~ Nathan to Count Dracula

Background

Nathan Graves is the son of two powerful vampire hunters, who several years prior, had been slain in a battle against Count Dracula. A man who fought alongside the two and was the one to finally slay Dracula, Morris Baldwin, ended up adopting Nathan into his family and trained him alongside his own son, Hugh Baldwin.

Nathan and Hugh would grow up to be rivals, and would both contend with one another over who should inherit the Hunter Whip from Morris; with Hugh always coming out on top. During their coming of age ceremony, to Hugh’s shock, Nathan was chosen to hold the Hunter Whip.

Many years later, Nathan and the Baldwin’s found out that a woman named Camilla resurrected Count Dracula during an arcane ceremony. The three hunters travelled to the newly-recovered Dracula’s Castle, only to have Morris be kidnapped and Nathan and Hugh cast aside. Hugh instructed Nathan to go home and leave things to him, although Nathan refused and traversed Dracula’s Castle on his own.

As Nathan continued fighting his way through Dracula’s Castle, he came to the terrible truth that Hugh was manipulated by darkness into siding with Count Dracula. Nathan, having gained immense power on his quest through the Castle, was able to defeat Hugh and make him come to his senses.

At last, Nathan was able to make it into Dracula’s throne room and confront the Dark Lord himself. While Hugh rescued Morris and got him to safety, he entrusted Nathan to fighting Dracula. Much to the Dark Lord’s surprise, Nathan was able to strike him down and claim victory.

Nathan fled from Dracula’s Castle as it crumbled behind him, and made his way back to Morris and Hugh. With Morris able to recover his strength, Hugh and Nathan reconciled for their biter rivalry and became friends at last.

Codex Statistics

Grade: S

Tier: At least 7-C, Higher with Tackle, Far Higher with Sheer Will

Cardinality: Finite

Dimensionality: 3-D

Attack Potency: At least Town level (Potency) (Can fight and defeat Circle of the Moon Dracula[4], who serves as the absolute evil, the opposite to God[5], where for God to be perfectly good, there must be a being of perfect darkness[6], being the entity opposite to God[7], with such power making him far superior to Golem from Castlevania Judgement, as he died to a random unknown hunter after his return from the time rift[8]. Golem with his ultimate can shoot out a mouth blast that vaporizes everything it touches as far as the eye can see getting these results[9]. Can harm and fight against enemies stronger than characters who can take hits from neutron bomb[10], that have a yield range of 1-10 kilotons of TNT), Higher with Tackle (With Tackle[11], Nathan can charge and destroy blocks he couldn't prior[12]), Far Higher with Sheer Will (Simon claims that the Belmonts and Morrises did not defeat Dracula because of the Vampire Killer, with the reason behind heroes' capacity to fight against evil lying not in their physical strength but the noble desire to drive away evil and usher in all that is good, the desire to protect the world for all of humanity, with the courage to fight to protect others being the true essence of a hero and a Belmont's strength, with this even applying for other heroes such as Shanoa, Maria, Charlotte, and even Arikado[13]. Travel Speed: Superhuman (Should be superior to Leon Belmont, who was able to escape Walter's Castle by running from the top floor to the entrance, before the entire structure collapsed[19]), Higher with Dash Boots (Enables Nathan to dash at high speeds, reaching places he could not reach prior[20]), Far Higher with Pluto + Griffin (With Pluto + Griffin, walking and dash speed are increased[21]), Far Higher with Sheer Will

Attack Speed: At most Faster Than Light (Can tag 1800s Dracula, who serves as the absolute evil, the opposite to God[22], where for God to be perfectly good, there must be a being of perfect darkness[23], being the entity opposite to God[24], making him faster then enemies such as the Sky Fish who moves so fast that it appears as a beam of light and is only slowed down when time is stopped[25] and the White Demon, who can move at the speed of light at short distances[26]), Far Higher with Sheer Will

Reaction Speed: At most Faster Than Light, Far Higher with Sheer Will

Stamina: Superhuman (Was able to invade Dracula’s castle, slay several monsters including a dragon and Death, overpower his rival Hugh Baldwin, and defeat Dracula himself, all without rest), far higher with Dash Boots (these boots are said to allow Nathan to sprint indefinitely)

With Sage Armband, intelligence increases greatly while equipped[30])

Knowledge: Grandmaster level (Can fight and defeat Dracula, where he was a genius tactician as Mathias, who they called "Cronqvist the Wise"[31])

Powers and Techniques

Magic & Principle Manipulation (Through utilizing magic, one has to have a deep understanding of Quantum Physics to utilize it to its fullest, requiring understandings of theories such as "Curse Amplification"[32]. Magic comes from alchemy, a field that experiments with the principles of God's creation of the world[33], along with being said to be as great a task as recreating God's creation of the Earth[34]), Non-Standard Interaction (Extra-Planar Interaction; Magic is able to interact with beings such as Camilla Fernandez[35], Physical attacks are difficult to land as Camilla lives in the Astral plane, and her earthly body is completely ethereal[36]), Limited Immersion & Dimensional Travel (3+1-D; Magic users can align their magic with the magic of another to enter into painting worlds[37]), Summoning (Magic can be used in order to summon weapons and items inscribed in grimoires[38]), Soul Manipulation (Yoko through the use of magic discovered a new ability to draw the monster souls out and use them[39])

Equipment

Whips

  • Hunter Whip: This is a powerful whip that had been passed down between vampire hunters, once wielded by Nathan Graves’ parents and Morris Baldwin; eventually passed down to Nathan. In the pause menu, it is referred to as the "Vampire Killer" in the pause menu.

