and will begin orbiting them in various directions for a number of seconds in a fashion vaguely reminiscent of a ferris wheel; this attack is just as damaging as attack number 2. This attack can be weakened or even prematurely ended by destroying enough of the orbs.

    Trivia

    • Fecto Forgo is the only boss in the main story of Kirby and the Forgotten Land to not receive a harder version of their fight, and has the fewest attacks out of all of them.
    • Fecto Forgo's codename, ID-F86, is a Goroawase pun of the HAL Laboratory (i.e., 8 (は Ha) and 6 (る Ru)). This pun was previously seen at a theme named L86 in Kirby: Planet Robobot and at the obtained score (86555) when Void Termina is defeated in Kirby Star Allies.
    • Soul Forgo is the only character who is named a "Soul" that is not a boss, as they were absorbed by Morpho Knight's butterfly form before they could fight Kirby.
    • Soul Forgo and Galacta Knight are the only fake-out bosses in the Kirby Series. Coincidentally, both are absorbed by a butterfly, which then becomes Morpho Knight.
    • Fecto Forgo is referred to as an "it" in the Japanese version of the game, whereas the English version uses "they".
    • The incident involving Fecto Elfilis' split into their two parts was 30 years after their capture. The time difference between the release of Kirby's Dream Land and Kirby and the Forgotten Land is almost 30 years; exactly 29 years and 11 months.
    • The title of Fecto Elfilis' battle theme, "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit", refers to the distance from a celestial body in which the smaller celestial body will be torn apart and disintegrated as the closer end is experiencing much more gravitational force from the further end.
      • This effect is already happening not long after the portal opens, as pieces of yellow rock and mossy rock structure from Popstar are crashing into the Forgotten Land, while huge buildings are being uprooted on the surface of the Forgotten Land.
      • This may also imply both Popstar and the Forgotten World are similar in size and mass, as both planets seems to be effected by the other's gravity strong enough to be within each other's Roche Limit, tearing both of them apart instead of just one.
    • Fecto Elfilis' first phase battle theme, "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit" shares similar vocal samples to Queen Sectonia's 2nd phase theme, "Moonstruck Blossom". However, there is no clear connection between these characters, other than Chaos Elfilis sharing attacks with all Soul bosses, and by extension Soul of Sectonia.
    • Both Void Termina and Fecto Elfilis shared attack and theme section. This may be meant to imply some connection between the two, but if there is a connection, it is as of yet unknown.
      • Fecto Elfilis' flying spear attack heavily resembles the flying axe attack from Void Termina's winged form, swaying in the wind and slowing down time, and even using the same sound effect.
      • A moment in Fecto Elfilis' battle theme, "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit," bears a striking resemblance to Void Termina's battle theme at timestamp 3:51, with similar organ progression and choirs.
      • The story of both Kirby Star Allies and Kirby and the Forgotten Land is quite similar as well. One there was a civilization sealing away/lock up and research an entity. The civilization is no longer in the picture as of when the games happen. The entity is exerting influence to bring themselves back again to fulfill their own goal (destroy worlds/invade other planets). Both of them have a good counterpart (Kirby and Elfilin).
    • Chaos Elfilis is the first secret final boss of a Boss Endurance-type sub-game in the main Kirby series to be canon since Kirby Super Star Ultra, which introduced non-canonical Boss Endurance secret bosses.
    • In contrast to Magolor Soul being a Soul boss in name but not in attacks, Chaos Elfilis uses many of the attacks associated with previous Soul bosses despite not using the same name (due to Soul Forgo being used as a fake out for Morpho Knight), they also use attacks from Magolor's second form (and by extension Magolor Soul) as well.
    • Both Chaos Elfilis and Star Dream Soul OS's final forms have outer shells with a single color, are fought in a 3D space and have music changes once they lose enough HP.
    • Their second form references other Soul bosses in the series. Much like most of the Soul bosses (minus Magolor Soul), they fire cutters once or twice. Their fireball attack homages Drawcia Soul, right down to the background turning fiery orange (also referenced by Soul of Sectonia). They also uses the paint rain attack from Drawcia Soul, Marx Soul, and Soul of Sectonia and the bounce attack from Drawcia Soul, Soul of Sectonia, and Void Soul (and by extension Void). In addition, it's second form opens the fight with a black hole much like Marx Soul and Magolor Soul.
    • Much like Void, several of their attacks cause the background to change color whenever they are used. The only attacks they use that don't change the background colors are their lasers or cutter attacks.
    • Whenever Chaos Elfilis' core is attacked or damaged in the second phase of the fight, they will glitch similar to Nightmare's Power Orb.
    • Chaos Elfilis is the first Soul boss not to have Soul as a suffix and the first to have a post-battle cutscene, due to said "boss fight" being used as a bait-and-switch with Morpho Knight.
    • They're the only Soul boss to have a disturbing ambiance play during one of their phases (Eternal Echo of the Thrilling Tour-our-our). Further still, this track has multiple versions for different languages (English, French, German, NA and EU Spanish, Italian, Netherlands, Korean and Japanese) and a vocal-less version that plays during The Ultimate Cup Z's intermission before the actual fight.

    • Much like Soul of Sectonia, Star Dream Soul OS, and Void, the final form of Chaos Elfilis uses an alternate version of the final boss theme. In this case, it's a shorter version of the final boss theme (Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit) that starts at 4:13 of the track.
    • The sky in Chaos Elfilis' fight resembles the texture on Void, being white with swirling rainbows.
    • When Chaos Elfilis is defeated, they use the same sound effect as Void's defeat and reference the defeat animation of Sectonia Clone and Dark Matter Clone with the souls they absorbed pulsing in and out before disappearing into light.