Sub-Weapons

  • Dagger: A collection of throwing daggers in Nathan’s possession, which can be thrown at enemies at high speeds.
  • Axe: An axe made with silver, which Nathan uses to throw at his enemies.
  • Holy Water: A jar of holy water that erupts into flames once it is released out of its container.
  • Crucifix: This is a boomerang, which is shaped like a holy cross. It returns to Nathan after being thrown.
  • Clock: A watch that allows Nathan to stop time for a brief moment.

Notable Techniques

Item Crashes

Item Crashes are a technique utilized by Nathan that allow him to use special attacks with his sub-weapons. Performing an item crash takes more hearts then normally taken from the subweapon however in return the attack is capable of killing most enemies and greatly reducing a boss' health.

The item crashes are as follow:

Pluto + Salamander (No Subweapon)

Nathan leaps into the air and summons 128 stars, each one as strong as a strike from his whip. This is the strongest Item Crush Nathan has. 100 Hearts.

Thousand Edge

Nathan shoots 64 spears, an attack which is approximately as strong as 10% (22% in Shooter Mode) of his whip. He can switch his vision while continuing the Item Crush. During this period, he is invulnerable. 20 Hearts.

Spiral Axe

Nathan leaps into the air and throws eight spinning axes, which is as strong as 79% (158% in Shooter Mode) of his whip. 8 Hearts.

Hydro Storm

For 8.5 seconds, Nathan summons a rain of holy water which damages the enemy by 22% (39% in Shooter Mode) of his damage by whip. The rain hits all enemies approximately once every second. 20 Hearts.

Holy Cross

Nathan leaps into the air and casts a pillar of light surrounded by spinning crosses. It damages the enemy at 100% (198% in Shooter Mode) of his damage by whip. 15 Hearts.

Clock

Nathan summons four golden clocks which affect enemies more than a normal clock, and damages the enemy by throwing all clocks after the countdown reaches 0. The damage is as strong as Nathan's whip. 40 Hearts.

DSS Combinations

DSS Combinations are potent abilities available to Nathan Graves in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon through the Dual Set-Up System. Activating each combination requires one Action Card and one Attribute Card. Below is a list detailing the effects of all 100 possible combinations.

These abilities involve imbuing the Hunter Whip with various elemental powers.

“…… If so, why did you take power away from the crack in the eclipse’s seal? If you just intend to imitate like a monkey, isn’t your own power enough?”
Those were the emotionless words of Death.
In response, Olrox laughed his bold answer.
“As I’ve said, I would equally gain control over the human world and the source of Dracula’s power, chaos. I do not intend to obey someone else’s mind aside from my own. That includes you who were born out of chaos.”
    “……”
“You should be glad though to know yourself. Just by stealing power, my shameful monotonous time is over…… Even before Alucard appeared, just because I showed up and declared war on him.”
Olrox’s voice was mixed with a tinge of thin delight. He respectfully bowed to Death who completely killed his emotions.
“I would end the reincarnation cycle of this demon castle. I who understood and was spun out of the stains of chaos, swear to rob that power with my hands. Now, yield.”
With Death’s reply, an explosive murderous intent rose.
Two bronze colored scythes much larger than usual appeared; it advanced to the space in between the two men with an intention to cut off Olrox’s head.
    Kill the distance-----
    Kill the sound-----
    Just, faster, soon, die.
It can be seen that the blades have certainly caught Olrox’s neck, but----- that is only an after image and the vampire is already at Death’s back.
    “……die.”
That was said by the enemy who called on his servants.
From the surrounding space, a group of purple bats rose, passed by Olrox’s arm with the speed of a bullet, attacking Death. However, Death did not show any gesture of avoiding them. He simply faced Olrox and sprayed out numerous scythes.

There was definitely no room for doubt. It is certain that the [castle] exists at the back of the mountains. The church’s greatest vampire hunter, Julius Belmont must be contacted. However, the conversation jumped into the matter of the disappearance of several village children."
  88. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku "A drawbridge suspended from the main gate is seemingly welcoming Michelle’s arrival.

That really is no doubt an obsession.
The youth had more than 28 holes penetrating his limbs and body. His heart is already starting to fail and he is desperately trying to say something amidst the darkness.
    “Only…… protect…… you……-----“
When he said those words he must say, the man’s soul already left his body-----becoming one of the floating spirits that wander the halls of the castle.
    However-----
    Fate did not allow it.
For those people who are involved with the demon castle, even the loneliness of death seemed half hearted-----
The man’s soul is pierced by a small scythe that flew in from somewhere. That scythe did not exist physically. It was a diabolic blade created by some magic and possessed a strong soul."

It was a whip that was soaked in blood in some places.
“I picked this up at the garden and I believe this is yours, right? Old man Julius also uses a whip. I came here just to deliver this to ya.”
Whoosh, receiving the thrown whip, Michelle noticed that it was the magical whip that serves as Curtis’ weapon.
“That’s great……! Curtis! With this your power-----“
In order to shake away the confusion she had a while ago, Michelle raised her voice, but-----
“Sorry, but…… with my current self, I could not handle it.”
“……? What are you talking about? Curtis……”
was he still confused, Michelle made him grip his whip.
Snap, some kind of popping sound rang and Michelle felt a light shock in her arm.
    “Uh……!?”
What happened, she directed her eyes on the origin of the shock-----
A part of the whip’s handle had a rotten like disintegration-----
A part of Curtis’ hand was burned, and that skin immediately returned back to as before.
    ----- No way……
    “Curtis……?”
“……I am currently weak at holy magic.”
    “Eh……”"

  143. Akumajo Dracula: Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku Novel “I had said it before. I do not intend to bind the world with chaos.”
The bats and scythes cancelled each other out and the entire dance hall sparkled with blood."
